"HP LaserJet MFP M225dw fax"

I am using an HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw. My Paper is being wasted by fax confirmation reports with "0 pages and no fax detected."  The fax type is "recieve."
I tried adjusting the settings and I am allowed to block faxes but it requires a phone number. Since the fax log shows no identification, there is no number to block.
Please help.

Problem solved. Thank you.

  • Color LaserJet MFP M476nw Fax Test failed

I bought a new LaserJet M476nw, but my fax test fails everytime through the laserjet setup and HP utilities software.  The Laserjet is connected on a network and using Vista.
I have a dedicated fax line connected from the jack to the icon with the jack on the back of the laserjet.   I can hear dial tone on the fax line when connected to a phone.   I have called the fax line and it is rings normally and no answer.   I also tried connecting a phone to the laserjet phone icon, while the fax line is connected to the laserJet, I can hear the dial tone from the phone.
I do not know what else I should do to get the fax test to pass, so I can start faxing on this new machine.  Any suggestion is appreciated.

My new LaserJet Pro M225dw can send faxes but not receive. I have seen other posts on this forum regarding this issue but none of the answers have resolved my issue. Hey ,  Welcome to the HP Support Forum.  I understand you're unable to receive faxes on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw.  I would like to assist you with this.   Thanks for the comprehensive run-down on your setup - that helps a lot.  With cable internet connections sometimes a filter is required for the fax receiving function to work, yet, I do have some suggestions you can try in troubleshooting the issue.   Firstly, I recommend you adjust your fax speed to slow:  Touch the wrench/Setup buttonSelect Fax SetupSelect Fax SpeedChoose slow(User Guide, p. 129) Additionally, I recommend clicking on your printer's icon on your PC desktop and running the fax test portion of the fax wizard to determine if there's another factor contributing to the receive failure.  You might find this article helpful as well.  Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post. Have a great day,

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw fax to pc

I have just bought this printer and want to msend faxes to my pc.  I was told by PC world that it had this function.  So far I cant find it can anyone help.  Many thanks

Hi ,  I would be happy to help shed some light on the issue your are having with trying to setup this Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw to receive your faxes on your PC.  I have looked into this further for you, and I'm pretty sure this model doesn't support receiving faxes on your PC. You can double check to make sure I haven't missed it in the  COLOR LASERJET PRO MFP M177 User Guide.
I did however locate a different model, where in the manual does provide instructions on how to set this feature up but it is a black only printer. Its the LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw (again black only, no colour.)
Step 5 (Optional): Configure settings for receiving digital faxes (Windows) The product can save incoming digital faxes to a computer folder. Use the HP Digital Fax Setup Wizard to configure the settings. This feature is available only for Windows. 1. Click Start, and then click Programs. 2. Click HP, click the name of the product, and then click Digital Fax Setup Wizard. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure the settings.  HP also has this feature available on it's HP Officejet Pro 8610/8620/8630 e-All-in-One Printers, which are Colour Inkjets. Some of the commerical products also support this feature but I'm unsure of which ones. I would really suggest contacting HP Shopping for more information on these models.  Hopefully this has answered your questions, and please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.   Thanks,

    Hi @Joscelin ,
I see that you are experiencing intermittent issues when scanning to email. I would like to help you out today.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
What email client are you using?
Are you getting a 3 digit error code?
I would setup a Static IP address for the printer and set the DNS, to see if this help resolve this issue.
Print a configuration page to get the printer's IPv4 address.
Go to Setup, Reports, Configuration Report.
Type the IP address into your web browser's address bar, to access the printer's Embedded Web Server.
    Click on the Networking tab.
Select IPv4 Configuration on the left side of the window.
Enter the values from the Configuration Page.
Then on the left side of the window, select Network Configuration and enter the following:
    Preferred DNS Address: 209.244.0.3
    Alternate DNS Address:209.244.0.4
    Apply the settings.
Try and scan to email again.
If you are still having issues, set up the Scan to Email account again. I have provided the manual with the steps to complete this on page 50. LaserJet Pro MFP M225, M226.
    Test the scan to email.
What operating system are you using?

  • LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw driver not available for Mac OS10.4.11

I can print by connecting the printer to the computer with USB connector. But without the driver, the printer is seen by the computer as a generic postscript printer; and the printer's special attributes such as 2-sided printing is not made available. Is there any alternative driver that may be used for this combination, please?

    Hi @ayame ,
I see by your post that you are looking for the drivers for 10.4.11. I would like to help.
Unfortunately the only drivers available from HP are from 10.7 and higher.

