  • Would like to know can Color Laser printers do " Iron-on Transfers " ?

Hello Support Team,    We had a photosmart printer and did not provide enough output count, we moved over to an HP Color LaserJet m276nw - does this printer support this type of media?   I would like to try and use our m276nw for everything we did with photosmart printer. Iron-on Transfers media? Found this on Amazon Media http://www.amazon.com/HP-Iron--Transfers-Inch-Pack/dp/B00000J3LY/ref=sr_1_56?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1436825468&sr=1-56&keywords=hp+paper&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011 Or is there another type of paper / media we should use to do this project. Print our own images and put them on our shirts or clothes. Most Appreciated www.iOSGenius.com

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand that you would like to know if Color Laser printers do "Iron-on Transfers"? I am happy to answer this for you! According to this guide, HP Iron-on Transfers for Color Fabric - Printing Instructions for HP Iron-on Transfers. It states: WARNING: Do not use HP Iron-on Transfers for Color Fabric in laser printers, copy machines, or Inkjet printers with heating elements such as the HP Deskjet 1200c or 1600c. The heating elements in these printers can melt the transfer paper, which could damage the printer. Hope this answers your question, and thank you for posting!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

  • Color Laser Printers

I'm looking to learn from my peers concerning color laser printers for Photoshop.  Photoshop is a hobby not a profession so I can't go crazy monedy-wise; but I am willing to put some skin in the game as I move on from the inkjet world.  This would be a home printer for my wife and I only.  PC envrionment, MS Office mostly.  Any thoughts and recommendations are greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Which 'Windows OS upgrade' are you referring to?
My Windows 7 Professional 64-bit system has a built in (Microsoft supplied) driver: HP Color LaserJet CP1510 series PCL6.
The HP Windows 8 advice page (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c03365145 ) indicates that the Universal Print Driver (UPD) is the supported Windows 8 solution, although the notes indicate that the UPDs won't be available until 'late December', and that only PCL6 and PostScript UPDs are supported (PCL5 UPD is not supported in Windows 8).

  • When will apple start providing drivers for new mononchrome laser printers?

I have been looking for a new monochrome laser printer to replace an old one. I looked at Brother, HP and Samsung laser printers. Every one I look at has drivers for 10.8. I have no need for airprint or a multifunction printer (I already have an excellent scanner and 2 inkjet color printers). Does anyone have any suggestions? I have to say this printer driver thing is getting a little old.
    Lindsay

Apple doesn't provide the drivers.  The printer vendors do.
My general rule is to always get a laser printer with Postscript support, which can almost always be printed to, even when the vendor abandons the printer.  It costs more, but I get a much longer life from the printer.
Having said that, my Wife and I are using Mavericks and printing to our networked HP M1536dnf MFP (multi-function printer - print, scan, fax, copy).  I do not know if the drivers were updated for any specific release of Mac OS X (they could have been, I just do not know), but I got the printer when I was running Snow Leopard (10.6) and I can still print and scan with it (I have not tried go FAX, but then again, I can do that manually from the printer itself, so I do not need to use the Mac unless I do not want to print the stuff to FAX first (which would be a benefit, if I needed to actually FAX).

  • HP Laser Printers have issue after 10.9.4 update

    Hello,
I have multiple users that have laser printers that are no longer functioning correctly and the only thing they have in common is they all just recently updated to 10.9.4 Mavericks.  There is clearly a bug that is affecting communications to the network printer and even usb.  Need this corrected ASAP.
    Nick

To confirm what John Galt is reporting, I just tested printing this web page from OS X 10.9.4 to an old HP LaserJet here.  Worked correctly.
In addition to what John Galt is asking, which model(s) of HP printers are involved here?
If you're getting error dialogs or messages in the console log (available via Console.app), please post those.
If you're working with an IT organization and particularly with managed network switches, have you checked with IT about issues there?
If there are any antivirus or antimalware tools in use here, remove that miasma from at least one test system, and test printing again.

