HP laserjet 400 mfp and Laserjet 200 mfp

I have 2 printers HP Laserjet 200 mfp and HP Laserjet 400 MFP. I tried HP phone support. I checked each printer on 2 diffent networks to make sure it was not my setup. When I try and setup both printers with Web Services they both say unable to connect to the internet. I did a firmware update on both printers no help. HP told me that I needed to have a DMZ setup ie. port forwarding I don't think this is right.
Thanks

  • IPv4 Gateway Issue? - HP LaserJet 400 M401dn / 400 MFP M425dn

    Hello,
I work in healthcare and in our environment we have mostly HP LaserJet printers. Within the last 6 - 12 months we have started using some HP LaserJet 400 M401dn and HP LaserJet 400 MFP M425dn printers. They all have been updated with the latest firmware (20 printers) and connect to the network via ethernet using IPv4. We are having an issue when trying to print to them from a specific application. It's only happening on these particular models. All other HP LaserJet printers DO NOT have this problem (HP LaserJet 2015dn, 2055dn, P4015dn, 600 M602dn). The application is a telnet client using SSL that connects to a server. This server is on a different subnet (128.1.x.x) than the printers (10.92.x.x) that the clients print to.
It is possible to 'ping' the printer within the application using the printer hostname or IP address. The problem is, there are times when the printer status says 'Ready', and we can ping the printer from within the Windows operating system (Win7 Pro), but we cannot ping it via telnet SSL client. There is no response. The result is, we cannot print from the application to these printers. This problem isn't consistent either. There are times when it does work!
If we assign the printer to the same subnet as the application server, the issue appears to go away. Unfortuantely this is not a feasible permanent fix for us as the printers need to remain in their current subnet.
Sleep Mode is disabled on all of these printers. IPv4 settings are all correct and have been verified by various IT staff.
We believe there is an IPv4 gateway issue within the NICs on these printers. Has anyone ever had a similar issue? Are there any other additional details that I should provide which might help resolve this issue?
    Regards.

To start off, the issue you are having may be caused by the softare you are using or the HP software. I am gonig ot to do some investigating to find out. I will want to to make sure that the softare is the most current version, follow the link below and reinstall if necessary (do not rely upon the CD-ROM):
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=5096244&lang=en&cc=us...
Then if it is the same or you are still having issues I would recommend trying to use the PCL6 drivers for this. They offere a broader support to some of the more code specific programs :
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodTypeId=...
Run through that and let me know how it goes, I'll get right back in touch with you!

PS :: Can you print to this printer from other programs? Have a wonderful day!

  • Where can I find a 10.5.8 driver for Laserjet 400 m401dne printer?

I'm running OS 10.5.8 on a G5 desktop (tower), and I just bought a LaserJet Pro 400 M401dne and connected it to this Mac with a usb cable. The Mac will print to it using a generic postscript driver automatically chosen by the OS. There is no driver for the LaserJet 400 on the list of drivers available in the OS.
The installer disk for the printer doesn't offer any driver installation for 10.5.8. It just says that the DVD software won't work with this version of the Mac OS.
This printer is capable of doing duplex (double-sided) printing, which is the main reason I bought this printer, but I am not given that option in any of the dialogue boxes for the printer when I hit PRINT. Apparently the generic postscript driver doesn't recognize the duplex printing feature of the printer. As a result I cannot print on both sides of a page.
I went to the HP website and could not find a LaserJet 400 driver for OS 10.5, nor do I see any driver for it on the Apple website. The free Gutenprint driver utility lists many LaserJet models, but not the 400.
Does anyone know where I might find a driver for this LaserJet 400 that will enable it to do double-sided printing in OS 10.5.8?
    Tom

You solved the problem, BDAqua! I downloaded the driver for the LaserJet 500 from the HP website, as you suggested, and I found that it runs my LaserJet 400! And now I have the double-sided printing capability that I wanted. I just now printed out some double-sided pages to prove it.
I never even considered that a driver for a different HP printer might run this one, but it does. It offers options for printing color that this printer does not have, since the HP 400 is only a black-and-white (or grayscale) printer, and the driver thinks it is running a color printer, but I can simply ignore those.
So the HP Color LaserJet 500 driver for OS 10.5.8 is able to run the HP LaserJet 400 monochrome printer. Whodathunk!
Other HP LaserJet 400 owners running 10.5.8 take note!
    Thank-you very much BDAqua!

