Hp Laserjet CP1515N network sharing error

i have a problem with the printer sharing. my company just recenly upgrade my boss pc to a new acer veriton with windows 7 home edition, but now i cant get the new pc to connect with shared Hp Laserjet CP1515N located on his PA office. his PA still using windows xp pro ;-). i guesst this accur because of the diferent OS, can u guy help me how to deal with this? the network is fine sharing and all good, i can search the printer but if i tried to connect i get can't connect to printer

Could you provide a screen shot of the error message and the options it gives you?  I want to get a better idea of where the printer's install is failing, and what can be done about it.

    Mudda,
Is LabVIEW 2010 installed on the PXI chassis or was this program developed on a different computer?
If LabVIEW 2010 was installed on a different computer you may need the 2010 runtime engine on the controller. If the development environment is installed on the PXI controller then you should be fine.
How are you connecting to the PXI chassis is it on the network or do you have it directly connected to your development computer?
If you look at this forum the same error occured when another device on the network was sharing the same IP address.

Could you try plugging the PXI chassis in directly and see if that resolves the issue or changing the IP address?

  • Printing problems with hp laserjet cp1515n [found problem]

    Dear Arch users,
A couple of weeks ago I installed for the first time an Arch linux on my brand new Dell laptop with an UEFI MB. It took a while until I could understand how UEFI works but eventually I sort it out and got Arch installed. Unfortunatelly there are some small problems to be straiten out. One of them is the fact that printing with my laser printer (see subject line) is not working.
for the last couple of days I was searching through all post I could find around on the internet, mainly here at the Arch forum. Unfortunatelly I could not find anything nearly describing what I am living on my system. Well here is a brief description of what is happening. After installing Arch, I opted for KDE desktop environment and I made the full instalation. After installing additional software (gimp, inkskape, etc.) I needed to install my printer. At first I couldn't get permission. Than reading the Arch tutorial for CUPS, I saw that the 'lp' permission was not setup properly. Well Have done as described there. Then I tryed to install using the GUI from KDE for installing an usb printer and for my surprise there was not such an option. I intalled than de hp-toolbox, and than it was easy to install the printer. It was automatically recognized and everything was there. The problem was, when I open an archive (text, web page, doesn't matter) and send it to print, the spooler went well theoretically sent to printer and then popped up a notification saying printing finished. Opening the printing cue, I can see that the archive was still there and marked as pending. That was the point where I started to search around for potential solutions or similar solutions.
    After sudying a lot I came to a conclusions that it probably have something to do with permissions. Unfortunately I could not find out where or which permissions to change in order to get something printed. I found some "debugging" and information commands and I am posting the results here;

    OK here am I again.
as mentioned before I created an bogus printer with:
    lpadmin -p test -v file:/dev/null
    verified the presence of the printer;
    lpstat -p
    $ lpstat -p
    printer Color_LaserJet_cp1515n disabled since Fri 01 Feb 2013 02:55:59 PM BRST -
            reason unknown
printer hp930c is idle.  enabled since Thu 31 Jan 2013 11:30:21 PM BRST
printer test is idle.  enabled since Fri 01 Feb 2013 02:54:57 PM BRST
At first "test" printer was disabled for an uknown reason.
tried to use lpadmin -p test to enable the printer as described on the previusly mentioned web site, but couldn't get to enable printer "test". After reading alittle more on the internet I found the command cupsenable <printer> and indeed it changed the printer status.
    tried to print;
echo test | lp -d test
    result:
    $ echo test | lp -d test
lp: Destination "test" is not accepting jobs.
I tried to change the condition of the Color laser printer but did not made any difference with the cups command.
Conclusion: how can I modify this status to make the printer accept jobs?

  • HP Color LaserJet CP1515n - Out of alignment, ghosting or blurred image.

    Dear Sir/Madam,
I hope someone, possibly a member of HP staff is able to provide a solution for a problem with a Color LaserJet CP1515n printer, which has being asked quite a number of times, without a satisfactory solution, other than to replace the rather expensive toner cartridges, even if they are still usable for months after the page count is gone to zero. Where is the sense for the protection of our environment in that, having to replace near full cartridges??? I purchase only original and genuine HP cartridges, but I refuse to discard a near full unit, simply because the counter says so.
Now to the issue at hand:
    Printer: HP CP1515n, model CC377A
    Firmware: date code 20080813
    Operating system Windows 7 Professional
Printer used as a shared network printer and runs daily through the calibration routine when switched on.
Issue present with all connected PC's, also running Windows 7.
Problem: Currently it is impossible to print pages without a blurred edge on the right hand side of an A4 page. Alignment appears to be correct on the left hand side of the page. Was able to print Diagnostics Pages ( two), which shows a parameter settings matrix from 01 to 27 and A to X and there is also a second page with a large number of squares in colors, which also show the mis-alignment.
As the "ToolboxFX" program, which is mentioned numerous times in the support pages, is not supported in Windows 7 anymore, the user has to make do with the web interface of the printer, which allows for a range of settings as well. I assume this web interface does not support the adjustment all settings on the printer.
From the diagnostics page, I assume it might be possible to adjust the parameters set out in the parameters matrix, shown in the middle of the page. I would like to know, how can this be done or at least re-set, as I think these parameters show how askew the image is printing?
I might be wrong, but I'm not convinced this mis-alignment issue is simply down to the cartridges.
Looking forward to a reply or any suggestions.
    Thank you very much.