  • InDesign documents, exported to .pdfs then printed on PC and Mac laser printers - what are best settings?

Our in-house creative department produces a lot of materials that are no longer going to our commercial printer.
Projects are created in Adobe InDesign, exported as .pdfs and stored on a site, where marketing partners can then download the .pdfs and print.
Usually from laser printers, usually pcs.
I would appreciate any advice on choosing settings for the .pdf (export) to help manage color etc.
    thank you

If you are printing to laser printers by people that are not knowledgeable about color settings and device capabilities. I would not use Color Management. I would stick to something simple like Press Quality so that all the fonts used in your document will be embedded into the pdf so that you do not have to worry if the person printing the file has the fonts used in creating the documents.

Hello, i am looking for a list of printers supported by Tiger 10.4.11 running on Power G. Thanks in advance

    Hi PJ,
Heres a list of the included Drivers for Tiger...

  • HT3669 My Epson RX510 is included in the list of printers supported but on attempting to download the drivers using the method advised, I get an error message "... the software is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer's manufacturer ....".

My (old) Epson RX510 multifunction printer is included in the list of printers supported by Apple, but on following the procedure advised for downloading the printer drivers for Mountain Lion and/or Lion I get the error message " the printer software is currently unavailable and to contact the printer manufacturer. However on going to the Epson web site I get the message to go to the Apple web site as all printer drivers have been covered in the Mountain Lion software updates.
Can anyone please advise what is going on when the said printer is shown as being included in Apple's list of software included in Mountain Lion and Lion software updates?

I understand that and I have been using the printer successfully on OS X 10.5 on another old iMac.
However I also have an euqally old Canon printer and its drivers were successfully downloaded using the same procedure as recommended for the Epson.
The fact that the Epson RX510 is currently listed on the Apple Support website as being supported is the frustrating issue.
    Go to;  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#epson
    - then scroll down to the Epson section and eventually you will find the RX510 listed with Version 9.00 shown and "P" & "S" shown for printer and scanner drivers being available.
PS: Sometimes you need to click on the "Software available" link to open the list of printers. It is then a fair way down the Epson list with the RX series.

  • New printers supported on old LC II

Can anyone tell me clearly what printer cable connection and communication standards are supported by the LC II?
Background: I want to replace a Personal LaserWriter LS currently being used with the LC II, and Apple's document at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=24473 seems to make confusing and inconsistent use of the connection and communication terms (Appletalk, Localtalk, serial, Serial Peripheral 8, mini DIN-8, RS-232, RS-422). In other words, I can't go out and simply look for a printer with Macintosh support, since Mac requirements are specific and varied. One size will not fit all.
More: The Apple document indicates that the PLW LS only supports RS-232C communication over a serial Peripheral 8 cable connection. But the specs on the LC II at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=112185 and in other Apple documents merely indicate that the LC II has a serial printer port. No mention of whether it supports more than RS-232C (RS-422A or perhaps a proprietary Apple protocol).
    --John Hupp
LC II   Mac OS 8.6 or Earlier

