HP LaserJet 400 color M451dw asking password to login

Hello,
I purchased HP LaserJet 400 color M451 dw. after two months all the menu of this device disabled and it is asking password to login. i have in a big trouble. can anyone please help me how to reset this. i attached you the print screen. Thanks:

As far as I'm aware, the LaserJet Pro 400 colour printer M451dn model does not support wireless connections; you'd need the M451dw model for that.

  • HP LaserJet 400 Color MFP M475dw Problems in OS 10.9.4

I'm using a 2013 MacBook Pro, 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 9 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.  I connect via wifi to the referenced printer (for almost a year now).  Since updating to OS 10.9.4 I am able to print only one document at a time.  Attempting to print a second document generates the message "Printer is not connected."  If I turn the printer off and back on again, I'm able to print one document.  Then the same thing occurs again.  I have done the following so far, all to no avail:
Downloaded and installed latest driver (specifically for Mavericks) from HP
Checked for Apple software updates and found none
Reset the printing system (per instructions elsewhere in these forums)
I updated to OS 10.9.4 on July 5th and that is when this problem started.  Where do I go from here???

And BTW, here's a repost of what I posted on July 7th:
I'm running a 2013 Macbook Pro, 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, OS version 10.9.4 (updated to this OS version 5 days ago, on July 2nd).  For a little less than a year I've been printing to a HP LaserJet 400 Color MFP M475dw via wireless connection.  A few weeks ago I began to have numerous "printer is not connected" events, and it reached the point I could not print anything - from my MacBook, my iPad Air, or my iPhone 5S.  I discovered there was an updated printer driver on HP's website, specifically for OS 10.9.  Downloaded and installed it, and the problem was seemingly solved.
Then I updated the OS to 10.9.4.  AARRRRGH!!!!!!  For the last 5 days, the printer will - sometimes - print the first document in a queue of 2 or more and then, while the printer is still "running," tell me the printer is not connected.  I turn the printer off and back on, get one print job, then have to repeat the process.  Here are all the things I've tried to resolve the issue:
Verified settings on the printer to make sure everything is set up properly
Restarted Airport Extreme, printer, and MacBook (multiple times) -- clarification:  I turned off both the MacBook and the printer, then unplugged Airport for a few minutes, replugged it, restarted the printer, then restarted the MacBook
Reset the printing system (as suggested elsewhere in the Support forums), which basically removes all printers from the MacBook, then lets you add back those that you want - presumably with the most current driver(s).

Found a firmware update for the printer on HP's website -- but it is not compatible with OS 10.9 (only goes up through 10.8).  I downloaded it and tried, even though 10.9 was not listed, and the "app" wouldn't even open.
All of these efforts have been to no avail.  The problem persists, and I'm at my wit's end how to solve it.  HELP, please..........anyone??????

  • HP LaserJet 400 color M451nw

    Dear support,
The firmware link for HP LaserJet 400 color M451nw is not working.
May you please fix it, thanks.
    regards,
    Frank

There is no option to change what tray ePrint prints from.
For now, it will only print from tray 1.
However, you could load paper into tray 1 since it is currently left empty and change the default in the printer settings to tray 2 so that all print jobs (except for ePrint) will bypass tray 1.

  • Hoping for repsonse from HP, re: Laserjet 400 Color MFP M475dw can not locate wifi network

    Greetings!
MY HP Laserjet Pro 400 Color MFP M475dw (9 months old) no longer finds any wireless network in my home. It worked fine then stopped for no reason I can determine. Nor will it print via USB cable direct from my PC.  I opened a case with HP on 9/1/14 for this issue (Case [Edited for Personal Information]) but have only received emails from HP asking for a valid phone number and the address of the printer location, all of which has been provided several times. The first email from HP gave me a phone number to contact HP but that number was missing a digit (1-890-946-500). Please help! This printer is the only color printer I have to use for my home-based small business. Thank you! Wendy [Edited for Personal Information]

  • HP LaserJet Pro 400 Color M451dw

I've had my printers for almost 2 years and it's been working great.  For the past 2 months I've had an issue where there appears to be a watermark about 2 inches in from the right side.  It seems to show up on every other page and at times is at a different vertical location, but same horizontal.  Any thoughts?  This is my first laserjet printer, so I'm not well versed in maintenance.  Thanks!

First thing to try would be to invoke a cleaning page: the User Guide manual shows how to do this:
Print a cleaning page to remove dust and excess toner from the paper path if you are having any of the following problems:
    ● Specks of toner are on the printed pages.
    ● Toner is smearing on the printed pages.
    ● Repeated marks occur on the printed pages.
Use the following procedure to print a cleaning page.
    1. At the control panel, press the OK button to open the menus.
    2. Open the following menus:
    ● Service
    ● Cleaning Page
    3. Load plain paper in Tray 1, and then press the OK button to start the cleaning process. Wait until the process is complete. Discard the page that prints.
NOTE: For models that do not have an automatic duplexer, the product prints the first side and then prompts you to remove the page from the output bin and reload it in Tray 1, keeping the same orientation.

  • HP LaserJet 400 color M451dn - help connecting wirelessly

    Hello,
I am having the hardest time connecting my HP LaserJet wirelessly.  I bought it to be able to print wirelessy, but I cannot get it connected.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  It seems like this should be something very simple...
    Thank you,

As far as I'm aware, the LaserJet Pro 400 colour printer M451dn model does not support wireless connections; you'd need the M451dw model for that.

