HP Ipaq rx1955

Hello,
I have the HP Ipaq rx 1955 and have no trouble connecting to a Windows XP PC, but the rx1955 will not get recognized by any Macintosh computer. I purchased PocketMac Software for my Mac and that too can not see this Device.I have read reviews about Syncmac and PocketMac ,they both state that a Ipaq rx1950 series can be used on a Macintosh, I just can not find out why any Mac does not see this Device. Has anyone else been able to connect a rx1955 with USB to a Mac?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Mark/Space also advertises compatibility with the HP
iPAQ rx1955 and the Missing Sync for Windows Mobile,
but offers this caveat:
For USB connectivity, download the USB Switch from
HP and install it on your device.
Download the file from:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/handheldiPAQ/u
s/download/23359.html
To install the file to your device…
• use a Windows PC
• try to extract a CAB file from the .EXE file using
a third party application such as FileJuicer
• copy the file to an SD card which can be inserted
into the Windows Mobile 5 device and then installed
Once installed, select Serial USB as your connection
mode rather than RNDIS.
Although they are vastly different products, you'll
find generalized troubleshooting hints from
Mark/Space—applicable to Windows Mobile connection
issues with any software or device—here:
http://www.markspace.com/support/kb.php?x=&mod_id=2&ro

I downloaded Filejuicer and on my Mac extracted the CAB file. Copied on a Memory stick and went over to my PC and copied to my SD card. When I clicked on it, nothing seems to happen.
I have 4 setting under Connections, Beam/connections/Ipaq Wireless and Networking Cards.
You said “Once installed, select Serial USB as your connection mode rather than RNDIS.” But were I’ am I doing that. I can not find RNDIS to begin with. I did get a friends Ipaq 1940 and that connected right up. I didn’t have to do anything. The only 2 differences are, he has Bluetooth and I do not, and the MS Mobile version he is running is older.
Please help.

  • Issue with hp ipaq 614c and cisco ap

Hello. I tried to connect an ipaq 614c to a cisco ap1131 using wpa-psk tkip with no success. The ipaq connects without any problem to other access points including linksys. I've tried odysey client and I get the message: waiting for keys. The event log of the AP says: Packet to client reached max retries, removing the client. I am able to connect with other models of ipaq to the ap. Anyone know what the problem might be? I also tried disabling QOS but the result is the same.

Is the ssid only config for 1 security policy? I had an issue one time where the SSID was config for both WPA and WPA2 and i had issues. It wasnt till i selected just a single security policy that it worked.
You may want to try a real simple key at first. Try connecting it to an open network. Start 'unpacking' it so to speak...
You may see more info if you go into the CLI of the controller and debug the client. Also, if you have a layer 2 analyzer (AirMagnet or Peek you may see something of interest...)

  • JSP application developed for PC does not work on IPAQ

    Hi all,
I have developed a database/web application using JSP, Apache Tomcat, MS Access. It works great on Windows PC. Now I want to make sure that it works on PDAs also.
I tried using an IPAQ which runs Win CE 3.0 but I get some errors while interacting with the database.
One of the webpages in the application has a form through which the user can submit a text message and upload a file. Following are the problems that I am facing:
    1. The 'UPLOAD' button through which the user can browse his local hard drive and select a file is invisible if I am browsing with an IPAQ. I am using multipart formdata (MultipartRequest.java provided by Oreilly) for submitting a message and uploading the file. What could be the problem?
    2. If I forget about the attachment file and just try to submit a text message (which works on PCs) , I get the error message: "IOEXception: submitted data is not multipart formdata".
I am very new to PDA application development, and any inputs will be very valuable.
    Thanks in advance.
    m_asu.

