I don't know what I can do
Please  I need help

simple little thing taht hp asked me to do works for everyone else but me. well it works for awhile i cant atleast game for 3 hr instead fo just 10mins then it shuts down.
disable ur wireless card and just plug in an ethernet cable. or just dont use it at all. it works for awhile. but hey 3 hrs over 10mins is still better right.
hp has yet to be able to fix my computer. its had 6 trips to their repair center now with nothing to show for it. bottom line HP is CRAP. sorry for ur loss. aswell as everyone else on these forums trying to get help and the ppl helping them. its sad. its the community that helps fix their problems not HP techs.

I have never been able to use my built-in webcam.  I have installed the latest Youcam drivers and still an error message - "No webcam detected, if you are using an integrated camera make sure that it is turned on".
I have also followed instructions on this website - I have gone to Device manager and "scan for hardware changes" but I never get an icon for "imaging" hardware.
I know the computer has the hardware as my parents have an IDENTICAL computer - bought from the same shop at the same time!

    Hi
You have a couple of options as I see it please try these steps might help you to fix the issue.

Testing a Webcam With MediaSmart in Windows
If both these links does not work then you might have to call HP Techincal support and get the part replaced.
If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the drive replaced.
If you are out of warranty and would like a guide on replacing the Hard Drive yourself, please let me know.

  • HP G62-120ey RAM problem.

Recently i bought a kingston 8gb ddr3 sodimm ram plate and replaced the two stock ram plates.
But after powering the laptop on - it crashes. Says, that i have to check my hardware. Before buying the ram i did a little research and found out, that my chipset supports maximum of 8gb (huh?).
What could be causing the problem? Thank you.

    Hi,
Although your notebook supports a maximum 8Gb of Ram, this is the total if both slots are used.  Each slot independently only supports a maxmum 4Gb Module.

my hp pavilion dv1000 (1615ts) has an overheating problem and shuts down suddenly.  please help..

with that age of laptop we immediately suspect an issue with dust clogging the exhaust fan or the thermal compound between the heatsink and fan breaking down and needing to be replaced. The laptop needs to be opened and inspected in other words.

  • T60p overheating problem

    Hi everyone
Having a bit of an issue with my T60p overheating (idle @ 70C/158F; fan at 3500 rpm ) and would like to know if there are any solutions. Googled it and it seems that many people have experienced the same problem but haven't seen any solution that didn't require serious hardware modifications to my fan.
    So my question is this:
is there a replacement fan that could improve my cooling system, and if not are there any other solutions?
    Thanks

Question: Do you really want to restrict the performance of your system by under-clocking? On the contray, I wish it to perform to the max........
Firstly, over time the Fan will suffer from wear and tear, please note it may not be necessary to replace the fan, it can be serviced. remove the fan and use 1 small drop of high grade machine oil to the centre spindle.
I used 10W Nano-Oil from Chriatian StClaire, I prefer to use the best but "sowing machine" oil will suffice. After reassembling the fan, you may find it runs smoother/quieter/faster, subsequently helping to dissipate a little more heat and reduce noise.
Secondly, over time the Thermal Pads which transfer the heat will deteriorate and may need to be replaced,  but if you prefer to optimize heat transfer, do not replace these two Pads, use Copper Shim to plug the small gap and use a high grade Thermal Paste (on both sides of the Shim).
I used only ONE 12mm x 12mm x 0.8mm Copper Shim (can be purchased from eBay) and left the CPU and GPU dies bare (no Shim).
Thermal Paste was Shin-Etsu X23-7783D, note that not all Thermal Pastes from this same company are equally as good, be specific to the item number.
Link to Copper Shim mod, in theory it is the same, to increase transfer of heat away from the processors :-

I find it best to use the "pea" Thermal Compound application after warming the tube of Thermal Paste ib hot water for afew minutes.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyXLu1Ms-q4
This worked for me, but there are many factors which may determine it will not work, ie: correct application of thermal paste : too much gap between the GPU die and Thermal Heatsink etc.
Previously, I too had "lock ups" due to over heating issues, now stable. My modified T60p Core 2 Duo T7600, 120GB SSD, 4GB RAM (2x2GB), FireGL v5200, Win 7 64bit performs demurely but at a blistering pace.
I have Core Temp readings of........ Core #0 40 degrees & Core #1 41 degrees on  0% load.
                                                           ........Core #0 83 degrees & Core #1 84 degrees on 100% load using Prime95.

  • HP G62-220ca boot problem, wifi whitelist issue : ID du module WLAN (702)

    Hi,
For no apparent reason 6 months after formating my Customer 's laptop his original wifi card is giving him an error code when he boots his laptop. Bios was already updated and all other parts have been tested fine. I just ordered and received another original wifi module and still giving that ''(702)'' error on system boot. Removing that part will allow the laptop to boot correctly, but a laptop w/o a wifi component is pretty much useless for him !
    Laptop brand : HP
    Model: G62-220CA
    Actual BIOS vF.29
    Any idea why/how that happened?
    Thanks

  • Problem with display hp g62-361tx

    HP G62-361tx
    Core i3 processor
    Ati mobility radeon hd5470
    3gb ram
Ok guys I have a serious problem. The display of my laptop goes haywire and shows pink and white chess board type squares and goes off. It happened before too, when the display used to suddenly show thick lines and the display used to become very pixellated, and then the display and laptop turned off. It happend 2-3 times and then after that whenever I switched my laptop on, no display was shown ( though connecting it with a vga cable to a monitor showed huge  pixels and with very different colors) . I took it to a Hp service center and they said that I will have to change the motherboard because of some problem with the graphics card. And plus they said a spare motherboard was rarely if ever available for this model so I will just have to dump my laptop. Still I somehow got it repaired from a mechanic, but the problem has started again.
I've updated the ati graphics driver. Not updated the BIOS or any other software. I used to play a lot of games but have since stopped.

