  • My color laser jet cm1015 has error message 51.23

    Printing was misaligned so I followed instructions on a you-tube video to clean the laser box. Now, that I completed that, I get an error 51.23. It does not help to turn off and on again.  Is there a diagram that illustrates the cable that I need to reset that will correct this problem? or is there a board or cable that I can replace? I would need a part number for those.

    The following  HP troubleshooting documents may be of help.  I believe 51.23 is a yellow scanner error.  The Re-connect ribbon cables to DC Controller PCB Forum thread includes an image that might be helpful.

    if issue doesn't resolve, keep printer turn OFF for couple of hours and turn ON again. If still issue not resolved, this printer may require service, you can contact to HP support group.

  • HP LASER JET 2840 SCANNER PROBLEM

    Received Error 5 Turn off then on, I did it a lot of times already but still not working. Is there something wrong with the scanner bulb? Is it replaceable or just needs some  cleaning. Outgoing fax, copying and scanning are not working. Can I disassemble the scanner unit? I need help please, Thank you.

    Scanner 5 errors are caused by the scanner bulb not being able to find home.  Usually this an indicator that the scanner motor may be about to fail.  Usually a power cycle may resolve it temporarily.
    -Verify the CLJ2840 has the most updated firmware from hp.com.   There has been some firmware fixes in firmware to alleviate some scanner 5 errors.
    -When the scanner 5 error is not recoverable from a power cycle- the printer will need to be serviced with most likely a scanner sub assembly and possibly a formatter as well.

  • Laser Jet 1536dnf fatal error message while installing driver

    Windows 8.1 64-bit
    Got the printer a month ago and originally had no problems installing the full package software using the cd that was provided. The printer part worked great.  I had to uninstall the software because the scanner on  the 1536dnf was not being recognized by any programs on my laptop. 
    Now, I'm having problems re-installing the full package software on my windows 8.1 64 bit using the product's cd that came in the box.  After the installer recognizes the printer is connected through wired network connection (not using USB cable) it attempts to install the software and gives me an error " Fatal error occurred preventing product use." No error code.  It forces me to hit the cancel button and uninstalls all the files. 
    I have tried the following: uninstalling the 1536dnf software from the laptop, restarted my computer, updated my Adobe flash to the current version (not sure why but one of the forums on here mentioned it). I have also tried to install the online  full package with the same error result.  
    I used the same CD with another laptop that had win 7 and it installed the software without any problems, so I don't think there is anything wrong with the CD. 
    Can anyone help me?

    I understand that you are getting a fatal error installing the printer over the wired network on Windows 8.1.
    I would like to help you out with this issue today.
    I would use the latest drivers for the installation, that you downloaded from HP.
    I have provided a document with some steps to try to see if that will resolve the issue.
    A 'Fatal Error' (MSI error) Displays on the Computer During HP Software Installation in Windows.
    Find the error code in Windows 8:
    Right-click the lower left corner of the screen, and then click Event Viewer. The Event Viewer opens.
    In the Event Viewer pane (on the left), click the arrow next to Windows Logs.
    Under Windows Logs, click Application. The Event Viewer results display in the middle pane.
    In the Source column, find the most recent Error entry from HP, and then click the error entry. The error details display in the General tab.
    In the General tab, look for a numbered code. This is the specific error message that you need for troubleshooting. Note the error code, and then continue to the next step.
    What was the error code?
    If you are still having issues, install the printer as a USB connection, then when connecting the USB cable follow this document immediately. A Fatal Error Displays During Software Installation. Then I will provide the steps for flipping the port to the Ethernet connection. Just so we can get the software installed.
    Test the printer as a USB connection.
    Then go into Devices and Printers, right click the printer and left click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.
    Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.
    Type in the proper IP address for the printer. You will need to print the Configuration page to get the printer's IPv4 address. Printing a Configuration Report.
    Make sure the printer is online.
    Test the printer.
    Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.

