HP LaserJet 2055dn in Terminal 2003

Hello,
I need help with printer HP LaserJet 2055dn. I Installed this printer on Terminal Server 2003 with standard TCP/IP port. When user printing this printer is Administrator (user in group Administrator) printing is OK.
When user is not admin, printer is printing many many pages with nonsence. I have to stop printing and restart printer.
All admins are OK, other users cannot print.
I modified permissions and give common users full access permission with no effect. User must be admin to print with sucess.
Thank you very much for any help.

Juergen,
I have the same problem with a Laserjet 2605. Duplex printing just does not work in Windows 7.
Now November 2010 and still no solution.

  • HP Laserjet 2605dn / HP Laserjet 2055dn on Windows 7: sorted printing fails

    Hi,
I'm using the printers HP Laserjet 2605 dn and HP Laserjet 2055 dn on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, german edition.
I've installed the newest printer driver HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PostScript x64 Version 5.0.3.
On both printers I'm not able to do a sorted printing. This must be a driver problem because before the new install of Windows 7 I used a Vista 64bit system and sorted printing worked on both printers.
Is there anything I can change in Configuration (printing processor in driver or anything other) to get sorted printing working?
I have installed the latest firmware on the printers.
I've also tested the printing with the HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL5 x64 and the HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 x64 . Both these drivers even have more problems on windows 7: resolution over 600dpi is not available, sorted printing doesn't work, printing of more than one copy doesn't work.
    Thanks for any help.
    Greetings

  • How can I tell when the IP address was changed on my HP Laserjet 2055dn printer?

I have an HP2055DN printer that someone changed the IP address on. It is connected to a print server ( Windows 2003 server ) on our network.  I have not found an entry in the logs of the printer or in the event logs on the Print Server.  Does anyone know where to look or what event id or message I would be looking for?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Since this is a 2 line display model, you should be able to go to the control panel of the printer and print a config page.
Control panel - right arrow - reports - config page.
The IP address should be in the left hand column on the config page.

  • Why does my Laserjet 2055dn only print the first page of a print job?

In our domain, we have a number of 2055dn printers that act up on intermittent bases.  At times, they function properly, but other times they will only print the first page of a print job.  Our domain has only HP printers so there should be no conflict with drivers.  My solution has been to delete the printer on the local machine and then to reinstall them after reboot.  That has helped at times.  In other cases, I have installed the printer only on the local machine and not the copy on my printer server.
I have updated the print drivers, on the server and on the local machines.  I have changed drivers to PS, to PCL 5 and to PCL 6.
This only seems to occur in one of my three buildings that house this model of printer.  I have even done firmware upgrades on the printers.
I appreciate any help that I can get on this continuing problem.  Thanks much.

    Then use the latest solution!
    Which doesn't need specifying either.

  • HP LaserJet 2055dn

Hello, i need to Know if this printer, prints in Mirror Image Mode.
    HP 2055DN .
    Thanks.

I am also not sure how to lock the panel on this printer.  The web interface doesn't have an option that I can find to disable the control panel.  I have searched HP support with no luck. I tried following the instructions to change the security via webadmin with no luck also.  I actually would prefer to use the web interace via printer IP.  Thanks.

  • Accessing Exchange 2013 Mailboxes from Terminal Server hosted on Server 2003 Std - Cert Issues

We are in the midst of deploying an Exchange 2013 SP1 CU5 environment and have run into some issues.  Currently there is a good coexistence between a single Exchange 2007 server and the 5 2013 servers.  Mail is flowing through 2013 and then being
    relayed to 2007 when necessary.
We have a number of Server 2003 Terminal Servers.  On two separate machines, both running the lastest rollups of Outlook 2010, any user with a 2013 mailbox receives a password prompt after launching Outlook.  It is trying to connect to one of the
two CAS, fills in the user's account, and will not accept any password.  In addition, a window pops up behind stating "There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate.  the name on the security certificate is invalid or does
not match the name of the target site mail.pvschemicals.com.  Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server.  (error code 0)."  2007 mailboxes are not affected.
We have checked pretty much everything that we can think of.  Virtual Directories are good, certificate is good, etc.  The strange thing is that only happens on 2003 TS machines, so I have to think that it's related.  Our 2008 TS' are just
    find.
We have applied the 2003 SHA2 certificate hotfix.

    Hi,
According to your description, the configurations of Outlook Anywhere are proper. And based on my research, the issue can be related to the version of the terminal server 2003. Thus, please check if your terminal 2003 server is 2003 R2 SP2 or later.

  • How can i change HP Laserjet 2055 serial number

    Hy,
I have a HP Laserjet 2055dn printer and the service changed my formatter and my DC controller. Now the serial number on Status page and in HPWebJetadmin is  XXXXXXX. How can I input the original serial number to this printer?
    Thanks

    Hi zoltank67
The serial number for the product is not a customer settable setting.  In order to get the serial number set, a service person would need to program the number for you.
I would recommend you call HP Support and let them know that after server the serial number is no longer programmed.

