HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP Printer Driver fails on install

I have tried installing this as a network printer, and as a local one.  Neither install will do anything but fail.
I don't have a previous issue of HP Universal Driver either, so that can't be it.

Hi @KCinTX ,
I see that you are having issues with the install failing over the network. I will do my best to assist you with this issue.
What is the error message that you are getting?
Remove the HP Universal driver from Devices and Printers and the Print Server Properties.
How to Locate Print Server Properties for Windows 7.
On the Driver tab, highlight and remove the printer.
I have provided a document with some steps to try to see if that will resolve the issue.

  • HP Laserjet 4100n network printer driver fails to install

I am trying to install the printer driver for an HP 4100n laserjet on an XP machine.  I have downloaded the file "hp LaserJet 4100 Printing System (61.3 MB) from the HP web site.  First issue is that upon executing the setup exe file the InstallShield stops at 99%.  I have to end it via Windows Task manager.  Occassionally I can get to 100% but I have no idea why only occassionally.  If I boot into Safe Mode I get to 100% everytime.
Once in Safe Mode the wizard seems to operate properly, finding the printer on the network and returning the correct TCP address.  I get to the end of the wizard and I get a Sever Error message and the wizard terminates.
I have two laptops and one other desktop connected to the 4100n via the network.  I must be doing something wrong and could use some suggestions.
    Thanks

  • HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP printer cancellation of fonts

I have a technical question.  I developed my own word processing and printing programs starting with the original IBM and epson dot matrix printer and then the HP Laserjet printers.  Students a University of Pennsylvania and Princeton used my programs
to write their Ph. D. theses.  Now there are plenty of programs do to this but I have  kept my current.  Everything was fine until the printer listed in the title.  My program loads fonts in the printer.  The font # are 7000,7001,7002,7003,7004.
I choose these numbers so as not to interfere with other fonts.  My program runs in DosBox and sends data to the printer by writing to the file TRASH789.PCL in the directory C:\SPOOL and the program printfile (downloaded from the internet) spools the
file to the printer.  When my program begins it sends the esc sequence that selects the fonts.  Also I set the  line feed to be 1/2 a line feed.  (My programs works like a typewriter and subscripts and superscripts are just a 1/2 space
up or down.)   On all other HP printers for say 20 years everything is fine but with the printer mentioned above my font selection and 1/2 line feed are canceled.  Various sequences of character will cause this to happen.  It is pretty
random.  One sequence I have isolated is below.
                        a3  a3  a3
The a's can be upper or lower case.  There can be other characters between then etc.  But if the first few lines that at printed contain these characters the fonts and 1/2 line spacing are canceled.  If you put a paragraph before the a3,a3,a3
it will not happen.  It the a3's occur at the top of a new page it will happen.
I have tried various things to fix the error like repeatedly telling the printer to select my fonts, or loading an empty rasher of graphics a the top of the page but nothing works.   Fortunately for 95% of what I print it is not a
problem.  I have work around solutions, making a PDF file using GHOSTPCL, or using another program that uses rasher graphics.  (I wrote this some years ago when I bought a DESKJET printer.  Now computers are so fast that the time delay with
the rasher graphics program is hardly  noticeable.
I realize that the number of people with my problems can be counted on one hand so there is no great motivation for fixing this problem but given the other problems with this printer (I have seen mentioned on the web) it seems
to me there may be a connection.  (I only bought this printer, scanner, fax, etc)  because I had a grant that was expiring and I wanted to spend the money.  My guess is that will all the functions of this printer, probably set up by different
groups of people, the printer has glitches.  As someone who has spent years on my own programs I know it can take months to figure them out.  My only hope is that maybe this might help someone.
       Thanks for your attention.

    Hi treborpowers,
According to your description, you developped a program which runs in DosBox. When this program running, it sends request to DosBox, then DosBox sends request to Windows to call  Microsoft font 7000,7001,7002,7003, 7004, then Windows responds
this request, however, the program could not print the font in DosBox correctly. Right?
Since it is difficult to narrow down the issue is cause by Windows, in order to resolve this issue effectively, please get help from the professional forum about the programming language.
    Thanks for your understanding!

  • HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP printer

I  have found a serious bug with the printer listed above.  It has taken me days of work to isolate the error.  Here it is.
I load my  own soft fonts in the printer using the PCL5 language.  These fonts were developed for writing mathematics.
I have used them for over 15 years with at least 4 different HP printers.  When I start up the computer I load
my fonts.  When I print the following file the printer cancels my fonts and line spacing.   Here is the file
        esc = escape = 1B (hex) = char927)
esc(7000X          (set  soft fonts 7000 loaded previously)
esc($l12D           (sets half line spacing  (i.e. each line feed moves the cursor down 1/2 space)
then the text that follows is
    "       a3  a3 a3"
two line feeds  CR LF  CR LF
"This is a test. This is a test."
two line feeds CR LF CR LF
    "This is a test."
esc E to end the file.
Also if the file begins with esc E (printer reset) the problem persists.
The characters "a3 a3 a3" cause the problem.
The character "A3 A3 A3" also cause the problem.
If the characters a3 a3 a3 appear in the first few lines of text the printer cancels the fonts and the half line  feed.
There are other characters that will  cause the problem but I have not isolated them.
This is only a problem with the hp printer listed above as with the hp laserjet 1300 there is no problem.
I know from the internet that this printer has other problems (printing certain PDF files).  I suspect my problem
is related to this problem.  There is obviously a deep bug in the printer.
I know from my own programing that finding the bug as I have done is half the battle of fixing it.
I have done half the work.  Now I hope someone at HP will do the rest.

    Hi there,
I'll be the first to admit that you're way over my head.  And, since this is outside of my area, I have passed this information along to our Laserjet Tech folks.  I appreciate the thought and effort you took in doing this work and sharing it.  I can't make any promises as to what the Laserjet Tech team will do with it, as they are a completely separate area from me - but please do know I have passed it on.
    Thanks!

  • New printer driver failed to install on Windows 7

    Hello everyone,
Yesterday I purchased a wireless printer HP Envy 5530. When I installed the driver on my HP Pavilion mini windows 7(I don't know what the product name is since it is about 3 years old) , it failed. I called the HP printer hotline and spoke with someone in India. He told me there were some errors in my computer and I should pay them $149 to have them fix my computer. I am not sure this is the way that should be, or if there is any other method I can use to solve this problem? Please advise.
    Thanks in advance!

  • HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP Installation Error

I have an HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP printer which will not install.  I originally had Windows 7 OS and got the HP 1536dnf printer which installed fine.  However, I started getting the upgrade to Windows 8.1 pop-ups, which I avoided specifically.  However, I was typing on day when it poped-up to upgrade and didn't catch it in time and next thing I know we are upgrading to Windows 8.1 OS.  What I didn't notice immediately after the upgrade was that my printer began to have trouble.  So I uninstalled the printer and went to reinstall it from the disc and HP download, but it never re-installed. It always stopped at 99% and then gave a time error, something about to long to execute program timed out.  I went to HP support via chat and wasn't able to get it resovled.  However, I did somemore digging on the internt and found other people were having similar but different issue.  Long story short, the Event viewer stated faulting application is PrintIsolationHost.exe and the faulting module name is hppdcompio.dll.  What is this and is there anyway to get a newer version or replace the old dll with another one of the same vintage?  I would like to get my printer fully installed so I can use all the functions again.  I am currently using a default driver.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

  • HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP document feeder stopped working

The document feeder stopped working.  It clicks when trying to feed and comes up with the error Document Feeder Mispick, reload.  I cleaned the feed rollers as per the HP video, no change.  Is this something I can easily fix myself  (I can open screws and lubricate parts if necessary)?  Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

  • HP laserjet 1536dnf MFP keeps Printing

    Hi Admin,
I currently work as an IT Entry Level Support, and I have a problem with HP laserjet 1536dnf MFP  that I cannot give time to figure out why.
    Here's what I have:
    System: WXP Pro v2002 SP2
    Hardware: HP laserjet 1536dnf MFP
Device Manager Driver: HP LJ M1530 Series Scan ; Driver Date: Nov 16, 2009
HP laserjet 1536dnf MFP keeps printing JZJZL() and different Random Garbled characters, I can only print properly if I switch it on and Turn it on again.
One more question: Is there a way to stop whatever is printing from the HP Toolbox.
    Thank you..
    This question was solved.

    Hi @Claude-Antoine,
I understand that the printer is printing garbled print and something keeps printing off from the Toolbox. I can help you with this.
Most likely the driver is corrupted and you will have to uninstall and reinstall the printer software.
If you can print the hardware self test page properly, then it would be a software issue.
    Printing a Configuration Report.
I have provided a document with some steps to try to see if that will resolve the issue.

