HP G62-348CA number keys and arrow keys not working
Good day Experts! Can someone help me fix my laptop? I got G62-348CA unit. only number 5 and 6 in my number keys are working and also arrow keys down and right are not functioning. at first it was built with windows 7 home premium 64bit but then i have to reformat my laptop with windows 7 ultimate but i dont have available 64bit so i install 32bit of the OS. before i install the OS, number keys and arrow keys are working fine but after I reformat my laptop with ultimate 32bit, the said keys are not working. please guys help me. im having trouble with my unit and i dont know what to do. its pretty bad i dont have any idea. all the best with you guys and i'm hoping for your fast and kind response. thank you!
Because the operating system does not affect the keyboard in that way . .. If the operating system has issues it would switch keys or assign wrong characters.
I have replaced over 200 keyboards because of such issues

Wep key and wpa does not work.
I'm trying to set up security for my router using wep or wpa but everytime I set it up, my key does not work. The router is suddenly disabled. I did exactly as the how to setup wireless security said. do u have to hard reset to get it to work. I've been trying to set security for three days. Your help is appreciated.
First of all, give your network a unique SSID. Do not use "linksys". If you are using "linksys" you may be trying to connect to your neighbor's router. Also set "SSID Broadcast" to "enabled". This will help your computer find and lock on to your router's signal.
For WEP, you must enter WEP "key 1" (found in the router) into your computer, not the WEP password or passphrase.
For WPA or WPA2, enter the key (sometimes called password or passphrase) into your computer.
Note that for WPA or WPA2, use "personal", not "enterprise".
Also, nomenclature sometimes causes problems. Note the following:
WPA = WPA with TKIP = PSK
WPA2 = WPA with AES = PSK2
Also note that Windows XP requires SP3 to run WPA2 ( = WPA with AES).
Also, each time you try a new encryption method, you must remove old settings from your computer. To do this, do the following:
In the computer, go to your wireless software, and go to "Preferred Networks" (sometimes called "Profiles" ). There are probably a few networks listed. Delete any network named "linksys". Also delete any network that you do not recognize, or that you no longer use. Delete your current network (this will remove any old settings). Reboot computer. Return to "Preferred Networks" and re-enter your current network info (SSID, encryption (if any), and key (if any) ). Then select your current network and make it your default network, and set it to automatic login. You may need to go to "settings" to do this, or you may need to right click on your network and select "Properties" or "settings". Reboot computer. You should connect automatically (it can take up to two minutes). If you still have trouble, in the computer, temporarily turn off your computer software firewall, and see if that helps.
If the above does not fix your problem, download and install the latest driver for your wireless card. -
Satellite P500 (PSPE8A-01R002) - Number pad and num lock not working
After upgrading to Windows 7 the number pad and num lock on my P500 PSPE8A-01R002 is not working.
Any help will be appreciated.Since keys worked in vista then its reasonable to assume there is something in the "software". I doubt that windows can make changes to the bios though there is Toshiba HWsetup but that does't look to do anything relevant.
I don't know what conclusions could be drawn from the results of trying an external keyboard.
How about trying various boot sequences such as direct to the command prompt and direct to safe mode to pin down it the problem is specific to your W7 installation? - why not try making a bootable cd (i'd have to google to find out how but you should be able to try windows 98 or even DOS - there was also a run from cd/dvd version of Linux and there's also the new Google os to consider).
Within W7 the only things that affect the keyboard would be settings in control panel > ease of access where the keypad can be set up as a mouse or keys remapped so num lock is "something else" and, clutching at straws, I presume keyboard language settings - are there any languages that require use of a numeric key pad to give a full character set (keyboard set to foreign language and Windows set to "English" so that the foreign character set isn't displayed? -

If the Type remains unchanged when selected, you seem to need to both Show Edges and Show Bounding Box under View. You should be able to move it though. Otherwise, something else is wrong. -

I bought this (C771) notebook new about 8 months back. I have been using s video port to connect to my TV. However last month it suddenly stopped working. I have checked my s video cable and my TV s video port using my other laptop and they are working fine.
I am surprised in 8 months itself, s video port has gone bad...OR there is some setting to be done to make it functional again.
Also, I have noticed my f4 ket to switch video outputs is not functional.
Also, the audio output from notebook speakers is very low and the headset jack connection is loose...the pin has to be adjusted to make propoer contact to get the audio out.

been days that i try to solve my Fn Key problem and also the arrow left and arrow up keys < i was using Win8 and downgraded to Win7 last week and that problem has occured since ,it misbehaves and it only works for a short amount of time it randomly works those keys FN.arrow up/left keys randomly they work , i upgraded again to Win8.1 now for the first few boots evrything worked well fn key and arrow keys np.< and now again it stops working.. and btw. whenever i press hard against it it would work pressing down the fn and arrow left/up keys when i press really hard it works but then again it doesnt Soo end of the story its not functioning properly and i have Energy management and Display driver HD 3000 installed and i still got this problem .. is there any fix to this anyone please !?Hey mate the keys are faulty nothing can fix it except for buying a new Replacement! , i fixed the problem simply by Replacing the KEYBOARD ! i went downtown and looked for a g580 keyboard and they didnt exactly have the same version g580 they had c or b580 i dont remmber what letter it was sorry ! but the thing is the whole keyboard layout of many Lenovo Laptops are the same just look one thats the same, cause mine wasnt for G580 but the thing is its still working perfectly ! only problem is the Screws didnt fit i had to cut out the sides of the screw hole thingies to make the keyboard fit in well in my G580 , Simply put all you need is a new keyboard replacement buy one they cost between 20-40$ worth it cause you wont have any faulty keys anymore evrything will work fine. no need to reinstall anything just replace it with new Keyboard. and Plus its easy to replace it by yourself. i replaced mine by myself easily. Problem fixed.

