HP G62t-350

Hey, guys, I searched the forum and I didn't see anyone with my model having this issue.
I was having fan issues and I read that a BIOS update might help my issues. I had already cleaned the fan and checked everything. I figured it couldnt hurt.
During the update my computer crashed from overheating(something I didnt anticipate)
Now when I try to start my computer I have three issues.
One: My screen is black. It doesn't even light up. I've tried to connect it to an external monitor, this hasn't helped. The t.v. recognizes that there is a connection but it says there's no source.
Two: I hear two beeps about 10 seconds apart. After the second beep nothing else happens.
Three: Occasionally it runs through this weird loop. When I power it on it stays on for about 40 seconds, shuts down, automatically starts up and repeats.
A few months back I did a clean install. I don't think I removed the HP partition but I don't remember.
I do hear my fan and what I assume is my hard drive booting up.
Any help is appreciated
Edit: I accidently a word.

Hi herbsnpotatos,
Welcome to the HP forum!
Thank you for you post, I will do my best to help you resolve this.
I understand that the computer beeps on startup, but completes boot and functions normally.
Here is a document on Computer Does Not Start and the LEDs Blink or the Computer Beeps. You can run the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI to test for hardware failure.
Have you done all the Windows updates?   If none of this has alleviated the issue, I would run the HP Support Assistant to help with resolving issues and updating drivers.  Please let me know if you require more help.

  • Where can I find the integrated webcam for my HP G62t-350 Notebook PC?

Just like the title asks, where can I find the integrated webcam for my HP G62t-350 Notebook PC? I have what looks like a rectangle in the top center of the screen/lid, in the bevel, but I'm not sure of how to get it to work, or if it's even able to work! I've seen pics of where there is a gray circle or dot in the middle of that rectangle, but I'm not able to see if I have one or not. Would someone please help me out here?

  • Micronet 500 GB Hard Drive NOT recognized after 1 year of seamless use

    Micronet 500 GB Hard Drive
    Firewire 400 and 800.
I always use the 800. I plugged it in today and the hard drive start-up fine as usual. Without even looking on the desktop I opened Final Cut and it told me it could not locate my scratch disk (I always use the 500gb for FCP). I've tried different cable, and using the Firewire 400 instead of the 800. I don't know what to do, I had wanted to put some things on video for christmas and I don't have space on my startup disk to put video (hence the need for the external). Please someone help me, I don't know what to do. I'm terrified of the thought that my external could be dead or something like that. Please help! Thanks, Mike!

As an alternative, if you can still read the 25-digit Windows product key on the Microsoft COA affixed to the bottom the computer, you can install Windows 7 Home using this key. Please see "How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc" for instructions on how to download Windows 7, create the installation media, and install Windows 7 using the 25 digit product key from the Microsoft COA on your computer. • Hard drive not booting after use of Recovery Manager on USB

The hard drive on my newphew's  HP G62t-350 CTO Notebook was failing. I was able to create a recovery USB in the Recovery Manager. I installed a new 120 GB SSD. The original hard drive was larger, can't remember now but 250 or 500 GB. I know the Recovering the System after the Hard Drive is Replaced (Windows 7) says "To avoid problems, install a hard drive as large or larger than the replaced hard drive," but that's a question for later.
Computer booted fine from USB (in fact, is set to boot from USB if present by default). Recovery Manager starts. I choose minimal install. It goes through the process of partitioning the SSD and copying files. Then says to remove external media and reboot, computer will reboot several times during the process, blah, blah, blah. I pull out the USB and reboot, but after POST I get "No bootable media present".
If I try to reboot leaving the USB in, it boots to USB and we're back at the beginning. I am able to confirm with a rescue disk that the SSD has one NTFS partition that has had Windows files copied to it, and a large amount of unallocated space. (Something like 60%/40%.)
    So:
How do I make the hard drive bootable, and if it were bootable, would the recovery process complete?
What's going on with the partitions? Is it creating the recovery partition first, and then after boot the recovery partition installs the OS? If so, I might have to abandon this process because since I'm moving to smaller storage, I don't want to devote half of the drive to a recovery partition.
Would official recovery media help? A tech told me that it would, but was not able to explain to my satisfaction why the USB I created with Recovery Manager didn't work, so I am suspicious about the claim that media created by HP as opposed to media created by me using HP's own software would be any better, and since the computer is out of warranty I don't feel like spending $30+ to find out.
    This question was solved.

    @unick,
Have you tried doing a factory restore? Did you have this issue when you first have the laptop? I understand you wrote that this issue came after 2 weeks? Is there any antivirus software which you have installed? Appreciate if you could try a factory recovery first if you haven't done so.

I am using Pages 4.3. I created a Document using Pages 4.3 that is 280 MB (it is 350 pages long). Will I be able to open it in Pages 5.0?

