HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP - Install operation took too long to execute.

I am running Windows XP.  When attempting to install the full driver (print, scan, fax), the setup gets to 99% and then hangs.  Eventually I receive the error message "An install operation took too long to execute.  This is a fatal error preventing product use."  There are no error codes.  I have looked through various postings and searched the internet for resolutions.  Have spent hours trying different ways but all have the same result.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thank you!

If you cannot get the installation to install, did you try some of the steps in the link Shane_R offered in the previous post?
Are you installing the printer USB, wireless, or Ethernet?
What method are you using to install (download or software disc)?
If download, which driver are you having problems with?
If the previous document didn't help, then it may be a startup-service preventing the installation from going through.  Turn off your anti-virus software temporarily and follow the instructions in the link below on how do turn those services off and how to update the installer just during the installation process, and then let me know how it goes.
--A fatal error occurred during installation' (MSI Error 1603) Displays During HP Software Installatio...--
I know you said your problem is different than the one mentioned above but I think these steps will be the same and hopefully get your printer installed.  If it doesn't help, answer my questions above please so I can determine the next step to take.
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.

    Hi @Slup ,
I see by your post that the installation is stalling at 99%. Thank you for provided all the steps you have already taken.
I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.
    Disconnect the USB cable first.
Remove the drivers first from the Print Server Properties if you have a printer icon listed in the Devices and Printers window. Highlight the printer, across the top of the window, click on Printer Server Properties, on the Driver tab, highlight and remove the printer, LaserJetPro 200 clr MFP M276nw and any Universal PCL drivers.
Uninstall the software from the CD. Touch the Windows key and the E key to access the computer window. Right click on the CD for the printer, left click open in a new window, double click on uninstall.
    Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Then start the installation again, immediately follow the steps in this document after connecting the USB cable please.

Disregard the printer model. This should allow the software to fully install properly.
    Test the printer.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)

  • Unable to deploy apps to SharePoint: "Operation took too long"

Hi, I am currently developing a SharePoint application. Until recently I was able to deploy my application without any issues. However, I have been unable to deploy any custom application to SharePoint over the last couple of days. Installation of custom
applications now seems to hang for about 15 minutes before the server responds with an error message "The operation took too long." I am perplexed, as the deployment process has been working fine made I have made no major changes to my application.
Please let me know if you have any ideas!
    Thanks

    Hi Venktesh,
    Thanks for your prompt response.
Sorry I should have mentioned this earlier.
I am getting error at this line...
    p_clob := p_clob || UTL_RAW.cast_to_varchar2 (UTL_ENCODE.base64_encode (DBMS_LOB.SUBSTR (l_bfile, ncurrent_pointer, l_step)));
This loop runs for around 5 times i.e. 5000 * 4 = 20000 and then errors out after that.
If size of my image is below 23000, it works fine.
Still do you think it is related to BFILE. Actually BFILE operation works successfully for around 4 times.

  • Bought an HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP, installed on network,. registered w/HP, signed up for E-Print

When I try to sign in onto e-print, I get an invalid login error

    Hi IndianWellsCH,
I just want to verify the steps you have performed.
    Printer installed on the network.
You currently have the latest firmware version installed: 2011-04-05 Version:20110405.
Enabled web services by logging into your printer's EWS (Embedded webserver).
ePrint mobile printer code  has sheet printed.
If that's the case then you only need,
Go to www.hpeprintcenter.com,click Sign In, then click small blue Sign Up button at the top of the box and fill out your info.
Click Add Printer, then enter your printer code.
    Customize your printer's email address.
    That's pretty much it.
If already have an ePrintCenter account, then on the main page you will then need to click Sign In, then below where you would enter your password click the "Forgot Password" link  and enter your personal email address you use to create this account.
***NOTES***   As of now, registering your printer with HP doesnt auto register you with our ePrint Center website.

when i install on new pc its works but after some days its stops scanning and then never scan again until you reinstall oerating system

    Hello ITEngineer,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Regarding the LaserJet 1536 not being able to scan, I would like to try and help. When you try to scan what is the error? Also, what is the Operating System installed on the computer, Windows or Mac?
Is the connection Ethernet or USB to this computer? If you are using a Windows Operating System try running the Print and Scan Dr. This could help identify the root cause of the issue.
Reply back with the results of the Print and Scan Dr please as well as the other questions and I will do my best to help.

  • Laserjet 1536dnf MFP "Update"

I'm getting a suspicious-looking pop-up.  It doesn't use the HP logo, but implies that I need a software update for the only HP equipment I have--the Laserjet 1536dnf MFP.  Last week something like this popped up and I followed along and the malware took over my web browser amonst other changes.   Blue bar says, "HP Update"  the message then reads, "An update is available.  Would you like to download and instal this update now?"  Finally, there are three option buttons: Continue, Cancel, & Settings.  No "X" box to close the window, and it persists at staying on top of other applications on my desltop.  What's the best thing to do?

