HP LaserJet 100 colorMFP M175nw scanned images are too bright

Hello!
Is there a way to change scanner's default image color correction as currently all of resulted scanned images (text documents, graphics, photos) are unnaturally too bright?
I had another HP Ink Jet printer also with scanner and all scanned images have good color correction there.
So I think there is a problem with my current one.
Does anyone knows how to fix it?
Thanks.

Hello, Futoji!
Sorry for big delay.
I did what you've told me and now I am wondering about what I see.
1) To scan documents I use both HP Scan and Apple Image Capture with default settings (no color correction).
Well it does not matter, though, because I see bright pictures right after scanning them.
2) I scan documents from flatbed (not feeder), well it is the same for feeder.
3) So, what I noticed was that printer scanned document and printed it almost exactly as it was only using hardware buttons on it.
But when I did scan using both programs above the same document, it was getting too bright to be real... When I printed such scanned image the result was accordingly bad.
So, what I think is that this scanner works differently for hardware buttons and software or applies some filters on the resulted image...
I found 2 similar posts to mine, they are describing the same problem for different printers, but unfortunately they didn't seem to be solved.

  • Laserjet 100 ColorMFP M175nw

Laserjet 100 ColorMFP M175nw. I have owned this printer from new just after its release, a little over a year now.
For the last couple of months my printer has been stealing my color prints from my business cards.
I have used cleaning sheets, The first two business cards on the sheet of ten come out ok but the remaining 8 get progressively worse and by the last two my logo has been half removed. Leaving me with useless waste.
Why is this happening and how to i correct it?
Ive used the cleaning action and the paper comes out with streaks of dirty toner. Obviously from the transfer roller or the heater roller.
Ive replace the toner cartridges too.

    Hi den52
Sorry to learn the suggestion did not help,
I will reach out to some forums participants, I will to see if they can come up with other suggestions,

  • Photoshop CS2:  Saved Images Are Too Bright

Hi, I currently have a Photoshop CS2 problem that I need fixed.
When I go to save my files as a .PNG, .JPG, or any other file type (minus PSD), the images come out way too bright. But just by looking at the shortcut to the image, it looks exactly the same as it does in Photoshop. I'm currently having it at RGB Mode and 8 bit/channel settings. I've tried to mess around with the Color Management settings but with no luck. Can anyone help me out with this one?

bright where? outside of photoshop, like in a browser? you probably need to recalibrate your monitor, for a start.
bumping this for you in the meantime.

  • Hewlett-Packard HP LaserJet 100 colorMFP M175nw Double-Side Scan Malfuction

I tried using the double sided scan.  It worked once.  Then stopped.  I tried everything including driver reinstall.  Please help.

    Hey @dpimatrix,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you would like to duplex scan on your HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw to your Windows 8.1 computer. Just so you are aware, this HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw does not have automatic duplexing abilities. Therefore, should you want to double-sided scan, you will physically have to flip the pages over to achieve this. Please follow the steps below for instructions on how to manually double-side scan.
    1. Open your HP Scan Software
    2. Select Save as PDF or Save as Jpeg
    3. Load the first page on the flatbed glass face down and hit Scan on the HP Scan software
    4. Once your see the preview of the first page, lift the flatbed cover and load the second page face down
    5. Next, click the (+) Add page button on the bottom left of the HP Scan software. The second page will now scan in.
    6. Continue these steps until all pages are scanned in and then select Save.
Please let me know if these steps resolve your two-sided scan issues. Good luck!

  • CL acquisition hangs when image gets too bright?

I'm having a bit of a strange problem and I can't be sure whether it's the camera or the board: basically, in any run mode, when the image gets too bright, the aquisition stops and I get a timeout in MAX.This is with a PCIe-1433 and a Point Grey Gazelle. Capping the camera and restarting the acquistion works fine. This happens any time the majority of the image gets to ~80% brightness.
Making things more confusing, this can sometimes be fixed by switching cables (the same model 5 meter NI cable, but just a different one); now, however, I have a couple of cameras that exhibit this with any cable and so I need to get it figured out. It certainly might be a camera issue or some combination and so I'm contacting PGR as well. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance for any info!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thanks for the replies so far.
    * If the brightness is overdriven with EITHER gain OR exposure OR aperture OR by shining a light in the camera, it can happen.
    * It seems that choosing different cables or a different camera can change the amount of overdrive required to do this, but it can always be forced.
    * If I clip the acquisition window and overdrive outside the window, still happens. If I clip the ROI on-camera and overdrive outside that, does not happen.
    * Strangely, in the NI camera file generator, a "Snap" will always succeed, no matter how bright. The "Grab" will fail with a timeout if the image starts too bright.
    * Bit of a breakthrough. The gradient test pattern (which contains 16384 of each grey level) works fine no matter what I do with the physical camera. The pseudo-random pattern (Snap attached) causes this failure.
    * In 2-tap mode (which is a no go for frame rate, but I checked for troubleshooting) I can see the pseudorandom pattern with no problems, but overdrive still causes the initial issue.
Unless there's something really weird happening, this makes me think that the problem, such as it is, lies with the board. Something to do with how it is detecting blanking, or the end of the frame, is being fooled by the pattern?
Thanks so much for the test pattern tip, BlueCheese, I still down have a fix but I know where to direct my attention now.

