Hello,
I see that you are having problems printing over the network to your printer.  Could you provide more information around your network setup?  For example, are the PC and the Printer connected to the same router... or the same network?  Any detailed information about your network setup would be very helpful.
It looks like there is another support thread discussing the same or similar issue:

  • Default paper size scanning problem, LaserJet M1120n MFP

Hi, I just got a used LaserJet M1120n MFP. Installed the most up-to-date drivers form HP's website. Printing is fine over USB or LAN, however the WIA scanning driver defaults to paper size "Letter" and I can't scan A4 pages all the way. The bottom is always cut off and I get an unwanted strip besides the scanned document. Please, advise how to change the default paper size of the WIA driver to A4. I use Windows XP Pro. Looked everywhere but cannot find any settings that will allow me to change the default paper size. Any ideas?
I have been thinking, could default paper size be somehow be tied to system locale? My locale is European and all other device drivers do default to A4. I wonder how the WIA scanning driver chose to default to Letter size.
The TWAIN driver works fine (I can choose default paper size), though it is less intuitive than I expected. Too bad I can't use it over a LAN. Is there a way to calibrate the scanner for white as the background seems kind of dark?
Your suggestions and ideas are most appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for the reply, Spencer. I have used Adobe Acrobat to scan by means of the WIA driver, but when I do so the paper size selection box is dimmed (inactive) and I can't choose any paper size (nor any is preselected). I have also used Win XP's native Scanner and Camera Wizzard; it doesn't even have a paper size setting. Then I have used it with Win 7's native Windows Fax and Scan; no paper size setting here either.
Here is a useful thread on the same issue from Adobe's forum: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/844549
Reading around the forums I came across several posts where people discussed the impossibiity to set paper size when scanning using the WIA driver. Their problem was a bit different, though. The WIA driver had locked to size 'Legal' while they needed to scan in size 'Letter'.
The WIA interface was developed by Microsoft and here is what they have to say about the issue:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff548440%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
    'Supported Scanner Paper Sizes
Although two WIA user interface components are able to display a list of page sizes to the user, there is no easy way for a WIA driver to know which page sizes a scanner supports.
    Page Size in WIA Applications
There are no WIA properties that allow WIA drivers to report supported page sizes or that allow applications to specify page size directly. To communicate page size settings to a driver, an application must calculate the required size in dots per inch (dpi) and adjust the origin of the scan to conform with the registration requirements of the device.
Page Size in the Common Scanner Dialog and in the Scanner and Camera Wizard
Both the Common Scanner Dialog and the Scanner and Camera Wizard have a static table of supported page sizes in which each page size is described by its horizontal width and vertical height, both in increments of 0.001 inch. These page sizes are currently displayed only when the scanner is in document feeder mode.
The largest page size (by area) that a driver supports in page feed mode, as determined by the maximum bed size, is considered the default page size. Paper sizes that do not fit on the feeder or on the bed of the device are not offered to the user.'  -- exactly my case!
Having tried the same WIA driver (developed by HP in this case) on several PC's running different WIndows OS and using non-US locale settings, I have came to the conclusion that HP may have hard coded the Letter paper size in the driver. I guess this works for North America but not in Europe where A4 is the standard size.
I guess I have to look into ways to get to that hard coded paper size setting in order to be able to make use of the driver. I don't even know if that will be possible but I'll keep on reading. Wish me luck

  • HP LaserJet M1120n MFP latest drivers for 64-bit Windows 7

I can't get my HP LaserJet M1120n MFP to work with  64-bit Windows 7. I downloaded and installed the drivers from HP site, file named ljM1120-hb-pnp-win64-el.exe and scan doesn't work, can only print Word documents. Downloaded and run check with the HP Doctor program you strongly recommend, but the ! report says I must download and install the most recent driver....well, it was what I thought was what I would get from HP site. Thanks for help!

    Hi Lollo33,
The only 64 bit drivers available for your printer are the basic print and scan drivers which do not include any additional scan software.  However, there is full solution driver support for Windows 7 32bit.

  • Scan Feature on Laserjet M1120n MFP

HI, I have a  Laserjet M1120n MFP and have just recently installed windows 7 on my pc which formerly had xp.  After installing the full driver pack from the hp website the printer works fine except for the scan to feature which behaves irratically. I have it set to scan to pdf which is how it was set before but when i go to scan multiple pages it sometimes comes out as just the first page, sometimes 2 instead of three and sometimes has two pages but they are both the first page.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

  • LaserJet M1120n MFP - Problems with printing over Wireless Network.

Hi. I have recently purchased a HP M1120n MFP printer.  There are three wireless laptops (Vista, & XP Pro) that use this printer via a DrayTek Vigor 27000GE wireless router, then via cat 5 cable to Ethernet on printer.
All three laptops can print, but sometimes the print queue backs ups.  The top print job will say "Printing" but it can say this for hours!  Then if I delete the print job, it will say "Deleting" - but nothing happens.  The only way to clear it is to reboot the laptop.
    Firmware datecode is 20080228.
If I connect via USB cable directly to the printer it works correctly.
Any ideas to help resolve this frustrating problem?

