HP LA2306x Monitor Menu Stuck

Need help.
I have a HP LA2306x monitor. Recently the monitor menu pops up on its own and then starts toggling through each of the open items from top to bottom (so the orange select box starts on cancel then goes to source detection then to auto-switch source and so forth by it self). Essentially it's like someone is pressing the menu button constantly.
I tried some of the other solutions like unplugging and holding the power button and the menu button but nothing seems to work for too long. When I unplug the monitor seems to work properly but within 5 minutes the menu pops up again and then the toggling begins.
Any thoughts? appreciate the help in advance.

I understand that you are having issues with your HP Compaq LA2306x 23-inch WLED Backlit LCD Monitor toggling through the OSD menu. I would recommend you try the following steps to resolve this issue:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the monitor and from the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button on the monitor down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back in ensuring it is plugged directly into the wall and not into a powerbar or strip
Step 4. Press Menu on the monitor when it is powered on
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and press it
If the issue persists beyond the steps I have given I think it would be best if you contact HP Technical Support for repair options.

  • Where is the monitor menu and ALC checkbox?

Using GB11, I have my electric guitar plugged into the Mic/Line input on my MacBookPro using a simple converter.  The "Converter" is only a phone jack input with a mini-jack output.  It's not powered.
In the Mac's General Preferences/Sound/Audio I have "Line In and Audio Line-In Port" selected.
In GB Preferences Audio/MIDI I have "Built-in" for both Output and Input but I've also tried "System Setting" on each/both.
I can switch between amps and as I play I cannot hear my guitar.  As I record I cannot hear the guitar.  When I play back I hear the amp and WOW it's cool!  But I need to be able to monitor as I play.  I looked up monitor in the Help file and saw this:
In the Track Info pane, do any of the following:
Choose On from the Monitor menu before recording.
Select the Automatic Level Control checkbox before playing or recording.
Well, I have the Track Info pane open (that's where the amps are displayed). But I cannot find the Monitor menu or the ALC Checkbox.
Can someone please tell me where these are hidden??
    TIA

  • New mobo...BIOS freezes when accessing "H/W Monitor Menu" -- K9N Neo-F V3

Just bought a new MSI nForce560 board, haven't installed the OS yet.  If I touch the "H/W Monitor" menu in the BIOS, it locks up.  I know the keyboard still works because Ctrl-Alt-Del will reboot the CPU, but I can no longer navigate the menu.  If I never touch that particular menu, it never locks up, but if I enter that menu for any reason, it will lock up within 5-45 seconds.  Running AMI BIOS 2.61 (6/12/07).

Hook the antec fan up to one of the power supply's 4 pin molex connectors.  There may be a conflict between the motherboard and the speed controller in th fan or there could be an overload of the motherboard's fan power circuit.
It is always best to run power to the case fans directly from the power supply.  Helps to reduce the heat generated by the voltage control circuits in the motherboard.
Excellent.  That's precisely what I did and it seems to be working GREAT!  Thanks!

  • Mac mini and 52" TV monitor -- menu bars invisible

Last summer I bought a mac mini for my Samsung 22" TV/DVI monitor. The mini immediately recognized the TV as a specific DVI monitor and all was well.
The only problem was the monitor was smaller than my iMac screen. A bigger TV was inevitable. We eventually moved, and the idea of using binoculars to watch TV held little appeal, so I bought a 52" Samsung.
I bought a DVI to HDMI cable, as this TV had no DVI input (unlike the 22" combo TV/DVI monitor) and the mini recognizes it generically as "Samsung" and chooses "1080p" for the monitor resolution. (I assume this is preferred to 1080i, even though the refresh rate is slower?).
I want to use this both as a "Front Row" interface for iTunes movies, etc, and as a conventional monitor for when I want to do computery things.
The menu bar (as well as the bottom of the dock) are invisible. They are there when I remotely display the screen, so I think they might just be hidden by the frame. Is there a viable workaround? Of the 15 or so possible resolutions, exactly one shows the menu bar, but at the expense of lower resolution and terrible color balance (oddly, if I rotate the image 180° in Display System Preferences, the color looks ok).
Also, while I am at it, what is the optimal way to export audio from the mac mini into a stereo input? Right now I am using the headphone jack, and it sounds ok, but I suspect there might be a much better way.

