Hi,
Are you able to print from other applications like Paint, Word etc.? Did you try printing from different browsers?

I have a HP Laser Jet 1018 printer that stopped printing. Message references spooling and no printer connected.

    Hi @ken60487,
I see that you are having issues printing. You are getting a spool and a not connected error. I can help you out today.
What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
The Print Spooler is part of the Operating System, if it isn't running you will not be able to install a printer, see the printer.
Run all the Windows updates on the computer.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
Clear the Printer Spooler Files and try to Enable the Spooler Service.
    1. Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type Services.msc .
    2. Double-click Printer Spooler in the Services list.
    3. Click on the Stop button and click OK. (yours is probably already stopped)
    4. Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type"%WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers, then delete all files in this folder.
    5. Go back to services by holding down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type Services.msc again.
    6. Double-click Printer Spooler in the Services list.
    7. Click on the Start button. In the Start up Type list, make sure that Automatic is selected and click OK.
    Try printing again.
If the issue persists, try the following steps:
Try running the Microsoft Fix It Tool to see if it will fix the print spooler.
Diagnose and repair Windows File and Folder Problems automatically.
You can also try running the How To Use SFC /Scannow to Repair Protected Windows Operating System Files.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!

  • Unwanted noise when printing in laser jet 1018

I've been using laser jet 1018 for many years and all of a sudden it starts screech when printing. What can I do to stop this?
If there is nothing to do but buying a new printer which other printer uses the same same toner cartridge?

    Hello magistern,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
The noise that you are experiencing could be cause by many different scenarios. The basis troubleshooting would include making sure the printer power cable is connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip.  Taking a light weight lubricating oil and applying very little to the gears.
I realize that you have had this printer for some time. If you would like to see about some out of warranty options, I suggest  calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

    Hi marise,
I am using Google Translate to assist you.
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand when trying to fax the display is stuck on the fax message and won't cancel.
I will be happy to help you.
Please clarify if I am incorrect.
I would do a power reset to see if that will resolve the issue. With the printer still turned on, disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer. Then disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet. Wait 10 seconds and reconnect the power cable back to the wall outlet first, then the back of the printer and power it on again.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector)
If the display is showing a fax error you shouldn't need to uninstall and reinstall the printer.
You stated you weren't able to uninstall the printer and a job was showing in the print queue.
Since there is a job in the queue you won't be able to uninstall the printer until the job in the queue is deleted.
Go to start, Devices and printers folder.
Right-click the name of the product, and then click See what's printing .
Click Printer, then click Cancel All Documents.
Click Yes to confirm the action.
If documents remain in the print queue, restart the computer.
    Try printing again.
If you require further help please provide the following information so I can help you better.
What operating system are you using?
How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
Did that help reset the printer back to a ready state again?
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • 10.9 Reports HP Laser Jet is out of toner and will not print: printer does in fact have sufficient toner.

That message originates from the printer, not the Mac. Get in touch with HP, perhaps they have an explanation.

  • Installed CS3 with windows vista bit AE won't open.

When my old faithful computer motherboard fried, I had to get a new computer with Windows Vista Home Premium.
I had CS3 loaded and working without a glich on my old XP computer.
I've loaded the whole CS3 suite, but when I open After Effects nothing happens. Using Window's Task Manager, under "Applications" After Effects doesn't show up as a running but under "Processes" the file "AfterFX.exe *32" is listed as running.
I've also tried uninstalling CS3 and reinstalling it in the directory "Program Files" rather than in the directory "Program Files (x86)" and nothing changed.
I've tried to opening all the other programs in CS3 with the similar results. Nothing opens, but their .exe files are listed under Task Managers "Processes".
I'm using this as a vol lic product, so I'm not sure how much tech support I can get.
Thank you for any help you can give me.

I'm sorry it didn't work. I probably don't have an answer for you since I'm not an expert or anything.
One thing I thought was weird was that the software version on my computer for the motherboard was version 6.xx (whatever) and the software I downloaded from the HP web was version 5.xx (whatever). It made it work though..
I think the update would be on the HP site, not the MSI site. Go to hp.com, downloads, and put in the name of your computer. Download/install whatever motherboard software they have. If that doesn't work, go to the adobe website and search for the document kb402213 and work through that. It's what the person you give Adobe $40 to help you is going to do.
    Good luck. Hopefully this helps.

