HP Laserjet 2500L

I have upgraded our systems to Windows-7 64bit and installed the Windows-7 64 bit drivers.  The printer will print but only in Black and White.  I do not see any option to set up color on the properties. The current properties shows black and white only.  The driver that loaded was a PCL5 driver.  I also deleted the downloaded driver and used the Windows-7 add printer as you suggest and get the same results.
Where are the color options for this printer in Windows-7

Hi Goktad
Sorry to learn that you are having these issues.
Your LaserJet 2500l  is a commercial product. I suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support for a better chance at finding a prompt solution.
You may find the commercial Laserjet board here.

After experimenting much more extensively, I've found the problem goes away when I've properly chosen the driver for the printer. Somehow it had lost the specific printer, and only knew it was a postscript printer but not which one. With that now corrected, it seems to print fine.
Thanks for your quick reply and your prodding to do more testing.

  • Can't print on hp colour laserjet 2500l after installing latest OSX 10.6.5

I installed the latest OSX update 10.6.5on Nov 11th and then the update combined on Nov 12th - after both these were installed I am still getting the message "waiting for printer to become available" when trying to print. I can print using and older macbook which doesn't have these updates!
    Help!

Having a similar problem with my HP LaserJet 3030. Installed 10.6.5 on Nov 13th and printing stopped working. I've tried: 1) Reverting to 10.6.4 from timemachine backup.; Used Onxy to fix permissions; Reinstalling SL Printer Drivers; Installing HPPrinterDrivers2.5.2; and, bypassing my timecapsule for a direct USB connection.
Nothing has worked. At first the printer was listed as 'offline', now the computer simply is 'Looking for printer...'
I'm at a loss. 10.6.5 was supposed to improve printer reliability and instead I've spent 24 hours trying to undo this 'fix'.
Any new suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

  • Color Laserjet 2500L driver problem

I've tried to install my printer on a new machine ... having lost my original CD! I've tried downloading new drivers from the HP site, but they won't print at all.  Windows downloaded PLC 5 driver, but the machine will only print in grayscale. On the "Properties" menu it says "No" to colour. Where am I going wrong?

Need a little more information here. Operating system, what driver did you download, and anything else you think is pertinent. Thanks.

  • Cannot print since HP Printer Software Update 2.5.2

The first document I tried to print after updating the printer software failed to print - it shows up in the print queue, but it stops there. I have an HP Color LaserJet 2500L attached to the computer with a USB cable. I have tried a different cable, and I have tried printing from a different Mac -- same problem. I have re-downloaded the update, applied it, repaired permissions, and still it will not print. The printer will print fine when connected to a Windows XP PC. Is there any way I can get the old drivers (v 2.4.1?) and see if they work? Everything worked fine before this update.

I think we have a workaround, though the problem with 2.5.2 still persists. I followed the steps John recommended:
In Terminal, type the "ls -l /System/Library/Extensions" command, then delete all of the items whose name starts with "hp_" in that directory.
    cd System/Library/Extensions
    rm hp_
The last command can be done for all the hp_ files, and you may have to use sudo if the machine says you need to be an administrator. If you're more comfortable in the Finder, you can just go to System/Library/Extensions and delete the hp_ files manually.
Disconnect the printer, delete the printer if it's still there, reconnect the printer, and run Software Update to install the driver again.
I noticed that after I deleted the hp extensions, emptied the trash, disconnected and turned the printer off, turned it back on and reconnected it, and then rebooted the computer, that the printer showed up on the printer list without applying the 2.5.2 update. When I tried printing a document, it worked! Then I did the software update to install 2.5.2, and could no longer print! There is something definitely wrong with the 2.5.2 package. So I went through the whole process again, and as long as I do not install the 2.5.2 update, I can print just fine.
I hope that between HP and Apple, there is a corrected software update so that we do not have to continually ignore this one. I hope others out there who are having this problem try these steps and post how they worked for you. Thanks to John Blanchard for heading us in the right direction!

  • HP LaserJet Enterprise 600 M602 driver issue

    Hello,
I've got issue with 600-series printers. We use the latest UPD drivrer ver. 61.175.1.18849 and print from XenApp 6.5. The error occurs every time when users try to print jpg files from XenApp session. It only happens with 600 series printers and UPD.
Also I've tried to assign native 600-series driver ver. 6.3.9600.16384 and it works good. But with that driver system says that it's color printer and it brokes our printing reports. These reports are very important for us. So we can't use printer and that driver as well.
Printer installed on Windows Server 2012 R2. All clients are Windows 7 x64. XenApp Servers are Server 2008R2.
Is it possible to get fixed UPD driver or correct native driver for Server 2012 R2?
    Regards,
    Anatoly

There is no change to this problem after 6 months since the last post. Put simply, and as stated in the previous posts, there is no way to scan a document and receive the image on your PC. If you are working with graphics for any length of time or want to create an image for inclusion as an image in a document or web page using this piece of equipment will not allow you to do so.
Great shame as every other function works well - it cannot be beyond the wit of HP to include a Windows application that enables you to scan an image, receive it in the software you are using at the time (e.g. Outlook, Word, Photoshop...) and use it in your work.
HP Printers several years older than this £1000+ Enterprise printer were able to do this simple job and have done so for a great many years. Just being able to use Microsoft's Fax and Scan would be start.

  • HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 color M551dn - Optional USB Device port

Hi, I'm hoping to buy the optional wireless print server (HP Jetdirect 2700w USB Wireless Print Server J8026A). There is one problem though, the optional USB device port seems to not exist on my printer. I only notice that the USB logo is present where the port is supposed to be. The plastic in the area is squared off as though it is some sort of break away tab and the port is underneath maybe.
There is no reference to this in the manual anywhere and I am really unsure how to proceed. I don't want to damage anything.
If someone experienced with this model (preferably an HP Employee) can confirm the availability of the port and tell me how to access it (Is it a break away tab?). Part of the reason why I bought this printer is the optional Wireless N print server.
    Thank You in advance.

Thank You for your reply. The port you are talking about is the front panel port for walk-up usb printing and firmware upgrades. This port is indeed available on the higher end LaserJet 500 (NON-MFP, printer only edition) as I just used it to upgrade the firmware. The port I am talking about is the one on the left side in the ports section which you use to plug in the optional print server (not the computer I/O port).
This is shown in the official manual and the spec sheet so I'm 85% sure the port is there, hp can't advertise and mention something that is not available as this would be a big problem and make the 2700w print server incompatible when it clearly states that it is. I just need someone to confirm the availability and clear my confusion (either from HP, or another owner who bought the wireless print server 2700w).

  • HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 Color MFP M575 - Can't scan from Windows

We recently purchased and installed an HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 Color MFP M575 to be used as a networked all-in-one solution for a number of offices. I have been able to get it set up on our network and have installed the appropriate drivers on the requested Windows 7 x64 machines, and network printing works perfectly. However, it seems that despite the fancy scanning features available from the all-in-one itself (scan to email, scan to a network folder, etc.), I can't find any way to do an old-fashioned scan from Windows.
I have installed the full software solution available on the driver download page for the device, and while Windows lists the device as a "Multi Function Printer; Scanner" it does not recognize it as an actual scanner. The built-in Windows Fax and Scan simply reports that no scanners are installed. The software installation did not include the HP Solution Center (which I am used to seeing from my experience with various other HP all-in-one devices) or any equivalent for direct scanning. The driver download page for the device does not include any separate scanning drivers, so I can't be certain if they were included with the full installation or exist at all. Some of our staff also use Adobe Acrobat to scan, and even that fails to recognize the MFP as a scanner.
We'll eventually be setting up the device to scan directly to a network folder, but we need a fallback while IT takes their time getting it set up; I can't imagine that the simplest option is not available at all. I must be missing something here, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: To add, I also ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor. Interestingly, it reports the device as a printer and only offers to "Fix Printing" without any sort of resolution for my scanning problem.

  • HP AiO remote doesn't recognize 3rd party toner as compatible in LaserJet M1217nfw MFP

    Hi,
I have a HP Envy 17 running Windows 8.1, a MacBook Air, an iPhone and a HP LaserJet M1217nfw MFP.  I recently replaced the toner with a 3rd party replacement cartridge and while the printer does give me a "supply memory error" I am still able to print just fine from the Mac and my phone.  I am unable however to print from my Envy.  The HP All-in-One Remote app in Windows 8 gives me an "incompatible cartridge" message and says there are no solutions availble.  Is there a work-around to this?
I am not very good at Windows 8....
    Thanks

    Hi Thaddeus,
Although the printer may resoponse to some commands, a supply memory error is an error state about the used cartridge.
Due the error message on the screen the HP AIO Remote recognize the cartridge as incompatible, that cannot be bypassed
with any settings, resolving the issue which cause the error message is the only key to resolve a such.
If the HP AiO Remote fails to print in such condition the only solution is to fully resolve the condition by following the steps listed in my previous post.

  • AiO Remote and LaserJet

I have a HP LaserJet CM1415fnw and the firmware is 20131028.
It prints perfectly from my PC Windows 7(64bit) and quarter size from my Ipad iOS 7.0.6.
If I use HP ePrint it prints but I get a dirty shadow repeat 56mm down the page for the bottom half of the sheet which is unacceptable.
I would like to use AiO Remote but the program cannot find my printer which is connected to my router by an ethernet cable any ideas would be appreciated?

    Hello kingfishers,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that you are trying to print to your Laserjet CM1415fnw printer. You indicated you have a couple of different issues; printing from iPad is smaller than from your computer, you have print quality issues when using ePrint, and the AiO app doesn't find your printer.
To better assist you, would you please provide some further information:
    1)       When trying to print from your iPad are you using Apple's AirPrint feature or the HP ePrint app? Are you trying to print a photo from your iPad when your documents seems to shrink to roughly 1/4 the size?
    2)      Are you getting the "dirty shadow" when you print the same document from your computer? Are you emailing the document to the printer or are you using the HP ePrint app?
    3)      You indicated that your printer is plugged into your router using an ethernet cable which would be why the HP All-in-One Printer Remote app cannot find it.  I've included The Printer Does Not Support Ethernet (Wired) and Wireless Network Connections at the Same Time for your reference.

  • HP LaserJet Pro M177fw and AIO Remote App

Will HP AIO App remote supports HP LaserJet Pro M177fw Multifunction Printer later.
Or is there any other way to control the printer to scan without going back to my computer?

    @Ashley8
With regards to the no support of the AiO remote app and the m177, this is only on the iOS and android app.
You will need to use your desktop/computer as your go to scan for the m177.

  • Print to LaserJet 3150 Shared by Windows XP Pro

I have an older, but servicable LaserJet 3150 hooked to my Windows XP Pro desktop at work.
A long time ago, I set it up to share with OS X by creatign a virtual printer using GhostScript and some other queuing utility - this made is look like a PostScript Laserwriter. Worked great!
Alas, as common with Windows, the system decided to blow iteself away, and had to be rebuilt. I did not keep recipee, and cannot find it online.
Has anybody seen it? The problem is that the LaserJet 3150 is a impure PCL printer using its own format.
