I have a LaserJet 2605dn. I recently replaced all 3 colour toner cartridges (with the exception of the black). When I printed a photo from PS CS3 the colours-especially the skin tones were off.
Before I replaced the cartridges the colour printing was fine.
What has changed the output of the 2605dn since I replaced the cartridges?

I have both an HP 1300 b/w and HP 2605dn color laser printer. In the last week both printers have changed the output density. The 1300 print is coming out lighter than it used to, and the 2605 is not print the color tones as it used to. What used to be orange is now only yellow.Other colors are not right either. I can compare them to output a few weeks earlier, and they are much lighter and different color tones.
Both printers have plenty of toner in all cartridges. The toner cartridge on the 1300 was changed 2 weeks ago. The toner on the 2605 is 3/4 full.
This was like something got into the printer drivers and reset some parameters on both printers at once.
Can anyone help me here to check this out and how to correct the problem?

I ned help. Color Laserjet 2605 dn. When I print a test sheet colors look normal but every time I print a file from any DTP prog. the colors are very washed out.
I seem to have no software control of how the printer prints, so how can I get good solid colors to print accurately.
I set up using correct ink and paper etc.

Since upgrading to OSX 10.6.6 HP Colour Laserjet 2605 no longer connects?

I have just upgraded to Snow Leopard OS 10.6.6. My HP Colour Laserjet 2605 no longer works. If I try to print, it says it is offline. I have tried removing and re-adding it. It no longer shows up in Bonjour - or rather it occasionally does, for about 1 second, before disappearing. I have repeatedly reset the printing system, rebooted and re-added. No joy. I have tried adding the printer via the IP address. It never finds it. This is a printer that worked perfectly just before I upgraded from 10.5, and continues to work perfectly via my Windows PC on the same network. I notice there are several similar problems on this forum with 10.6.6 and HP printers - can anyone help?

How do I install my color laserjet 2605 dn on my windows vista laptop.

I have been using an HP Color Laserjet 2605 dn on my aging Windows XP computer. Now that the system is becoming unreliable, I purchased a new HP desktop with Windows 7. My printer is not compatible with Win7, so my other option is to use it on my HP laptop with Win Vista.
According to what I have read, this printer should be Windows Vista compatible. However, when I try to install the software, I keep getting an error message that I need to be logged on as administrator or I can choose "run as administrator" or something like that. I followed all those steps, and cannot get past this error message. And, I AM logged on as administrator.
What can I do to get this software installed and use the printer again? It prints wonderfully, does everything I want, including automatic duplex printing.

Laserjet 2605 red prints faintly

My Colour LaserJet 2605 is not printing red colours correctly despite replacing the toner with a new (genuine HP) cartridge.
Red comes out faint or orange and its colour varies across the page - darker in center.
Have tried cleaning and calibrating - no change.

check to see if it has something like drums or fusers
that may be a problem
toner is nothing more than a powder to be heated and
and the drum and or fuser heats it on the paper to produce
what ever you what it to be on your paper
Please provide Kudos to whom has provided answers or
good points or advice..

Problem printing from a Galaxy Tab S to hp Laserjet 2605 on a wired network

I have downloaded the eprint application to my new Galaxy Tab S. I registered with h_p. I pulled up a .pdf file from my documents. I sent it to the printer. All seems to be working well except for the fact that the documents are printed as solid black pages. I've tried to several times with the same result. In the print dialog box the printers name comes up with it's appropriate i_p address and all seems to be working well until the paper comes out of the printer. Can anyone help me?