How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet)

  • Scan driver for HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP

Hi! Could anybody provide a driver for HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP for scanning that it really work?

Hi!  Unfortunately Your advice does not work. I have downloaded the full feature software Your dirrected, however I can not install it. I run the full feature software hp_M1530_MFP_full_Solution_usb_n_w.exe (find enclosed picture 1.jpg, please). It reaches 99 % of installation (2.jpg) after 14 minutes. Further after 3 min. I get an error message (3.jpg) “An install operation took too long to execute. This a fatal error preventing product use. Please restart your computer, and run this installer again”. After restart of computer, I get a message “Installing device driver software” (4.jpg) and “Your device is ready to use” (5.jpg). Despite that, the scanner does not work, and there are some dysfunction’s with the printing. We have two such printers, and both encountering with this problem. Could you help, please?

  • 'unable to send print data' on HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP

    Hi there,
I'm running an iMac with OSX 10.6.8. Via an USB cable I have attached a HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP to the iMac.
I also use this printer to print via wifi (i.e. through the iMac) with my MacBook Pro (with OSX 10.7.3).
Suddenly today the printer stopped working via my MacBook Pro. I get an error message: 'unable to send print data'.
I have checked my antivirus etc., but that does not appear to be the problem. I have also updated the firmware of the printer, without success.
Can somebody help me out? Is the OS difference the problem? But until today that hasn't been a problem.
Thank you very much! Regards, Luc.

    Hi jemenake
I understand you lost connection with the network for the Laserjet 1536 through ethernet connection.
Disconnect the routers power cable, wait 10 seconds, then reconnect the power cable. Wait till it's ready. The router might not be finding the printer on the network.
If this doesn't resolve the issue continue to the next steps.
Print a  configuration report from the  LaserJet 1536dnf.
Press the Setup button, (the one with the wrench on it)
reports, press OK, Config Report, press OK.
Check to see if the ip address is valid.
If you have a valid ip address then delete and add the printer on the mac, the driver might have become corrupted.
    Delete printer on mac.
Click on the Apple, click System & Preferences, then click the Print & Scan icon (on some systems this may be displayed as Print & Fax),highlight your printer name and click the  button on the bottom left corner of the screen.
    Add printer on the mac.
Click on the Apple, click System & Preferences, and then click the Print & Scan icon (on some systems this may be displayed as Print & Fax),click add a printer, then select the printer from the list, make sure the printer listed beside use or print: shows proper printer name and not airprint, (airprint is a preinstalled apple driver with basic funtionality if on 10.8) add it in.
If the ip address is not valid please let me know.

  • Duplex printing on HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP

    Hi,
I have a HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP. Each time I attempt to print a PDF document on my printer through Adobe Reader (duplex, 4 page per sheet, flip-up), the second page of each sheet will be printed as a whole mess of stripes instead of the intended output.
    Please advise.

I have the same problem with a new, firmware updated, HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP. Curiously, two-sided printing works fine with "Paper size: Letter" whereas it fails for "Paper size: A4". For A4 paper size every second page is a mess of stripes.

  • HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP will not copy or scan but does print

My HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP will not copy or scan but does print.  It does not matter if I use the ADF or the glass.  When copying or scanning I get a completey black page.  The light bar does move from one end of the printer glass to the other.  There are no connectivity issues as the printing function and the e-print function work fine.
    Thank you for your help

    Hi @akb3,
I understand that when you try to scan or copy, you are getting a black page. I can help you with this.
Please keep the scanner lid open and then press the copy button.
Check if the scanner bulb glows.
Check if the scanner moves freely across the glass.
If it does not try connecting the printer directly to the wall jack and try again.
Update the printer's firmware if the bulb glows and scanner moves freely. HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf Multifunction Printer Drivers.

Just installed a HP Color Laserjet CM2320nf MFP printer, at the same time I upgraded to Lion. It prints fine, but I cannot use the scan functions.  I downloaded the most recent driver! Any help would be appreciated.

HP says that the drivers for your all in one print/scanner are downloadable from apple. For the scanner to use preview. image capture or the scan icon from the print driver queue.  I don't know how old your HP is, but I know that the newer Os from apple don't support a lot of older printers. You might be able find a third party driver that could work.
