HP LaserJet 3055 Will Not Duplex

I am using an HP LaserJet 3055 AIO, printing wirelessly, and therefore (after the update of a few weeks ago), using both the HP driver (installed by CD) somewhere behind the scenes, but showing use of the Generic PostScript Printer 1.3. The Generic PS driver has the Duplex box checked, but I still cannot duplex print from any application with any configuration of printing instructions. Any ideas or suggestions?
(At least after the latest update, I can now print envelopes!)

I called HP. It is a known problem but there is no fix now. Apparently it works for some people and you might try manually deleting the files the driver uses, reinstalling the base leopard hp drivers, and then reinstalling the new driver from the hp web site. I haven't tried it, but it doesn't seem like it would do much. I guess I'll try it though.
They haven't updated the drivers or firmware in a while, so I'm not sure when they will try to fix this.

HP LaserJet 3055 is compatible with Windows 10, it will work with operating system Windows 10. Check below link for printer compatibility with Windows 10:

  • Hp laserjet 3055 will not print double sided

Okay, it worked before, but the scanner scanner software always crashed when I used it. So I thought I would reinstall the printer driver and see if that would let me scan. Well, the scanner software still crashes, but even worse there is no longer a double-sided (duplex) option available in the printer dialog. I have searched the support site and the internet but cannot find an answer.
I no longer care about scanning, but I would like double-sided printing back.

Woke up this morning and knew the answer. I had lost my presets for the printer when I had reinstalled the printer drivers. That was simple. I also installed manually HPPrinterDrivers2.14.dmg from the Apple support website and now scanning 'appears' to be working. I saw some info yesterday saying that this does not download through Software Update if you already have HP drivers installed.
Strange, but now things seem to be working better than before.

  • HP Color LaserJet CP1520nw will not connect to network (time out repeatedly)

My HP LaserJet CP1520nw won't connet to my wireless router upon installation, no many how many times I've been asked to connect it to the computer via a USB printer cable.   I uninstalled and reinstalled all software, and each time I try to set it up for wireless connectivity by connecting my computer and the printer via a USB printer cable, it gets to 99%  installed on the progress bar and sits there until it times out.  I suspect one of the follow but am open to other ideas from those more knowledgeable:
    1.  Is the printer locked onto some old, initial configuration from a previous wireless network that needs to be purged of addresses, etc. before it can accept the new ones?
    2.  Could my WPA WPA2 PSK AES encrytion be messing it up?  Are the modern firmware and updates designed to accept these ?  I never have gotten to a screen where it asks for my encyption key or even a WPS pass phrase.  What to do if so?
    3.  Could Church Lady be correct and that it is Satan preventing the installation?  If so, what icons does he use to watch out for and will my Norton anti-virus and malware quarantine him to Hell automatically or does it require manual enforcement?

    Hi @Marvalina1968,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP Color LaserJet CP1520nw will not connect to network with Windows 7. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to help!
    First to answer your questions:
It is possible the printer could be locked to an old configuration and needs to be reset.
I don't think your WPA WPA2 PSK AES encrytion could be messing it up, unless you got some really strange characters in your password.
Your Norton antivirus, could possible be causing the installation to fail.
Please take a look through the following guides:
'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the HP Printer Will Not Print.
Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection.
If the guides do not resolve the issue, please try the following:
Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Disable any antivirus programs. Disable antivirus software.
Disable any firewall programs. Turn Windows Firewall on or off.
Re-install the software. HP LaserJet Full Feature Software and Driver.
Hope this solves your problem, and have a good day!

  • HP Laserjet P2015 will not accept firmware update

    Hi,
A laserjet P2015n will not accept a firmware upgrade.
When attempting to upgrade, paper jam led flashes 3 times, pauses for 1 second , flashes 3 times.......led will repeat this pattern even after upgrade is supposed to have completed.
If I cycle the power, the printer returns to ready state but firmware is still at the older version.
User had been experiencing dificulties printing and firmware update might resolve the issues.
Does anyone know of a solution?

The product you have seems to be a commercial printer. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!