Thanks for letting me know James_LAG.

  • Network shared variables lose binding

    Hello,
I am developing an application in LabVIEW that uses network shared variables to transmit data between two PC's on the same subnet. The shared variables work fine when running the VI's in development mode, however, when i build the vi's into an executable I find that they no longer work. Here is what I have found so far:
I deploy the shared variable library on the publisher machine (also happens to be the development machine) through an invoke node in the executable. NI distributed system manager confirms that this does deploy and indeed updates as it should.
For the executable on the subscriber PC I created a second shared variable library (same project) with the same shared variables and bound them to the respective shared variables from the first library by selecting enable aliasing, then bind to PSP URL and browsing to the shared variable I wish to bind it to (e.g. \\hallnet-ellm2\shared variable library\serial Number). The machines listed under browse were listed by name so when I tried this initially and it did not work I manually changed the name of my machine in the URL box to the IP address of the publisher hoping that would fix it in case the subscriber could not resolve the publishers machine alias. So now my bind URL read \\192.168.0.1\shared variable library\serial Number.
As part of the executable on the subscriber I deploy this second shared variable library. NI distributed system manager confirms that this deploys but under quality for an individual variable it has a list of issues (see attached) and the bound variable is not updating. At this point the publisher shared variables are still functioning fine. By clicking on 'edit variable' I can see that the variable on the subscriber is still bound but the PSP URL is now \\localhost\shared variable library\serial number. Changing the PSP URL on the subscriber to \\192.168.0.1\shared variable library\serial number enables the variable to update as expected. However by this time my executable has already picked up the error and does not function.
I think that the issue lies with the bind URL used on the subscriber as for some reason it does not keep the binding configured in the project and instead changes to 'localhost'. Why is this? Should it not stay bound to the address specified in the project?
I have tried changing the IP addresses in the aliases file so that
    [My Computer]
    My Computer=localhost
    becomes
    [My Computer]
    My Computer=ip of local machine
    This did not help.
The shared variable libraries are included in the build spec to go into the support files directory and they are successfully deployed from there on both publisher and subscriber.
I am using LabVIEW 8.6 on Windows XP
Thanks for any help you may be able to offer,
    Lee

    Hi Lee,
I hope you are well.  Thank you for your post.  Your application sounds very interesting.
Looking at your issue I was wondering, have you tried lowering your firewalls, as this may be causing the problem.
Also, another option would be to setup a private network.  Do you have access to any routers that you could use to link the two machines independent of your IT's infrastructure?
The other thing to try is two other computers entirely.  Again, it would be ideal to take them off the network you are on, but it's something to try if my prior suggestion doesn't work.  It should work on the original two machines though, and it's likely that different computers won't solve your problems because I suspect the network.
Remember that the client variables must know the location of the variables on the server, so you can't move the server exe around without changing this value.
Make sure to set the network location in the "Bind to Source" option for the client variables.
It is also possible to write a separate piece of code to install on every machine that is responsible for deploying the library and by doing so eliminate the need for programmatically deploying the variables in the original application.  However, this won't really help you, because the variables you use in the application have to be the same as the ones deployed in the library, so if you change the library, they'll no longer be linked and they won't receive data.  You'd have to create a separate exe for every binding source you wanted to link to, and then have a second, known library for the sake of communication locally on the computer between the ‘deployer’ and the actual application.  The main application could then be assigned the responsibility of launching the correct ‘deployer’' if it sees it needs to switch to a different variable binding source.  This method is not the most streamlined or effective, but it might work.
Just to let you know, you will need to use the DSC toolkit.
Please find below some knowledge base links that I think you will find helpful in your application.
    Using Shared Variables in Executables
How do I Programmatically Change the Data Binding Source for Shared Variables?
I hope this information helps and if you can give these suggestions a go and let me know how you get on, that would be great.

  • Printer Drivers for HP LaserJet CP1515N using Windows 7 64 bit

I am repeating the message as it is shown as solve below and this is not correct.
I am trying to find drivers for the HP LaserJet  CP1515N that work for network printing. The HP site shows drivers are available but when you try to load them it shows a N/A message. The universal driver offered works for the printer via a usb cable but nor though a local network.

