Hi, maybe you need to check if the heatsink is well seated on the CPU and chipset. Yet, this is not end user doable check-ups due to the complex procedures and skills required, please contact local call center to get the unit fixed. Thank you!

  • SMC Update + Cool Pad = Very Very low temperature even on your lap

Hey everybody, the best solution for those that are bothered with the heat issue: buy a coolpad and download the snc update and voilà! Your macBook is cool and running perfectly!

I recently got my MacBook back from repair for the random shutdown problem (for which they replaced the heat sink and top case).
Before I started having the shutdown problem, I had bought a Targus Chill Mat, which has two fans which draw power from a USB port. I made some measurements with ("Ext Cooling On") and without ("Ext Cooling Off") the Chill Mat fans running.
Pre- Repair, Low Load, Ext Cooling On: 45 deg C / 113 deg F
Pre- Repair, Low Load, Ext Cooling Off: 58 deg C / 136 deg F
Pre- Repair, Max Load: Abnormal Shutdown at 85 deg C / 185 deg F
Post Repair, Low Load, Ext Cooling On: 43 deg C / 109 deg F
Post Repair, Low Load, Ext Cooling Off: 54 deg C / 129 deg F
    Post Repair, Max Load: max 81 deg C / 178 deg F
    After the SMC firmware update:
Post Repair, Low Load, Ext Cooling On: 43 deg C / 109 deg F
Post Repair, Low Load, Ext Cooling Off: 46 deg C / 115 deg F
    Post Repair, Max Load: max 79 deg C / 174 deg F

  • G62-b95EV

I want to ask if there are any parts to make my laptop last longer. I had a accident when i was eating cornflakes suddenly  the bowl with the milk fell on the laptop. I closed it and I started cleaning it. The next day I played many hours with it when it close without being overheated. Before the milk fell on the laptop, it worked perfectly when i was playing games for about 2-3 hours. I send it to a technician and he made what everything he could. But now when i am playing my games it overheats and closes without  trying to low the temperature very fast. I have a G62-b95EV laptop.
P.S. : Excuse me if my english writing is not very good

    Hi,
If you check the page 50, HP as listed a 4GB RAM with the part #. Since the system supports upto 8GB RAM, you dont have to worry.

  • Mythtv, auto shutdown no longer working, scheduler.cpp ?

Following a recent update the automatic shutdown of my backend is no longer working (well, at least not reliably).
I have 3 scripts set up in the relevant sections of the mythtv-setup to check if myth is ok to shut down, set the new wakeup time and perform the actual shutdown. These scripts still work alright, but the backend is not initiating the shutdown any more in some cases.
Lots of trial and error makes me think that this is somehow related to scheduler.cpp, but I am not sure if this is the case or how to fix it.
    I think I have established a pattern:
    Scenario 1:
    - Boot backend
    - do nothing else (e.g. start remote frontend or mythfrontend on the backend)
    - automatic shutdown does not work
    Scenario 2:
    - Boot backend
    - start remote frontend
    - shut down frontend
    - automatic shutdown does not work
    - restart backend service (without reboot)
    - automatic shutdown works
I also notice that in scenario 2 (when automatic shutdown works) there are a whole heap of these kind of messages right until shutdown occurs:
    2013-04-29 19:18:07.592125 N [660/738] Expire autoexpire.cpp:641 (SendDeleteMessages) - Expiring 156 MB for 1073 at 2013-04-13T11:50:20Z => Hulk

2013-04-29 19:18:07.889638 E [660/660] CoreContext mainserver.cpp:2610 (DoHandleDeleteRecording) - ERROR when trying to delete file: myth://192.168.1.103:65103:6543/1022_20120206192600.mpg. File doesn't exist. Database metadata will not be removed.
In scenario 2 (successful) I see the following in the log just before the above auto expire stuff:
Scheduler scheduler.cpp:2307 (HandleRunSchedulerStartup) - Scheduler: Seem to be woken up by USER
then a whole heap of auto expiry stuff and finally:
Scheduler scheduler.cpp:2862 (CheckShutdownServer) - CheckShutdownServer returned - OK to shutdown
2013-04-29 19:19:55.276775 N [660/735] Scheduler scheduler.cpp:2947 (ShutdownServer) - Running the command to set the next scheduled wakeup time :-

    sudo /home/laffi/scripts/MythShutdown
In scenario 1 (unsuccessfull shutdown) I also get
Scheduler scheduler.cpp:2307 (HandleRunSchedulerStartup) - Scheduler: Seem to be woken up by USER
and then autoexpiry, but then, once a frontend connects:
ProcessRequest mainserver.cpp:1385 (HandleAnnounce) - adding: frontend as a client (events: 0)
I don't get autoexpiry of files and no shutdown, both of which I believe are initiated by scheduler.cpp
I also noticed the following in the logs when auto shutdown does not work:
    2013-04-29 15:40:36.046359 I [648/848] ProcessRequest mainserver.cpp:1385 (HandleAnnounce) - adding: mythbackend as a client (events: 1)
which does not seem to appear in the logs when auto shutdown works.
Any ideas ? I have found very little (next to none) regarding scheduler.cpp when searching.