I've been having this same problem! My Mini plugged into my 42" HDTV (via DVI to HDMI adapter, with Overscan enabled) has the desktop overflowing the screen on all four sides. With Overscan disabled, the desktop is too small and has a black band on all four sides.
Now, I know the Nvidia GPU can scale/stretch the display for external displays, I had to do it with my Vista laptop. So, how do I do the same thing on my Mini?
I've called tech support, but I had no luck. The first guy would only say 'You can't do anything else.' and hung up when I asked for someone else. The second guy didn't even understand the issue.

  • Connecting la2306x monitor with mac book pro retina

    Hi There
I just bought an HP Monitor la2306x, and tired to connect it with my Mac book pro Retina. I attempted the connection via HDMI Cable and a HDMI to Display Port Adapter, but the monitor didnt find the connection.
I then attached an HDMI to DVI adapter to the Monitor and still nothing, the Laptop did seem to notice that i connected another display as the screen went on and off but nothing was shown on the monitor.
Using the same connection i tried connectiong my PS3 and it connected through HDMI to DVI.
Can the monitor work with Macs? I didnt think it would be a issue
Thanks a lot for your Help!

    Hello naja89,
You want to connect a monitor to your MacBook.
You might have to change a setting on the computer.
The cables connect to the Thunderbolt/Mini-Display Port, and you then have to select System Preferences > Display and use Mirroring or not according to how you want to operate.
I found this on the mac forums.
Here is the link to the forum.

  • HP w1907v monitor menu

I'm having problems with screen displays; probably the video card is the cause but I want to eliminate the monitor before I start pulling the computor apart. My question; the monitor has it's own dedicated menu accessed by buttons along the bottom of the screen. At the moment I can't get that menu to display, is this dedicated menu dependent on the video card in the  tower or does it have it's own drivers installed in the monitor hardware.  I've had no problems with the monitor previously but do need to eliminate from my list of possible faults.  If anyone who has a similar monitor will try bringing up the menu with the computor switched I will be grateful.  Ron

I understand you are having problems with your display and are trying to rule out the monitor. The bottons on the monitor itself are dependant on your monitor being connected to a computer. To properly test your monitor if you are trying to rule it out simply connect it to another computer and see if it works properly.
I hope I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • New Monitor - Menu fonts are blurry with balck background

I just installed a new monitor (Compaq 20" LCD). When in Firefox, the menu fonts in the upper right hand corner of the screen have a black background and the the lettering appears fuzzy. When I float my cursor over them they highlight in blue (as that should) and are nice and clear. This is only in Firefox - the whole screen is crystal clear when using any other program.

Thanks michael. You are right. The fonts in the image file I posted looks good compared to my original monitor screen for some wierd reason. I went through all the steps that you mentioned. BUT I think I have found the solution now. This is what I did: I downloaded 'Tinker Tool' > font smoothing> changed font smoothing style to 'Strong'. This seems to have sorted the problem out. I have posted both images for comparison below.

  • Can BPMon monitor jobs stuck in 'Released' mode?

    Hi SAP Experts,
I would like to monitor certain jobs stuck with the status of 'Released' as seen in SM37. Can BPMon do that kind of monitoring? Please advise, thanks.
    Regards,
    Kim Yong

    Hello,
the Start Delay in BPMon should wok anyway it just depends on the start procedure you use.
In your case without a pre-defined start time you should chose start procedure "use job start condition" then every job is picked up if the name fits the critieria. On with this start procedure the start delay corresponds to the information in SM37.
If you use the start procedure "by time" instead then you have to enter a planned start time and then BPMon measures the deviation from this start time, so here we are talking about a real start delay from a business perspective. In the former case we "only" talk about a technical delay that you see in SM37.
For the purpose described below you should go with the first option I described.
    Best Regards
    Volker

  • Plugged in a tv to my mac, now my 27" monitor is stuck at 1080p

I have an Apple MacBook Pro Retina 15" with a Dell U2711, some 1600x900 Acer, and a 720p HDTV. Everything was working fine, but I unplugged everything to work on my bed, then when I plugged everything back in, it went crazy.
First, it made everything display mirrored, which is very annoying. I disabled it. However, every time I plug a new monitor in, it always assumes mirror displaying. This is very annoying.
Then my U2711 won't go back to 2560x1440. It's stuck at 1080p. Sometimes I see the option, but clicking it doesn't do anything. Most of the time, I only see 1080p.
I tried reseting PRAM, restarting, doing weird combinations, closing and opening the lid, but nothing works. Ideas?

