  • Laserjet 4345 mfp won't scan to folder; web interface not showing all admin tabs

    Hi,
I have a laserjet 4345 mfp which, until a few days ago, was able to scan documents to a network folder. When I try now it gives me the error "the path cannot be found". Here's what I've tried so far:
    - Looked for a way to change the network folder settings or define a new folder. I couldn't find any so I printed the "how to scan to folder" page from the control panel. It tells me to define a new location by clicking the "Other" button on the control panel, but I can't find an Other button, on any screen.
    - Accessed the web interface, which only shows up  with the "Home" and "Networking" tabs - no "Digital Sending", "Settings", or  "Information" tabs, which should be there according to the manual.
    - Thinking it might be a permissions issue, I checked and found that the administrator password was not set. I set the admin password via the web interface, and now when I try to access it prompts for the password I defined, but still gives this incomplete interface. I am also able to access and change all the networking settings, so I don't think insufficient permissions are the issue.
    - Called HP support, they said the problem is permissions and I should cold reset the machine, which I am quite reluctant to do since not only all settings, but the entire address book as well, would need to be re-entered. This aside from the fact that I really don't think permissions are the issue, as decribed above.
    - Verified that I am able to send scans to different email addresses. SMTP gateway test goes through OK. LDAP does not, but this has not prevented scan to folder from working in the past.
I don't know how the scan-to folder was initially set up because I wasn't supporting this client at the time.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks in advance.

I have a problem with my scan to folder as well and I have to access the folder from a computer before it will work.  I'm not sure why that works, actually.  You might want to give that a try to see if it fixes the problem.  If it does, I imagine it is some sort of security problem with the folder you are trying to scan to.
    Thanks,
    Tiffany

  • HP laserjet 1536dnf MFP keeps Printing

    Hi Admin,
I currently work as an IT Entry Level Support, and I have a problem with HP laserjet 1536dnf MFP  that I cannot give time to figure out why.
    Here's what I have:
    System: WXP Pro v2002 SP2
    Hardware: HP laserjet 1536dnf MFP
Device Manager Driver: HP LJ M1530 Series Scan ; Driver Date: Nov 16, 2009
HP laserjet 1536dnf MFP keeps printing JZJZL() and different Random Garbled characters, I can only print properly if I switch it on and Turn it on again.
One more question: Is there a way to stop whatever is printing from the HP Toolbox.
    Thank you..
    This question was solved.

    Hi @Claude-Antoine,
I understand that the printer is printing garbled print and something keeps printing off from the Toolbox. I can help you with this.
Most likely the driver is corrupted and you will have to uninstall and reinstall the printer software.
If you can print the hardware self test page properly, then it would be a software issue.

How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet)
If your networked, do you have a Static IP setup and what kind of router are you using?

  • How to enable WebScan feature in LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw Printer

I have installed a new LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw printer with wireless configured. The IP Address is 192.168.0.21. I visit http://192.168.0.21 through browser. I don't see Print/Copy/WebScan options there. I can see rest of the configuration tabs.
I am interested in WebScan feature to scan document from my Chromebook. Please let me know how to enable this.

    Hi,
The Webscan feature is not available on laser printers, it is only available on Inkjet printers.
I afraid you can only print from a Chromebook, scanning to a such is not supported with the HP Laserjet Pro MFP M126 printer.

  • LaserJet m1217nfw mfp - wireless printing keep failing / dropping off on Mac OS 10.7.5

I have installed my LaserJet m1217nfw mfp at least 4 times in the past month using my Mac that's running on OS 10.7.5. The first time was with the CD that came with the printer, and the last 3 times was with the latest software downloaded from HP.
Each time, the wireless printing is set up and works without problem (using these official HP instructions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48mLZoRjJm0). But a few days later, when I try to do the wireless printing again from the same Mac, it can't find the printer on the network. And nothing about the network or router has changed.
It's quite frustrating. I doubt installing it for the 5th time is going to solve the problem once and for all.
    Any ideas much appreciated!
    Thanks

    Hello SC_W,
The IP address can be fixed by going to Setup > Network Config > TCP/IP Config from the printer front panel.
Then select Manual and set the IP as manual.. I would using an higher value to avoid IP conflicts (e.g. if the current IP is 10.0.0.1, change only the last part to 10.0.0.20 so the address will remain and won't be used by other devices when the printer is powered off.)
Although I personally doubt it will help assigning a fixed IP as Mac OS X uses Bonjour hostname to communicate with the printer (which is fixed) and not athe IP address as Windows uses.
Additionally, as Apple products uses Bonjour, I could see some discussions on this matter for the Home Hub 3.0.
    Below is an example:
    https://community.bt.com/t5/Other-BB-Queries/HomeHub-3-Apple-Bonjour-not-working-for-AirPlay-AirPrin...
If setting a fixed IP does not help, try the folowing to isolate the problem and ensure if Multicast packets transfer may cause the issue:
From your Mac go to System Preferences > Print & Scan, click the Plus sign and then click the IP tab.
Select the HP Jetdirect Socket protocol and type the IP as the address value.
Add the printer, you will see an additional print queue listed as the IP address.
Keep using this queue for printing and let me know if you may se any difference for this print queue..