I afraid the HP Laserjet 2605 is not supported by the HP ePrint app or any other mobile printing solution for Android.
Only the models listed below are supported for printing from Android and expected to work correctly:

Problems printing transperencies from acrobat pro 9 using HP laserjet 2605 dn

I have been "printing" PDF's from an indesign CS4 document to acrobat 9 pro (both are part of cs4 master collection). The in-design documents include photoshop cs4 documents with transparencies which have been created by processing images using a third party filter (on-one mask pro 4.1). The PDF's look fine (they maintain the transparencies as they should), but when I try printing to my HP color laserjet I have problems -- a background shows up which is the shape of the photoshop document (eg, it loses its transparency).
is there any fix or workaround for this. In have played with lots of options for both the indesign document, the PDF document, and the HP laserjet printer, but nothing seems to help. the PDF always looks fine and the printed document always loses the transparency.
Any thoughts would be apprecaited.

"IF" You are using, OSX.4.11 Try locating , downloading, installing AppleJack (there currently isn't a version for Leopard or Snow Leopard). The to Run Restart holding down the Command-S keys. This put you in Single User Mode (Raw UNIX).
when a screen full of print scrolls through and your left with a Blink Cursor, Type applejack.
simply follow directions. go by the numbers follow them in order they are given.
Now items 3&4 you have to do once for your system, and once for each User Account (name you gave computer when setting up example you gave name as John Smith name for user account would be johnsmith).
Once completed (1-5) hit return then choose Reboot or Shutdown.
In your case choose r and then hit return.
when it restarts wait, a whole bunch of cache files were dumped. You may even see the "dreaded "Blue screen for a little bit, and bits and piece of the desktop will appear until completely rebuilt.
After rebuilt Try printing.
If that doesn't work. Report back and maybe someone else can come up with an idea.

Hp laserjet 2605 stop working

Hi all... After one of latest upgrades (I don't know wich exactly), I'm unable to print with my HP Color Laserjet 2605dn, as a network printer. I tryed to reinstall hplip but nothing. I tryed to remove the printer (I use only cups web interface to admin printers) and add a new printer. All fine, but when I clic on printer model and "add printer" button receive this error: "Unable to copy PPD file!", and printer don't add.
Edit: Tryed with success to add printer with a separate ppd file (extracting from cups folder), but I don't be able to set options of the printer; the cups error is: "Error: Missing value string"

Hplip version 2.8.2-2

Color laserjet 2605 DN

I am running Windows 7 (64) and have a CLJ 2605 DN printer. I can not get the printer to print in color. I have tried via usb and over the network. I tried the HP universal printing PCL 5 driver from the website, with no luck. I also allowed windows to find and install its own version via PNP, same results, it uses the same driver.
When i go into the printer preferences the print feature, print all text as black is disabled.
please help.

I have an HP LaserJet 6MP printer connected to an HP JetDirect 300X print server - all of which I assume is using AppleTalk for printing - on my network at home. The printer works great from the Mac PowerBook and desktop systems.
I'm interested in a Color LaserJet 2605dn because I want to be able to print in color and also double sided.
My wife, due to impositions of external forces, is stuck on a Windows box (poor thing, it's really a come down from her previous 12" PowerBook).
So, on to my questions:
1) I can't seem to get the Windows machine to see the JetDirect box or the LJ6MP - I assume, at least in part, because it's running AppleTalk. Any ideas?
2) If I go out and plunk down the currency for the LJ2605dn, will it be a simple plug and play install? Just plug it in to my Ethernet switch and both the Mac and the Windows machines will see it? If not, what can I expect?
2a) Do I use static or dynamic IP addressing for the LJ2605dn?
3) Is anyone doing anything like this now? Does it work? Was a nightmare to configure?

For the Jetdirect -
Appletalk doesn't interfere with printing via TCP/IP. You need to set the IP address of the Jetdirect (it may already have one by DHCP, but you should set it statically instead). The easiest way to do that is using the Web Jetadmin download from HP. Then Add the printer as a network printer, check the raw button in settings (equals HP Jetdirect protocol on OS X).

