HP LaserJet 1320 no print on page

HP LaserJet 1320 stopped printing on page.  Paper comes out of printer but No ink on page.  No ink on test page.
New toner cartridge---

There are only a few pieces that could be defective when troubleshooting print defects with laser printers.  To know for sure you should perform what is known as a half way/half page test: http://www.printertechs.com/printer-troubleshooting/halfway-test Run the test, find out where the defect starts and replace the component responsible for it.  If you cannot find replacement parts then its time to trash that printer and move on.

    Hullo sir,
I'm Facing Black catridge problem within 2 months of purchase HP laserjet p1108 by printing 300 pages. The printer window shows you have to print pages < 50.what cani do?

    Hi @thangaraj,
I see by your post that you have only printed 300 pages and it is now it is showing you have less the 50 pages left.
I would like to help you resolve this issue.
Is this the original toner that shipped with the printer?
You should get approximately 1500 pages according to the specifications for what ships in the box.
The page count is based on page yield. Depending on what you were printing.
Still I believe you should have gotten more then 350 pages, unless you were printing full page pictures in black and white.

  • HP LaserJet 1320 Duplex Printing Not working with Windows 7

    Hi
I've just bought a new PC with Windows 7 Home Premium. I have an HP LaserJet 1320 printer (Prod no. Q5927A, SN CNGW53RLRY).
I cannot find driver that works the same way as the previous driver HP LaserJet PCL5. If I use this driver and can still get duplex printing but it will only print one copy at a time.
If I upgrade to HP Universal Printing PLC (or PLC v5) I can print multiple copies but not duplex printing. I have searched high and low through the HP site but to no avail.
Any help and advice will be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    GB

    Hello,
I've seen this same issue with my printers (other HP printers) whereby the default setting to support the Duplexing hardware was set to 'off'.
A quick method to check this is look at what the setting is for Duplex hardware in the Device Settings tab, and if it's not set, correct it.
      Printer Properties:
From the 'Start' orb -> [Devices & Printers] -> right click on your Printer icon -> select 'Printer Properties' -> click on 'Device Settings' tab.
You should see a dialog similar to the mine (attached): look for the 'Duplex unit (for 2-sided printing)' and see if it's set to "Not Installed":
--> in either case, click on 'Not installed' and from the dropdown box, select 'Installed'... Click 'OK' to accept the changes and close the dialog.
    Printing Preferences:
again, right click on your Printer icon -> select 'Printing Preferences' -> click on 'Advanced' tab.
-->Check to see if there is a 'Duplex Hardware' or '2-sided printing' option in here: mine doesn't show one but thougth I'd mention it nonetheless.
Click on the 'Finishing' tab and select 'Print on both sides'...or simply test print a multi-page document and set those preferences on-the-fly.
Let me know if this helps...

  • HP Laserjet 1320 not printing PDF files

I can't print PDF or JPG files from my MacBook Pro to my HP Laserjet 1320, connected on USB. MS Word files are printing fine and so are Test Print commands. This has morphed today from an earlier problem a few days where only the 1st page of PDF documents was printing. The printer blinks the green light for a while and then goes back to normal. The Print Box on the Mac says "Printing - Sending Data to Printer" for a while, and then the file name, etc disappear, and everything is back to normal, as if nothing ever happened. Meanwhile MS Word files go on printing without any problem.

I have been experiencing the same problem.
    (I moved from 10.6.8 to 10.10.2)
I did a lot of searching and these two steps have helped. (possibly fixed it for good?)
Run  "Disk Utility" —> Verify Disk Permissions (Repair any errors)
The printer settings need to be reset.  (see link below)  NOTE: You will lose all the printers in your system settings and have to reinstall them.
    https://support.apple.com/kb/PH18614?locale=en_US
Please note that HP does not have a update for 10.10.2 for this model.
The last driver version from HP is: 19.8
Adobe does not have a plug-in update that I can find, yet...
The more you change the settings as you use each proram (firefox, word, numbers, safari, adobe reader) the worse the problem seems to get. I would suggest that you pick one setting and keep it.  (Program based settings seem to be less prone to errors.)
Let me know if this helps.

  • HP LJ 1320 only prints blank pages

The printer will only print blank pages. Test pages are also blank (including from the Green Button). This is a recurring issue. It was solved in the past by fiddling with the cartridge and mechanical parts inside (we don't know what exactly sovled the problem). Toner is full. I ran the HP Diagnostic Tool and it found no "X"s.
I verified that the following mechanical parts are functional:
switch on left side of cartridge door
plastic tab on top right of door, which connects to laser spring/switch
spring/switch underneath top panel, which seems to enable laser
    arm/gears to enable paper spindle
contacts on printer-side of toner/printer connection (this part slides from side to side 1/4 inches, and I tried printing with it in various locations)
There seem to be no error beeps/tones when the printer starts up or when I close the toner door. (However, it was capable as I bypassed one of the switches and it made an error tone at that point).
I think it must be something like a dead laser (however, I think the laser is invisible and we cannot test tosee if it is functional).
Any other ideas/solutions would be appreciated.
I forgot to mention that the low-toner light is not lit, and we've had this issue with both new and old-working toners cartridges.