I was wondering if anybody can give me some pointers as to how can I make an application developed for PCs work on IPaqs.
    Thanks

  • How do I run a Java Application on Pocket PC 2003 (iPAQ 2210)

I am writing an application for the iPAQ 2210. It will need to commuunicate over GPRS sending POST requests to a server (I think I will be using the Java.net package) the user interface will be very simple (a few buttons and text boxes) and will capture the data entered and send it back to the server (via the POST HTTP request) and read the response from the POST.
I believe I need to use the Personal Profile version of J2ME and I am only using the classes that it says are supported. How do I run the App on the Pocket PC. Having spoken to HP they have said I shouldn't need a virtual machine and that pocket pc 2003 has one built in! Is this so or should I get myself the Jeode Virtual machine?
Is the Jeode machine the best one?
Sorry to ask so many questions in one go, I'm a little lost at the moment!!
    Jon

    Hello Jon,
I will suggest you using IBM WSDD. Although it uses its own version of JVM(J9), but it suits to your needs well.
I think you should base your project on foundation profile(as you need some gui as well as java.net).

  • Error while running MI Application on IPAQ.

    Hello Experts,
I am trying to run an MI Application on the IPAQ after having deployed it in the SAP MI WebConsole. I have synched the IPAQ with the Web Application Server and the application got installed on IPAQ.
However, when I try to click on the Application Name link to run the application on the IPAQ, I get the following error stacktrace:
    "Internal Servlet Error:
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: java.util.Vector: method get(I)Ljava/lang/Object; not found at display._jspService() at org.apache.jasper.runtime.HttpJspBase.service() at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service() at org.apache.tomcat.core.ServletWrapper.doService() at org.apache.tomcat.core.Handler.service() at org.apache.tomcat.core.ServletWrapper.service() at org.apache.tomcat.facade.RequestDispatcherImpl.doForward() at org.apache.tomcat.facade.RequestDispatcherImpl.forward() at com.sap.ip.me.api.runtime.jsp.AbstractMEHttpServlet.dispatchRequest() at com.sap.ip.me.api.runtime.jsp.AbstractMEHttpServlet.doGetNotThreadSafe() at com.sap.ip.me.api.runtime.jsp.AbstractMEHttpServlet.doGet() at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service() at com.sap.ip.me.api.runtime.jsp.AbstractMEHttpServlet.service() at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service() at org.apache.tomcat.core.ServletWrapper.doService() at org.apache.tomcat.core.Handler.service() at org.apache.tomcat.core.ServletWrapper.service() at org.apache.tomcat.core.ContextManager.internalService() at org.apache.tomcat.core.ContextManager.service() at org.apache.tomcat.service.http.HttpConnectionHandler.processConnection() at org.apache.tomcat.service.TcpWorkerThread.runIt() at org.apache.tomcat.util.ThreadPool$ControlRunnable.run() at java.lang.Thread.run()"
I have installed CrE-ME 4.1 - J2ME-CDC implementation. Compliant with J2ME CDC 1.0 specification - based on JDK 1.3.1. and the SAP MI 2.5 on the IPAQ.
Also, I am able to install and run other MI Apps on the IPAQ.
Can anyone tell me if the JVM version that I have installed on my IPAQ is compatible with SAP MI 2.5? Also, if the above JVM version has the "java.util.Vector" related classes, as the stacktrace suggests so.
Please suggest if I need to do anything further or if I am missing something.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Venkata Rammurty A

    Hi,
MI on a PDA uses the Creme Virtual Machine, which only supports Java 1.1.8.
Actually the method you are calling was added with Java 1.2*, so its not there in the version 1.1.8.
Use the Method elementAt(int index) instead.
As well may try to compile your Application using a JDK 1.1.8 in order to detect such issues during development immediatelly!

  • HP IPAQ C310 died in less then 20 days.

