HP Imaging Device Functions

Officejet 4500 - G510g
error 0x00000570
Tried downloading software from HP site, along with updates and diagnostics and still unable to use my printer.  Any suggestions?

Hi @Ingerst,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you are getting the message "error 0x00000570," on your HP Officejet 4500. I am happy to look into this for you!
As I saw in your other post, you are using Windows Vista with a USB connection right? If not, please reply with the Operating System you are using and the version number. If you do not know the Operating System you are using, please visit this website. Whatsmyos.
Where do you see this error? On the computer during the install? On the printer? When you are scanning/printing?
Does it say anything else beside the error? Such as: ie: "Fatal Error" or "Problem with printer or ink system"?
Thank you for posting, and hope to hear from you soon!

  • HP Imaging Device Functions causing errors on LAN

I have 4 computers on my LAN.   For months now, I have been seeing errors on the Ethernet interfaces of 2 computers  (netstat -e). The errors occured at regular intervals and seemed to be asscociated with the HP Printer SW associated with the Photosmart C7280 which was configured as a network printer.     (TCPVIEW showed  the only network connections being made at the time errors occurred were to the printer.)    The performance of the Internet  Explorer  was poor and as other networking activities such as sending e-mail were very slow.
When booting the machines in Safe Mode with Networking,  the errors do not occur and the performance if IE was significantly better.    I finally got around to investigating this.   My first attempt was to turn off all printer shareing to stop communciation between machines.   This made no difference.    However,   as soon as I uninstalled HP Cutomer Participation Progam 10.0 and HP Imaging Device Functions 10.0 and restarted , the errors completely disappeared.   IE 8 ran like a charm and email clients stopped reporting errors when sending.   I suspect the problem is related to the Digital Imaging Device Functions but I am reluctant to reinstall lest the problem reappear.
Does anybody know the root cause?

After further investigation, I have narrowed this problem down to the Pml Driver HPZ12 service    By disabling this service and rebooting, the problem with errors appearing on the LAN interfaces go away and browsing the Internet is fast.
Along the way I noticed several things.   This problem may be related to the specific Windows Version or aggravated by other SW installed that uses the network.   I installed the complete suite of All-In-One Printer SW (V 10.0.1) on a freshly installed and updated XP Home Edition (SP3) machine with no other SW installed and  no errors occurred on the LAN interface even when I left the system running for days.      However, I un-installed and re-installed the same SW on an XP Professional (SP3) machine which has AV SW, Skype and other SW that uses the network  and the errors appear as soon as the Pml Driver Serv ice starts after booting.  If I disable the Pml Driver Service and reboot, there are no errors.   Now  here is the weird part.    If I manually stop/start the Pml Driver Service, I do not seem to get the errors.
If the Pml Driver service is enabled so that it starts automatically,  you get the errors, but typically the count grows to between 50 and 100 and then stabilizes.   However, if a program like Skype (which also uses UDP) starts automatically at the same time the Pml Driver service starts, then you get many more errors and the number keeps growing over time.  My guess is that the Pml Driver has a bug in its initialization but I cannot guess what it might be?   Port conflict?

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909G – The HP Imaging Device was not found

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless A909G.  My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit that was upgraded from the original Windows Vista 64bit that came installed on my HP Pavilion Elite m9400t CTO Desktop PC.
After performing the Windows 7 upgrade I installed OJP8500vA909_Full_13 to support the 8500, and everything worked fine.
I recently noticed that the scanner function had stopped working from Solution Center, and uninstalled V13.  I downloaded and installed OJP8500vA909_Full_14.  The install completes without error, but then I get scanner error “The HP imaging device was not found”  with extended error code 8, [(1,0, -2147221164)].
I have performed all the suggested Solution Center steps to resolve the error without success. Including:
    1) Updated the firmware to OfficejetPro8500A909g_R1006B_ENG
    2) Ran OJP8500vA909_Corporate_Scrubber_14
    3) Uninstalled all programs, deleted %temp% files, and changed the startup using MSCONFIG.
    4) Deleted all other imaging programs including camera software, and reinstalled.
    5) Performed HP Update and installed network fix.
I have performed these steps many times and keep getting the same error.   The scanner works using the front panel function “Scan to network folder.
    Please help.