  • My LaserWriter Pro 630 thinks it's a LaserJet IIP and prints dirty pages!

I recently aquired a LaserWriter Pro 630, and have been trying to get it to work. I've been using it with a WinXP Pro SP2 laptop as my PowerMac G4 doesn't have a parallel port and my print server has not arrived yet.
Basically, the only time it'll print anything is when the push button on the printer interface rail is set to 1 or 3 - which is PCL output. While the printer will print when set to PCL, it's output is... undesirable. When configured in XP as a LaserWriter Pro 630, it simply starts printing out the raw PostScript sent to the printer! interestingly enough, the printer will print on push button setting 4 - it'll print the printer spec sheet, and nothing else. Anything other than 1, 3, 04 4 will result in the printer thinking for a bit then giving an "out of paper light" or having the print job pass on in to oblivion, not giving an error on the printer or computer.
Now, the LW Pro 630 supports LaserJet IIP emulation... So I manually configured the driver to a LaserJet IIP in XP, set the push button to 3, and it prints! Only problem is, the pages look like they were sent through a bad fax machine.
I uploaded the scan of the XP Printer Test page here (http://img221.imageshack.us/my.php?image=lwpro630xp2cq7.jpg). Obviously the printer works, but I'd rather not print reports and whatnot on it when it looks like this.
For reference, here's the scan of the printer spec sheet that prints when the push button's set to 4 (http://img221.imageshack.us/my.php?image=lwpro630specsdy0.jpg).
Does anyone have an idea how I can resolve the LaserWriter's identity crisis and make it print cleanly again? Thanks!

The LaserWriter Pro 630 is a Postscript level 2 printer with LocalTalk, serial, Ethernet, and parallel interfaces.
To use it with your Mac, you may need to convert its 14-pin AAUI Ethernet port (marked with <_> Icon) to an RJ45 Ethernet port by adding a used US$5 transceiver.
It can then be used with the standard Apple LaserWriter driver when you turn on AppleTalk on your Ethernet port. No additional print server is required to use with a Mac.
The overall smudginess is caused by shipping it with the cartridge in place, with the tape seal removed. The toner has flown all over the inside of the cartridge. You need a new cartridge.
The LaserWriter test page is trying to explain the settings of the number dial in the center oval of the printout. It lists the ports in order and the settings imposed by each switch setting:
8 -- for the MiniDIN-8 port, used for LocalTalk
RS-232 -- for the RS-232 port, probably a DB-25, and shows the serial settings, like 9600, 8 data, etc.
Ethernet -- for the AAUI Ethernet port, which accepts Postscript level 2 data using "EtherTalk" -- AppleTalk-over-Ethernet
parallel -- for Centronics parallel, which will likely only provide HP PCL 4+ emulation and not Postscript.

  • HP LaserJet Pro CM141 prints blank pages and jams on nothing

My HP LaserJet Pro CM141 is printing mostly blank pages. Some pages come out with thick, verticle lines of smudged gray but other than that, it's totally blank.  It does this for printing or copying and wireless or connected via USB.  It started doing this after a wierd occurance where it would not stop printing the same print job over and over. After restarting it several times, I finally got it to stop printing the same print job but now, as I said above, it just prints blank pages. It also frequently claims to have a paper jam when it hasn't even attempted to take up a sheet of paper. The scanner still works, it's about 4 years old. The black cartiridge supply is at 90% although the colors are admittedly at 0% (but the lack of color never caused a problem before, I just print everything in black and white.)  I already went through the steps of the trouble shooting guide, http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c02260982

Since you have only one toner cartridge with toner it is possible that toner cartridge has an issue.  I would try at least another known good black toner cartridge.

  • HP Color LaserJet CP3525n keeps printing blank pages without stopping

Hi, I'm having trouble with this printer, it keeps printing blank pages one after anotther as soon as it is turned on. Some pages are completely blank others have smiley faces and other characters on it. And it keeps doing this even after it has been restarted. Any idea how to fix this problem?

    1. take out all of the ink cartriges and look at the big black roller on the door for streaking, if streaking, clean with a lint free cloth dampened with windex (window cleaner) then close the door.
    2. let it run to initializing.
    3. open the door and look and the black roller on the door to see if you have streaking. If no streaking put one cartridge in and close the door and repeat the steps until you find what cartridge is causing the problem.
I did this and found that my cyan was creating the lines on my paper. I cleaned the cyan roller with a Qtip and some rubbing alcohol and it works fine now, no more lines on the paper.
    Cheers

  • LaserJet Pro Scans, prints test page but will not print from a file

I installed a LaserJet Pro200 MFP M276nw on my wife's Toshiba Satellite (Windows 7 64Bit OS) laptop yesterday (Printer is brand new out of the box). I installed with a wireless connection. It will print a test page and also scan wirelessly but will not print from a file i.e. a PDF. I installed it on my HP Probook this morning and it works fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The thought of paying Geek Squad 75 bucks rubs me the wrong way, especially since i just paid them 100 for an extended warranty. Thanks!