Keyboard Number Key and Directional Key Issues

Crtl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+X, Tab, and arrow keys do not work at all in FF4.0b13 and later. I am not sure about earlier versions as this is the first version I have tried.
I found this helpful article (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1381) and worked my way through the section "Some keys don't work as expected".
All the following functions/settings are disabled or turned off:
Text to speech / Speak selected text when the key is pressed
Slow Keys
Mouse Keys.
The keyboard viewer just confirms my list of keys that are not working.
Starting in safe mode makes no difference; nor does booting from the Mac OS X Install Disc and running Terminal from the Utilities menu. The same keys as before fail to work.
This seems to confirm that it's a hardware issue. Anyone have any suggestions? -
Arrow keys and enter key not functioning in Firefox 3.6 when viewing PDF
I'm using Adobe Reader 9.3.0.
I have a web application that displays PDFs (using Adobe Reader) in a browser. The PDF is loaded onto the page inside an IFRAME. In addition to the IFRAME containing a PDF, the page also includes several forms, text fields, etc. For the most part this is working fine. However, I have a glitch when using this in Firefox 3.6. I'm finding that certain keyboard events are being lost and I strongly suspect that they are being swallowed by Adobe Reader. When I place focus on an HTML text field and press enter key or arrow keys, I do not get the appropriate key events. If I run the exact same test without the PDF IFRAME these key events work correctly, but as soon as I load the PDF into the IFRAME they do not. I believe the primary key event that gets lost is the keydown event. I do get the keyup event.
Again, the events work correctly up until I load the PDF onto the page.
I've verified that this error does not occur in Firefox 3.5 and 3.0.

Paste the above into an HTML document. Open the HTML document in Firefox 3.6. Check the four checkboxes. Move into the text field and press arrow keys and enter key to observe the results when it is working correctly. Then click on the "Now Load PDF" link. Press the arrow keys and enter key again and observe that the behavior has changed.
Anybody have any idea why this is happening or how to work around it?I found a workaround!
By using an object tag instead of an iframe, all the keys seems to work fine and the PDF still renders in the page the same way.

Keys will not work; comma key and and arrow keys..
What can I do to make my arrow keys and comma keys work? I can not find any valuable material to help me with this.

Any other people who have used this computer with a glass in their hand, or passing incontinent cats or mice? MBPs have liquid detection sensors built in, so Apple should be able to tell you if you aren't aware of such events yourself.
Look, I know I'm being a bit cheeky and dismissive in the above, but assuming you are still under warranty and the problem wasn't caused by a liquid spill or other such physical damage, then just take it to Apple and get them to fix it for free. The hardware warranty last twelve months. We are all busy, but if the problem has been around for that long, and you still haven't had time to get it fixed, you can't need to use a comma or an arrow key very often!

Tabulation and arrow keys don�t work through ssh

I just got a solaris 10 on a v240. But I loggin through SSH, tabulation key and arroy keys don� t work. It � s quite nasty because I cannot just repeat a command for example, I�ve to type it allover again. I� m quite surprised because I have an old solaris where it does work without problem. Should I change something in the configuration?

Brand new 15" MacBook Pro Retina - unplugged from Thunderbolt Display and Keyboards today find keyboard alpha-numerics not working; except the function keys, delete key, tab key, command/ctrl/shift/alt/fn and arrow keys; and 7/8/9/u/o/j/l produce cursor nudges.
It's a new machine - and the Thunderbolt Display is meant to work with it. You need to just make an appointment at your local Apple Store and have them fix whatever is wrong.
If you like, you could always try a SMC reset and a PRAM/NVRAM reset to see if either of those will get your keyboard back in working order...

Mac book pro trackpad and arrow keys behaving erratically
Hi,
Over the past few months I've noticed my track pad and arrow keys not working as they should and the problem has been getting worse until a few days ago the trackpad stopped working all together only for it to come back to life for a few hours then get worse again.
Symptoms:
The cursor keep sticking, you can't drag it smoothly across the screen.It'll suddenly jump to the top of the screen or you can only move it left and right not up and down.
The main click stops working, it'll turn into a right click button so everytime you click I get a sub menu pop up.
When I use the arrow keys to navigate a sub menu the highlight jumps around as if it's possesd.
Sometimes I'm not touching anything and the cursor will move on it's own!?!
I've tried resetting the PRAM but it doesn't work. Everytime I restart the mac book it works fine for a little while then gets worse again.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what's wrong with it?

ChrisThe possible cause could be your List is too lengthy. What you can do is don't refresh the list when they press the key down but put a Button beside. Once they selected the value in the dropdown then hey click the Button to get whatever needed.

I am thinking that another possibility is the FirstOrDefault
command that runs in the FocusItem method. I think that it is causing any arrow key (up/down) interaction to behave erratically, but I don't know what to use in its place.
