HP - Laptop with Intel Celeron Processor - Piano Black - Black Friday help

Morning I am intrested in this for my son for simple word processing and internet so it will be enough for that. My question though it shows coming soon shipping store pickup not ava. Im guessing this is just shipping but when will it be up to order

Oh heck ya, if thats all you say its going to be used for. It can be used for Facebook and all that stuff. Just dont try to do games like Sims 3 or whatever on it. If your son likes to go to the library, the laptop has Wifi so they can surf the net there. Libraries usually have filtered Wifi access, if you are unsure, check with the library!
If you have any further questions please feel free to ask em , we are here for you

Can Indesign CC 2014 run on a Intel Celeron Processor?

To expand upon Bob Levine's response, there is nothing in the Adobe installers that tests the CPU in terms of model, speed, and capabilities. That having been said, Intel Celeron processors have historically been stripped down, low power, low speed cousins to the mainstream Intel processor lines. It may possibly not support 64-bit operation in which case you would be restricted to the 32-bit flavor of InDesign and its address space limitations.
A Celeron processor might also be indicative of a system that isn't particularly well-endowed in terms of other resources including memory, disk, video, etc. and depending upon your configuration as well as the complexity of the documents you wish to create and/or edit, you might find performance lacking at best.
    Proceed with caution.

I want to know if I am going to have to upgrade all graphic programs right away after buying new computer.
Trying to weigh ALL costs involved.
    Thanks for any advice!!!

Anything you have that is powerpc code only will not run on a new machine.  OS X 10.8 has no support for powerpc code (universal binary programs should be fine).
Other than that warning, without knowing exactly what programs you have, and what version you are on, it is hard to say whay will or will not migrate alright.
you might need to do some web searching and check apps at sites like roaringapps or on the programs Company web site.

    Single Core celeron at 2.2ghz?
Not even 3GB of ram is going to save you from this situation with the way the Intel HD graphics card is stealing your memory.
The first thing I would do if you have the time for it is get a nice drink and set it next to your computer, you are going to need it.
And remove all the try me and buy me stuff. Its going to take you at least 20 to 25 minutes to do.
After this, your computer should be speedier.
Some more things to consider. If you run MSCONFIG you can control on your computer the things that load up in the system tray. Be only sure to mess with the Start Up Try and not the other options.
A through explanation of how to use MSCONFIG can be seen on this page: http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/index.html

  • Adobe Reader 8 with older Celeron processor

    I have a 5 year old laptop with Celeron 1.1GHz & 128 KB cache.
Adobe 8 requirements specify Pentium III all of which have 256 KB cache.
Some Pentium IIIs are slower - 433 MHz than my Celeron.
Should I try installing Adobe Reader 8 or stick with Adobe Reader 5?

  • My laptop has intel celeron

Hi does anyone know if there is a flash player I can download
for an intel celeron laptop? I'm thinking the reason why I am
unable to download flash player is because my laptop doesn't meet
    the minimum requirements. Thanks

It depends on the specs. Lookup the specs for Photoshop vs 6 and compare it to the specs of your laptop.

  • Will CS4 install on laptop with 1.8ghz processor

I have a HP Pavilion laptop with the AMD Turion 64 x2 processor 1.8 ghz and 2 gb of ram. I am running windows vista home premium. Does anyone know if this will run the CS4 premium suite. I will be upgrading to that in the next couple of months at work and I also install on my laptop at home so I can practice and learn stuff I do not have time for at work. CS2 runs with no problem. The main programs I would be installing are Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, bridge and the new version of Acrobat. I might try flash too since I have never used it so I can learn it.
Thanks for any help you can provide

it should but you can be the judge of that, just download the trial and see for yourself

    Hi Narottam.
No, I don't. But, if you have troubbles setting up this environment, I could suggest you to use SUN VirtualBox. Is easy to set up and use. Also it should run with Intel Atom Procesors.
I am using this virtual environment with all the programs you ask: SB1 2007 A PL 49 (Server & Client), SQL Server Express and MS Office 2007.
If interested, please read documentation and download it from: [http://www.sun.com]

  • MOVED: MSI Z77A-GD65 with Intel Xeon Processor E3-1245V2 - 3.4 GHz

This topic has been moved to Intel Core-iX boards.

Is this to be a gaming compuer or server I am confused
    http://ark.intel.com/products/65729/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E3-1245V2-8M-Cache-3_40-GHz
That mobo supports that cpu with the following bios:
    Xeon Ivy Bridge E3-1245V2 100 3.40 1M 8M E1 77 7751vA5.zip
So more than likely you will need a supported cpu to flash to that version for it to work.
If this is for gaming, there are better choices for the cpu though.

As for the memory, we have seen the best results with corsair dominator or vengence memory.

  • Lowering fan speed on laptop with Intel chipset

I have a laptop running with Intel i7-2630QM. I know my laptop had worse-than-expected battery life, but I never realized how bad until I installed powertop. Turns out I'm idling at 29W(!). This is even after enabling pcie_aspm=force and the related boot arguments that supposedly improve battery life in Intel laptops.
I think a big part of the problem is my fan, as my laptop has always been particularly noisy. However, I can't figure out which chipset I should be modifying in sensors.conf.
    Output of sensors:
    acpitz-virtual-0
    Adapter: Virtual device
    temp1: +57.0°C (crit = +120.0°C)
    temp2: +55.0°C (crit = +127.0°C)
    radeon-pci-0100
    Adapter: PCI adapter
    temp1: +55.0°C
    coretemp-isa-0000
    Adapter: ISA adapter
    Physical id 0: +58.0°C (high = +86.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
    Core 0: +53.0°C (high = +86.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
    Core 1: +52.0°C (high = +86.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
    Core 2: +55.0°C (high = +86.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
    Core 3: +54.0°C (high = +86.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Compared with my friends' laptops, I expected to see a line that corresponds to my chipset, but I don't - what line(s) should I expect to modify?