  • Hp laserjet 400 mfp can't scan, i lost the installation cd

    Hello,
    i have a hp laserjet 400 mfp and i can't scan.
I have Windows 7 and the printer works just fine with the W7 software, but the scan option is not available, because the software installs only the printer, not the scanner.
I lost the installation cd and the installation software from hp support only install the printer , not the scanning option. Please help.
I also tried the e-mail scanning software from hp, but i don't know if it works , because i don;t know how to set the settings.
    Thank you.

Hi, thank you for your answer. I tried with the full software you gave me in your link, but it was no good, because my printer is a Laserjet 4100 MFP, and the software was asking for an usb device, wich my printer is not...
I don't need the driver for the printer, i have that driver, but that driver sees the MFP like a simple printer, without scanner, so, the scanner remains usefull. I need the full software or the CD.
I don't receive an error, i just need the full software for Laserjet 4100 MFP. I didn't find it on HP's website, unfortunately and i don't have the installation CD anymore, cause i lost it....
    Thank you.

  • HP LaserJet 400 Color MFP M475dw Problems in OS 10.9.4

I'm using a 2013 MacBook Pro, 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 9 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.  I connect via wifi to the referenced printer (for almost a year now).  Since updating to OS 10.9.4 I am able to print only one document at a time.  Attempting to print a second document generates the message "Printer is not connected."  If I turn the printer off and back on again, I'm able to print one document.  Then the same thing occurs again.  I have done the following so far, all to no avail:
Downloaded and installed latest driver (specifically for Mavericks) from HP
Checked for Apple software updates and found none
Reset the printing system (per instructions elsewhere in these forums)
I updated to OS 10.9.4 on July 5th and that is when this problem started.  Where do I go from here???

And BTW, here's a repost of what I posted on July 7th:
I'm running a 2013 Macbook Pro, 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, OS version 10.9.4 (updated to this OS version 5 days ago, on July 2nd).  For a little less than a year I've been printing to a HP LaserJet 400 Color MFP M475dw via wireless connection.  A few weeks ago I began to have numerous "printer is not connected" events, and it reached the point I could not print anything - from my MacBook, my iPad Air, or my iPhone 5S.  I discovered there was an updated printer driver on HP's website, specifically for OS 10.9.  Downloaded and installed it, and the problem was seemingly solved.
Then I updated the OS to 10.9.4.  AARRRRGH!!!!!!  For the last 5 days, the printer will - sometimes - print the first document in a queue of 2 or more and then, while the printer is still "running," tell me the printer is not connected.  I turn the printer off and back on, get one print job, then have to repeat the process.  Here are all the things I've tried to resolve the issue:
Verified settings on the printer to make sure everything is set up properly
Restarted Airport Extreme, printer, and MacBook (multiple times) -- clarification:  I turned off both the MacBook and the printer, then unplugged Airport for a few minutes, replugged it, restarted the printer, then restarted the MacBook
Reset the printing system (as suggested elsewhere in the Support forums), which basically removes all printers from the MacBook, then lets you add back those that you want - presumably with the most current driver(s).
Searched help/support forums on Apple, HP, and the internet in general
Found a firmware update for the printer on HP's website -- but it is not compatible with OS 10.9 (only goes up through 10.8).  I downloaded it and tried, even though 10.9 was not listed, and the "app" wouldn't even open.
All of these efforts have been to no avail.  The problem persists, and I'm at my wit's end how to solve it.  HELP, please..........anyone??????

  • HP LaserJet 400 MFP My PCL 6

My HP LaserJet 400 MFP M425 PCL 6 sends a message that paper is caught up near the cartridge area. I had my IT guy look at it and he says there's a wheel on the inside of the machine that is supposed to engage another wheel on the paper feeder. He said it's broken. I am still on my first full toner cartiridge and I'm told it costs more to replace this little wheel than buying a new MFP. Can this be true? It doesn't seem right to need a whole new device for less than 6,000 copies.