First of all, i am sorry to hear your having a problem with your Scanning Feature on your PC. How is the computer and printer connected together?
Please download and run the following tool. This is what we call the HP Scan Diagnostic Utility.  After downloading and running the tool, can i have you reply with the problems (if any) it finds.  Thanks so much!

  • IPhone not showing up in iTunes or shows up as "imaging device" - Win XP

SOOO glad I waited in line for several hours today!!!
Anyone having issues with getting the iPhone to show up on a Win XP Pro machine??? I have tried to get the iphone working on two separate laptops, one a Dell M70 and the other a Dell M60, both Win XP Pro SP2.
I've gone thru all the self help steps, including re-installing iTunes. I downloaded it today.
On the M70... the device is recognized by Windows, but the computer treats it as an "imaging device" and iTunes does not find it.
On the M60... the device isn't even found. when I plug it in, I get a weird quick double beep sound, as opposed to the normal sound when plugging in a device to the USB port. About 30 seconds later, it makes the disconnect sound. All the while without disconnecting.
I'm thinking this sounds like a lovely trip back to the Apple store tomorrow. Oh joy.
Dell Precision M60 and M70   Windows XP Pro   XP Pro SP2

I saw this too - but closing iTunes and re-plugging the phone seemed to work for me. I seem to have the best luck when I plug in the phone with iTunes not running and allow it to open after the iPhone is connected...
    Good Luck!

  • Hi, firstly my ipod touch is working fine in itunes. i reformated my computer so i lost all my old drivers ect ect, so now my ipod shows up as an image device. i have reinstalled itunes several times and installed apple mobile device but still doesnt work

hi, firstly my ipod touch is working fine in itunes. i reformated my computer so i lost all my old drivers ect ect, so now my ipod shows up as an image device. i have reinstalled itunes several times and installed apple mobile device but still doesnt work, i have also searched for the usbappl or whatever it is and i cant find it, i have usbappl .dll but no .sys or .inf please help

All it is supposed to show up as in Windows is an image device.
If it's working fine in iTunes, what is the issue?

  • Windows XP can no longer "see" my iPhone as a camera/imaging device

can't sync photos from iPhone to computer; Windows XP doesn't even see it as a camera or imaging device. Weird, since iTunes is able to synch music/contacts.
No matter how I check, Windows XP can't find the device:
control panel --> scanners and cameras - nothing!
My Computer --> devices with removable storage - no iPhone
Computer Management--> Device Manager - no iPhone or scanner/camera

UPDATE - I think I've resolved my problem and that it is related to having my iPhone "passcode locked".
    1. I connected it and unlocked the iPhone, synced music, but had the problems I noted in my original discussion post
    2. I disconnected the iPhone, closed iTunes, reopened iTunes and reconnected the iPhone (making sure it was NOT passcode locked before connecting it) -- everything works fine.
    3. now I can get back to my original issue, was to figure out how to get only my NEW iPhone captured photos to synch, or at least have them date ordered. But that's a subject for another post.
BOTTOM LINE - passcode lock may be the key for those who are having problems with their PC not able to see the iPhone as a camera/imaging device

  • Disk image of HD -- "image/device too big"

I'm trying to make a disk image of my hard drive as a backup. I did this with the other three Macs in my house, using Disk Utility and saving them to an external Firewire drive. No problem. But when I try to do the same thing with my G5, I get a message saying "image/device is too big." If I was getting this message from my wife, I guess I'd be flattered ... from my Mac, not so much.
The thing is, I should have plenty of room. The external drive has 139 GB of space available and the G5 is only using 51GB. Get Info says I have 148 GB capactiy and about 97 GB available. Does the external drive need room for the whole 148 GB to create the disk?
The main difference between the other operations and the troublesome one is that I save the other Disk Images using my G5 running MacOS 10.4.11. The other Macs all were running 10.3.9. I'd access them in Target Mode on my G5 and save the Disk Image. When I tried to reverse the process and used the newest 10.3.9 machine (a G4) to save a dmg of my G5, I get the "too big" message.
Any suggestions? Would Carbon Copy Cloner (or something else) allow me to do this from the G5? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Adobe recently downgraded the "Image Size" function in Photoshop.  How do I get back to the old utility in which I could directly input the image dimensions in pixels?

