HP Laserject 1200 non existant paper jam

I have a HP 1200 which worked perfectly; however whenever we send to print nothing prints out and then the amber light keeps blinking.  We check for paper jams and there are none.  Once we unplug it and then plug it back to the powerstrip, the light turns off but once we start to print it happens again.  What do you think could be the problem.  Thank you.

these printers are crap, they work great for about 2 months, then you get the paper jam error, they steps they give you wont fix it and are just a waste of your time, take it back to the store and try to get them to let you excahnge it for another brand, I got a Kodak this time and it works great, it is kind of slow about pinting, but otherwise no problems, I had 3 hp's and they all gave the false paperjam error,  I got tired of going back to the store to exchange it every 2 months

  • B9180 & the non-existent "Paper Jam"

When printing anything, the printer runs fine right up to about an inch into the print. From there, it stops, claiming that it has a paper jam. If you just hit "Ok" without doing anything, the paper feeds out just fine. It's not folded, wrinkled, or torn; it comes out like any regular piece of paper. There's no paper jam, or any debris found anywhere. I followed several support inquiries about the subject & followed all the steps (which were mostly about cleaning rollers & resetting the printer). I then spent a few hours on google to see if anyone had a similar issue & there seemed to be a few consistent threads about a paper sensor malfunctioning (see http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?admit=109447626+1303855811662+28353475&...). I'm tempted to make a trip to Radio Shack & follow some of the guides found on other sites but since this is "Expert Day", I'd like to hear from an actual expert before I dismantle the printer & start soldering. Sure, sending it to a service center would remedy the problem but as you're well aware, for the cost, I might as well get a brand new comparable printer from Epson (since there doesn't seem to be one from HP anymore).

    Hi SN24
Sounds like you've followed the steps outlined in this document , right?
Have you checked the condition of the paper and the paper settings?

  • Non-existent paper jam, HP Deskjet 3050

I have a message saying there is a paper jam, but there is no paper jam. Short of taking a screwdriver to the printer, I can't seem to fix it. I have re-booted the printer. I have pulled the power cord. There is NO paper in the feed, but it keeps saying there is a paper jam. Please help.

  • Model Officejet 6700 printer claims that there is paper jam when in fact there is none.

Printer officejet 6700 claims that there is a paper jam.  The fact is that there is none.  i can not print and the only solution   is to turn off the printer and restate. This is time consuming since I only printed a small  document.

    Hello Hvebueli123,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the printer stating that it has a paper jam even though none is present.
I do have a few steps that we can try in the attempt to troubleshoot this issue.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I have also located a document that deals with A 'Paper Jam' Error Displays on the HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One and 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Pri....
I suggest that you go through the document just in case something was over looked when checking the unit for paper.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
This could possibly be a hardware issue.
    Thanks for your time.

  • False paper jam error message on Officejet All-in-Ones

I've been helping a not-so-techie friend with his J6450 false paper jam errors.  He's now on his second one (got replacement from HP) and has same exact problem.  (We think the paper sensor is getting stuck and causing error message.)
His problem is by no means unique.  I have looked at customer reviews for this printer on many vendors' websites, and have seen horrible reviews of HP's all-in-ones because of the false paper jam error message.  By the way, none of the suggestions here seem to fix the problem, so don't waste your time uninstalling and re-installing the software.  The problem is mechanical.
With so many posts regarding false paper jam errors on these HP All-in-Ones, HP should replace these printers with a different model that does NOT have this problem, if such a model exists, at no charge, of course.

I have just spent the last 3 hours thinking I have been overlooking paper somewhere in my J6450 after consistently getting a paper jam error.  Of course my warranty has expired!  Just wondering if it would be worth fixing OR NOT?

  • HP 1350 Paper Jam

My HP 1350 All in one printer will not print documents that in the queue due to a paper jam so it says.
I have checked for a paper jam and none exists. I have cleaned all the roller. Test page will print by
pressing Cancel then Copy color and releasing together. Coping from the flatbed also works.

    Hi there stiegmann,
This article has steps for clearing paper jams. Give the steps outlined a shot and let us know if it helps. Since you cannot readily find a paper jam pay special attention to the section where it details cleaning the rollers.
    Best of Luck!

Printers usually have different paper pick torque levels depending on the paper type it is trying to print on. Check the print properties to make sure that the paper type chosen is the correct one for the type you are printing on. As a test, load some plain paper in the input tray, open a MS Document, click print, click print properties, go to the Features tab, change the paper type to plain and then press Apply. Print out the document and hopefully this time it does not jam.

  • Hp INkjet 3545 paper jam and improper shutdown messages

I bought and new packed piece of Inkjet 3545 all in one printer about 2 days back. After installation of the cartridges, black and tri color, and closing the top lib, the printer has been persistent with a paper jam message. The display tells me that there is a jam, but i have checked very tohoroughly everywhere. not a piece of a paper. The printer was box packed when i received and it has been in this adamant loop ever since.
Also along with this paper jam issue, the printer always tells me that last shutdown  was "an improper shutdown". I have tried with the shutdown button and with a reset to factory settings also. Nothign seems to work. Can someone help me with this. I checked the  discussion board ad many folks have similar issues. But none of the suggestions seem to work for me.