  • Windows Vista and Flash Media Server Streaming Problems

My company recently started using Flash Media Server to
    stream audio and video content.
My boss just installed Windows Vista Ultimate and now no
streaming content will play at all. Simple Flash animations work,
but nothing that accesses the Flash Media Server for content. I've
uninstalled and reinstalled multiple versions of the Flash Player
on his machine but nothing seems to work. I also tried the new
"Reset" feature in IE that is supposed to return it to it's
shipping state and that didn't work. I navigated to the "System 32"
folder and ran the Flash Updater EXE. I downloaded and installed
all of the available updates through "Windows Update".
I also tested Flash Objects that stream video on Adobe.com
and they don't play either. Has anyone heard of this happening or
know what I need to do to fix it? I don't know if this is a bug in
the Flash Player or with Windows Vista.

This appears to be the solution:

    Hi,
I am running my Oracle 10g Xpress Edition locally on Windows Vista Enterprise Edition. I am trying to create an ODBC connetion to the local XE using Window ODBC utility. I selected the Oracle in XE driver to create the connection, when I test it I get
    Unable to connect
    SQLState=S1000
[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-28547: connection to server failed, probable Oracle net admin error...
I am new to Oracle kindly excuse my ignorance :-)

I think you should probably download the file again, it might be corrupt.

  • Laser Jet M1217nfwMFP wireless and fax stopped working printer works with usb cord

I have an HP computer 64 bit version.  The printer suddenly stopped working wireless, fax stopped working weeks ago.  Printer does work with a usb cord.  Turning it off (removing elec cord) on both computer and printer, didn't help.  Nothing changed that was different to cause either problem.

    Hi agueda
I see that your Laserjet M1217 wireless and fax stopped working but the usb connection does work.
I would restore the printers defaults to setup the wireless again.
Touch the setup (wrench button) on the printer, select network config, select restore defaults.
Then make sure the wireless radio is turned on.
Touch the setup button (wrench), network configuration, wireless menu, wireless radio-on.
Temporarily connect the usb cable from the printer to the computer and go to start, all programs, hp, laserjet m1217 and select wireless configuration and go through the wizard to reset up the wireless again.
or if your router has a wps button on it then you touch the wps wireless button on the printer and immediately touch the wps button on the router.
Printer should automatically connect to the wireless network.
    Run the add printer wizard.
Go to control panel,(win7) devices and printers then click add a printer, next, select network
highlight printer, next, message installing printer.
Should be able to print over  wireless again.
    Check  fax connections.
    Then run a fax test.
Touch the setup (wrench button) on the printer, service, run fax test.
    You should have 4 passes.
Change these fax settings on the printer.
private receive-wrench/fax setup menu/ok/fax receive setup/ok/private receive/ok/set it to off
    error correction-wrench/arrow to fax setup/ok/all faxes/error correction/ok/set it to off/ok
    speed-wrench/arrow to fax setup/ok/all faxes/ok/fax speed/ok//change speed to medium.
clear saved faxes-wrench/fax functions menu/clear saved faxes/ok/ok to clear.
Try sending and receiving a fax.

  • How to install hp laser jet 1018 on windows 7 x64

    ok thanks
how to instal hp laserjet on computer windows 7 (64-bit)?

Have you already installed the driver/software and its not working or is this the first time you are installing?
    For the first time installing...
    1. Close any software programs running on your computer.
    2. Click on the Download button ( LJ1018_1020_1022_Full_Solution.exe ) and save the file to your hard disk.
    3. Double click on the downloaded file. This will extract all the driver files into a directory on your hard drive. The default directory these files are extracted to will have a similar name to the printer model.
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed installation.
I usually have the printer disconnected from the computer and connect the usb cord when prompted by the installer.
Is this what you are looking for?
Let me know how it turns out.

  • Problem with Laser Jet 1018

Hello! I have a problem and need help.
I have LaserJet 1018 and i've just updated my windows 8 to windows 8.1 (32-bit). There are no drivers for my printer on the HP site for windows 8.1 and i've tried drivers for windows 8  and though printer appears in devices on computer, it's unable to print.  I don't recieve any error mesages it's just don't print!
So, my question is: how to get my LaserJet 1018 work? And will you make drivers for this printer work on windows 8.1?(sorry for my english i'm not a native speaker)

    Hi.
    I had same problem.
I figured out this problem for a days and then I found it.
    1. Just in case, you should download a driver file from this link :http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4132&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=1814...
    2. Remove the printer(1018) in Devices and Printer on your computer.
    3. Eject your printer USB.
    4. Plug the printer USB in your computer.
You might be shown installing the printer and you can see printing when you try test-print.
If you have same problem, try to install the driver file at first and then try again from 2 to 4.
I hope you can understand my message because I'm a international student. Thanks.

Windows Printer Driver Version 5.0.3 does not support the printers built in duplexing hardware.  This is true of the PCL5 driver, the PCL6 driver and the Post Script driver.
It does support manual duplexing (stand there and feed the printer after the first side prints).