I have the exact same problem on the exact same model. Got the problem after ~2.5 years of  purchase of the laptop. The service center guys couldn't find a new motherboard here in India, so they imported a similar on of Compaq brand with a different graphic chip on it (ATI Radeon HD6300M) after a month or so. But I'm facing the issues again after 6 months and I'm out of my extended warranty now.
What did you do to fix the problem?

I have a problem with HP G62, the first not to charge the battery so I took out the CMOS battery, now will not turn on ...........pls help

    Hi notg62,
    Welcome to the HP forum!
The"battery not charging" message  is referring to the  notebook  battery not the Cmos battery.  The computer will not start without the Cmos battery.  I recommend replacing the Cmos battery back. Please be sure to be grounded when you replace it, to prevent damage to the CPU.
Here is a document on Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 7).  Please let me know if this is resolved.

I clicked on BIOS (F10) and when to "Diagnostics" and clicked on both of the 2 options. the first option said "Memory Test", i did the memory test and it passed. When i did the other option "Primary Hard Disk Self Test" is said "Hard Disk Not Exist"
    Any help for this issue?

Unfortunately I have bad news for you.
The BIOS diagnostic  test confirms that your hard disk has failed.
Is your G62 notebook still within its warranty period?
    If it is...Contact HP
If not.'.gather your HP Recovery disc set and purchase and install a new hard disk..
    Best regards,

  • BIOS problem - HP G62-b13st

    Good morning,
I have a problem with my HP G62-b13st notebook. Yesterday I had to replace CMOS battery. Now I don´t have problem with losing time, date, etc. But i have a new problem. When I turn on a notebook, notebook not show HP logo and help to enter the BIOS, only black screen is showing. After 3 seconds system begins to starting. When I turn on notebook and I pushing the Esc key, notebook do nothing and notebook automaticaly continues to loading Windows.
So now I can´t change boot sequence, show System information etc.
I tried install new BIOS, downloaded from HP web site, but Flash utility only showed BIOS version: F.48 - 1439 and after a few seconds is notebook restarted, but problem persists.
In addition to this problem, notebook works fine.
Please anybody to help me, because I like to entering into the bios settings, because if I will have a problem with loading Windows, I will have problem with setting boot sequence from USB memory.
Thank you very much and sorry for my english.

Try hitting F10 instead of ESC while it is booting up. That might get you into the BIOS.
If that doesn't work, I would try rolling back to an older version of the BIOS to see if that helps resolve the issue.
Here is a direct link to the BIOS update before the most recent one: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-87897-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...

    Product: XR486EA#AB8
    Model: G62-b14ST
    I need help! Thank you.

    Hello, Garrylily
I see that your trying to get the graphics installed after installing Win7 onto the notebook. I will try to assist you with this.
    1) are you using the drivers from here: HP G62-b14ST Notebook PC Drivers.
    2) if you are, installed the Intel driver first, then the amd driver.
    3) if it's still blue screening, try installing the drivers from safe mode
    4) if it fails from safe mode, the issue could be with the installed OS, try a recovery. (make sure to be using the recovery media for the notebook, so that your installing the OS that was on the notebook)
    5) try drivers again (intel then amd)
    6) contact phone support:

  • Problem with HP G62 Recovery Disks

    Hello,
I am having a problem with restoring the operating system on an HP G-62 Notebook. When I first purchased the notebook I was unable to make the recovery disks, so I recently ordered some new ones from HP. Because I has installed Ubuntu on the notebook, I wiped it from the hard drive used Wipedrive to delete the old Ubuntu operating system I had installed.
The notebook reads the first disk ok and installs part of windows, but when the screen comes on asking for disk number two it freezes up and never installs anything when you try to move anything on that screen it wont do anything and it wont install the second disk. It just keeps saying 'please wait'.
    Thanks, Robert
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi, Robert:
I can't help you to get the recovery disks to work, but if you can read all 25 characters of the windows 7 product key on the bottom of your PC, you can make your own windows 7 installation disk to reinstall the operating system.
    Here's how:
If you can read the 25 character Microsoft windows 7 product key, you can download plain Windows 7 ISO files to burn to a DVD for the version of windows that came installed on your PC, and that is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC's case.
Burn the ISO using the Burn ISO option on your DVD burning program and burn at the slowest possible speed your program will allow. This will create a bootable DVD.
Or use the Windows 7 USB/DVD installation tool to compile the ISO file you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB method of compilation.
    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool
Use the 25 character product key on the PC to activate the installation.
The key will activate either a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the PC's support and driver page to install the drivers you need.
Link to the W7 ISO file downloads is below.