    Hi,
    WARNING
it´s impossible (for me) to open Pages 5 documents in Pages 4, which is absolutely no go. You can open any f..... word.doc but no pages 4.
Apple is getting worser every day, it´s a shame. There is no information about this before you buy it.
So now you have to ask your friends or colleagues to convert a pages 5 document to a word document, so you can open it with pages 4. Hoiw ridiculous is that?
Pages 5 is a joke. In 5.0 they forgot to manage the task-bar, which came shortly after 4 weeks or so in 5.1.
The only good: you can run ist parallelly to pages 4.3 but it´s not worth the money.

  • Upgrade for a G3-350 with Mac OS 8.6

My son was recently given an old imac from 1999. The only infor I can find for it is that it is a G3-350 and the OS is 8.6. What would I be able to upgrade the OS to? I am a pc user, and this is my first time dealing with a MAC, so I don't know anything about it. I want to hook him up to the internet, but I wanted to do some upgrades to the computer so it was a little more efficient. TIA for any suggestions that help me not have to take it to the apple store. Thanks!

I still use an old iMac 350 for some OS 9 stuff. It ran much better when I kicked the RAM up to 192 (128 added to the original 64). Also, the 3.6v battery needs replacing every 2-3 years.
Indeed. My iMac DVSE was having quite a few issues with various random system crashes. I installed a new battery, and the crashes went away! I'm not sure why a battery can affect system performance so much, but it worked!
As far as RAM goes, my old iMac came with 128 MB - two 64 meg cards. I added a 128 MB (for 192 MB) and the iMac greatly increased in speed under OS 9.2.2! I eventually added a 256 MB card in addition to the 128 - for 384 MB - and OS 9.2.2 just screamed on the old iMac - it must have been a double in speed from 192 MB, running memory hungry programs in particular! It seems OS 9 likes 192 MB and runs best under ~384 for most applications. My G4 was originally running 192 MB, and an upgrade of 384 had a similar speed-up affect. I have it running with 768 MB right now - and there's no real increase in speed under OS 9.
As far as OS X goes - if you can add OS X, make sure you fill the RAM on that iMac - according to Apple, it will support up to 512 MB of RAM. It won't run anything higher than OS 10.3.9 either. Also, make sure you download and install the Firmware update before loading OS X!
A good place to buy RAM is Other World Computing: http://eshop.macsales.com/MyOWC/Upgrades.cfm?model=120&type=Memory&TI=2817&shoup grds=Show+Upgrades
They sell RAM for pretty good prices! $12-15 for 128 MB cards, for example.
The site for the firmware update is: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75430. Make sure you install it before loading OS X if you have a slot-loading Mac - which your 350 almost certainly is.
Good luck, and enjoy your iMac!

  • Need Help with iMac 350 - Won't boot - keyboard or mouse not working!

    Hello,
I've scoured the web looking for answers, and can't find any, so maybe someone here would be kind enough to help. I'm working on an imac 350 blueberry for my sister and I'm having all sorts of trouble.
She bought it last week, it started up (8.6 os) no problem. Powered up and down a few times, then all of a sudden, it won't boot. I'm currently getting blinking folder/happymac/question mark when trying to start up.
Here's the big problem - the keyboard and mouse do not work now. I've tried three different mice and three keyboards and no dice with any of them. I have the 8.6 CD from her previous imac (bondi), and I can hear it spinning, but there is no way to start up from cd.
I've also tried 2 other hard drives with the same results.
Tried resetting CUDA on logic board, taking out battery, no change. Bought new battery- no change.
I would love to at least get the keyboard working to see if I can even startup from cd, anyone have any clues on how to get it working? The strange thing is that the keyboard has a power on button, and it works to start the thing up, but dies when it tries to boot. Sometimes I just get a grey screen with the pointer icon, and I can move the pointer with the mouse for a second or two, then no response.
I appreciate any help or suggestions on locating the issues!
    Thank you!

When I said "but dies when it tries to boot" and "..then no response." I meant that the keyboard works to power up the computer, but won't work for anything else. So, I am figuring that the usb ports are supplying power to the keyboard and mouse, but the usb ports aren't relaying information from the keyboard or mouse.
How do you know the mouse isn't working? Won't you have to wait until later in the boot to tell?
The poweron key is a special case. I think that it works by lowering/changing the voltage on one of the usb cables. I read about this somewhere. Anyway, this function was eliminated from later usb keyboards and macs. Maybe a working power button doesn't mean what you think.
I would love to boot into open firmware
Could you try powering up from the machine? Is there a power button on the lower right of the machine?
Have you tried this key combo?
    commandoption+of
The letters are in lower case. Hold all down then poweron the machine. I'd poweron from the machine as apposed to the keyboard.
You could try another usb keyboard.
We actually did boot up the computer several times with it upside down. Not for any reason, except it's become a real PIA to flip it over every two minutes to start it, then take it apart and boot again. When booting either upside down or right side up it shows the same thing - blinking folder w/finder icon and question mark.
Yes, I agree. You could try removing the clear plastic around the bottom of the machine. At least you will not have to slide in the carriage. Note. The tv portion will still be surrounded by plastic! Don't remove the plastic around the tv!
Hope I am not interfering with Richard and his comments.
Richard: Is this the orginal keyboard? When did Apple get rid of the poweron key from the keyboard? My iMac 600 didn't have the key and my iMac 233 does.