The other side of the VPN is a TMG server hosted at our main office.  I can connect to it off site, and others were connected to it remotely as well, but for some reason users at that remote site can no longer connect to the VPN.
I talked to my ISP wondering if there was something that was blocked due to the change from dhcp to static IP addresses, but they don't see anything.

  • % CPU is consistently very low, never reaches over 30%. Nothing gets more than 5% anytime!

I used to have the problem of over 100% CPU usage all the time, but the last few months, it's been the opposite problem. %CPU is never above 30%. Individual apps never get more than 10% ever, and it's more like 3-5% at any time. System and User apps are getting the same treatment.
I see Index running constantly, and all applications hang after every click or swipe.
I've verified and repaired permissions numerous times. Every time, there seems to be these little errors.
    What could I try?

    Problem description:
CPU % Usage is very low all the time. Even when I have many operations running, and many of them are usually high-CPU users.
This is the EtreCheck profile after having rebooted 2 times. It seems like it is running a little better now, but it still took 15 minutes to boot up. But apps are now running sometimes in the double digits!

  • One application "failed to quit" on auto shutdown

This has been happening daily now for perhaps a month, and it's got me stumped. I can't identify any pattern or anything.
I have my system scheduled to shutdown overnight and start up in the morning, and have had this same setting for years. What's happening lately is that the unattended shutdown apparently times out and I get a message saying logout failed "because the application [X] failed to quit." Now the really weird bits -
'X' is almost literally a different application every day, and it's rarely if ever attributable to an unsaved document. I think it's happened at least once with every single one of the applications I regularly have running. Sometimes it's an application I've used in the course of the day, and other times it's one I haven't touched. But it happens every day.
if I manually select the shutdown menu command at any time, including after finding that the auto shutdown has again failed, the shutdown runs smoothly with no application failing to quit.
I've run 'repair disk' in Disk Utility and also Disk Warrior and applejack several times each, as well as a weekly scheduled batch of maintenance tasks (using Cocktail). None of these operations has changed the behaviour come shutdown time.
Has anyone else seen this?  Solutions anyone?  Thanks.

    I'm 'bumping' this one.
Still happening very consistently, and becoming a real problem. Since originally posting I've run all the disk operations many times over, as well as one or two system updates at least. Nothing has changed, it just happens like this every night.
The only thing I can offer as a (sort of) pattern is that the application that's most often the one reported as preventing logout is HistoryHound. And it would appear to be one of the first ones the system tries to quit in its shutdown, since most of the apps are still running. However it does still vary - it happens on a different app sometimes, and it happens on some app when HH wasn't even running. So not sure that's much of a clue - unless perhaps certain apps are taking longer to quit than the system expects (or something??? - scratching for clues here ...... )
    Can anyone help? Please ....

  • Very low on memory

I have a 3 Mhz AMD processor, 500GB hard drive with 400GB free, Windows XP Pro SP3, 4 GB RAM.  The application is PRE9.
I've searched the forum and read the "solution" to this problem but am afraid to apply it because I have other memory-hog applications.  Here are my questions:
If 2 GB of virtual memory are applied to the application, what causes it to reapply the 2GB?  Is it closing, then restarting the application?  Is it restarting the system?
If it's either of the two above, they are not working for me.  I got the "very low memory; save your project" message for the first time the other day.  Now I get it every time I open the application and start to work on a project.  Even after a reboot.  I open a project, and after the first edit, it gives me the message.
In other words, PRE9 is now unuseable.  The projects are not large.  The .avi clip I'm trying to work on right now is 1.5 MB and all I want to do is Auto Adjust Color.  The color correction applies, I click play to see it in the Monitor workspace, and the message pops up.
Does anyone have any suggestions?  I used the trial version for a couple of days without downloading all the 4.3 GB of Content.  After purchasing the software, I did install the additional Content.  After that is when I got the message for the first time.  Could the additional content be the culprit?  I'll probably never use it because the edits I do are very simple color correction, audio adjustment, and deletion of unwanted frames?    Can you uninstall just the Content?
Could it have anything to do with Adobe CS5 Bridge running in the background?  That was a problem with installation.  However, doesn't seem to help now.  But if that is the problem, how can I turn Bridge off from running in the background so I don't have to remember to exit it every time I reboot?
I use these small video clips interspersed with still pictures in a slideshow created with different software.  I won't ever be making large movies with menus, animation, and most of the neat features of PRE9.
    I'll much appreciate any help.
    PJP

No, my projects and video are on the 500 GB drive with 400 GB free.
I just went back into the 1.5 MB project, did nothing to it, just tried to play it.  That's when I get the message.  I now realize that is when I always get the message -- when I try to play.
I also decided to ignore the message and see what would happen. The color correction that I applied before only lasted for a few frames instead of for the entire clip.  Additionally, the audio is now messed up.
I was having none of these problems before I applied the 4.3 GB Content.  Could that be the problem?