  • Disable sleep on HP LaserJet 400 color M451dn

Hello.I have this printer set up as a network printer, connected directly to the network.I already know that this printer doesn't allow ACL. Bummer. Now I have another problem with sleep mode. It's constantly in sleep mode and it takes one minute for it to wake up and print any document. I've installed the latest firmware (date: 20150126), still it doesn't allow to disable the sleep mode, unlike it is shown on the manual. The best option seems to be setting the  delay sleep mode for one hour, but this isn't good enough for my users.Any ideas, please?Regards.

I also wanted to know if a HP M575f MFP is able to scan-to-email to MS Office 365 before buying the printer.
Because I didnt find reliable information in the internet, I contacted HP Germany.
Today they told me that HP printers don't support Office 365. The original wording was:
'Allerdings wird Office 365 nicht von unseren HP Druckern unterstützt.'
     So far my present knowledge.

  • Laserjet 400 can't print envelopes ...

    All-
We purchesed a LaserJet 400 Color (M451) nw printer last year, and printing regular documents works fine. However, we have a lot of problems printing "non-letter" documents such envelopes, 3x5 cards, and other items. We are not trying to load different trays with different paper products -- we just want to manally feed single items using Tray 1 and have them print as directed.
The main issue is that the printer gives up before it even starts. If we create an envelope in something like Microsoft Word, and then press print, the printer automatially comes back with a "Jam in Tray 2" message before it even attempts to feed paper of any kind. Once we clear the message, it tries again, and usually prints a blank page from the normal letter-paper tray, completely ignoring our envelope sitting in the manually feed tray. The only way we have found to print these items, is to (1) open all paper trays and remove their contents, (2) re-insert all empty paper trays, and (3) manually feed the desired paper iteam (e.g. envelope) through Tray 1, and then it will work.
I miss our old HP printers that used to just work out of the box. (Sigh)
    Welcome comments.

Have same issue. HP salesman said put several envelopes in to raise the paper pile up higher so when it trys to grab the envelope it is easier to access. Also, don't forget to set the selection on your PC to the same size envelope that you are using. It won't print a #9 envelope if your selection is set on #10.
Alternative: Fool the printer! Open Windows WORD to a blank document page. Go to 'mailings' (envelopes) - click on ADD TO DOCUMENT - -- it will give you an envelope on the screen above the blank page.  Type your address onto the envelope -
be sure to place your paper envelope into the printer tray and lay a blank piece of paper on top.
When you click PRINT  -  The printer will grab the paper and pull it through as if you were printing a letter and the envelope will follow automatically.  Tah Tah!!!!   You have a printed envelope.

  • Hp LaserJet 400 M451 replaced cartridges, but they still read "low"

I have an HP LaserJet 400 color M451nw
When the cyan cartridge said it was low, I replaced it.  It then printed another 100 pages or so, without problems, then the printer told me the magenta was low , and I replaced it.  It printed a few more sheets, told me the yellow was low, I replaced it.
Now, although 3 cartridges have been replaced, it tells me the cyan cartridge is empty, the magenta cartridge is at 20%, and the yellow cartridge is at 70%  (all 3 of these cartridges are brand new HP catridges)
Now, it will not print at all, and insists the cyan cartridge is very low.
I have inspected all of the cartridges, was sure they were seated correctly, and I have reset the printer several times.
I cannot get the printer to "see" I have plenty of toner.

[Disclaimer - I have little experience or expertise in printers that use the 02 ink cartridges.]  That said the issue sounds like one that would be caused by air in the plumbing.  There is a long thread here, reading through has a few reported successes from reseting the printer.  I would suggest reading and trying the steps in these posts:

  • HELP! My HP LaserJet Pro 400 color MFP M475dn printer will NOT print!!!!

HP LaserJet Pro 400 color MFP M475dn- CE863A
Printer is on a network and can connect to multiple computers that include: Mac OS X, Windows 7, and Windows XP.
When I try to print from my iMac, the printer queue says "The printer is not connected".  When we try to print from the Windows computers, it just sits there in the queue and doesn't print.  When I go over to the printer itself and try to print either a demo page or a supplies page directly from it, it says on the screen that is printed it but nothing happens.  It doesn't hum or anything!  The port where the network cable is connected is lit green which HP says that means that the network cable is connected.  We have had this printer for a year now and something like this has never happened.
I haven't switched any software or anything before this happened.  It was working fine on Saturday when we were using it, but when we came into work today, it just decided it would stop printing!
I am stumped!  I tried 'pinging' the printer's IP address from my iMac and it pings just fine.  Does anyone have any tips?
(I tried doing the obvious too- like turning the printer on and off and shutting the computers down- and nothing!)
    This question was solved.

Okay, so I'm feeling slightly stupid right now.  I decided I would shut the printer down for about an hour to see if that was it and what do you know- it was!  I had shut it off a few times before but I guess it just wasn't long enough.  What a pain!
Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this!  Sorry to waste anyone's time!!

  • HP LaserJet Pro 400 color Printer M451dn won't print

My HP LaserJet Pro 400 color Printer M451dn stopped printing after a short usage of non hp toner. How do I get this printer to accept these toner cartridge ? My 3600dn never has a problem

If you are using non-HP toner cartridges, then I would say that the onus is on the supplier of these to resolve the problem.
Or to accept that these cartridges aren't quite as compatible as they've no doubt been advertised to be.