  • HP 1300 Laserjet & HP 2605dn Laser Jet printers print density problem

    I have both an HP 1300 b/w and HP 2605dn color laser printer.  In the last week both printers have changed the output density. The 1300 print is coming out lighter than it used to, and the 2605 is not print the color tones as it used to. What used to be orange is now only yellow.Other colors are not right either. I can compare them to output a few weeks earlier, and they are much lighter and different color tones.
    Both printers have plenty of toner in all cartridges. The toner cartridge on the 1300 was changed 2 weeks ago. The toner on the 2605 is 3/4 full.
    This was like something got into the printer drivers and reset some parameters on both printers at once.
    Can anyone help me here to check this out and how to correct the problem?

    I have the same problem with my laser printer 2605dn.  the color is pale, i replaced the cartridges with original hp's but it did not help.  I also lost the capability of double side printing that I had when I originally loaded the printer drivers.  I noticed this all after I checked the internet for software updates for my printer.  Are there any solutions for these problems?
    please let me know.

  • HP Laser Jet 1012--wireless printing problems

    Hi,
    My printer is connected to the AirPort Base Station via USB and I have a PowerBook G4 and an iBook that access the network. I had been able to print just fine using this printer over the network and now I can print nothing and the network doesn't even see the printer (I have no idea what could have caused this).
    How can I get this printer up and running again on my network?

    I wanted to configure my Printer and use the E-Print Service, I went to www.Hpeprintcenter.com and tried to add a new device. It showed me a message asking me for a claim code. I didnt have that code so I clicked the 'What is a claim code'. Then, to get a 'Claim code' I have to enter the HP Printer IP address in a web browser, but My HP Printer IP Address is 'XXX.XXX.XXX.X', and the example in the web is 'XXX.XXX.X.XXX'.

    Open the HP Embedded Web Server To open the HP Embedded Web Server, type the IP address or host name of the product in the address field of a supported Web browser. To find the IP address, print a configuration page. Select Print configuration page on the Services tab in the Printer Preferences.

  • Laser Jet 1020 will no longer print Internet/email. Error message is res://ieframe/dll/preview.js

    Laser Jet 1020 used to print just fine from internet explorer. Suddenly it quit printing and I get an error message res://ieframe.dll/preview.js  The bottom of the error message asks if I want to cancel script. Prints fine from other windows applications. From the Internet, the correct printer is selected? Any suggestions?!

    The issue is caused when Windows creates the printer profile in the control panel that it doesn't correctly create it with the drivers.
    We're not going to completely uninstall all the HP software, instead we're going to remove the corrupt Windows printer profile and reinstall it.  Total time for this on an average computer is about 5-10 minutes to completely repair (including reboot).
    1) Navigate to Start Menu > Devices and Printers or Start Menu > Control Panel > Printers
    2) Select each printer profile for the printer with an issue, then select remove device/printer.
    3) Reboot
    4) Navigate to Start Menu > All Programs > HP > insert model # here > Add Printer (or Setup Wizard)
    5) Follow the setup prompts to reinstall the printer profile and it recreates the Windows printer.
    6) Run the HP Update Tool from Start Menu > All Programs > HP if your printer installs it, rebooting afterwards if necessary.
    7) Test by printing google.com (uses very little ink when the test page comes out).

  • Error's message on HP laser jet 4

    I have an very old HP Laser Jet 4 printer.
    It was working excellent until it started to just give me lines across the paper...
    Then it would print out an empty page...then print my material.
    NOW...it just keeps stating ERROR 52?
    Does anybody know what that means?
    I do not own a booklet on this printer and hate to have to purchase a new one since it has been the best!
    Also just put in a new cartridge to see if that my help. Not.

    52 ERROR Scanner Malfunction
    The scanner motor is a flat, brushless, DC motor. Motor operation
    is completely controlled by the DC Controller.
    The scanner motor is enabled when the printer is powered-up
    (during the printer’s power-on self test), or whenever the PRINT
    command is received by the Formatter PCA. The scanner motor
    makes a distinctive sound when starting. The sound can be
    described as a “variable pitch whirring” sound. Listen for the
    sound of the scanner motor when troubleshooting the 52 ERROR.
    Laser/Scanner Assembly Functional Checks
    Initiate a Self Test. As the test begins, listen for the sound of the
    scanner motor. If the motor cannot be heard, perform the
    following in the order given:
    1 Check the Laser/Scanner and the Power Supply cables. Replace if necessary.
    2 Replace the Laser/Scanner Assembly.
    3 Replace the DC Controller.