    Hi there,
HP does indeed have a utility called HP Update.  It automatically notifies you when updates are available for your HP products.   Does what you are seeing looking similar to this?
If you don't want to use the HP Update tool, you can easily turn it off.  Just open HP Update (you should be able to access it by going to your Windows Start button, and then selecting HP Update, or it might be under Start --> All Programs --> HP --> HP Update, or you can just wait for it to pop-up again).
Once HP Update opens,  click on the Settings button (bottom left) and change "Check for software updates on the web" to Never.
And you will no-longer receive these pop-ups/notifications.  Hope that helps!
    Thanks!
    Tara

  • HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP Installation Error

I have an HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP printer which will not install.  I originally had Windows 7 OS and got the HP 1536dnf printer which installed fine.  However, I started getting the upgrade to Windows 8.1 pop-ups, which I avoided specifically.  However, I was typing on day when it poped-up to upgrade and didn't catch it in time and next thing I know we are upgrading to Windows 8.1 OS.  What I didn't notice immediately after the upgrade was that my printer began to have trouble.  So I uninstalled the printer and went to reinstall it from the disc and HP download, but it never re-installed. It always stopped at 99% and then gave a time error, something about to long to execute program timed out.  I went to HP support via chat and wasn't able to get it resovled.  However, I did somemore digging on the internt and found other people were having similar but different issue.  Long story short, the Event viewer stated faulting application is PrintIsolationHost.exe and the faulting module name is hppdcompio.dll.  What is this and is there anyway to get a newer version or replace the old dll with another one of the same vintage?  I would like to get my printer fully installed so I can use all the functions again.  I am currently using a default driver.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

  • Cannot copy or scan from ADF (autofeeder) on LaserJet 1536dnf MFP

I've been a very pleased owner of a LaserJet 1536dnf MFP all-in-one printer, scanner, copier, fax. The device is running the latest firmware, it is connected via a hard-wired ethernet connection, and I use it mainly with my laptop which is connected to the same open network via wi-fi. The laptop is running Windows 7 32-bit with the latest drivers, utilities, and diagnostics tools installed.
The problem I started running into today is two-fold:
The copier no longer produces copies when feeding one or more pages into the ADF. In other words, the pages are pulled through and the display shows the status as "copying" but no copies are produced. Also, there are no errors indicated on the display.
The HP Scan utility no longer completes scans via the ADF for one or more pages. Pages are pulled through the ADF then the HP Scan utility presents a simple "An error occured while scanning" error message. I observed similar behavior when attempting to scan via the native windows applications (photo viewer, windows fax and scan, microsoft office document scanning, etc).
Regular flatbed copying and scanning still works without a hitch for 1 page at a time. I have been using both scenarios above for over a year without any issues. There have been no software installs/updates applied to my laptop in the time these issues surfaced. I have run the print, scan, and network diagnostics utilities from HP and they all show zero problems.
I have not been able to find any relevant info for either of the issues above via HP support or third-party forums. My hunch is that these are somehow related to a device firmware / hardware / configuration issue and am hoping to find some support via this forum. Appreciate your feedback in advance!
    Best,
    Igor

This is the side piece that was lifted. The feed tray was removed and I manually ran one page through with the copy button. Then put the feed tray back and affter that i was able to scan multiple pages with no problems.

  • Hp LaserJet 1536dnf MFP will not copy via auto feeder

The printer will print and scan, and copy from the glass just fine too. The problem is when you want to copy from the auto feeder. You put the paper in and press copy. It feeds it through but nothing prints out.

    Hey Columbus_ISD,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! I see when you attempt a copy from the ADF on your HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP the output is blank, you are able to print copy and scan from the glass with no problems.
I would like you to go ahead and complete the following steps listed below:
    1. Make sure the LJ 1536dnf is plugged directly into a wall outlet, DO NOT use a power bar or surge protector: Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector
    2. Update the LJ's Firmware:

My HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP will not copy or scan but does print.  It does not matter if I use the ADF or the glass.  When copying or scanning I get a completey black page.  The light bar does move from one end of the printer glass to the other.  There are no connectivity issues as the printing function and the e-print function work fine.

    Hi @akb3,
I understand that when you try to scan or copy, you are getting a black page. I can help you with this.
Please keep the scanner lid open and then press the copy button.
Check if the scanner bulb glows.
Check if the scanner moves freely across the glass.
If it does not try connecting the printer directly to the wall jack and try again.

Device Manager Driver: HP LJ M1530 Series Scan ; Driver Date: Nov 16, 2009
HP laserjet 1536dnf MFP keeps printing JZJZL() and different Random Garbled characters, I can only print properly if I switch it on and Turn it on again.

    Hi @Claude-Antoine,
I understand that the printer is printing garbled print and something keeps printing off from the Toolbox. I can help you with this.
Most likely the driver is corrupted and you will have to uninstall and reinstall the printer software.
If you can print the hardware self test page properly, then it would be a software issue.