  • How to setup HP LaserJet 1320 to print from Windows using Airport Express

My situation was that I could print locally when the printer was directly plugged into the computer's USB port but when I tried to print through the Airport Express (with the printer plugged into the AEBS USB port) nothing would happen. (I could print fine from my MacBook Pro, just not from any Windows machine.)
It seems (although I'm still not quite sure why) that the issue was with the port address created by the Bonjour for Windows wizard.
The following worked like a charm:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1688294

I don't think it answers the original question. PrintCentral, according to the description you are pointing to print
    s to:
    1) most wireless printers (he's got a network printer, I assume a wired one)
Works just fine on my 2 Ethernet network printers.
    2) all printers via a Mac. This option although useful looks a bit strange. If I have to have a Mac on all the time, I would use it to view stuff and print from there. No need for an iPad.
Not sure why you would want to use this option if you want to print directly from the iPad to a printer. My wife's iPad prints to either network printer just fine when my Mac laptop is shut down.
Looking for a solution myself... We need CUPS for iPad!
You might want to let Apple know.

  • HP LaserJet 1320 won't print in color (Win7 64 bit, new cartridge)

I can't get my HP Laserjet 1320 to print in color any more. Changed the cartridge. I'm on Windows 7, 64 bit, but the issue started before the upgrade to Win 7. I can't even find the selection for color vs black and white printing.

The LaserJet 1320 printer is a monochrome printer, not a colour printer.

Any print leads to a bad scan. The printer has the latest flash and all workstations are using the latest scanner drivers.Any ideas?

Hi , Thanks for getting back to me! It's not abnormal to see some print quality issues once your toner is lower that 20%. Were you able to complete the steps in the document that I sent? Is there any cyan on the print quality printout at all? If not, it could be a defective toner cartridge. I would suggest contacting HP Support to inquire about a replacement if it is a Genuine HP toner cartridge.**Fill in the model number and the form to receive a case number for quicker assistance. If a replacement toner cartridge does not resolve the issue, then it's possible that the printer may need to be serviced. Hope this helps! Thanks again for posting, and have a great day.

  • Laserjet won't print multiple copies on Windows 8

  • HP Laserjet 1320 will not print ?selected pages

I have the HP Laserjet 1320 and when in a Word document and I want to print a selected page (i.e. page 2 of 4 only), under Pages on the Print Menu, I enter 2 or 2-2 and select print and it will not print!  I can scroll down to place the pointer on page and tell it to print "current page" and it will print - why will it not print when I enter the page number I want to print.

  • Problem print all pages on my HP Laserjet 1320 from my Mac

I am having a strange printing problem.
Happens in almost any program (Mail / Excel /Preview/Word/TextEdit/etc.).   I can ask it to print a one page document.  It spools, the printer flashes.  The computer said it is done but nothing printed.   On the same document, if I tell it to print 2 copies of the one page document, it will print one page sometimes and two pages other times.  When printing long multipage documents it will sometimes not print the last page.   It is almost as if the needs to be something at the end of the print job to push the last bit along to the printer and complete the print job.  It only started happening 3-4 months ago.  Now I have to check everything I print to make sure it is all there.  This printer is connected to my Mac Mini via USB.
If I send the same print jobs to the company network printer....everything prints fine.  (Kyocera - copier/printer/scanner/fax combo unit)
Here is some info on My system.
    Mac Mini 2.3 GHZ i5 / 4GB memory
    OS X 10.9.5
    Printer is HP Laserjet 1320
I have deleted and reinstalled the printer several times and no joy.

I've also had problems with the HP 1320 and my Mac. Some things print, while others just give a blinking green light and then it goes off. This recently happened to me while trying to print a series of labels from Word. Giving up on the HP, I decided to print the labels off my inkjet printer and placed a number a labels in the printer and hit print for 100 copies. Since I had being doing some other things in-between, I didn't notice that the print select had also gone to my default printer the HP. Suddenly, thinking the inkjet was to print the labels, the HP starts printing those labels. I then noticed that the HP was the printer selected, but I was at a loss to figure out why it suddenly had started to actually print the item that I was previously unable  to do. I finally determined that when I tried printing to the HP with the initial (1) copy it would not print; if I changed that number to (2) it would print one copy; if (3) I would get 2 copies; thus the print was giving exactly one less copy than I selected; thus when I select (1) copy it reads it as 0, will blink green and give me nothing. Give it a try.