HP Laserjet 2605 dn

I have an HP 2605 dn cabled to my wireless router as well as an older HP desktop pc running Windows XP. Printer works fine from the old XP pc. I also have an HP laptop connected wirelessly, with the 2605 dn installed as the default printer. Unfortunately, no matter what I print and from whatever application on my laptop, an infinite number of copies always prints even the number of copies is set to 1. I have the Universal Print driver from HP installed on the laptop. Any suggestions?

Sure, go to Printer Properties\Ports and uncheck "Enable Bidirectional support".

I installed the HP LaserJet 3015 on a running OS X 10.5 (before the fax-printer was connected to as PC), all print job are always stopped and also the print queue itself. Both installing from the HP installer software and via adding a printer in the System preferences give the same (non)result. The fax-printer is recognized on the Mac via USB, but there does note seem to be any other communication in none of both directions. It seems HP is promising a compatible software for the end of the year, but they pretend the printing (and faxing?) functions should work fine (see the pretty pdf-brochure). Can I hope that coming software will provide better functions (especially a correct log) than the basic Mac internal modem log? Thank you for any help on faxing on Mac OS X.

HP Color LaserJet 1600 Printer

I really love my HP Color LaserJet 1600 printer but haven't been able to successfully install it in my brand new MacBook Air 1.7 despite several attempts.
I have downloaded the correct Firmware Upgrade 20120928 v2.4 from HP Drivers web page. Unlocked RFU to ON position and installed the firmware. Added HP Color LaserJet 1600 Printer via USB, as required and my MacBook correctly identifies it as such. Though the driver I have chosen is HP Color LaserJet 2605 since the one for 1600 is not available in the database. The printer responds positively during the upgrade but later does not print. I can see the print command being transmitted to the printer but it stays dead.
Please help and let me know stepwise how to do it correctly.

HP Color LaserJet 2605dn

Ever since installing the printer driver update today, I have been unable to print anything. When I go to print something, the printer queue comes up and shows the document to be printed with the following message underneath "Finally, send the print file..." I have taken the steps to reset the printing system, deleting the printer and adding it back, deleting .plist files related to the printer, etc., etc.
In the process of adding the printer, when I select Print Using: "AutoSelect" the computer sits there for a while like it is trying to read the drivers and displays this message: "no matching architecture in universal wrapper" If I manually select the printing software, it lists two drivers - when I select the first one, and click to "add", I get the same message "no matching architecture in universal wrapper" and have to manually configure the installable options. When I select the second driver, I get the message that "Some of the software for the printer is missing. You may not be able to print to 'HP Color LaserJet 2605.' Please reinstall the printer's software."
I've done all I know to do and have been able to find on the forums. Does anyone have any clue what the problem is or if there is a workaround?

So here is a new development...
After uninstalling everything I could find related to this printer and trying everything new, I decided to try and re-load the software from the disc that came with the computer. I was able to go into the HP EWS Configuration and look at the settings of my printer (viewed through a browser - Safari).
From within that browser, when I clicked on the option to Print Info Pages and then clicked on "Print" for Print Supplies Page, it worked. The printer printed the page and any of the "Info Pages" I can access from that configuration application (via Safari).
Why will it print something through that and not from any other program (including just trying to print a web page in Safari)??
Any ideas?!

I'm using the printers HP Laserjet 2605 dn and HP Laserjet 2055 dn on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, german edition.
I've installed the newest printer driver HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PostScript x64 Version 5.0.3.
On both printers I'm not able to do a sorted printing. This must be a driver problem because before the new install of Windows 7 I used a Vista 64bit system and sorted printing worked on both printers.
Is there anything I can change in Configuration (printing processor in driver or anything other) to get sorted printing working?
I have installed the latest firmware on the printers.
I've also tested the printing with the HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL5 x64 and the HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 x64 . Both these drivers even have more problems on windows 7: resolution over 600dpi is not available, sorted printing doesn't work, printing of more than one copy doesn't work.

I have the same problem with a Laserjet 2605. Duplex printing just does not work in Windows 7.
Now November 2010 and still no solution.
