hi guys i have my HP laptop and i tried to connect lmy iphone using usb cable into it .. but then it doesn't workand said FAILED what tips can u advice ..also i see my device manager under other devices >iphone with an yellow exclamation point then i tried to updated that driver but it says access is denied .your help will be very much appreciated ..

I understand the iPhone is not properly connecting to the computer. Please try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
Go to the Start menu (or Start screen), and type "services.msc" in the search bar (without the quotes). When it appears as an option, right-click and select "Run as administrator". Look for the "Apple Mobile Device" which should be near the top. Ensure it is "Started" and "Automatic". If it is, stop the service. Then, close all Apple programs (iTunes) and unplug the iPhone and any other Apple devices. Then, go back and start the service. At that point, open iTunes and then plug in the iPhone.
Please try this and let me know what happens.

D13, thanks for these details. This an awesome clue. Are you able to connect to this Wi-Fi connection with other devices? Let's try a few steps to resolve this issue.
First, reset the network in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network and power your device off/on.
Secondly, delete the Wi-Fi connection in Settings>Select your Wi-Fi>Forget this Network and the try to connect to that Wi-Fi again.
Lastly, try creating your Wi-Fi connection. Tap Settings>Enable Wi-Fi ON. From Choose a Network, select Other. Enter the Wi-Fi network name. Select Security. Select the Wi-Fi network type then select Other Network. Enter the Wi-Fi network password then select Join

I read from somewhere that one creative cloud account can be used on two different devices, but what about the lightroom 6 version?
If I pay $149 for lightroom 6, how many laptops can I install on? I now have one windows laptop and one mac.

If that includes you, you are supposed to rush out to your Apple Store and buy a new iMac TODAY, not wait until Intel has the next generation Server-class chips available for a new Mac Pro.
Many of today's iMacs seem to out-compute many Mac Pro models. But the iMacs lack larger ECC memory, expandable graphics, PCI slots, and multiple internal drive bays. Compute power is not the whole story.

Can't install USB Labelwriter

Hi I have a problem installing a dymo labelwriter 330 turbo on three iMac G5's (powerpc) running 10.3.9. After I install the print software a I go into Print Setup Utility and one of two things happen;
1. I choose "USB" and it will find new drivers and want to reload them. I say ok then it will say driver not installed.
2. I choose "Dymo Labelwriter" from the printer list. This will cause the Utility to crash and give this error:
"The application irtnreS tepuU itilyt has unexpectedly quit."
This exact scenario happens on all three machines. I've tried three different versions of the printer software, deleted the print pref's and ran a utility to repair the print utility with no success. Any idea's?

Have you used the latest driver, which can be down loaded from here;
DYMO Label Software Application Version 7.7 for PowerPC AND Intel based Mac OS X
Click on drivers and download and find the one for your Mac.
The instuctions at that site say:
+NOTE: Do not connect the USB cable to your computer or USB hub until instructed to do so during the software installation. If you have a label printer already installed, disconnect the USB cable from your computer before running this installer and reconnect the cable when instructed to do so.+
1. Make sure your label printer is plugged in and turned on before continuing.
2. Open the Printer Setup Utility.
3. In the Print Center/Printer Setup Utility, click Add
4. Select the label printer from the list of choices in the Printer List and click Add
The printer is added to the printer list.
5. Close the Printer Setup Utility

No usb ports work, can't instal usb 3 driver

I received an HP Elitebook 8540w laptop from work, the hardrive was wiped with just the OS installed (windows 7 pro 64bit). I downloaded and installed all applicable drivers from here. Everything seems to work except the usb ports. There are three usb 2.0 ports on the left and two usb 3.0 ports on the right. None of them will recognize devices installed in them. My usb optical mouse's laser will flash for a second when it's plugged in and my external drive (1TB Passport) will spin up but never shows in nMy Computer as a accessible drive. Device Manager shows 2 Generic USB Hubs, 2 Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controllers, and 2 USB Root Hubs. Comparing this to my other Elitebook 8540w it is missing a Renesa USB 3.0 Host Controller Hub. THis was one of the drivers installed with the others above but it's not showing anywhere. I've since removed and reinstalled this driver several times with no changes. Runing the USB 3.0 Host Controller Uitility that installs with this driver gives a "USB 3.0 Host Controller not found error." Please help!

Hi, Please check your IT deparment, they may disable USB ports elsewhere. My working laptops (all of them) have same "problem", my IT department even disabled C: drive, optical drive I can't see them anywhere. I can't see Devive Manager. I can only use USB ports to charge my phone or tablet. Regards.