    Sandy0331,
I am sorry you are having this fax issue.
I think the best option would be for you to print out the fax log. I believe it will reprint the last 50 inbound and outbound faxes.
Check the fax activity log for errors.
a.Touch the Fax button, and then touch the Fax Menu button.
    b.Open the Fax Reports menu.
c.Open the Fax Activity Log menu.
d.Select the Print Log Now option.
●If a phone is connected to the product, make sure that the phone is hung up.
●Disconnect all other lines between the fax and the product.
●Connect the product directly into the wall telephone jack and resend the fax.

  • LaserJet 400 MFP Won't scan - "Device is Busy"

My HP LaserJet 400 MFP refuses to scan either to the network folder I set up, or to a USB drive. It simply displays the message "Device is Busy". I have tried restarting the device, and removing hte network cable, but it continues to display this message. There is nothing in the print queue that I know of. Please help!

I have a problem with my scan to folder as well and I have to access the folder from a computer before it will work.  I'm not sure why that works, actually.  You might want to give that a try to see if it fixes the problem.  If it does, I imagine it is some sort of security problem with the folder you are trying to scan to.
    Thanks,

  • Issue Printing One or Two Checks on HP LaserJet Pro 200 MFP M276nw

I just purchased an HP LaserJet Pro 200 MFP M276nw which replaces an HP Color LaserJet 2605dn.
I've run into an issue printing checkes from Quicken when I print less than a full sheet (one or two) checks.
With my old printer, I used the manual feed for a partial sheet.
Since the new printer does not have a manual feed, I have to put the partial sheet in the paper tray.
It seems one of two things happen:
    1) Sometimes the printer will print the partial page but then displays an error message which says something like "Unexpected paper size, load letter."
It then re-prints the partial page on the next sheet of paper.
    2) Othertimes, it prints the partial page without the error message, but then feeds the next sheet of paper throught the printer.
In either case the next page contains the next three checks, so it's either wasting checks or printing on the wrong check numbers.
Any suggestions on how to avoid these issues would be appreciated.

    Me too.
I've been using an alternate printer for printing the checks, but I'd rather get rid of the old one. (The HP Laser Pro 200 takes up a lot of space!)
KC, Seems like you've been waiting for an answer for a VERY long time.  I'm not going to hold my breath.
Hey HP!  Do you ever monitor this site?!

    Hello,
I am about to buy the HP LaserJet Pro 200 MFP M276nw however I cannot find in its manual what network filesystems/protocols it supports for scanning to network folder.
I need it to be able to scan to a NFS share preferably or to a samba share.
Can anyone confirm this printer is able to do this?

  • HP Color Laserjet CM1312nfi MFP and OSX Yosemite

Hello all. I have a HP Color Laserjet CM1312nfi MFP, and i can't install it on OSX 10.10 Yosemite. When i plug in the USB cable, nothing happens. My Mac does not find the printer, and i can't install driver from HP's website. All USB ports in my Mac works, and i can plug the cable in a Windows computer, where there is no problem at all. I tried to update the firmware through a Windows computer, but it did not helped. Any suggestions?

The HP drivers won't load on my 10.10.x (10.10.1 thru 10.10.4) OSX macbook pro.  The install says the version of OSX isn't supported even thought I've tried 1.5.0 dmg file which is for 10.7 and greater.  I did the math and I believe 10.10.x is greater than any version of 10.7.  I also tried HP Easy Scan and it doesn't even see my scanner.  Printing works fine, but I scan a lot of paper.  Also, I've found that the Mac OSX version of the HP software (when it still worked) creates obscenely large PDF files.  I can get around this by opening Adobe Acrobat Pro and re-saving the file as a reduced file size with the same name.  I can take a 25 MB file HP creates and get it down to about 300KB or so.  I found a way around all this but you won't like it.  I've loaded Parallels (installed windows 7 ultimate 64 bit) and installed the windows client in my parallels image.  The windows client works fine.  Not a solution I prefer, but this is an HP issue not an apple issue .... HP hasn't put out a driver for this printer in the better part of 3.5 years.  Lastly, I'm not hooking up a USB cable to my printer/fax/scanner .... what's the point of having a dhcp network capable printer if I have to hard wire to a PC? I've used HP printers since the mid-'90s, but I guess it's time to find a company that supports OSX.