    Hi:
The HP support pages are not working which is part of the problem.
These ethernet and usb 3 drivers should work for you...

Wireless...I don't know what model WLAN card your model has, so please do the following steps so I can figure that out and I will then post the link to the driver you need...
Go to the device manager and there should be a device labeled Network Controller if the wireless driver is not installed.
Click on the Network Controller device and then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller window.
Now you should see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that list and select the second item (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters you see in the window.

  • Problem with Lion 10.7.3 with hp laserjet 3600n network  printer

    Hi
Problem with Lion 10.7.3 with hp laserjet 3600n network  printer
Guys i am having a mad day with this new OS and some network printer none of them work with new LION,The software for this printer is currently unavaliable. Please contact the printers manufacturer for the latest software, i need the drivers for this, please give a hand with this issue
    Best Regards

Exactly the same infuriating problem we and many others get with OS X from 10.6 on when Apple dropped Apple Talk.
Having spent days fighting to get drivers that will run our older laser printers like HP5000, 5100, 2100, 2200 and 4MV, we came up with a simple solution:
We use an iMac running 10.5.8 as a print server. All the 10.6 upwards Macs on the same network will see and add the printers immediately through the shared older (Apple Talk) iMac.
Cheapest and simplest option really .... it'sannoying that a brand new Mac can no longer see existing network printers without complex investigation and trying various downloads.
Answer is simple and cheap if you happen to own a 4 or 5 year old Mac with an OS lower than 10.6 which still has Apple Talk.

  • Trouble Printing Multiple Pages in Quick Succession - LaserJet P4015x - Networked Printer

    Hi,
We are currently experiencing problems printing multiple pages in quick succession. We use a bespoke Microsoft Access Database to run our Sales Order Processing. As part of this software we print 3 part invoices, credit notes etc on different coloured paper. We do this by printing to different printer trays. Originally we tried automating the printer tray configuration through VBA code using one report and changing the print tray as part of the print process but were having problems with Microsoft Access freezing. As result we have resorted to printing 3 different reports straight after each other (using VBA code) but with each report specified to print from a different tray.
    We are current using tray 2 (500 sheet feeder - standard A4 paper), tray 3 (500 sheet feeder - standard A4 paper) & tray 4 (500 sheet feeder - standard A4 paper).
The current setup does print a copy from each tray and does give us what we want apart from the whole print process being very slow.
The first page comes out from tray 2 at the normal speed you would expect from a network printer but then we start to have issues.
Sometimes the second page from tray 3 will come out quickly but the third page (from tray 4) will be very slow or both pages 2 & 3 will be slow to print. There seems to be no pattern as to why these are slow. To make matters even worse sometimes it will print correctly and all three pages come out in very quick succession (although rarely).
We are using modern PC's (running Windows XP SP 3 with 2GB RAM & 160GB HDD) and the print command is definately being sent to the printer in quick succession - as far as I can tell. I have tried to setting the printers to print through  the server and setting them up to print directly to the printer using the built in print server in P4015x.
The printers are networked to a Windows SBS 2008 server with quad core processors and 16GB RAM.  The server is only used as a file and print server and is not under heavy load.
I will also point out that I have tried printing to another HP printer (4250dtn) and it has exactly the same problems.
I have removed advanced printing features from the printer driver setup on the client PC's but it does not seem to make any difference. I have also tried printing directly to the printer rather than spooling.
I have updated the drivers to the latest one on the HP website and still no change.
I would appreciate any ideas any one might have to sort the problem out.

    Did you ever solve this?
I'm doing the exact same thing: three print outs in succession to a specific tray on a network shared printer and occasionally getting a MS Access printing error 2212 counldn't print you object.  Printer setup is saved with the reports one for each printer tray.
I'm printing from bespoke MS Access 2002 application using runtime to HP LJ 4100 on Citrix terminal server session.
Any info you have would be appreciated.

  • Network shared variables reconnecting network dropout

I've got a cRIO unit communicating with a Laptop using Network Shared Variables, with one of them being a 21 index array that is buffered.
The system connects and communicates fine, but occassionally the wireless card in the laptop is losing the signal from the WAP attached to the cRIO.
When this happens the Network Shared Variables never "reconnect" and start receiving values again once the Wireless link is restored.  Is this an expected behavior?
When I tried using another industrial WAP instead of the laptop wireless card I do not get the drop-outs.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello Ryan,
    Thank you for contacting National
Instruments!  I have looked into the issue you are experiencing and
wanted to ask you a few more questions.  First of all, do you have a
time frame in which you allow for the reconnect?  I believe that the
Shared Variables should regain connection after a short period but it
will not necessarily be a very quick process.  It may take a few
minutes for the Shared Variables to reconnect.
    The other
thing that may be happening is if you have error wires being passed
through the Shared Variables, it is possible that the error is not
being cleared and so it will always see the error and therefore never
reconnect.  In this case you will have to filter this error out and
then clear the error in order to utilize the shared variables again.
     If
you have any more specific information about your program that may help
us determine the reason for this behavior.  Also a screenshot of your
code would also be helpful.  Please let me know if you have any further
questions and I will be happy to assist you.  I hope this helps!
    Thanks!