  • 2055dn fuser strike

We have at the office 2 new Laserjet 2055dn. I was going to start using one of them.
The installation was not quite esay. For a while i used it. Due high memory comsuption  I "downgraded" to 1022, which is more faster (sorry HP), and has just the feature i needed: printing !
Suddenly it stopped working. Anyway, back to 2055dn
Full solution package downloaded from the web and no trouble with the installation.
    But...
it will not work. Everytime "fuser error, turn off and on"
I read other articles in the net. No usefull for me.
Than i tried also a "brandnew" geniune "fuser" . Yes i do turn off and on, yes i do try to see which parts inside the "printer" could cause the problem.
    No way out.
I mean i want just print. For this reason we bought those printers.
    What's the problem?
    Best regards
Using Windows XP Pro. As of 17.12.2009 the newest version of the "full solution package" downloaded.
Computer is DC7700 from HP Compaq CPU 3.4 GHz Ram 1 GB

  • 49 err 46c081a

Bought a new PH Envy PC Windows 8.1. We have an hp laserjet 2055dn printer.
    worked fine with windows 7.
with windows 8.1 i'm getting 46 Err 4C081A..turn off and then on, in the printer panel.  The print job is stuck in the prinst queue.
reinstalled the printer driver. using now HP LaserJet UPD PLC6 USB insatalled
replaced winprint.dll version 6.39600.16384 with an older version 4.0. That partually fixed the problem.
HP Print & Scan Doctor doesn't see any problem, but cannot Test Print.

The printer is likely a Laserjet.
If the error only happens when plugging in the ethernet cable, try a different cable.
If the problem still occurs, try a different network port to connect to the network.
Finally, check and reseat the jetdirect card (if applicable).
Edit: Take a look at this thread on the business forums - http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?admit=109447626+1305228758703+28353475&... - as someone had a similar issue, and a different driver resolved the problem. Their case was different in that it came up regardless, whereas your error comes up whenever ethernet is plugged in - so I would still recommend doing the ethernet troubleshooting above before switching drivers.
Also, check HP.com for and firmware updates for the product.
    Hope this helps

  • Bonjour saves the day

Please consider this an experience worth relating.
    First the hardware:
Dell Inspiron  N5110, 6 Gig memory
HP laserjet 1300 printer circa 2003
    First generation Airport extreme
    Intel core i5
    Next the software:
    Microsoft Windows 7, -64 bit
    Airport 5.7
    History:
For the past 7 years I have had a home network consisting of an AirPort router, 2 PC  and a MAC all of which worked great! Both the PCs (Windows XP) and a MAC OS X could get to the Internet and print wirelessly. On July 18, 2011 I received a new PC (described above) and the fun started.
    Problem:
Several hardware defects came with the PC from Dell. Several were fixed while others were not or returned. The greatest problem was that the laserjet 1300 printer could not be installed to operate through the wireless system. Windows 7 will autoconfigure it as a wired printer to the PC but not wirelessly to the network.
    Hopeless attempts at solutions:
Every day from July 18 until August 19, 2011 I spent hours on the standard fixes. HP had a dedicated laserjet 1300 driver which I tried to assign to many different ports to no avail. July 11 they introduced a Windows 7 64 bit Universal print driver which I could not install properly. I even paid 2 local companies to give it a try for $160 without luck. Dell put me on a software contractor who charged me $240.00 with the guarantee they would fix it. For several hours I watched them try to remotely configure the PC to no avail. They did the same things I was doing with far too many wasted steps. They got tired of listening to me tell them what I had already done and what they were not doing properly so they hung up but kept working remotely. As one can imagine, I have had numerous phone conversations with Dell, Microsoft and HP  technicians. Dell and Microsoft wanted to charge $$$ to work on a 3 rd party printer.  HP would not speak with me because, they "do not support old (7 years) printers".  On August 19 I was about  to purchase a new printer when I had a rare flash of imagination . I had had word-of-mouth communication about Apple's "Bonjour for Windows".
So, here is what happened to remedy the situation:
I went to Apple.com and searched for Bonjour for Windows. The downloaded package installs the Bonjour Printer Wizard in "\Program Files\Bonjour Print Services" and creates a shortcut on the Desktop. The program looks for your printer, identifies it and then asks you to press the "Finish" button. Once you do so, the window disappears and you feel as if you have accomplished nothing. As far as I can tell, I could not find any documentation to help me get my HP printer discovered on the wireless network.  I tried 10 times and then went back to Window's " Devices and Printers" site. I found a new standard TPC/IP port for the correct printer and ten copies of  the correct driver . After I reduced the number of copies to one, I tried to print from the Laserjet 1300 with success.
If you are having the same problems that I have had for a solid month go to http://support.apple.com/kb/DL999, download the software and have at it.