  • HP LaserJet 400 colorMFP M475dw scan to email problems

    Hi all!
I'd very much appreciate a solution to my agony.
We recently purchased a HP LaserJet 400 colorMFP M475dw multifunction printer. Now I'm trying to set it up (browser administration -> Scan --> Outgoing E-mail Profiles) to send scanworks by email but facing following problems:
    1. When typed in all the credentials correctly, even the "Test & Save" option takes ages. After cople attempts I got it succesfully tested.
    2. Using my personal gmail-accout as sender, the scanning work takes a long time. It stops in connecting smtp server phase for quite a long time before even starting the actual scan.
    3. Using the company's newly created email accounts as sender, it takes even longer. I just timed it to take 6 minutes and 23 seconds before it started the actual scanning.
    4. Now it seems to send the scan ok, but with some of the first attempts it failed with some general error message asking to try again.
In my opinion the time it takes is totally unacceptable. Is this some known issue and is there a workaround?
Our company emails run on MS Office 365 and I'm using smtp.office365.com as the smtp server, port 587 and SSL/TLS checked (tried unchecked too). As I said with Gmail it might not be as slow but still very very very slow.
    Please help?
    This question was solved.

I also wanted to know if a HP M575f MFP is able to scan-to-email to MS Office 365 before buying the printer.
Because I didnt find reliable information in the internet, I contacted HP Germany.
Today they told me that HP printers don't support Office 365. The original wording was:
'Allerdings wird Office 365 nicht von unseren HP Druckern unterstützt.'
     So far my present knowledge.

  • Pictures and Scanned images are now gray boxes

I have Adobe Reader XI and it will no longer show images or allow me to scan from my printer.  I have a mac, and have always been able to create pdfs and scan to them until the past few days. My version is up to date. Images in pdfs and the scanned documents now appear as gray boxes.

All  your images are pointing to your Templates folder. I would guess that they are not uploaded to the server.
I don't think that is the ideal place to store your images. Normally, one would have an image folder and images would be there. Also your css is also in your Templates folder, not ideal again.
    IE:
    Your css: <link href="../Templates/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    Your image(s): <a href="../Templates/still_life_1_css.html"><img src="../Templates/still_life_1_thumb.jpg" width="35" height="35" border="0" /></a> <a href="../Templates/still_life_2_css.html"><img src="../Templates/still_life_2_thumb.jpg" width="35" height="35" border="0" /></a>
Usually when they are greyed out, then could be a broken link.

  • Imported JPEG images are too light

Imported JPEG images appear lighter/brighter than the scanned image.
How can I make JPEG images appear with the correct lightness/brightness so they look like the actual book or magazine from which they were scanned?
Using Apple's "Preview" to look at a JPEG- everything looks fine. But when a JPEG is imported into Motion 4.0.3 (and/or Final Cut Pro 7.0.3), the image appears lighter/brighter, as if it's washed out. To see if this is just the way a JPEG appears in Motion and not how the finished product will be, I exported a Motion project with one or more JPEGs as a QuickTime movie. The QuickTime movie does not bring the JPEG image(s) back to the "correct" lightness/brightness as the scanned image.
    Settings used:
JPEG image, using a CanoScan LiDE 210 scanner, Color Space: RGB, Color Profile: sRGB IEC61966-2.1, current Monitor Gamma setting on the scanner is set to 1.80
How can I make JPEG images appear in Motion (and Final Cut Pro) so they are true to the source from which they were scanned?

Does it do the same thing when you use TIFFs?

  • Upoading files file images are too small to see on file upload screen

Upon wanting to send photos or files via email when i come to the file upload screen the images are very small and almost impossible to see.this is affecting both safari and firefox.how can i make the images larger so i can see what files i am actually uploading?

    Hi,
I am not sure I was clear enough. (EDIT Some testing before finally posting this does show some strangeness)
I was suggesting that in the View Options bit you set the Size to what you want (Before using the Upload site) so that when (and If) you change the View in the Pop Up screen to Icon View the icons are big enough. (See note below though)
List and Column views do show very small Icons that cannot be changed in size, hence the need to use the Icon view and possibly a Naming convention that helps if the pics are very similar like the pic I posted (a whole series of iChat Preferences pics) or possibly deciding before Uploading and creating a sub folder of just the ones to be uploaded.
NOTE:- However I also checked if I set the Icon View in the Finder first to 128 X 128 and then used Google Mail to Add an Attachment the Pop up, view as it were, keeps to the size in the pic I posted.
I will also try Quitting Firefox just in case it is holding some old info.
    I will also try Safari
    EDIT 2
Tried Safari and the Icons are a default size it seems.
Zoom Only makes the selection (of Pics) window bigger/full screen, hiding the Browser (Alt Key and Zoom reduces it again).
Also tried setting the View Options at the Desktop Level (Have yet to use it as the Default)