  • HP Laserjet Pro MFP M12fn, printing a solid black line on every paper

I'm running windows 7 professional. I haven't received any error messages and nothing out of the oridarny has happened. My printer/scanner/fax/copy (My HP Laserjet Pro MFP M12fn, product # CZ181A) is printing with a black line down the entire paper, but its only doing it thru the feeder and not on the glass. HELP, How can I fix this?

Welcome to the HP Forums angelinaOO7,
I read your post, which indicates that you are getting a black line down the page when using the feeder. You can print fine from the glass. I can help you with this.
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Clean the scanning glass and platen.
    Turn the printer off.
Disconnect the power cord from the product and the wall outlet.
    Open the scanner lid.
Clean the following scanner areas with a soft cloth or sponge that has been moistened with nonabrasive glass cleaner.
    Main scanner glass.
Small scanner glass to the left of the main scanner glass.
    White plastic backing.
Dry the glass and white plastic backing with a chamois or a cellulose sponge to prevent spotting.
Plug the power cord into the product and the wall outlet.
    Turn the printer on.
    Try to make another copy.
If you are still having issues, then update the printer's firmware.

Got a brand new, fresh out of the box, HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn. Failed to install the driver that came with it on my computer Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium. I tried the installation many many times. Hope one of you have a solution for this problem.

  • Color LaserJet CM1015 mfp photo printing problem

I am running a Color LaserJet CM1015 mfp utilizing only HP print cartridges and HP Color Laser Photo Paper, glossy, yet I cannot seem to get a decent photo to print.  There is always a black smear or two on the front of the printed page.  It prints black and white and color just fine on plain paper but I cannot get a decent print on glossy.  This has happened since day one so I don't think it's a dirty print roller,,etc. issue.
    Thanks for any ideas!
    Michael

Yes I solved the problem. I had to clean the registry of all information regarding this printer. During the installation I noticed interesting thing. The only installation that worked well was from the CD that came with the printer. I've tried downloaded latest version but it didn't install properly and have no idea why.

  • Is it possible to turn a regular HP Laserjet into a Network Printer?

I just purchased a new iMac, and am keeping the old iMac (4 years old).
I have a HP 2015d Laserjet Printer, which is not a network printer.
Is there some kind of hardware that can be purchased to make the printer a network printer so that both computers can have use of the printer?

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw Printer always cool-down mode

Hi there, i am also meeting with the same issues like the cooldown mode printing.

Hi , I found something written by that you may find helpful regarding the printer going into cool down mode: I have provided a document with Resolving Control Panel Messages. Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation. Update the printer's firmware. HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw Drivers. Where is the printer located? (enclosed shelf, desk)How many pages are you printing when you get this message? What is the paper's weight and what kind of paper are you using?  If the issue persists, please post back with the answer to the above questions.  Thanks.

  • HP Laserjet M1212nf MFP not printing doc in Windows print queue

Printer is connected via USB to a laptop running XP. Prints OK. Have another Windows laptop connected via wireless network, sharing the printer and this prints OK. Am trying to share the printer with a Mac OSX Lion over the wireless network. I can get a doc into the print queue on the laptop hosting the printer but nothing prints. The print queue says it's printing and it does complete and delete from queue, but nothing prints. I have tried attaching the printer as a generic PS and PCL printer when configuring the Mac printer share but get same result. I don't see the drivers for the 1212 in the drop-down list on the Mac when I connect to the printer.

  • LaserJet 1020 as network printer

Am I able to set up the 1020 on a wireless network?

If you put it on your network, you can print to it from a wireless PC. You can make it available over a network by using Windows printer sharing from a PC that it is plugged into using a USB cable. The disadvantage is that you have to have this PC on all the time in order to print to the printer from any other PC over the network. If you want to go this way, you select the printer in Windows, and in the options, there should be one to share it. Then on the other PCs in your network, you need to do an add-printer.
A simpler option is to buy an external print server like a JetDirect box, but this isn't free like Windows printer sharing. However, if you want the printer to be wirelessly connected to the network, I think this is your only option - to buy a wireless external print server.
    Hope this helps,