  • Unknown indexes in ABAP dictionary for a BW SAP_BW 350 ?????????

    Hi all,
can anyone help me with the procedure to handle unknown indexes in ABAP dictionary for a BW SAP_BW 350 Production system?
The list of some of the indexes are as follows :
    /BI0/E0CCA_C11~P
    /BI0/E0FIGL_C01~P
    /BI0/E0OPA_C11~P
    /BI0/E0PS_C04~P

Thanks a lot in advance ....

    You should be able to delete and recreate indexes from the infocube performance tab, RSRV or DB02.   The bigger question is why these e fact table indexes are not being handled properly.  I would try searching OSS Notes to see if yo ufind one relevant for your DB;
This older Notes provides some good background

  • Sony TRV-350 8mm will not import correctly into iMovie 8.0.4 (Any ideas?)

I purchased a Sony TRV-350 because it is supposed to play all 8mm tapes, and has a bridge function that converts analog signal to DV. The camcorder also has inputs to connect a VCR to the camcorder and convert the signal to DV. I am trying to import hundreds of VHS and 8mm tapes to iMovie. I connect the camcorder via firewire to the computer. The computer recognizes the camcorder and has control of the camcorder. When I try to import the video everything seems fine. I can import a five second clip or twenty min. clip. The problem starts after you click "Done" on the importing screen. The importing screen closes, and the clip appears in iMovie. The problem is when viewing the clip in iMovie it is only half the length of the import. (I import a 10 min clip, only 5 min shows in iMovie) It seems like every other second is missing. So far I have tried these trouble shooting tips.
    1. Made sure the camera DV feature is turned on
    2. Made sure the camera is set to ilink
    3. The camera is set to NTSC with 30 FPS
    4. Opened played a note and close Garageband
Someone suggested I should try find a copy of iMovieHD (6.0.3) and try importing the videos. If you think this will work let me know.
Any suggestions, idea or help would be greatly appreciated. I am a new mac user, so please give detailed instructions.
    Thanks for your time.
    Tyrel

I believe the new 8 core mac pro only has firewire 800 connecters. So you would need a converter cable to connect your camera. Is that how you system is setup? If so, what kind of converter are you using? That could be the cause of your problem. A blue screen usually means you have some sort of connection issue.

  • Photoshop Album 1.0: How do I reconnect 350 "edited pictures" showing as disconnected files?

I purchased and downloaded PS Elements 13 64-bit Win7 from the Adobe website to a new Dell Inspirion 64-bit with Win 7 Pro.  I have previously been using a registered copy of Photoshop Album 1.0 and Photoshop Elements 2.0 since 2005.  The most recent use was on a computer running Windows 7 Pro operating system using the virtual XP to run PSE.  That computer was fried by a lightning strike.  However, I retrieved the hard drive in good working order with files intact.  I am currently running the PSE program on an old PC with XP and accessing the picture files (9,600) on the old hard drive attached as an external J: drive.  My goal is to transfer all picture files to the new Dell Inspirion where the new PSE 13 resides.  I couldn’t get the PSE 2.0 program to access the picture files!
I finally figured out how to use MS Access to change the drive reference to J:/.
    1) there were a number of line items that seemed to be anomalies in the Access table.  Could these be a cause for the following disconnects?
It seemed that I was about prepared to transition to the new computer and PSE 13, but then after opening PSE 2.0, I found I still had about 350 disconnected files (indicated by a “?” in place of the pic icon).  I then determined that most, if not all of the disconnects, had one thing in common: they were all “edited pictures” and obviously some of my most valued pictures.  I have started to reconnect them one at a time, but it’s very time consuming!
    2) Is there a more efficient way to accomplish these reconnections?
If I understand it correctly, the PSE acts like a card catalog in the library where it simply references the actual location of the original and/or edited files.
    3) Ultimately, how do I transfer all the reconnected pictures and the associated files and folders to the new computer?
Thanks for any advice or assistance you can offer!
<edited by admin to be readable>

Thanks for your quick response.  I respectfully question with your conclusion that I am in the wrong forum!  Adobe Photoshop Album v 1.0 is the specific program I have used for nine years and that is the program I just reopened to verify it's title and that is the program wherein all the Adobe advice is to reconnect all my files before proceeding to convert to Photoshop Elements 13.  The original box describes it as "The fast and easy way to organize and share your lifetime of photos." My apologies for even mentioning the Photoshop Elements 2.0 (the original box describes it as "image-editing software" which I seldom ever used.  Apparently the functions of PSA & PSE has changed over the many versions, as I first went to the Elements forum and  I can't seem to find anyone in the PSE forum to offer any help.  Is Photoshop forum not the forum that would deal with Photoshop Album? There is a forum I see for Photoshop Album Starter Edition, but a quick review of messages seems to relate to something more recent than my product which is not entitled Starter Edition.  Thanks for any clarification in getting me to the right forum if this is not it!
