HP internal Error 601

Hello,
I have started receiving Error 601 every time I am going to logo on to my ProBook 4520s, in the last 72 hours. What is it, what does it affect, and how do I correct this issue. Someone suggested I check to see if my battery was one of the ones recalled.

Then error indicates that the primary battery (the one you can remove and replace) has a hardware failure. You should run Battery Check in HP Support Assistant.

There is a solved thread on this page about this error. The solution is to replace the battery because its storage capacity is low. The right part number can be found in a maintenance and service guide. Go to Support and Drivers page, enter your model and look in User Guides section.

Error message Internal Battery 601. How do I get a replacement? HP G71 Notebook

I have 2 HP G71 Notebooks - with WIN 7; 4:0 GB; 64 Bit and both dispaly the Internal Battery 601 error message. How/where do I get replacement batteries?

Replacement battery is a HP EV06
you can buy it from HP or Amazon, beware of really inexpensive non HP batteries, they do not last.

HP Mini 311 - HP Battery Alert - Primary (Internal) Battery (601) - Error Message at Startup

I have a HP Mini 311-1037NR (Product Number is VBM262UA#ABA). My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium.
When I start up my HP Mini 311 I receive the following message:
HP Battery Alert
The system has detected the storage capacity of the battery stated below to be very low. For optimal performance, this battery may need to be replaced.
Primary (Internal) Battery (601)
ENTER - Continue Startup
Here's are my questions:
First of all, what exactly is the problem here? From what I have googled, it would appear the problem is NOT my external battery, but my internal battery. What battery is needing replacement? Does it have a name?
Second, is there a user guide out there that would assist me with the replacement process that someone can provide a link to or at least send me the page that helps me? Is there a YouTube video (even better)?
Third, what exactly is the part number of the battery that needs replacement and exactly where do I purchase it (How much $$ does it cost)? This question is important as I may be able to find out how to replace the battery, but without a way to purchase the replacement battery I'm still dead in the water.
Fourth, my HP Mini 311 just dies when I unplug it. Will a remedy for the above issue remedy this issue as well? I really do enjoy using my little HP Mini, but would prefer to have the option to use it without a power cord.

I'd say you posted your question on the correct board. It's usually best just to post once on the relevant board. I do agree that the term 'internal' does cause unnecessary confusion.

Yes, I'm certain that the 601 error code refers to your notebooks main battery ( 602 is a failure code for machines that have a secondary storage cell ). Interestingly, there is no error code generated for a failing rtc battery - or any in built diagnostic test for it, just the usual symptom of the system clock re-setting after each shutdown.

Hp pavillion dv6z-1100 Internal Battery error 601

The Internal battery was replace with a new 3v.
After cmos battery was replace, the error continues to come up!
error 601.
Also ,my hard drive went bad, i plan to replace the hard drive with WD3200BEVT SCORPIO BLUE MOBILE
HARD DRIVE 320MB AND INSTALL OPERATING SYSTEM.

I am getting the same error. Laptop is only 2 years old. On startup, I get the message and the request to press enter to continue, but then I get a low white to gray screen and it does nothing. So I force power off and at this point I don't konw what to do. If it were the external battery, why would this computer not run on the power cord? My Dell laptops will run without a battery, just using the power cord for electrical supply. I recently replaced the power cord, since the one that came with the laptop failed (I understand this is a very common problem for this model).

Am using HP Pavilion dv6-3057tx for past 4 years now i got error regarding Internal Battery Error 601
and asked me to press ENTER. Today mrg onwards the laptop is not working. Not even it is getting ON.

The 601 error is a problem with the main battery which I suspect is just old. Have you tried removing the battery and starting the laptop with just the power adapter?

This error is a little confusing. At first glance it appears to refer to the CMOS/RTC battery but does infact refer to the main battery for the notebook. Even though the computer states that the battery is at 100% it would be a good idea to begin by verifying that it is in working condition. I think this is a good first step because while it does show 100% charge, you state the notebook does not work unless it is on AC power. This document discusses the issue further.
As stated in the document the HP Battery Check will need to be run in order to determine if the battery is faulty.
To perform the battery check perform the following steps and post the result.
Unplug the power cord and turn off the computer.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Press the Esc key immediately when seeing the HP or the Compaq logo screen.
The Start Up menu appears.
Press F2 to select F2 System Diagnostics .
Select Battery Test from the list of diagnostic tests.
Plug in the power cord.
Click Start Battery Test on the Battery Test page.
If your battery fails this test it will need to be replaced. To get a replacement battery you will need to contact HP Technical Support. If you are in the US/Canada you can call them at 1-800-474-6836. If you are located outside of this region you will need to go to HP's support site and after selecting your country/region locate "Customer Support" in the bottom right corner to get the contact information for your region.

Go to Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Activities ->
Transfers -> Define Movement Types. Here for movement type 601, here change the TO creation from 1 to 2.

If you create a a dataprovider, but the rowset is not in the sessionbean you may run into this problem. Delete the old dataprovider and created a new one and see if that gets rid of your problem.

                HP Pavilion dv7 . On start-up , message says that Primary (internal) Battery (601) charge is low and needs replacing .
               The PC operates normally on mains supply , so do I really need to replace the battery , being that I always use the PC powered by mains supply .
                If I really must replace the battery , where can I purchase the replacement from , and how much will the replacement cost ?

Hi,
Just to clarify, the 601 error relates to your notebooks main battery ( not the rtc cell on the system board ).
If you're happy with running the machine on mains power full time, there's no issue with that and you can simply remove the battery.
If you do want to replace the battery at some time, you can order a new one through HP Parts Store or ( and often less expensive ), just google the full Model No. of your dv7 series notebook including the term battery.

The error message 'Primary (internal) Battery (601)' actually refers to the notebooks main battery, not the RTC (cmos) cell.

6735b Error 601

We have three 6735b laptops that are coming with a 601 Error, internal battery.
The instructions I received, according to HP, was to hit F2, then choose the Battery Test. There is no Battery Test on this model.
Thoughts, please?

Error 601 is the main (big) battery and not the small (BIOS or CMOS or RTC) battery, lucky for you. I looked at your Manual and can confirm you have no battery test in the BIOS. Is any kind of Windows error popping up on the battery? Do you have XP, Vista or Win7? Can you charge to 100%, let it run down to 20%, then recharge to 100% and repeat the cycle 2 or 3 times, then measure runtime on the batteries? I am going to guess the laptops are at least 2 years old so they would be reaching the maximum number of cycles in ordinary use although it is a huge coincidence they all started this at the same time. If run time exceeds an hour (these are AMDs after all) I would say try swapping the batteries around and see if you get the same errors.

First of all the sicf transaction is to be used only if you use the internal ITS.
Now you have to put an external breakpoint in the source code of the ABAP Program or FM you want to debug , one of these in your case :
