HP LaserJet 4345mfp 13.20.00 jam in top cover area

hi.
i have HP 4345MFP and its showing an error (13.20.00 Jam in top cover area).  i have cleared jam paper from the paper path areas and also checked the sensor possition all the sensors are in good position but still printer showing 13.20 paper jam error kindly help?

Check for something in the fuser area. Might want to remove the fuser and then re-seat it.
If so, try swapping the fuser with another 4345 (if available) and see if the problem follows the fuser.

  • Laserjet 4650dn 13.09.00 Jam In Top Cover Error!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone else see this error on their 4600/4650 series printer when trying to print a full page photo?  If the photo has a lot of black it will jam every single time.  If the photo is more magenta or cyan it will usually make it thru.  I tried a different toner with no success.
I also removed the fuser expecting to clean it, but it appears spotless.
    I also tried different papers.
    Ideas?

You can check the error log history for the 13.09.00
A small amount I suppose is ok.

  • Unable to print on laserjet 4345mfp

Hello I had a Macbook pro and Since I update my mac to 10.8.3 the machine is unable to print on a LaserJet 4345MFP. I'm able to print on brother and other colorlaserjets from Hp on the network but for this particular printer I'm not. Last week I purchased a new MacBook Pro 15 Retina, when I add the printer the OS download the driver add the printer but even on this new mac I'm not able to print and on the other printers I do. Which could be the problem? Anyone with same issue?

    Hello
Could you provide a few more details about 'can't print' ?
Is the MBP and the printer connected via Ethernet ?  Does the printer show in the list when you 'Add printer" ?
Or, is Add Printer successful, but then you get some type of error when  you actually try and print.
we want to separate discovery issues vs actual driver/print issue
    thanks

  • HP Laserjet 2420 sees jammed papers, but they are not.

I have a HP Laserjet 2420 printer, I use it with a LAN for work reasons. All the computers using this printer are Apple computer with different version of MacOS X (from 10.3 to 10.6). The printer started stopping randomly and quite often as like as sheets of paper are jammed, but they are not; clicking on the "v" button on the printer is enough to resume work. The printer is apparently fine, so I do not know how to solve the problem.
    Thanks

  • LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw Scanner Jam - 2 printers now

I purchased a LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw earlier this year (February timeframe).  Within a couple of months, the scanner feeder was pretty much always jamming at the second page. It eventually got to the point where it would jam at the first page. Prior to this, I had had no problems.
Because he expressed interest in it, I gave that printer to a friend.  In April, I purchased the same brand of printer from the same store.  All was well until several days ago when the scanner feeder started to jam on this printer - initially when the third page was being fed, and now the printer is doing it at the second page.
Both printers are connect via USB. My laptop is running Windows 8.1.
I've uninstalled and re-installed the drivers/software.  I've attempted to run the HP Print and Scan Doctor but it repeatedly gets hung up and I have to close it from the Task Manager.
I called the store from which I bought the two printers and they suggested it might be a manufacturer defect.
Thoughts as to what may be happening?

    Hello BFB101,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand two Laserjet MFP M127fw that you bought, receive a paper jam in the automatic document feeder. I will do my best to assist you! Please make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector. I just want to see if this makes a difference.
I would follow this HP document on 'Original Jam: Clear jam, and then press OK' Message Displays on the All-in-One. Make sure there is no paper within the automatic document feeder since you keep experiencing this problem.
Try performing a hard reset on your printer for more than 60 seconds. Leave the printer turned on> Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
The last step you can try is updating the Firmware on your printer. I will provide the HP website where this download is located here. Please choose your correct operating system.
If you're experiencing the same problem, then you will have to contact HP technical support for further assistance. Click here to find out: HP Worldwide Contact.
    Good luck.

  • Printer paper jam in the internal area

I have a P1102w and had a paper jam got most of the paper out except for the internal area, help

    Hi,
Try cleaning the paper jam by following any way to reach the internal parts described by the document below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02011343&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=4110396&tmp...
If you cannot reach the Jammed paper according that information, most likely you will have to contact the local HP Support and service the printer.
    Hope that helps,
    Shlomi

  • LaserJet 1200 Jams

I pulled paper from the front of the LaserJet 1200 instead of the release area in the back of the printer.  Now my printer jams everytime I try and print.  Should I try and buy a part to fix the printer or just scrap this old model?
    Frank

    Hi sabrefreak,
The Jam Code 13.09.00 JAM IN TOP COVER ARE means that the the printer is detecting that media has crumpled into an accordion fold as it enters the fuser.
In your comments you mentioned that the fuser has been replaced but you are still getting the error.
That leads me to think that the sensor or sensor flag may be damaged.
This is a photo of the top of the fuser when it has been removed from the printer:
This is a photo of the bottom of the fuser.  The area circled in red is the sensor flag that is associated with the 13.09.00 Jam.  Make sure this flag can move freely.
This next picture is to the left of the fuser flag in the photo above.  It is the portion that interacts with the sensor within the engine. Make sure that this has no damage.
This last photo is within the left side of the print engine where the sensor flag above meets with the sensor.  The sensor is circled in red.  Make sure there is no damage to the sensor area.
If everything passes visual inspection, you may have a problem with the sensor.  In which case I would recommend you contact HP support.  The sensor may need to be replaced.
I hope that this helps you.

  • HP Laserjet 1010 paper jam issue

I know this is not specifically an Apple problem, but I have spent days searching for a solution elsewhere with no luck, so I was wondering if anyone here could help?
My HP LaserJet 1010 had some issues with printed pages not coming right through - they jammed right at the last minute when most of the page was out.
After carefully removing the sheet, the paper jam light is constantly flashing, despite there being no paper in sight. No amount of resetting, cleaning etc has any effect. Neither do the rollers move any more when it is switched on, as they are supposed to.
When I try to print, the driver program gives the error:
"Printer Error: The printer needs attention"
Any ideas for how to solve this would be much appreciated.

Chances are the printer has a small bit of paper that is still jammed in it. When paper jams always try to pull in the direction of the paper path! If it tears then remove the toner cartridge to see if you can see any bits of paper inside. I have the Laserjet 1012 which is a similar design, early in it's life I had a similar issue, after removing the toner cartridge and seeing all bits of paper were gone I still got an error. I then removed the top cover of the printer, located and removed the offending piece of paper, put it back together and now several thousands of pages later all is fine.
If that doesn't work then contact HP's support (they will reply to an email with 24 hours) or go the chat route. If you try to call because you are well out of warranty there will be charge.

I have got a HP Laserjet 2430dtn and the bit of plastic for the rear paper jam sensor has broken off the printer and as such I now get a permanent 'Rear Paper Jam' error.
Is it possible to disable the sensor so that I can still use the printer or is the printer dead?

  • HP Laserjet 2200dtn paper select issue

I have an HP Laserjet 2200dtn connected via jet direct with a direct ip. I can print to the device with one issue. All print jobs using the "Automatically Select" option for paper tray go to the manual tray and require me to tell the printer to continue. Prior to Snow Leopard the driver would go to the first available paper feed drawer (if paper was in manual it would go there, otherwise it went to either tray 2 or tray 3 on its on). Any Ideas? I would rather the printer automatically select tray 3 to print from and have me manually select tray 1 when I need it.
    Thanks.
