HP G62 Windows Startup error recovery Failure

Notebook:
HP G62 - 228CL
Running Windows 7 64-bit
Hello everyone, I need a bit of help.
My computer will boot windows 7. When I start it up, it tries to boot up.  I then get a Windows failed to boot message on the windows error recovery screen and asks me if I would like to use Windows Startup Repair Tool to fix the Problem. But the tool never starts up. It just leads to a windows background and does nothing. I have also tried using f11 System recovery but it does nothing.

Hi,
Firstly, regarding your existing files.
One possible way to try and retrieve your files from a non-booting drive is to follow the process detailed in the link below.  The Ubuntu operating system CD you create can run from the CD alone ( ie it doesn't have to install on the Hard Drive ) and I've often found it to be successful in retrieving data even from a failing Hard Drive.  When you've created the CD, follow the instructions and see if you can back up your existing files.
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/use-ubuntu-live-cd-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-windo...
Secondly, regarding the replacement of the Hard Drive.
The drive on the link below is an example of one that would be fine for your notebook.
500Gb Hard Drive
The procedure to replace the Hard Drive starts on Page 52 of your Maintenance & Service Guide.
Once done, simply use your Recovery DVDs to reinstall the Operating System on the new drive - the procedure is described in the HP document Here.
If you don't have your Recovery Discs, you can order a replacement set using the link below.
Order HP Recovery Discs.
If you have any problem with this link, order them directly from HP.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.
If you are in another part of the world, start Here.
Best regards and happy holidays,
DP-K

I have a HP dv4 1275mx laptop and I just replaced the hard drive.  I got the Vista 64-bit hp system recovery discs from HP but the recovery has failed 4 times.  The hard drive is brand new and has more space than the old one.  It's a Western Digital 640 gb scorpio blue sata 5400 rpm.  Windows will not complete the download.
On the original hard drive, I upgraded to Windows 7.

  • CF Startup Errors: swsoc.exe and swagent.exe

I've installed CF Standard on a new box and am receiving
Windows startup errors for swagent.exe and swsoc.exe. Two of the CF
services (ODBC Server and ODBC Agent) also will not run - I believe
    the two events are related.
Does anybody have any suggestions or experience with
    this?

Thanks. I reinstalled - no change. I applied the latest MX
updates - no change. I reset my personal firewall (McAfee) to the
default values and this time allowed all the verity programs (3 or
    4) access to the Internet - low and behold, fixed.
My guess is that there is some sort of "call home to mama"
code that fails miserably if it can't.

    Model PSC36L-003003 SN   XXXXXXXXX
Boot is set to hard drive first and CDRW second.
    Turn on the computer
8 seconds later it goes to Windows Error Recovery.
When I choose Launch Startup repair, it goes straight to Windows Boot manager. See #6.
When I choose Windows start normally, it goes to “Starting Windows”. After several minutes, it recycles to Windows Error Recovery Screen and then to Windows Boot Manager screen. See #6.
If I choose neither, it goes to Windows Boot manager; Windows failed to start; Status: 0xc000000e Info:       The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible. I do not have the Windows Installation disc.
    Action taken:
Created a Window 7 64-bit system repair disk on another computer.
Changed bios boot to CDRW first and hard drive second and saved.
Inserted System repair disk into CD drive.
Turned on computer and pressed any key.
Windows loaded files from repair CD disk.
A Windows blue background screen with leaves appears without Windows logo (not the blue screen of death); files load and cursor appears; CD stops running; but nothing else happens with screen for eight hours.
I do not have the Windows Installation disc.
Please, what do you think is wrong with the computer or what should I do next?  Your help will be greatly appreciated.  How do I confirm that it is Windows 7 32 or 64 Bit?  I am trying to fix this for my friend who probably bought it in the Indonesia area.  Thank you in advance.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 1334us won't start after windows update, stuck in Error Recovery

My computer is an HP Pavilion dv6 1334us with 32bit-windows 7. The computer did automatic updates and when it started up said there was another one avaliable through WIndows Updater. I installed the update and it said the computer needed to restart for the update to take effect. I choose to restart and the computer wouldn't boot back up, it boots to the 'Windows Error Recovery' screen where my options are 'Launch Startup Repair (recommended)' and 'Start Windows Normally'. When I select the repair, it says it loads windows files, then goes back to the error recovery screen. When I choose to start normally, it freezes the second it trys to start, flashes a blue screen and then returns to the Error Recovery page again.

  • Error message 0xc0000034 at startup / no recovery drive / yoga 13

    Hi,
I have an urgent problem: at startup, there is the following message on my screen:
    Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
The Boot Configuration Data file is missing some required information.
    File: \BCD
    Error Code: 0xc0000034
You'll need to use the recovery tools on your instillation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer
Press ESC for UEFI Firmware Settings
When I press ESC (or alternativelzy F2 or F12 during startup) I get to the InsydeH20 Setup Utility.
I've searched online and did not find a solution. The main problem: I DON'T HAVE ANY INSTALLATION MEDIA! The notebook came with recovery partition on the harddrive. I applied the official Lenovo hotfix after receiving the notebook. The hotfix repartitioned the HD and also the recovery partition, I suppose. This was a long time ago and I never had any problems since. I also noticed that some time ago, Windows stopped downloading updates.
    Help is very much appreciated!!

MORE INFO: It does NOT seem to be an iCal problem; rather a system startup error-- or even when logging-out and logging-back-in I get this. It seems a -39 error is:
    -39
    eofErr
End of file; no additional data in the format
but I don't know what this means; nor why I'm getting this now, just today, at startup. Should I repair permissions or verify disk or???
    Any assistance really appreciated.