Bonjour did not solve my problem but led me to the solution!
After following several links from Bonjour, I was instructed to check my "server".  Now there are several/many "servers" so by elimination, I got down to the Airport "server" which in my case is an eMac connected to a DSL via a Linksys Router.  I first rebooted my "Print Server", no change: then my "Airport (eMac) Server", no change; then my Linksys Router ("Wireless Server") !!!!!  Viola,  Soooooo those of you who are having trouble getting your Mac to print, follow every highway ... until you find your (solution)
Thank you " marcfromtallahassee  " for sharing your solution to a problem, it wasn't mine but it led me to my solution.
Can't give you any points because you didn't pose your statement as a question.  Strange, but them's the rules.       ........goldie

  • DLU ignored

    Hi,
We're using NW 6sp5, ZFD6.5sp2 & nwclient 4.91sp3. We have a Windows Terminal 2003 server setup, Novell Client, Zen Agent and have created a User Policy to run DLU for our users.
DLU is being ignored in this policy for the server but all other items in that policy are accepted.
No additional copies of zenpol32.dll exist on the HDD. c:\program files\novell\zenworks is in the path. The registry is set to the correct tree and DLUAllowed is on. I have enabled debug and here is a copy of what is returned.
Can anyone see why DLU is not run and how I can fix this?
    Cheers,
    Dale.

    Gaby,
This is a stock standard Windows 2003 Server setup purely for Terminal Services use. I have not changed any of the password restrictions on that server and checking thru them now I cannot see anything that would affect DLU currently.
I was hoping someone could interpret the log I attached and tell me where it is failing. I am stumped.
    Cheers,
    Dale.

Do you have set password restriction policies set on the Terminal Server?
Perhaps these settings prevent creating users with the dlu policy.

  • SAP GUI Memory issues on Windows Terminal Server 2003!!

    Hi All
We are currently experiencing serious issues with our terminal servers and SAP GUI. It appears that SAP GUI is consuming a large amount of memory inorder to run, which in term is causing our terminal servers to page more.
I am not sure where to start with this issue so any help would be great!
    Thanks
    Phil
Loads of points if someone helps me solve this!!!

Citrix won´t help much, it´s "just" a different protocol between the client and the server, Citrix itself will use even more memory.
Why are you sure, that the reason for this is the SAPGUI and not any other Office program?
    Let´s calculate:
I´m writing this message on a TS too. My Outlook (2003) consumes ~ 32 MB memory (incl. virtual), I have 4 SAPGUI windows open which consume 64 MB and some telnet sessions (no Word, Excel etc.)
Let say roughly 128 MB all in all.
If you have 2000 users with 20 servers, means, 100 users on one server, that would be 12,8 GB memory - not caclulated other services running on that box (printserver etc.) including the operating system itself.
If your users have Internet Explorer (or other browsers) open too, you will need to add that amount too. 128 MB per user is the minimum.
If users use BEx (or other .NET based BI developer tools), that amount will doubled (at least).
SAP recommends a PC with at least 256 MB memory to run a SAPGUI with acceptable performance, do you have that much per users? How big are your single servers?

  • Printing to a Deskjet 1000 from a terminal services session (2003) on my XP laptop.

The printer is a CH340-64001 and it works fine on an XP laptop.  When an attempt is made to use it during a terminal services session it fails because Server 2003 does not have the drivers for the printer.
When I try to run the installation from the CD I get a message that the operating system is not compatible.
Is there any way to install the XP drivers to Server 2003 or does the printer need to be replaced with another model?

There isn't a way, that I know of, to get the printer's XP drivers to work with Server 2008. However, there is an alternate driver that you can try using. It's the Deskjet 990c driver. It's a generic inkjet driver that works with most inkjet printers. It should work with the printer you're using. That's really the only thing I can think of that might work.

    Hi,
I have a client with  HP LaserJet 4350dtnsl network attached and accessed from a Windows 7 x64. They RDP to a server 2003 server via VPN and the printer will not push to the remote session. They also have a network Colour 3600 which works fine.
I am using the Windows 7 driver installed via update, PCL5 but cannot find a 2003 PCL5 driver, only PCL5e.
If anyone has seen or can help your assistance would be appreciated.

    View Solution.

PCL5 is a rather loose term; for at least the last decade, drivers for new PCL5 printers have been one or the other of:
    PCL5e - PCL5 enhanced for monochrome printers.
    PCL5c - PCL5 enhanced for colour printers.
Even those terms are not precise, since the set of PCL escape sequences supported by one PCL5e printer may not be exactly the same as those supported by a different model, especially if those models are from different ranges / generations.