  • HP Laserjet 4100 will not print in Snow Leopard

Since I’ve installed Snow Leopard, I have not been able to print with my HP Laserjet 4100.
My set-up: new 24” iMac, many hard drives and more. Two devices: HP Color Laserjet 5550 and HP Officejet J5750 are connected to the iMac through a USB Hub. Although initially scanning did not work with the J5750, I was able to make that work once additional drivers were downloaded from HP. Both work fine.
I also have an older HP Laserjet 4100 which has been my steady workhorse for years. It only has Ethernet and serial port outlets. It is connected to an AT&T 2-Wired Ethernet Hub/DSL Modem (model 2701HG-B) that is connected to the iMac.
I’ve contacted HP and Apple about this problem. None of the three people I worked with at Apple could help and the HP representative was unsure if they could help but that it would cost me $40 to find out. According to HP website, since Apple Talk no longer exists, we are required to input the IP for the device. For the 4100, the IP address is 10.0.1.100. I tried this two ways: in the “Add Printer” window under “IP,” inputted as the IPP, and inputted as the HP Jetdirect Socket (as per the HP instructions). When this is done, the printer shows up when you give a print command. However, it does not show up in the “Add Printer” window under “default” or anywhere else.
Status: If I connect the 4100 Ethernet cable directly to the back of the iMac, the “Supply” level indicates the true level of toner in the 4100. However, it will not print. If I connect the 4100 Ethernet cable to the Ethernet hub, the supply level does not show nor can I print.
    Any suggestions?

Well, another week has gone by without a solution.
    Again, here is the problem:
I have a 24" iMac connected to a USB hub and an AT&T 2-Wire DSL/ethernet hub. When I upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.1 and now the update 10.6.2, the two printers on the USB hub work fine but the HP Laserjet 4100dtn does not print. This old printer has only ethernet or serial ports. I've downloaded and installed the HP driver updates from Apple and HP to no avail. According to HP, I must add the 4100 manually using its IP. I've followed the instructions while adding a printer to select IP- HP Jetdirect - Socket. The address of the printer is 10.0.1.100. When I type this in, the window says that this is a valid and complete address. It searches and then says the "Print Using:" is a Generic PostScript Printer. The driver for this printer, I believe, should be "HP LaserJet 4100 Series v.3010.107" Regardless, when I click Add the window "Determining Installable Options" shows "Status: Connecting to printer..." It never establishes a connection.
The 2-Wire DSL/Ethernet Hub/Modem, has an IP of 192.1687.1.66, Submask 255.255.255.0 and Router (DNS) 192.168.1.254.
If I plug the ethernet cable directly from the printer to the iMac, the supply level shows correctly but will not print. If I plug the ethernet cable from the printer to the 2-Wire and then to the iMac, it neither shows supply level nor prints.
Any suggestion as to how to fix this problem? (I've been on the phone with 3 different Apple respresentatives and 1 HP representative with no success.)

  • LaserJet 5000 will not print more than one copy at a time.

We have recently moved our office.  A LaserJet 5000 which is used as an office printer is shared through one of the computers on the network in the exact same way it was more we moved.  But since the move it will not print multiple copies of the same document no matter how many copies the software tells the printer to print it will only print one copy then it stops.  Before the moved it worked fine.  If the software program such as Word told it to print 100 copies it printed 100 copies now one is the limit.   So if you want to printmore than one you have to hit print that many times.  It has 172 MB RAM.  Does anyone have any ideas of what might have happened????

  • My HP Laserjet 1020 will not print from Internet Explorer 9

I just get an error message saying that "an error occurred on the script on this page."  The printer works fine with other software.  Moreover, Internet Explorer will print perfectly on my old HP deskjet 940c.  I've downloaded the latest driver for the Laserjet 1020, but it doesn't help.  Any suggestions?

My Hp 1020 Laserjet will not print  when using Explorer 9, it did when using Explorer 8.
    I get an error :

It will print when using Mozilla FireFox

  • HP laserjet 1536dnf will not print pdf's

My laser jet 1536dnf will not print pdfs.  Prints everything else.  I have adobe acrobat 9.  I have unistalled the driver/software for the printer and reinstalled.  Still not fixed.  When I pull up the pdf and select print, then hit ok, nothing happens.  However, I can print pdfs to the other printer connected to my computer.  This logically brings the conclusion that the issue is with the laser jet driver.  Does anyone have a clue as to how to fix this?

