You can install windows 8 on basically any notebook.
Now, the big question, is the notebook supported for windows 8? Which will tell us if you have drivers to use for the notebook or not.

In your case, Apple in France will not service a phone bought in the USA.

Quick answer is that unless you are using 2.2 and can use a stage.showAndWait() function, then implement your dialog via a stage or a popup or a stackpane overlay and use callbacks on actions in the dialog to collect the result of user interaction with the dialog and resume execution.

I have a 13'' Macbook (aluminum) running Mac OS 10.5.8. Recently I've encountered this problem:

Every time I open the browser, a pop-up window asks "Do you want the following program to make changes to this computer?"
It is unnecessary and annoying to have to click "yes" each time.
How can I get this pop-up window to stop?Thanks for the help I'll keep the info just in case - but I got so frustrated that I just deleted the program and then re downloaded the current version now everything works fine.

Your Windows license might only be installed on a Mac if you install Windows emulation software.
While it might be possible to swap to the Mac platform, which depends on which version is involved, that means giving up the Windows license. -

My computer no longer recognizes my Model M9244LL ipod. how can i fix this?
itunes managed to erase all the music on the ipod when I connected it, and would not continue after that. The ipod said do not disconnect, then the music i did have on it was all erased. After that the ipod reset and now the battery dies every time i try connecting, even though it was charged before i started.
Connecting seems to completely discharge the battery.
NOW Itunes can no longer see the device and now my computer USB port will not recognize my Model M9244LL ipod classic.
How can i get this ipod updated with my new playlist now. Right now it has no more music on it, since itunes removed what was there. Please someone help me out. I would appreciate it so much. Thanks.What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting this issue? Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your PC? Have you tried a different USB cable?
What happens if you try to reset the device with it still connected to the PC?

Instead of getting a wireless card for the Mac Pro, you might want to consider getting an 802.11ac wireless bridge device that would enable you to connect more than one device to it by Ethernet cable and to eventually take advantage of the faster 802.11ac wireless standard.

HalAs old as your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Reinstall the RAM grille. Plug in the keyboard and mouse if not blue tooth. Insert power cord...
You are now in a perfect position to do a
SMC RESET

Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
Wait 15 seconds.
Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
It is the 5 second timing that initiates the reset.

since you are running 10.6.8 did you install the combo update?
Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
It is more stable than the regular version.
You could use your original install disc and boot from the disc, run Disc Utility and do a repair disk. -

I have a Powerbook G4. I want to use an iMac desktop, the model that is shaped llike a lamp, as an external monitor. Can I do this with firewire or USB cable or do I have to have a different cable?
You need a network connection and a product such as ScreenRecycler. All such products require a bootable OS on the iMac.