  • HP LaserJet 400 MFP M425dn: bug in MTU path discovery, printer reboots via web interface

     Firmware Datecode: 20121205
    1. We can not access this MFU over VPN link. Otherer devices are accessed successfully.
As far as I understand there is an error in MTU Path Discovery.
    tcpdump logs are attached.
Is there a way to change MTU of this device?
    2. This MFU a  reboots when I open page "Settings" of "Networking" submenu (/hp/device/set_config_networkSettings.html?tab=Networking&menu=NetSettings) if option "System" -> "System Setup" -> "Language" is "Russian". But this looks like a very good feature since I've have not found the way to reboot this printer remotely.

As a network administrator I've traced source of problem on all possible points and found that HP m425dn has a bug in the "Path MTU Path discovery" routine. The logs I attached shows that any packet of the TCP stream that the printer (160.200) sends to host (4.135) has "Don't fragment" flag set. According to IP standard the router HAVE TO discard the packet with DF flag set and size bigger then MTU since it can not pass a packet further without fragmentation - IPSEC MTU is 1280 bytes only while HP sends 1500 bytes. The router informs the printer about this problem with ICMP message Type: 3 (Destination unreachable) with Code: 4 (Fragmentation needed) suggesting MTU of next hop: 1280. The router does not communicate with the printer itself, it just informs the printer about network problem. According to IP standard the printer HAVE TO resend this data with the size of packet decreased according to suggested size. This is expected behavior of the Path MTU discovery routine. But the printer  sends the packet again with the same size and DF flag set. The router again discards the packet and informs printer... This cycle repeats again and again until connection is closed due to timeout. Therefore "Path MTU discovery" routine is broken at this device. It would not be a serious problem, but the printer resends packets at rate over 28000 pps (about 40 MBytes per seconds) and its CPU is so heavily loaded that it even does not respond to touches on its touchscreen. So an innocent attempt to print document on terminal server located at another office leads to inaccessibility of the printer.

  • HP LaserJet 400 MFP M425dw setting up scanning to email

    Hello,
I want to set up the Scan to email option on our printers however our emails are made through an exchange environment, and I don't see an option about sending scanned emails from an exchange email account. I'm not too sure what port I would need if we have exchange accounts.

    Hi,
The Laserjet 400 M425dw only support scanning to an email account by using SMTP server.
If your exchange account does not support SMTP, you will not be able to use the specific feature, I would suggest contacting your IT and check for the SMTP server details, if an SMTP server is not available you will need to use a differnt email account which use an SMTP server.

  • Cannot print to HP LaserJet 400 colorMFP M475dw after updating OS

I also wanted to know if a HP M575f MFP is able to scan-to-email to MS Office 365 before buying the printer.
Because I didnt find reliable information in the internet, I contacted HP Germany.
Today they told me that HP printers don't support Office 365. The original wording was:
'Allerdings wird Office 365 nicht von unseren HP Druckern unterstützt.'
     So far my present knowledge.

  • HP LaserJet 400 colorMFP M475dw scan to email problems

    Hi all!
I'd very much appreciate a solution to my agony.
We recently purchased a HP LaserJet 400 colorMFP M475dw multifunction printer. Now I'm trying to set it up (browser administration -> Scan --> Outgoing E-mail Profiles) to send scanworks by email but facing following problems:
    1. When typed in all the credentials correctly, even the "Test & Save" option takes ages. After cople attempts I got it succesfully tested.
    2. Using my personal gmail-accout as sender, the scanning work takes a long time. It stops in connecting smtp server phase for quite a long time before even starting the actual scan.
    3. Using the company's newly created email accounts as sender, it takes even longer. I just timed it to take 6 minutes and 23 seconds before it started the actual scanning.
    4. Now it seems to send the scan ok, but with some of the first attempts it failed with some general error message asking to try again.
In my opinion the time it takes is totally unacceptable. Is this some known issue and is there a workaround?
Our company emails run on MS Office 365 and I'm using smtp.office365.com as the smtp server, port 587 and SSL/TLS checked (tried unchecked too). As I said with Gmail it might not be as slow but still very very very slow.
    Please help?
