HP LaserJet M1319Ff MFP won't scan

Hey all,
The M1319f isn't a terribly popular all in one model, which is a shame as it used to work great for me. Now with 10.6 however, it won't scan at all. I've tried all the HP workarounds for other models, but they've failed to get this one working.
I can't scan from Image Capture (doesn't see the device), Scan & Fax (no scan capability), or from Preview (nothing happens). Deleting and adding the unit to the printer queue also fails to remedy the situation.
I'm at a loss. Any advice wold be much appreciated.

Currently there is no Scan solution for the M1319f. We're wrapping up the solution testing now and should have it posted soon.
Just trying to help.

  • LaserJet 400 MFP Won't scan - "Device is Busy"

My HP LaserJet 400 MFP refuses to scan either to the network folder I set up, or to a USB drive. It simply displays the message "Device is Busy". I have tried restarting the device, and removing hte network cable, but it continues to display this message. There is nothing in the print queue that I know of. Please help!

I have a problem with my scan to folder as well and I have to access the folder from a computer before it will work.  I'm not sure why that works, actually.  You might want to give that a try to see if it fixes the problem.  If it does, I imagine it is some sort of security problem with the folder you are trying to scan to.

  • Laserjet 4345 mfp won't scan to folder; web interface not showing all admin tabs

    Hi,
I have a laserjet 4345 mfp which, until a few days ago, was able to scan documents to a network folder. When I try now it gives me the error "the path cannot be found". Here's what I've tried so far:
    - Looked for a way to change the network folder settings or define a new folder. I couldn't find any so I printed the "how to scan to folder" page from the control panel. It tells me to define a new location by clicking the "Other" button on the control panel, but I can't find an Other button, on any screen.
    - Accessed the web interface, which only shows up  with the "Home" and "Networking" tabs - no "Digital Sending", "Settings", or  "Information" tabs, which should be there according to the manual.
    - Thinking it might be a permissions issue, I checked and found that the administrator password was not set. I set the admin password via the web interface, and now when I try to access it prompts for the password I defined, but still gives this incomplete interface. I am also able to access and change all the networking settings, so I don't think insufficient permissions are the issue.
    - Called HP support, they said the problem is permissions and I should cold reset the machine, which I am quite reluctant to do since not only all settings, but the entire address book as well, would need to be re-entered. This aside from the fact that I really don't think permissions are the issue, as decribed above.
    - Verified that I am able to send scans to different email addresses. SMTP gateway test goes through OK. LDAP does not, but this has not prevented scan to folder from working in the past.
I don't know how the scan-to folder was initially set up because I wasn't supporting this client at the time.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks in advance.

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw cannot scan or copy

My HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw cannot scan or copy. Screen on the printer just show calibrating only
Bsically an't scan or copy, the printer is just showing a message on the display of "calibrating".
    Thank you for help

Hi @Ern88 , I can help you with not being able to scan or copy. The printer is showing that it is stuck calibrating.
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Try to make a copy again.

  • HP laserjet m1536dnf mfp print and scan is very slow

    Hi Sir/Madam,
HP laserjet m1536dnf mfp print and scan is printing and scanning slow on network. Sometimes scan is not work. That's why I have to reinstall the printer driver. So how to increase print speed?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi riz1_4444,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand the printer is printing and scanning slow on the network.
I will be happy to help you.
Make sure printer is connected directly to a wall outlet.
Try printing a hardware test on the printer to see if it prints slow or not.
Printing a Configuration Report. Select Method one: Print a Configuration Report from the printer control panel.
I would restart the router to see if this will resolve the issue.
    Try another Ethernet cable.
If you are still having issue then test the printer by connecting the printer to the computer by a USB cable to see if it is something on the network that is causing it to slow down.
Hope this resolves your issue for printing slow over the network.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Hp laserjet 400 mfp can't scan, i lost the installation cd

    Hello,
    i have a hp laserjet 400 mfp and i can't scan.
I have Windows 7 and the printer works just fine with the W7 software, but the scan option is not available, because the software installs only the printer, not the scanner.
I lost the installation cd and the installation software from hp support only install the printer , not the scanning option. Please help.
I also tried the e-mail scanning software from hp, but i don't know if it works , because i don;t know how to set the settings.
    Thank you.

Hi, thank you for your answer. I tried with the full software you gave me in your link, but it was no good, because my printer is a Laserjet 4100 MFP, and the software was asking for an usb device, wich my printer is not...
I don't need the driver for the printer, i have that driver, but that driver sees the MFP like a simple printer, without scanner, so, the scanner remains usefull. I need the full software or the CD.
I don't receive an error, i just need the full software for Laserjet 4100 MFP. I didn't find it on HP's website, unfortunately and i don't have the installation CD anymore, cause i lost it....
    Thank you.