How do I undo the damage Adobe did to the Photoshop Image Size function?

    No, it's not downgraded.
You can still enter the dimensions in pixels with the current dialog.  Just check [ ] Resample and change the units to Pixels before entering the number.  Voila.
The difference in the layout just takes a little getting used to, after which it becomes very natural to use.  To me it seems more logical now than one in the old versions of Photoshop, and of course the new Preserve Details (enlargement) resampling setting is WELL worth having.

  • Solaris 10 on Sun Ultra 40 --PCI system error on /bus/device/function 0048h

Everytime I boot to Solaris 10 (08/07) I get the following message at the top of my screen:
PCI system error on /bus/device/function 0048h
The system boots up successfully, but I find this error to be particularly annoying. I have no third-party cards plugged into any PCI slot.
Why am I getting this error. Is the BIOS just giving me a bogus error?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Robert

    Hello,
I even got the same Problem with an Ultra 40. After powering off and on the system during the last 3 days, now i got an error mesage, "CPU3 can not be started"
cleared the CMOS and now i am back on "PCI System Error on Bus/Device/Function 0048h" the system is running with the latest 1.7 Bios update.
First of all I tried to flash the system back to an lower version but the flashsoftware seems not to support this operation have to make own boot media with the flashprogramme and flash by forced the 1.0 or 1.2 version.

  • HT204074 The "Manage Devices" function not found in iTune

I cannot find the "Manage Devices" function in the iTune Account Information screen.  Any help?

The Function not found error is thrown when the OS can't provide the pointer to the function in the library to LabVIEW for some reason. For more information and common solutions see:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/44E40ACF1644DB77862562990054D672?OpenDocument
The only reason I can think of why the first time it works correctly is that the DLL is not correctly clean-up by the close functions. Thus causing a second request for the pointer to fail due to this. (closing LabVIEW will remove the DLL form memory and thus probably clearing the error).
    Hope this Helps

  • IOS 7 and Find My Device Function

Hello everyone, my first post so hopefully I don't screw up. I would like to ask about the new Activation Feature when you wipe your idevice and you will need your apple ID and Password in order to recover your device. So once you enable the "Find My Device" function and it ask you for your apple id and you give it, you are all set.
Here is my question, working in an enterprise environment, I would like to ask the Admin in the form with this kind of scenario:
You assign an iDevice to a New Hire (iPhone or iPad) and they are using the latest OS 7.x. The user sets up there Apple ID and Password and also enables “Find My iDevice” feature. Then the user leaves the company for whatever reason and now I have a device that I cannot re-assign to anyone else because I don’t have the users Apple ID and Password.
What do I do in this situation? What is apples solution to this problem? Please Share and Thank You In Advance.
    Josh

The devices in question are designed with an individual user in mind.  You are apparently interested in a mass deployment scenario.  I am not aware of any management software or profiles that could accomplish what you are asking,  That is not to say that they do not exist.  But this forum is more for user to user suggestions - as opposed to managing a number of devices from a business standpoint.  That being said, perhaps you would be better off having your IT personnel check with enterprise sales/support for business solutions allowing company control.
    Best of luck.

  • HP Imaging device not fount

When I updated from Vista to Windows 7 and reistalled the HP software and drivers, I keep on getting this error message.  I have done the deep uninstll level 4 (I have a Lenovo desktop) and reistalled the software.  I run the Scan and Fax Doctor and I keep getting a message to unplug, plug the usb, unplug from the wall ,etc. etc and to no avail.  I have uninstalled and installed the Photosmart Essential softwarre and well as the PhotoSmart Creations to no avail.  I am at wits end and to the point of buying an Epson Workforce and throw away this printer.

I am having the same problem with my OfficeJet J4550 on a Windows 8.1 laptop.  Every time I pull up the Solution Center to try and scan something to my laptop, I get the error message, "The HP imaging device was not found", along with steps to try.   The extended error information code is 8, [(1, 0, -2147221496)].  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest software several times.  It will print, fax, and copy with no problem, just cannot get it to scan a document to the computer.  I was able to get it to work a few times when I first got this particular machine a year ago, but many problems since.