I called Hp customer service on the 20th of July after i got back from vacation, because on my way down to my vacation place my GPS died. On my return i called HP customer service who told me I am sorry you are over the 21 days. I advised them i was on vacation, I was told that i should have called them while i was on vacation. So now that its over 21 days i cannot get my IPAQ C310 returned. I spoke to Joshua manager of customer in Philippines. explained to him that because i was on vacation i did not call but i did not make a difference to him. He told me he was going to fill out a form and have it reviewed and will call back in 2-3 days, I never heard from them till i called back. This time i asked him if i could speak to someone in America or someone above him, to take care of my problem as i did not believe he was going to solve my problem. I was told i cannot talk to anyone above him or to anyone in America. I asked why i did not get a call back as i was told by him in 2-3 days he had no answer to it. tried to talk around it. I asked him what he was doing in order for me to return the product as i no longer trust Hp products and i was told that he filled out a form again to review it and i will hear in 2-3 days. Here we go again I am sure i am not going to hear anything from him and when i call back will told thank you have a nice day. Can someone direct me or call me in reference to returning the HP junk product that they no longer make. This experience was so bad i don't believe i will ever buy an HP product in my lifetime. Lucky me I was going to buy a HP touch screen computer and a laptop and did not. If not i would have really lost a whole lot of money. I advice people never to buy HP, and we wonder why no one wants to buy these inferior American products and then get stuck with it and not get our money back when we try to return them. I am hoping someone is going to call me soon. I will keep this updated every time i talk to someone till I get my money back.
Pls HP take your junk back and give me my money back.

  • USE of CF 6004 with HP IPAQ 5550

    Hello
Could someone tell whether we could use CF-6004 with HP IPAQ 5550 PDA? as it looks that the size of the card is a bit larger to fit in the memory card slot.
    thanks
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
Natively you can not use the CF-6004 with the HP IPAQ 5500, as the IPAQ does not have a Compact Flash (CF) slot. However for the IPAQ 5500 you can buy a CF sleeve, I have seen some on eBay, but you should be able to get a HP IPAQ CF Sleeve from a more reputable location.
I hope this answers your question

  • How can I connect to a database from ipaq with cldc??

how can I connect to a database from ipaq with cldc??

    Hi Again
There is a library by Mimer which allows you do connect to a Mimer SQL Server, don't know must about it, but here is a link.
    http://developer.mimer.com/
If that doesn't suit you, I suspect that you will have to use some sort of proxy solution. Either by creating a servlet to accept the sql string you want to send, or by creating your own custom proxy server running J2EE. The servlet or the proxy server must be able to receive an SQL String, do the query to the actual database and return the results in some sort of format to the mobile device. Maybe just a space delimited string.
    Hope this helps

  • Using an IPAQ as a phone

I swear that a few years ago we set up an Ipaq on CallManager and was able to use it as a wireless IP phone. We had CCM 3.1, and I don't remember needing any special phone emulation software. Is anybody familiar with this setup? We now have CCM 4.01a(sr2)and I cannot remember how this was done. I have not been able to find any instructions, either. Thanks...

    Hello,
as the CCM is handling signaling for VoIP, the first question is, which signalling protocolls do you use?
Based on the answer I would look for an IP soft phone application and then ... RTFM ;-)
One Softphone which I have heard should work is "IP Blue VTGO!", which I was told even was bundled on the companion CD of the IPAQ.
Maybe you can check this and work from there.
A little Search revealed this on IP Blue and Call Manager interoperation:
    www.cisco.com/global/DK/docs/presentations/ IP_Blue_Cisco_Innovation_Day_May_2004.pdf
So this is what I would opt for. Seems to be a working solution without too much hassle involved.
Hope this helps! Please rate all posts.

  • Free Java Development in IPAQ: My Experience...