  • Should an auto-shutdown because of critical battery change kernel_task usage at all?

I only ask because when my MacBook Pro 13" (Early 2011) 10.7.2, shutdown because of low battery, I put it on charge. The next day when I booted it up again it started running super-mega slow. The only reason I can find for this is kernel_task at 330mb, and about 300 % CPU.
It runs fine in Safe Mode.
The whole auto-shutdown is the only change I made between normal speed and claw-my-own-eyes-out speed.

    Fixed:
Plugged in power supply and rebooted, now it works fine.

keyboard and mouse are now auto-detected. Do you have xf86-input-evdev installed? If so, you do not need to explicitly set the drivers for keyboard and mouse in xorg.conf. You can try it out if you like.

  • Auto-Shutdown when ATV3 Sleeps?

    Hey Guys,
Hopefully I've got the right place.
I'm wanting to know if there is a way I can set my computer to auto-shutdown when the apple TV3 is put to sleep?
    Running Windows XP
I can set a task to schedule a shut-down at a specific time, but this wont always be the best option as partner can stay up lat and watch it.
Guess I'm just wondering if there's some advanced script or anything that will pick-up on itunes when its in sleep mode, and then set computer for shutdown?
And maybe just another thing to note, the drop down box below for product doesn't even have ATV3 listed haha
    Tks
    Steve

    >I'm talking about a setting on my computer to shut itelsef down
All computers can already be set to do that.
    >Setting the computer to shutdown on idle is an on-going argument I guess as well
Argument about what?  This is a standard feature on any computer and has been for over a decade.  If you would like to take adavanage of it then set it to do that.
    >Is streaming considered the computer being in idle mode?
No, the computer is actively running to server content and is receiving constant WAKE_ON_LAN requests.
    >Becuase it's just sitting there not doing anything
Not true.  It is serving the content which is a VERY active process.

  • Audio very low when i use blutooth Handset in my L...

    Hi,
I have the Handset BH-106 which was working fine with my old Nokia Phones, after i got the Lumia 920 i Found that the Audio became very low after start the Call, it will start good but dropping down with the time, it was very old so i decided to buy i new one and i have selected the BH-217.
i have tested it in the store the Audio was perfect, after few days the same issue accure and now im sure its the Phone issue not the Handset.
i did soo many soft/Hard Resets, i also got the Portico update, and i got other nokia Update (like Audio and others) but nothing worked.
is it really the Phone Issue because i dont want to buy newer handset like BH-220 with no benifits !
what is the soulution and what is the best Audio Hanset (for phone calls only i dont listen to music), which is have a car base like the BH-217 and can go to stand-by Mode.
    Regards,

It seems like this is a common problem with the BH-217 and it's auto adjust volume. You should be able to adjust volume on the phone.
    Others have the same problem.

Any bluetooth headset should work for you.

    Hi All,
Gmatroni it should only need cti enabled but i have tried it with the control groups as well to no avail.he
Also tried deleting and recreating the application user.
    Rob,
Yes this was also my thinking.
I forgot to add i have tried upgrading the UCM to 7.0.3 and CUE to 7.0.3 to try and erradicate the problem.
The UCM is now back at 7.0.1 and the CUE at 7.03.
The compatiblity matrix said they should be compatible.
I still believe this is some kind of application/software incompatibility issue.
Maybe you could recommend a sugested patch?
    Cheers
    Kev

  • Ios 7.1 = no Wifi on iPhone 4s   very low battery runtime... HELP!!!

ios 7.1 = no Wifi on iPhone 4s + very low battery runtime... HELP!!!

Welcome, sorry to hear your news, there are numerous threads on this issue. Try the trouble shooting on the other threads, I do not recommend sticking it in the freezer or heating with a hair dryer though,
If it's within warranty and trouble shooting doesn't work, get it. Ack to apple ASAP and get it replaced.
Many others are in the same position, who also have a 4s
    Good luck

  • How do I fix my ipod classic that says very low batter after I have charged it and the problem persists?

I have an Ipod video 30g that says Please wait very low battery. I charged it for about a day and the problem persists. I've tried using some solutions on the internet and none of them worked including: holding the menu and select, holding select and play to put it in disk mode with no avail. Is there anyone who can help me!!!

    The Sad iPod icon.
However, as your iPod was purchased on Boxing Day, why not get it serviced under the warranty?