The bottomline is that this printer has no way of connecting other than a straight USB connection.   In order to make it wireless you have to have a device that will give it an network IP address.  The printer by itself can not do this.
The only way to get this printer on a network is to buy a SEPERATE USB Printer Server.   Or, buy a separate router, like I said, that has a USB connection on the back that will support printers.
You can not connect it the way you want as it stands right now.
However, call your ISP and have them set it up IF their Gateway device has a USB connection and really can support a printer.  It is their issue.

  • HP laserjet M1120n MFP printer not functioning properly with Lion

After installing this printer it will scan but with some flaws in the scanned image and it will not print at all.
All that it displays is that there is an error after attempting to print. I'm wondering if there is some special driver that I need?
The printer is about 4yrs old.
    Thank you

Your printer should be supported in Lion. Check to make sure you have the latest drivers installed. Make sure the driver for it is selected in the printer list.
You might try deleting the printer and reading it once the latest driver and software is installed.

Hi, i've installed HP LASERJET M1132 MFP in my PC with windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and it works fine. The situation is a bit different than the picture. Windows Server 2008 R2 is available through the WAN. LAN is plugged into the PC-1, PC-2 and Konica Minolta printer. HP LaserJet M1120n MFP is connected via USB to the PC-1. OKI ML 3320 printer is connected via LPT also to the PC-1. PC-1 has access to Konica Minolta printer via the LAN. PC-2 also has access to Konica Minolta printer via the LAN. PC-2 is also available for PC-1 HP and OKI.
It seems to me that I found the explanation for the printing problems - some of "my" printers are simply not compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2. I found on the net the following information:

    Hi,
I have a HP LaserJet M1132 MFP (product number CE847A) connected to a PC (MS Windows XP Home Edition + SP3) via USB. There is no problem with the printer. However, when the connection using Remote Desktop (it's set to use local facilities and resources, or in my case, printers, and serial ports) to the server (MS Windows Server 2008 R2), I can not even print a test page from a remote desktop.
Error message: "Print a test page failed. Do you want to display a tool to solve problems with printing to get help?"
But it does not lead to nowhere, as expected is access to the internet, and I have not it from a MS Windows Server 2008 R2.
The same error is for the HP LaserJet M1120n MFP.
I have installed on my PC other printer - old OKI ML321 (needle) connected to a PC using LPT cable and network printer Konica Minolta 1690MF (in another room). In both of these printers can easily print a test page from a remote desktop.

  • LaserJet M1120 MFP + Windows 8.1 64bit - cannot find drivers for scanner

I have a new notebook with Windows 8.1  64bit  and a LaserJet M1120 MFP multifunctional. For printing is OK, it found plug and play driver and I am able to print. For scanning, I couldnt find drivers. Please help! Thanks...

    Hello Gabitza,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're unable to find a scanning driver for the Laserjet M1120 MFP. I will do my best to assist you! There isn't a full feature software available, just a plug and play driver. As a workaround, you can use another program to scan a document.
Please follow this HP document on How to Scan: Windows 8. Click on how to scan without HP software and there is four programs to try. Let me know if you are able to scan a document.

  • Connecting to HP LaserJet 5100 printer on Win7, 32bit PC from a Win7, 64bit PC

I'm having a heck a time trying to add a printer that is on another machine. The printer is an HP LaserJet5100 and is connected to a Win7, 32bit pc using a pcl6 driver. The PC I want to add this other printer to is a Win7, 64bit. I went to HP Drivers and downloaded a HP LaserJet 5100 pcl6 driver for Win7, 64bit, and ran it, using traditional mode, on the PC that I'm trying to install a printer to. I chose "Add a network Printer..." and then pick the printer that I want to connect to.   I get a Windows Printer Installation pop up that says "Checking for Windows Update. This might take a while..." and then get another popup that says "No driver found". I then get another pop up to locate the driver. Browsing to the driver files that I just download, I find eleven files of the .inf file type, but none of them are the right file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • 2101nw print server (and LaserJet M1132 MFP) – installation problems on Windows 7 (64bit)

For two years, I've been a happy user of an HP printer (LaserJet M1132 MFP), wirelessly connected to my home network thanks to a HP Wireless G Print Server HP 2101nw.

    And it was a disaster.
After the failure of the first installation ("Installazione non riuscita"), I went through a series of attempts of uninstalling and reinstalling, again and again, by various methods. Uselessly. Even Revo Uninstaller did not help.
Then, looking for information over the web, I read there was a known problem of incompatibility of the print server’s driver with 64-bit environment, and that HP was not going to rewrite it .