  • Help me, pls! Getting Windows Error Recovery of windows 7

Hi, my computer is in problem. It's Windows Error Recovery. Then, I did the steps by computer,I clicked the Startup Repair(Recommanded). A startup repair window appears and it scans the problems. It's scanning, I waited for several hours.. but it's scanning and scanning endlessly! It says "recovering disk error, this might take over an hour to complete".. yeah, more than an hour, I waited for five hours, nothing changed..scanning and scanning... What should I do?....

    Hi,
Try tapping F8 on startup to check if it loads to Safe Mode..If it loads to Safe mode then you can perform a System Restore...Also check the hard drive by tapping F2 on startup..
    OR,
Try the steps mentioned in the link below:
Actions when specific error messages display
    Note:
If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem

  • Windows 7 System Recovery Error 0x800700b7

    Hello
I have a HP NoteBook G62-225DX and it is not starting up (I am getting the blank screen with the cursor on top).
I tried putting the Windows 7 CD (64-bit) and do a System Restore to an earlier point but for every restore point I am getting "Windows 7 System Recovery Error 0x800700b7" and no restore is happening.
Whata is the solution - Reinstall The OS ?
    Regards
    Abdul G

Enter BIOS by tapping away at the F10 key immediately after powering on.Use Diagnostics to test the hard drive. If all tests are ok, try Restore again..if no joy, then a full System Recovery may be needed.

  • Network drivers not working and Windows Error Recovery Message issues

I have a ThinkPad laptop T530 series in which about five of my network adapters are showing the exclamation mark in a yellow triangle next to them. When clicking on properties, it states that" this device will not start--code 10." I have tried the network sharing troubleshooter and this has not worked.
The second issue I am having is that upon starting my computer I am constantly getting a Windows Error Recovery message which I have to press on the proceed to Windows as the startup repairs do not seem to rectify the issue.
I would very much appreciate if someone could help me resolve these issues

I don't have a solution to your main problem, but I have one for the error message.
If I am right, then Airport is causing the problem. 192.168.1.1 is the address that the Airport Base Station will take right away. To fix this, you need to go into Airport Admin Utility. Click on your base station and click "Configure." Click on the "Network" tab. Now it should look something like this:
    http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa187/adam_0/Network%207-28-07/Picture2.png
The problem is that the Airport is using the same IP number set as the router that you have. If you disconnect or unplug the Airport, then that would fix it easily, but if you want to keep your Airport connected, then all you need to do is pick one of the other number formats, like this:
    http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa187/adam_0/Network%207-28-07/Picture4.png
Now, I'm no expert on this stuff, but from what I understand, this could get you one step closer to your destination. Good luck!

  • Satellite C660-1FS - Windows 7 startup error

Hello to everybody. I have this laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium (no installation disk given by purchase). Since this morning I experience the following message/problem
    Windows Error Recovery
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. If windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, startup repair can help diagnose and fix the problem. If power was interrupted during startup, chose start windows normally
    Launch Startup repair (recommended)
    Start Windows Normally
Both options do not work. Furthermore, Windows cannot enter in Safe Mode. I live in Belgium and I don't know what to do. Shall I try with a friend's windows 7 installation disk (from Dell notebook) or I should contact Toshiba directly?
    Thanks in advance

Check if you can recover the notebook using HDD recovery procedure as described here:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm
If this will not work, you will have to install the OS using recover disk.
I assume you have not created the recover disk in the past. Right?
In such case you need to order the recover disk from here:

  • JRE 1.5.0_11 Startup Error with MS Windows Vista. Please help!

Hi there, I am hoping that someone can help me with this very confusing problem. A friend of mine made a program for me last month using java. It works brilliantly on computers running MS Windows 2000 and XP but as soon as I installed it on one running Vista I get this error:

I would really appreciate any help that anyone can give me as this problem needs to be resolved as a matter of urgency and my friend who made the software has gone on holiday and I cannot get hold of him at the moment. Also, I apologise in advance if this is the wrong section to post this problem.
    Thanks!

Seems to be a problem with exe4j. Ask your friend to deploy a platform independent version of his program as well.

    * There is a big problem with the HP recovery manager which fails to recover windows. Many have reported in this forum and other forums....but HP has failed to attend this issue and fix the problem in their recovery manger or atleast show a workaround to restore the windows.
My laptop was drastically slow after the reinstall from the HP support.....and now when i decided to reset and recover the windows.....it fails. Unfortunately my laptop is out of warranty.
This is pushing me away from any HP and will never ever buy or recommend anyone to buy a HP product.

    Order # BDTP356101
    * I had an issue with the HP recovery manager in creating recovery disc. I did contact the HP support as my warranty was still in place. They took my laptop and reinstalled the OS and sent it back to me.
Even after that i could not create a recovery disk and they send me a USB recovery device.

Set the date in BIOS to 1/02/2012. Save & Exit. Boot with Recovery, let it run through the process- but on the first reboot initiated by recovery enter BIOS again to insure date is still set to 2012. If not change it again, then let recovery resume.

  • CS6 in Windows 8 Startup Error

    Hello,
I just bought a new laptop, a Sony Intel i7 with Windows 8. I just bought the creative cloud and opened up Premiere pro. I got this startup error, "Adobe Premiere pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again.
I've seen forums discussing this issue, but nothing has worked. I tried it in admin and nothing. I went to my graphics properties and changed the power settings to maximim performance, nothing.
Does it have to do with it being on windows 8?

So, you did everything it says here? http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/error---preludevideo-play-modules.html
What is the exact brand/model graphics adapter/chip and the exact device driver version?
If nVidia, find the driver driver version
Right click in any open area of the Windows desktop
Select NVIDIA Control Panel from the popup window
Select SYSTEM INFORMATION at the lower left corner
Driver version should be the 1st line in Details