    Hi all,
I just finished testing my java application in a totally free platform, the only thing I payed for was my PDA.
I have two PDAs here at my work, a HP Ipaq 3870 and an HP Ipaq 5500. The challenge was to be able to run Java applications and also to use Bluetooth.
I started by searching the VM to use on my PDA.
On the WinCE side I tried Creme (very good) and tried IBM J9 or WSDD like it is called now (good). With Creme 4.0 or J9 i was able to run applications until JDK1.3.1, the difference is the Creme 4.0 already supports swing and in J9 u need an external package.
For Bluetooth i tried the avetana JSR82 stack with WIDCOMM driver for Bluetooth dongle, which was designed for CrEmE VM and I managed to setup connections using RFCOMM and SPP between my laptop and my PDA. On J9 i havent tried to setup bluetooth connections.
This would do the trick, but since i am involved in a academic research project.... to pay for software is not really what we want to do. So the next step was to evaluate the Linux side on the PDA. I installed Familiar OS v0.8.1 (today they released Familiar v0.8.2) in my Ipaq 5500 and I started searching for VMs to install on Familiar.
I found three VMs, BlackDown, SableVM and JamVM. JamVM i didnt tryed at all and BlackDown is not supported after Familiar V0.7.2, so i installed SableVM. It is hard to tell what JDK this VM implements. I sent some posts in the SableVM list and they told me that it has already some parts that is totally compatible with JDK1.3.1 and others are still being developed, like for example swing support. With SableVM i was able to run my JDK1.3.1 application with AWT, no swing was supported. Although seams like a valid platform for someone that wants to develop applications that use JDK1.3.1 and AWT for GUIs.
So my next step was to validate BlackDown VM wich is JDK1.3.1 compatible and already supports swing. In order to do so I had to install Familiar v0.7.1 in my Ipaq HP 3870 (this because the H5500 hardware is only supported in Familiar 0.8 and BlackDown VM is not supported in this version of Familiar OS). The installation was easy and i was able to run, once again my JDK1.3.1 application this time with a Swing GUI. I was very pleased.
As for Bluetooth in Familiar, well no problems because Familiar already cames with BlueZ stack which is more complete then JSR82. For example BlueZ stack already implements the PAN profile. There is also a JBlueZ that is a Java API that works on top of BlueZ. In my case, since i had the PAN profile in order to communicate with my Laptop I pared the two devices and used the PAN profile to establish a connection. This profile gives IP addresses to the two devices which allows to use normal Java Sockets to send and receive information over Bluetooth.
So resuming.... With Familiar it is easy to setup a platform to use Java (until JDK1.3.1) using or awt or swing (depending on the ipaq you have) and use Bluetooth to communicate totally FREE. On the WinCE side you can do almost the same (i didnt found any bluetooth stack that implements PAN profile in Java) but u need to pay for the VM and for BT Stack.
Now i am using on my Ipaq HP PocketPC 3870, Familiar v0.7.1 with BlackDown VM (JDK1.3.1 fully supported including swing) and BlueZ PAN Profile. On the Ipaq HP PocketPC 5500 you can use Familiar 0.8.1 with SableVM (JDK1.3.1 only AWT is supported) with BlueZ PAN Profile.
Hope this helps someone, if someone has diferent experiences please share them!!!
    Cris

    Hello CrisBento.
I have problems with iPAQ and Bluetooth JRS-82 API using avetana.
    You have wriiten:
"For Bluetooth i tried the avetana JSR82 stack with WIDCOMM driver for Bluetooth dongle, which was designed for CrEmE VM and I managed to setup connections using RFCOMM and SPP between my laptop and my PDA."
I am trying to develop a client/server application via Bluetooth. The server will be the PC running Windows 2000 SP5 or WIndows XP.
The client will be an iPAQ H3970.
I test two VMs. The Jeode Insignia and crEme 3.26 and also crEme 4.00(beta).
Unfortunately, the avetana lib is running properly at my PC side( my USB Bluetooth Adapter is 1.4.12 Widcomm driver) but at the iPAQ side I receive the following exception:
"Could not find own library avetanaBTCE. Will try from ld.library.path
    Exception occurred during event dispatching:
    java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no avetanaBTCE in java.library.path
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibraryInternal()
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary()
    at java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary0()
    at java.lang.System.loadLibrary()"
I received the above exception in all 3 VMs I used.
It is very strange that you run properly the avetana JSR82 API to you iPAQ 3870, thus it is older than mines.
I also tried in the main class of the programs I tested to include the following line:
    System.load("/Windows/AveatanaBT/src/avetanaBT.dll");
//Include the absolute path of the dll
    or
System.load("/Windows/avetanaBTCE.dll");I have got in touch with both crEme Support team and Avetana Support team.
The most possible problem is that my Bluetooth Stack is very old.
However, it is very strange that I read you have succeded to run the avetana API at iPAQ 3870.
If you have some comments I really appreciate to tell me.
    Regards,
    kalgik