  • Imported RAW images are too dark

I'm using Aperture2.0.1 and importing RAW images from a Canon 1D MkIII. All the images are coming in significantly darker than they show in the camera's display. The camera's histogram shows that the images are correctly exposed but they require boosting in Aperture's Exposure panel of anywhere from + 1.15 to 1.5 before they look right in Aperture. That's quite a hefty shift. I get a similar situation in Capture One Pro but the same images right off the card look bang on in Canon's Digital Photo Professional. In Adobe Lightroom it takes a shift of only +.5 to get into the right range. The exposure settings for the test were done with a Sekonic L-758DR meter and manually setting 3 580EX's but the problem shows up in all kinds of garden variety shots with or without flash. My preferred app is Aperture but I'm sick of having to adjust all my shots to get them into range.
Is there something I'm missing here?
    Thanks,
    Geoff

AMAZING!! Thanks for solving this mystery for me. Disabled the Highlight Priority and the shot comes into aperture looking like I it needs no adjustment. There are some clipped peaks in the histogram so there are some minor blown highlights. If I use Highlight Priority, it prevents the clipping and when I adjust the exposure level in Aperture the shot does look right without losing the highlight so Highlight Priority may be the right way to go when I'm shooting jewelry. But your post explains why the images were darkened.
    Thanks again,
    Geoff

  • Photo images are too dark

Photo images loaded into Safari or Facebook, by me or by others, are too dark and I can't find a way to improve them.

Thanks Peter & Sid. I appreciate the advice, but it doesn't match our experience over 12 years of designing web applications so I'm having trouble understanding what's different, can I ask for any more advice you might have?
If we calibrate the monitor using the recommended tools, will Photoshop images look 2-3 f-stops brighter (i.e. as they should look) and will images in all other apps (which look fine now, have always looked fine) look 2-3 f-stops too bright? Or would we be changing JUST the way Photoshop sees the images?
Through probably a dozen different previous CRT and LCD monitors, we've never calibrated anything. Even on our immediately-previous Samsung 213T monitor, images appear pretty much the same in Photoshop as they do in all other places. That includes published web sites viewed with several popular browsers and viewed on literally hundreds of different systems inside and outside of our office.
The previous monitor was being used with exactly the same software and hardware as the new one. The only thing that's changed is the monitor.
Peter asks about brightness or white point luminance. I haven't used any tool to determine that. The monitor is set to 50% brightness, for whatever that's worth, but I can tell you that it is substantially BRIGHTER on white than the previous monitor. The previous Samsung monitor is being run side-by-side with the new one, and it looks quite dull and yellow beside the new one (and we thought it was a great monitor!) The new 30" Samsung has MUCH whiter whites. Does that help even a little?
    Thanks for any further advice.

  • Fireworks CS-4 Slideshow images are too small. How can I fix this?

I've used the Fireworks CS-4 slideshow, for the Portfolio page of my website, for awhile now. However, more recently, after I've added new images to my slideshow, and previewed the slideshow in my browser, all the images are showing up way too small in the viewing area (slightly larger than thumbnail size). This was not happening before. I am running Windows 7 Pro on a 64 bit machine. Originally, I was running Vista Home Premium. Have not "put" the updated slideshow until issue is resolved. What may be causing the smaller images? What can I do to fix the problem? I'm a wysiwyg designer; not a techy. Thanks.

Here is a screenshot of what is loading....
    I can't even get add-ons or extensions.

  • Imported images becomes too bright

When I'm importing RAW images in my Aperture 2.1.4, my images becomes very brighter, something like 2 F Stop.
I'm wondering why, and what to do to resolve the problem....
    Thx !

Strangely, I have exactly the opposite problem. Images darken (visibly) during or immediately after an image is imported.
I haven't found the solution, and have actually migrated to Lightroom largely because of this and problems with how exported images are rendered - dull and dark. The latter could simply be a problem with not using the correct colour profile when exporting.
I thought it might have to do with enabling the Onscreen Proofing feature (View > Onscreen Proofing), but having played with that there's no noticeable difference.
Have you had any further luck investigating the problem?

  • How does one change the folder to which scanned images are saved?

Using a CanoScan 9000F Mark II scanner
Using the ScanGear driver software that came with it
Right now every time I scan something, it is automatically saved in "My Documents", and I have to drag and drop the file where I really want it to go. How do I change it so that the file is saved where I want it to go in the first place. Also, it is automatically assigning a file name so that I have to go to the file and change that to what I would like it to be too. How do I make it so that I can name the file before it gets saved. Neither do I see where it gives me the option to choose the format in which the file is saved; it is saving the files automatically as JPG, but I would like to save them as TIFF or BMP.
These seem to be very standard options; so I don't know why I'm finding it so hard. I must be blind or something.
Thank you for your time and assistance.

    Hello barbarossa,
Great question!  You can change all these settings through the My Image Garden software.  The exact procedure will vary depending on the version of Windows you are using.
If you are having any difficulty locating this software, feel free to visit the link below to let us know your operating system and we can follow-up with step-by-step directions.  Thanks!