I have windows 8.1 64bit and i can't install the usb 3.0 driver from the site. It says i do not meet the minimum requirements but after reading them i actually do. This board has so many problems with windows 8/8.1 i just might rollback to windows 7 to rid myself of the issues but shouldnt have to. Is there anything i might be missing?? drivers, software etc..

hmmm, sounds like windows 7 is the way to go with this board for stability. Looks like a future format is in order haha. I went to windows 8 for the boot time which is impressive over 7 but other then that...i hate it haha. Might format the old beast tonight and see what breaks next

Can I detect USB cable unplugged for USB 6229

I am using a USB 6229 to control a moving machine. As a safety mechanism, I would like to be able to detect if the USB cable becomes unplugged and stop the machine.
I thought maybe I could use the Watchdog functions in DAQmx to achieve this, but I get an error which says that watchdogs are not supported on the 6229. Does anyone know if there is a way to detect the USB cable is unplugged on the 'machine' side of the 6229, please? I could build my own watchdog timer and control it using digital I/O lines, but I wondered if I was missing something obvious?

Hi Paul,
I don't believe you'll be able to do set this up with your USB 6229. There aren't any safety features like watchdog timers on that device and I don't believe there's a signal or anything generated when the USB cable is unplugged. Your best bet would be to build your own watch dog timer or perhaps look at a DIO device with this functionality built in.

New Laptop - can not install upgrade versions of CS

I have bought a new notebook with WIN 7 and tried to install the prior versions of CS to be able to install CS 6 Design Standard.
I have installed Photoshop 6 - Creative Suite Standard and failed due to my system compatibility.
What can I do now?

Hello , I apologize in advance for my bad english.
I have a problem with my macbook pro : Several times in the past , I took off some usb without ejecting it , and now I tried to connect a usb key for 3g but nothing appears on the dock to install it but when i connect it on my friend's macbook a window appears. I tried to repair the disk in disk utility but i didn't work. Thank you for your help.

Mac can't install USB/Ethernet extension Officejet Pro 8610

For some reason I keep getting this error, "The system extension /System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update." during the driver install from my Mac to my new Officejet Pro 8610.
I installed the drivers for my new Officejet Pro 8620 on a different computer and had no issues. Any ideas?

Hi,
Please try repairing the disk permissions as following:
1. Open the the Applications folder.
2. Go to the Utilities folder.
3. Double-click on Disk Utility.
4. Select the hard drive containing the boot volume.
5. Go to the First Aid tab and select Repair Disk Permissions.
Note: This process may take several minutes depending on the Mac and amount of permissions that need to be repaired. The Progress Log will indicate when the process has been completed.
Next, go to Computer (click on Finder, then select Go > Computer)
Select your active boot volume (will more likely be listed as Macintosh-HD)and then navigate to System > Library > Extensions. locate the AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext file, copy it to your desktop (for bakcup porpuses) and then delete it from the extensions folder.
Next reinstall the latest software below and check for any change, if the issue been resolved you may delete the backup file from the desktop.

Can't pull usb cable out easily

I just got my iPad 2 and when I'm ready to disconnect it after charging, the usb is very hard to pull out of the iPad. Is there some trick here? I have an iPhone, so I know how it's supposed to work, I assume.

Gently squeeze the sides of the connector where it slides into the iPad. See if that makes a difference
It shouldn't be difficult to disconnect. You assume correctly

How can I use my Dx7 as a MIDI controller for Logic Pro 9? I'm using MIDI/USB cable but Dx7 doesn't appear in the 'set-up' list, what am I doing wrong?

When I click the 'scan all models' search in the 'Control Surfaces Set Up' there is no Yamaha DX7 in the list so how can I make Logic 'see' the DX7?

As Colin pointed out, you have to look first in the Audio MIDI Setup. If your MIDI Device doesn't show up there, then Logic cannot see it either (unless you are using Logic Remote on your iPad to play over Wi-Fi).
I'm curious about the "MIDI/USB cable you mention. If the DX7 has a standard 5-pin DIN MIDI out jack, then you have to connect that to a MIDI Interface first that converts the MIDI signal to send it over the USB jack out. Please note that you would see the MIDI Interface in the Audio MIDI Setup app and not the DX7 itself. Also, in Logic you would see the MIDI Interface in the Environment as a valid MIDI input device.