    Hello @nazgul,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand your Deskjet 3545 prompting with a paper jam message. I will do my best to assist you! Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector. I just want to see if this makes a difference.
Follow this entire HP document on A 'Paper Jam' Message Displays on the Control Panel. Please double check to make sure there is no paper within this printer.
If your printer is stating "Improperly shutdown", this is fine. It just means you unplugged the printer in a different way. Please try this reset on your printer. Leave the printer turned on>Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer for more than 60 seconds. Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great day!

I bought HP officejet j4680 all-in-one two months ago from a dealer. Now it keeps telling me a "paper jam" which doesn't exist. I tried everything from the troubleshooting in HP website. The jam light just keeps blinking. Now I am so frustrated with this product.

  • ESys 3920 paper jam

I keep getting "Paper jam" message but there is no jam and test card prints fine. Printer will not print from laptop. There is a link. Have gone thru all HP suggestions. Can anyone help?

    don't buy it.
I had the paper feed problem - now a paper jam message (with no paper jam) - and HP is not interested in my business.  I installed this on 1/22/2010 and after about 300 pages, it is unusable.  (and "out of warranty")  Ridiculous.  I have gone back and forth with HP over the past 3 weeks and I have no progress to report.  Sad.
Excellent history with 970 - 970Cse - 7310cxi - and coutless printers before that.  WHAT HAPPENED???
ok - done venting I think.
I don't know how to fix this - HP doesn't seem to know what to do besides replacing it with the same model that eventually has the same problem.  I will keep watching this in case there is real progress on this issue.  In the meantime, I fired up the 7310 and will NOT buy another HP unless I hear that they have their act back together.  (If they take too long, I'll go to Consumer Reports and pick the best printer there (non-HP))
    Good Luck

  • "Your script uses objects from a non-existent collection"

I have a multiple page form with a barcode on each form.  I created a separate collection for each barcode.  The auto generated code looks fine and has the correct collection created, however I still get the error, Paper Forms Barcode error "Your script uses objects from a non-existent collection".
I'm not sure what is wrong and I don't know how to fix it.  Anyone else run into this?

You will need to create a shared folder in Dropbox, then populate that with what ever folders you need to organize the files. It appears the DropBox app, will not handle this, but you can do, it by logging in to you account via Safari. Once the folders are created, they will show up in the app. Likewise with designating the folders as shared. Anyone you wish to share with will need a Dropbox account. (using the public folder will not work since links out it are for files only, not folders. An odd restriction, but it is what it is).
IF you have copies of the files on a PC, you will find that will be the easiest place to upload them from. If they are only in iBooks on the iPad, you will need to synch and use the file management function to copy them off. not sure if you can synch them back over to DropCopy within iTunes (never tried it).
DEpending on your needs, a couple of apps to look into are iCab Mobile (a browser), and GoodReader (doc viewing and management app). Both integrate well with DropBox.

  • Simulating a non-existent printer

    SIMULATING A NON-EXISTING PRINTER
Before buying an expensive colour laser I would like to be able to take it for an imaginary test drive at home, check out all the printer options, generate Postscript files for the printer, and so on. Just play around with it basically. Then when I test drive in the store, I already am familiar with the printer and can really put it through its paces.
So, is it possible to simulate having a printer if all the PPD files, and whatever other files are needed, are in the system but there is no printer connected? Or does the Mac require the printer to be present and have a two way conversation with it? I've used HP and Xerox installers but can never get the printer to come up under Print Centre, because I suppose there's no printer connected.
Thanks in advance for any comments.

    Hi Guy,
As you mentioned, the driver may not work if it can't actually find the printer. I've done this a few times myself. Every so often, the driver will work. Which is nice because then you can see all of the print and color options. Just as easy though is to go to the manufacturer's web site and download the user manual. They almost always have these as a PDF document.
Beyond the actual use of the printer, color is another issue. Since all papers affect how color will look from the same printer, there's no way to tell what you'll get in regard to color unless you print on the paper you will be using. Better of course to profile it first if there is no profile from the manufacturer for the type of paper you want to use. But then you need profiling software and hardware.

Yes, I think most of us do understand what open source software is. It sounds as if you don't. Here's some information:
Open-source software (OSS) is computer software that is available in source code form: the source code and certain other rights normally reserved forcopyright holders are provided under an open-source license that permits users to study, change, improve and at times also to distribute the software.
Open source software is very often developed in a public, collaborative manner. Open-source software is the most prominent example of open-sourcedevelopment and often compared to (technically defined) user-generated content or (legally defined) open content movements.

Yes, Tom Wu of Stanford wrote a paper on something called Secure Remote Access Protocol. It's a form of Asymetric Key Exchange and has nothing to do with hacking anything. It's actually intended to protect data.