We have shared mounted drives in AIX Fusion that we can pull files from and copy to the mac, however we can not copy files from the mac to the drives.
“Error in user parameter list (-50)” With MS DOS-Formatted Volume.”
The drives are mapped on the mac using SMB. We can go to the files on the mac and use “save as” and this works and saves them on the shared drives.
We can not drag and copy them to the shared drives. Every time it fails and we get the above error. We can create folders but not move any files.
When we look up the error, it is referring to certain characters that can but used in a Max OS X filename and are not allowed in MS-DOS filenames. We are not using any of the characters not allowed.
The drives have all the basic set up in AIX, RWC. All the PC's we have can drag files to and from all our shared drives.

Either install software which enables the Mac to write to NTFS drives, or MacDrive on the PC, or reformat any drives you'll be using to share files between the computers as either FAT32 or exFAT.

    Hi,
If its a shared folder on windows drive with access permission to all, you might get your work done using simple GUI_UPLOAD.
Have you checked this. Just a thought.
    thnx,

  • Print to a Laserjet 4050 networked on an XP machine from my iPad

How can I print to a Laserjet 4050 networked on an XP machine from my  iPad?  Can I use the AIO app?  does not find the printer.  Thanks.

    @Mojo-Risin
If I understand your question, you would like to use the AiO remote app on your iPad with your Laserjet 4050, correct? If this is case, unfortunately, the AiO remote app is not supported with the Laserjet 4050 and the iPad.
    Thank you.

  • Can't add users' home folders to Windows Libraries - "unindexed network location" error

I am unable to add our users' home folders to their Windows Libraries on client PCs.  Windows is giving an unindexed network location error.
This worked perfectly fine in WHS 2011, but is failing on WSE 2012 R2 Essentials.
I've checked the indexing settings on the server, and the correct locations are in fact being indexed.
Since several of our clients have limited local storage, I can't solve this by turning on Offline Files.
Is this behavior by design, or am I seeing a bug?
I'm guessing that on WHS 2011 the user folders are special-cased somehow, as normally one would need to include the share root in a library for federated indexing to work correctly.  What is it about WHS 2011 that makes this work, and is it possible
to replicate these settings on our WSE 2012 R2 server?
    Thank you.

No, our clients are not domain joined.
To clarify, I'm not trying to redirect local folders, but rather to add the (automatically provisioned) user folder on the server to local libraries.  Federated search does support this scenario in WHS, so I assume it should work in WSE.
Trying to understand why I'm seeing the error.  Thanks.

  • Distributed application: Networked Shared Variables, Named Services (Raw TCP/IP) or Other?

    Happy New Year NI forums!
I am working on a project involving mobile interacting robots. In the future it is likely the application's components may need to run on different PCs (Targets). Note: at this point in time all the components are seperate but all running on the localhost machine. Thinking towards the future I want to pick the 'best' architecture to allow all these components (VIs performing various functions) in multiple locations. For example, several VIs on the Robots, VIs on serveral PCs.
I am  currently aware of using Server/Client TCP/IP using named services. My mock up works well, but is it time efficient (my time coding) I wonder.. ?
Whereas I am aware of networked shared variables which handle connections and all the parsing for the underlying tcp/ip communication. But will this be difficult the manage? I am unsure if I can associate shared variables with a VI similar to named services. I suppose I could pro grammatically create the variable upon initialization of the server component - and the client could just search the list of avaiaible variables to connect too. Downside this would require DSC module.
As you can see, I am rather unsure. Any advice would be great!

    Hi Jason,
Thanks for your reply. I hope your enjoying NI UK as much as I did.. fun times!
I have seen the link you posted a few times before. But today, I took a better look at it.
My issue is I need several multi-client severs, i.e. many servers which allow multiple clients to connect to them.
Now the STM does have an example of this - STM mutli-client Example - Server.vi (used with the STM mutli-client.vi)
However, when a make copies of these code (to have my second server) - it refuses to run. As in , it just stops itself.
I DID change the port number, on the lister aspect of the server code. But I Am unsure what else I would need to change to get this setup to work?
One thought I had was, the FIFOs all having the same name - this probably isn't a good idea between servers.
    Any suggestions would be grateful!
*please could you provide me email support