  • Mac OS 10.7 to HP M1536dnf MFP won't scan or AirPrint. SOLUTION

I'm not an IT type, but am posting this in case it helps someone else. Three hours of head-banging to solve this one.
Maybe simple for the IT fluent, but it appears many struggle with this issue.
Just purchased HP LaserJet M1536dnf Multi Funtion Printer (Print/Copy/Scan/Fax). This model does not have WiFi.
Directions say USB or network cable. I had MacBook Pro running OS10.7 via wireless to AirPort Extreme connected to HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP via USB printer cable. Firmware and Drivers updated. Apple software updated. Regular printer function worked fine. However, MFP not seen by Preview, Print & Scan or AirPrint. Added Ethernet cable, everything works fine.
    TO ENABLE SCANNING AND AIRPRINT:
    1) UPDATE FIRMWARE (HP WEBSITE). You need the latest (Aug 2013) for AirPrint.
    2) UPDATE DRIVER (HP WEBSITE). The disc in the box is only good thru 10.6.
    3) UPDATE APPLE SOFTWARE (APPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE). Always a good idea.
    3) CONNECT PRINTER TO ROUTER WITH ETHERNET (LAN/CAT5e) CABLE. Scanning and AirPrint require it.
    4) USB PRINTER CABLE STILL REQUIRED FOR LAPTOP PRINTING. Maybe not depending on your configuration.
It appears that the USB printer cable is a one-way pipe. Network cable is required for scanning or AirPrint.
As usual, HP instructions and support lacking for Mac applications.
This may help on other HP models that are supposedly Mac friendly and AirPrint capable.
Always looking to learn something new. Input welcome.

    Dear cblins,
Here you have the full software to install your multifunction:

  • Hp laserjet pro cm1415fnw won't scan WIA error.

We  just got a hp laserjet pro cm1415fnw, it manages to print, but unfortunately it won't scan. We set it up to be wireless since it will be used by various users. When I run the HP printer and scan dr. it says that there's a WIA error. I tried uninstallin and reinstalling all the drivers and software, as the HPPSdr reccommended, nothing happened. I went into the forums and checked the services that needed to be running in order for the scan to work. All the services were up, but still it won't scan. I'm running out of options here with this device. If  anyone could please give me some advice on how to fix the scanning issue I will be extremely grateful.

    Hi @sil89,
I understand that you are unable to scan, but you can print over the wireless network. I can help you.
Can you scan from any of the other networked computers?
Are you signed is a the Administrator of that computer?
WIA drivers are part of Windows Operating System.

I have provided this document, just to make sure these are the same ones you had checked.
This document is to Check the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) services.

    Disregard the title.
Go to Solution three: Check the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) services.
Temporarily turn of the Antivirus Software and try scanning again.
If the issue persists, download and try to repair the WIA drivers. If you don't feel comfortable about doing these steps, you can contact the computer manufacturer or Microsoft to resolve this WIA error.

  • HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw Direct Scanning

Please provide me support how can I scan document to network folder by using touch key pad on this HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw device. I found only 3 options, copy , fax , application. There is no option to add scan to pc or scan to network. Is this possible to add this option in touch screen ? Thanks.

    Hi @HP-Mtn ,
I see by your post that you want to know if the printer can scan to a network folder from the display. I would like to help.
This model doesn't have the option to scan from the printer directly or to a network folder.
You will have to install the printer software on the computer to be able to scan.
I have provided a document for how to scan through the HP software.
Just select your operating system from the list. Scan.
If there is anything else that I can help you with just let me know.

  • HP Laserjet M1005 MFP won't work with a DLINK DPR-2000 Print server.

I have an HP Laserjet M1005 MFP and am trying to connect it to a DLINK DPR-2000 Print server.  After the setup no matter what I do the Laserjet shows up as offline on the print server.  The print server recognises it as the correct model it's just always offline aned hence I can get nothing to print.
I have done the latest firmware upgrade on the printer to 20120910.
    Any ideas?

Sounds like you are having an issue getting this printer to be recognized fully on the network the print server is set up on. First of all, what all can you tell me about the network environment it is operating on? I would suggest that you try installing the PL6 drivers fro this laserjet after removing the original software and see if that gives you greater control over the machine and its functions :

  • HP Color Laserjet CM 1312 MFP / Won't Scan!