Okay, I've half-solved the issue - I turned off the radeon card, and my idle temperature dropped by about 10 degrees. I'm idling at about 18 W now, so I get about an extra hour of battery life (~3 hours). That said, since I could get about 5 in Windows on this computer, I think there's still some room for improvement, especially since the fan is still a bit noisy. (I can't measure it exactly, but to my ear, it sounds like it's running too high given my low temperature of ~45 degrees).
I'm assuming the fan is the number one power draw at this point, so is there any other way that I can get it down without pwm?

  • Flash crashes Windows 7 Pro 64 bit IE11. Lenovo X301 laptop with Intel Graphics. Confirmed it happen

My company has several Lenovo X301 laptops with Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) running IE11. I load clean versions of Flash onto these laptops (latest version 12.0.0.77) and every single one of these laptops crashes when opening IE11.
One thing I noticed when I used the help.adobe.com site. Using IE11, the box which "dynamically displays the following information" shows the correct version of Flash player and OS but the browser says "None". If I run Chrome, it says the correct Flash version but the OS says "Windows 7 (32 bit) and the browser correctly says "Google Chrome".
The crash report for IE11, module name is Flash32_12_0_0_77.ocx.
    1. Why is the program unable to determine the correct browser?
    2. Why does it appear that a 64 bit program is trying to use a 32 bit plug-in?
    Any ideas?

    1. "User-Agent Strings"
Microsoft "rewrote" the User-Agent Strings for the abomination they call their latest and greatest browser. User-Agent Strings are what websites use to identify the browser you're using and provide the proper content for it's browser engine, like ActiveX stuff, and Flash or HTML5 video. Thanks to the geniuses in Redmond, WA, the User-Agent Strings for IE11 (which has a Trident engine), ID it as either "Gecko" (Firefox) or "Webkit" (Chrome). Problem is: when the site the directs to the content for one of these two engines, the Trident engine in IE can't intepret it and the site then sees IE as an "unidentified" browser.Microsoft has no immediate plans to "fix" the mess they've created.
    2. Chrome is a 32 bit browser, and will identify as such, including the plug-ins in it.
IE uses the plug-in from the SyWOW64 folder (WOW=Windows On WIndows - which runs 32 bit apps in the 64 bit environment)

  • BACKORDERED - Dell-Studio Laptop with Intel Core i7 Processor-Black Chainlink-S1747-3209CBK

I was excited that I purchased my first laptop and begin photo processing tons of photos from my last trip.  Yet the day after I purchased (4/22/) I found out it was backordered...sorely disappointed and a little upset that Best Buy did not announce this information at checkout or anywhere in the online ad.  The email said 1-2 weeks but the Customer Service agent said up to 30 days on the phone.  Has anyone experienced this with Best Buy and was the timeframe provided true to the actual time it took?  I'm afraid that they'll just tell me it's no longer available after I wait forever.
    Thanks!

    Good afternoon, Waiting.
I have located your order and I am checking with the appropriate teams to get a better understanding if we have incoming inventory or not.  Thanks for your patience with this!  I know how frustrating this is, but can assure you that we always have the full intention of shipping your order ASAP.
I also need to correct some of the conversation in this topic.  Your card is not charged until your order actually ships.  The pending charge on your account is only an authorization which is money that is held by your bank until we collect/charge (ship) or cancel the order.  In other words, no money has changed hands and a back ordered order certainly hasn't contributed to any "sales numbers".
I will post back as soon as I have more information about your order.

  • Will ipod work with intel celeron D processor?

Before I take my new computer out of the box, I want to be sure I can download Itunes to my ipod. the itunes site says 500 mhz pentium class or better, the guy at circuit city said the celeron D is 32 bit 3.3 GHZ and should work.
    Will it?

yeah, the Celeron is Pentium class, and 3.3 GHz is around 3300 MHz, so you're well within the spec in those two regards.

  • Lenovo T440p laptop with Intel CPU remains at lowest clock (Win7)

I have an Lenovo T440p with an Intel Core i5 4300M CPU. 8GB RAM, SSD running with Windows 7 (preinstalled).
The only thing I did not like about this laptop was the screen, which I replaced (the whole LCD unit from another T440p - including the hinges) with a hd res version. It was rather easy; I did not have to remove the CPU/GPU.
Recently I noticed is that the laptop has become really slow, especially running VMs. In task manager I can see that the CPU is many times at 100% on all cores. CPU-Z is reporting that the CPU is running at the lowest possible clock:
        Core Speed: 798.85 MHz
        Multiplier x8
        Bus Speed 99.87 MHz
        Core Voltage of 0.659 V
I have set Windows already to "Maximum Performance" in the energy settings. I have also taken out the battery and am running with the power adapter. I also set the Lenovo Power Manager to maximum performance. Sadly, no improvement.
    What else can I try?

    xi-berger wrote:

do you know where I have to look for errors? I also tried to reinstall the drivers, but it did not help..
I see something like this on my T420 Thinkpad sometimes. It turns out the backlight is just going out. I'm reluctant to say it's a kernel issue and not hardware - I have vague memories of it happening on Windows 7 as well, but that was years ago ...
It happens on Arch and Debian definitely, and the following fix works on both for me:
Opening a terminal (which I have bound to a key) and running "xset dpms force off", then moving the mouse or something to wake the display again brings it back to light.
Try that the next time it happens and see if it helps. Will at least confirm whether it's the same issue as me or not.