Hi , I see that you are having issues printing PDF documents, just from the Laserjet M1536dnf printer. I will certainly do my best to help you. Try printing a page from the printer's User Guide, to see if you have the same results. LASERJET PRO M1530.Let me know the results. Print the PDF as an image: Open the original PDF file, if necessary.Click File, and then click Print, or click the Print icon. The Print window opens.Click Advanced. The Advanced Print Setup window opens.Select the Print As Image checkbox, change any other settings as desired, and then click OK.On the Print window, click OK again to begin printing.Run the Adobe updates. • HP Laserjet 1320 will not print ?selected pages

I have the HP Laserjet 1320 and when in a Word document and I want to print a selected page (i.e. page 2 of 4 only), under Pages on the Print Menu, I enter 2 or 2-2 and select print and it will not print!  I can scroll down to place the pointer on page and tell it to print "current page" and it will print - why will it not print when I enter the page number I want to print.

  • HP LaserJet 4250 will not print

I have an HP Laserjet 4250 that will not print from any of the 15 stations it is set up to.  I send print jobs to it, and I have to power the cycle the printer in order for it to print.  I have deleted and re-added the printer to the workstations, and still get the same issue.  The IP address is correct the IP port is good, I have reset factory settings as well.  Still will not print more than 2 jobs without it having to be turned off/on.  Any suggestions???

  • HP Laserjet ProP1102 will not connect with my MacBook Pro

My new Macbook Pro with Yosemite will not print on this printer. It did do so a few days ago but not anymore. In wireless mode it will not communicate with the printer (or the printer will not communicate with it.) When connected with a wire the printer does not respond.
On my old MacPro with Mountain Lion it will print with a wire but not without.
There was a fleeting mysterious notice saying i needed a software update but I cannot find anything to this effect on the HP website.

    Hi @DavidL1,
I read your post and see that you are unable to print by a USB or Wireless connection. I will certainly do my best to help you.
Make sure Safari is set as the default browser. (sometimes the EWS won't open if it isn't set as the default)
Open Safari, across the top select the Safari menu, select Preferences, General, set as default.
Restore the printer's default wireless settings:
    1. Turn the product off.
    2. Press and hold the wireless button and the cancel button and then turn the product on.
    3. Hold the buttons until the printer stops making noise, then release the buttons.
Print a a Configuration Page to make sure the IPv4 and SSID are cleared of the old settings.

Repair the Disk Permissions on the Mac:
    Close all applications.
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, click Applications and then click Utilities.
    Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left.
Click Verify and then Repair Disk Permissions.
    Restart the computer..
    Reset the Printing System:
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Click the Apple icon and then click System Preferences.
    Click Printers & Scanners.
Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.

  • HP LaserJet 4L will not turn on

I recently acquired a used HP LaserJet 4L that will not turn on.
I hooked up the printer to an old Dell Dimension 4600 PC that uses the Ubuntu 10.04 Linux OS. (I presume that the power light should work regardless of which OS is being used.) When I hooked up the printer to the PC via the SCSI data cable and plugged in the power cord, the printer gave no indication that it is "on." I presume that, on the lower-left top of the printer, the lowest light in the vertical stack of four lights is the power-indicator light. The power cord is properly connected to a UPS that otherwise is currently powering this PC.
I should note that the printer's paper tray is difficult to remove and re-insert; it does not glide—instead, it has a lot of friction and resists being pushed in and pulled out. As far as I can tell, I am inserting it properly.  I looked underneath the printer and could see nothing broken off the tray tracks. I cannot tell if there is a missing plastic part intended to provide smooth sliding for the paper tray. But whether the paper tray is inserted properly or not, I would think that the power light still should turn on.
BTW, I manually installed the relevant PPD driver for the LaserJet 4L (i.e., the PC did not recognize the printer), but it would not print. Perhaps if I can get the printer to power on, it will recognize the printer and print OK. If I can get it to power on and it still doesn't recognize the printer or print, I'll try to solve THAT problem on the Ubuntu forum, not via the HP forum, because it's probably a Linux software problem.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

I have done extensive research online and looked for relevant posts in other forums, plus I downloaded a LaserJet 4L service manual. The verdict: A common cause of this no-power problem is a faulty DC controller board, blown fuse(s) on it, or other circuitry glitch. I am sure that the paper tray is inserted correctly.
So I decided to cut my losses (I'm not inclined to pull the printer apart to try to fix it--it's not worth my time) and tossed the printer. It's not cost-effective or time-effective to spend a lot of money or time to resuscitate old hardware, except perhaps as a learning exercise.
I consider this thread now closed.