Unfortunately, the answer to your topic title is that there are no new printers for an LC II. It really isn't necessary to differentiate the terminology used to describe the printer port. The LC II has a "mini DIN-8" Apple serial port, and Mac-compatible printers in production today connect via USB and require OS 8.6 or newer. There was a (now-discontinued) product called "PowerPrinter," that enabled the connection of "PC" printers to a Mac's serial printer port, using an adapter cable that connected to the printer's parallel port. A CD with drivers was included with the product. If you were to find a used PowerPrinter adapter, you'd need to get an older/used "supported" PC printer (driver must be included on the PowerPrinter CD). If you happen to own an older "PC" printer that's supported, you might try finding a "PowerPrinter" adapter at eBay. What OS version are you running on the LC? With the LC II's memory cap of 10 MBs, OS 7.5.5 or 7.6 would likely be the latest supported. This limits the use of newer (but still discontinued) printers, which might require OS 8.1 or newer. The Epson Stylus Color 740 (color ink jet) was one of the last, good printers for Macs, because it featured both serial and USB connectivity (and a parallel port for PCs). I don't recall the minimum OS requirement for it, but the Epson web site would have that info. These printers typically sell for $10-$15 at thrift stores, with OEM replacement black and color ink tanks still selling for about $30 each. If you'd like to stick with a laser printer, you can still find used LaserWriter LS models on eBay (and I occasionally see them donated to thrift stores). As you know, the replacement toner for one exceeds the value of the printer. If you want a color ink jet printer, I'd suggest looking for a used Apple Color StyleWriter 2400 or 2500 (both manufactured by Canon), or the Color StyleWriter 4100 or 4500 (both manufactured by HP). The latter two were Apple's last color ink jet printers sold. Of course, the other alternative would be to replace your old LC II with a newer, older Mac. Beige G3s sell for $15 at thrift stores now, and adding a USB PCI card provides options for a variety of printing solutions. The only drawback to a newer computer would be the compatibility of the programs that you're currently running on the LC II, with the minimum supported OS version (8.1) for a beige G3.

  • What HP LASER PRINTERS WORK WITH LION?

I just upgraded to Lion and now none of my existing HP printers will work...  Does anyone know what HP printers will work with Lion?

Is Apple in  cahoots with HP to make us all buy new HP printers?
Considering HP provides the drivers and Apple just ships them, I'm not sure you can blame Apple.
    Glade you found a solution.
By the way, I've been using an HP M1536dnf black & white laser printer, scaner, fax attached via ethernet into my router.  After HP released updated Lion drivers, it has worked find for all the multi-function printer functions over the network.  It also supports Airprint from my iPod Touch (after I applied an HP provided firmware upgrade to the printer).

  • 3D Printers supporting Windows 8.1 direct printing API

    Hi,
Does someone know which 3D printers have drivers that are supported by the Windows 8 API? (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/bg183398.aspx)
It seems to work with 3D System's Cube 2 (http://blogs.windows.com/bloggingwindows/2013/08/22/3d-printing-support-in-windows-8-1-explained/), but I've tried my Cube 3 with, e.g., the 3D Builder app (http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/app/3d-builder/75f3f766-13b3-45e9-a62f-29590d5781f2),
and Windows won't find the printer.
    Thanks!

There is a code sample on MSDN code gallery, you can try running it to find more information. https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsapps/3D-Printing-Sample-b5b75c86/

  • Recommended B&W Laser Printers

    Hi to all,
I have a macbook pro with the latest version of Snow Leopard. I want to buy a high quality black and white laser printer that works. I have tried so far Samsung, Canon, Brother and of course HP and I have problems with drivers or poor quality. I connect the printer to an airport express in order to make it wireless. Any recommendations, suggestions? I just want good quality text and a compact size printer with drivers that work, why is it so difficult?
    Regards

Granted "third-world" definition is very vague, and probably too widely used. But you have to admit, if you were given pennies a day to make a printer, what incentive would you have to make the best printer in the market? Or even any printer whatsoever. Unfortunately this mass-produced economy of scale does not lend itself to truly high quality production. It is for all intents and purposes an oxymoron. You will certainly get many products that on the surface are great. But once you put these printers for consumer use to the day to day business use, you'll find a weakness here and there that just do not say 100% performance at a reliable pace. I've worked in an office environment for 12 years, and have never seen a printer that I can say works reliably. Printers just don't consistantly feed properly. Or if they have built-in duplex functions, they constantly get jammed. And then multifunction office copies have e-mail functions that half the time never get an e-mail out. I don't care if it is made by Lexmark, Xerox, HP, Canon, Epson, Brother, all of them I agree will have lemons, and most if not all have inconsistant performance. High quality comes only if you have a dedicated crew ensuring that a device is idiot proof from both the software and hardware point of view. If you find such a device, or build such a device, show me it, and I'll be glad to buy it.