    Hi guys,
I have been on the phone to HP for days they are blaming my computer but really it doesn't sound right... Brand new iMac, and a brand new CM1312... I have plugged it directly into the back of the computer via the USB the computer sees it and there is no problem with printing... BUT using the HP Scanner software it cannot see the printer via USB... I used the HP Set Up Wizard and when it comes to the screen asking to find the USB or Network printer it can't see it under USB, EVEN THOUGH IT PRINTS VIA USB... Has anyone had this issue before? Am I better off using an ethernet cord?

    Hello Tom:
I do not have the same printer, so I am fishing a bit.
I have read here that all-in-one devices only print when using the built-in OS X drivers. Those with that particular problem have had some success by doing what you have tried - namely installing the manufacturer's software.
You might try uninstalling the printer, and then starting over with HP's software.
My own printer is Ethernet-connected, but I do that so it is available on my little home network. candidly, I prefer Ethernet connections over USB, but that is a personal preference, not an indictment of USB.

  • HP laserjet pro n1212mf won't scan

I installed this printer over a network on my Macbook using the HP supplied CD when I was running OS X Lion.  I have upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion and I am unable to scan.  I have done Apple Software Updates.  When I open HP Scan it reports no scanner.  When I open Preview, scanning is grayed out.  Can anyone help?  Thanks in advance.

Following Rajat's post, I decided to dig deeper into this printer support issue for the LJ Pro m1212nf printer.
Again, I scanned backwards and forwards through the Oct. 2012 Apple update, HP Printer Drivers v2.12 for OS X, and did not find the m1212nf printer in the list of currently supported printers for Mountain Lion. Just in case I missed it the first and second time through.
The software that Rajat suggests is universal binary (PPC/Intel) that was released in early June 2012 and was for OX 10.6 and OS X 10.7 support. There is no indication that HP tested it against Mountain Lion, and in fact, despite what HP says below, the printer no longer appears supported in Mountain Lion per HP documentation below.
HP suggests that if this printer was installed and working with Snow Leopard or Lion, that during the upgrade process to Mountain Lion, the driver would be automatically updated and the printer would work with Mountain Lion too. Yet, by October 2012, there is no explicit HP driver support for the m1212nf printer on their site, or through HP printer updates supplied via Apple, for Mountain Lion. No doubt, there is temptation to install the old driver support. If it causes your system to crash dump, uninstalling it will be a PITA.
See this link, “Installing the printer on a Mac running OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion (Network Connections Only). On that page, there is an expandable section entitled, “Is my printer supported in OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.” When expanded, it produces another link to HP Printers supported in Mac OS X 10.6, OS X 10.7, and OS X 10.8. On that page, expand the category, HP LaserJet color printers and All-In-Ones. Even though you are presently on an HP Customer Care page for the M1212nf printer, HP indicates that this printer is not among the supported printers in Mountain Lion. In fact, support begins with the M1217mfw series!
The best metaphor for HP these days is a dyslexic dog chasing its tail.
I haven't changed my position. Originally, I could have sent you a link to the same outdated driver download, without all this extra investigation. I felt you deserved better, factual guidance.
I still use an HP Laserjet 4M Plus that I purchased new in 1994. Cost $2400. Still driver support for it in Mountain Lion. Still no problems with the printer. It was made for HP by Canon. When it is time to replace this printer, HP will not make the short list.

  • HP laserjet cm1312 MFP doesn't scan

I have almost completed the installation of my new multifunction printer from HP and it prints and copies beautifully, but it doesn't scan. When I get to the point of the setup where I choose either USB or Network connection it doesn't show the printer when I choose USB. It's weird since it can already print... I've downloaded and installed the newest drivers and updates from both HP and Apple but it still doesn't find/list the printer when I attempt to set it up.
I'm really lost, so I'm hoping someone has an answer to my problem!

    Hello,
this is a known issue with the old software solution. Please use the most recent version (at least 1.5.3). You can get it here.

  • HP LaserJet Pro MFP M521 and searchable PDF

Dear All, Does anyone know if the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M521 can scan to a searchable PDF(OCR)? I can't find that option anywhere (I read somewhere that this was a feature), would this be an optional component/license? Thanks in advance. Regards,Pardeep Saini

OCR is a proprietary function offered by some but not all HP products.  The printer would need to be licensed in order to create an OCR from scratch if it cannot already do so. User Guide has a small section on the OCR capabilities of this printer on page 107:http://content.etilize.com/User-Manual/1024547645.pdf Work around would be to purchase Adobe OCR products and then republish the original PDFs with OCR.