    Hello jongleberry,
Take a look at this part of the article named MacBook Pro: Frequently asked questions about using a Retina display found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5266.
I need a resolution for my external display that is not appearing on the list. Is there a way to get more resolutions to appear?
Yes. Hold the Option key down while clicking the Scaled button to see more resolutions. This is only available in extended desktop mode.
    All the best,

  • Podcast menu stuck at "unwatched" view

I was listening to podcasts on my Apple TV (2nd Gen) streamed from my MacBook. I changed the view once to show only "unwatched" (the top of the podcast menu would show "by date", "by show", or "unwatched".
Now the menu seems stuck at "unwatched" and I can't change the view to one of the other options. I arrow up until the "unwatched" is selected and then try to click the left arrow and it makes the popping/click sound, but doesn't move.
This view also doesn't give me access to my podcast playlists, like the view before did.
I tried backing up to the main menu and going back in, but it didn't work. Tried putting the the ATV to sleep and then waking it back up--same problem. All other menus (Movies, TV shows) are working fine in the "by date" and "by show/movie" section.
The same thing happens when I go to the Podcasts section streaming from my Mac Mini. It's as if ALL Podcasts from all sources are stuck on the unwatched view only and will not let me view playlists or "by date" or "by show".
    Any ideas?

By the way, "Show Playlists" IS selected to show all in the Audio & Video preference settings.
Now, that I've gone into the settings section, my remote won't let me get out. I can move up and down in the settings menu, but can't move out and left to "computers", "internet", "tv shows", "movies", etc.
What in the world would be causing this?

  • Conky - Certain monitors seem stuck

I have the XFCE genmon plugin on my panel and am piping Conky's output to it. The MEM and TEMP values change, but CPU and NET don't I've tried opening and closing programs, changing the CPU part to show all my CPU cores, the values are still stuck. I've tried both running it through the genmon plugin and in the terminal and I get the same result.
    The command to start Conky:
    conky -c /home/christian/.conkyrc-genmon
    The .conkyrc file in question:
    # ~/.conkyrc-genmon
    # conky configuration for genmon plugin
    # settings
    background no
    out_to_console yes
    out_to_x no
    total_run_times 1
    uppercase no
    use_spacer none
    cpu_avg_samples 2
    net_avg_samples 2
    # output to console
    TEXT
    CPU ${cpu cpu0}% \
    MEM ${memperc}% \
    TEMP ${acpitemp}°C \
    NET \
    ${if_existing /proc/net/route wlp4s0}\
    down ${downspeed wlp4s0} up ${upspeed wlp4s0}\

    down ${downspeed enp5s0f0} up ${upspeed enp5s0f0}\
    ${else}\
    unavailable\
    ${endif}${endif}
So is this a bug in Conky, or am I missing something in my .conkyrc?
    <edit>
If it helps, the genmon plugin is set to run Conky every second. Having Conky run every hour (3600 seconds) and changing the total_run_times to 3600 doesn't help either.
It appears that this is not a bug in Conky but a deficiency in the genmon applet. So is there any alternative to genmon or should I hack some other way to put Conky on top of the XFCE panel?
    </edit>

To start, your minimum_width line is missing the underscore but that could be a typo?  The only thing that's ever cut off the width of conky for me is maximum_width so maybe you need it larger than 1200.

  • Menu Stuck

When i switch my IPod on Music is selected in the menu, but i can't scroll up or down the menu,it just sticks on music, this is the first problem i have had with this IPod.its been perfect up till today,Anyone know whats wrong.Thank You.Longlegs

    Hey there,
Have you tried resetting the iPod. To do this, toggle the hold switch on and off a few times. Then press and hold the Center and Menu buttons for a few seconds until the Apple logo appears. You might have to try this a few times. See if that helps.
Another option is to restore the iPod through iTunes. Keep in mind that by doing this you are erasing all the music and files from your iPod so make sure you have them backed up on your computer first. Instructions on how to restore your iPod can be found below.