    Hi @Biker542,
I understand that you are getting the message "no fax detected". I can help you with this today.
Make sure you are using a 2 wire fax cable.
If you connect a phone to the phone outlet on the wall, do you get a dial tone?
    Can you send a fax?
I have provided a couple of documents with some steps to try to see if that will resolve the issue.

  • HP LaserJet MFP M476dw paper size mismatch when copying or scanning from ADF

We have HP Color LaserJet MFP M476dw that has an issue when copying or scanning from the ADF.
Put a single A4 sheet in the ADF and choose copy, with all settings correct & no resizing, and the output copy is moved down the page (increased top marging by a couple of inches).
My initial thoughts were a paper size issue (e.g. treating A4 as Letter or vice versa) but all settings look correct.  I have even done a reset and started over and the problem remains.
If I take the original and place it on the flatbed and copy from there with all the same settings then it works fine.
There is a similar issue when scanning from the ADF.  Again, scanning from the flatbed works fine.
I've tried all I can think of.  Does anyone have any further suggestions?  Could it be a fault in the ADF?

  • Mac can't see HP Laserjet MFP 225w

Hello , I understand that you're experiencing issues when printing wirelessly from your Mac OS X 10.10 computer to your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw. I would like to assist you today with resolving this wireless printing issue. Because your wife is able to print wirelessly from her Mac system to your printer, I do not think this is a network connectivity issue between your router and printer. Rather, there may be a network conflict between your printer and your Mac OS X 10.10 computer, or a print system conflict occuring. To start troubleshooting I am going to have you confirm with 100% certainty that your printer and computer are communicating over the network. Once we confirm if your computer and printer are communicating we will work towards a resolution. Can I please have you follow the steps below.  Step 1: Check Connectivity: On the front panel of your HP Laserjet touch the down arrow until you see ReportsSelect ReportsSelect Network SummaryOnce the Network Summary Report prints, please take note of the IP Address and Network Name (SSID)On your Mac computer, please check in the top right corner that the Network Name (SSID) on the Mac matches the Network Name (SSID) on the printer exactly. Avoid connecting to 'guest' networks. Also, if you're utilising a dual band router please make sure that the Mac is connected to the 2ghz band and not the 5ghz band. Printers are not supported over 5ghz network connections. If you're not sure how to check the dual band settings for your router you may need to speak with your router manufacturer.Once you have confirmed that your printer and computer are connected to the identical Network Name (SSID) please open up the internet browser on your MacIn the address bar please type in your printers IP Address. Do not include www. Search to this website. A website for your printer will now open.  If a website for your printer fails to open: This indicates that your printer and computer are not communicating over the network. Please do not proceed with troubleshooting at this time. If a website for your printer opens successfully: This proves with 100% certainty that your printer and computer are communicating over the network. Can I please have you follow the steps below to resolve this network discovery and printing issue.   Step 2: Reset the Print System: To start, I am going to have you Reset the Print System on your Mac as it is important that we have a nice clean slate to work with for troubleshooting. Please click here for instructions on how to perform the Reset. When the website opens follow the steps under 'Resetting the printing system in OS X Lion.' This Reset will remove every printer from your Mac. However, it does not uninstall the printers. Hey , Thanks for getting back to me regarding this issue. At this time I am going to have you check the driver that is being utilised by your HP Laserjet on your Mac OS X 10.10 computer. There is a chance that a generic Apple Airprint driver was loaded onto your printer and is preventing you from printing. Can I please have you follow the steps below to confirm that the correct driver is being utilised.
    1. Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences. 2. Click Print & Scan, and then check if the name of your printer displays in the Printers list. 3. Click the name of your printer, click the minus sign (), and then delete the printer.  4. Click the plus sign (), click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer, 5. Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select the name of your printer in the pop-up menu. Ensure that the Laserjet driver is selected and not the Airprint.
      6. Click Add to add the printer to the list.  Once your HP Laserjet has been confirmed as installed with the correct HP driver, please test printing again.  Please let me know if these steps resolve your printing issue. Good luck!

  • HP Color LaserJet MFP M476dn - Impossibly slow ethernet

Win7 - 64 bit on typical small office network setup (Comcast internet, Linksys Router, half computers on wifi, half wired).
Upgraded from terrible old Brother multi-function printer.
We print some files from remote desktop (using redirected printers.. as in, the remote desktop session has the ability to print through our computers to our local printer).
Sometimes the files are large (10-20mb).. and the Brother printer sends it right over in about 1 second.
New HP Color LaserJet MFP M476dn goes as slow as you can imagine.. I can sit a watch the printing dialog box and watch it 256kb........512kb........768kb.......... out of 15mb.
I have tried a bunch of combinations of different drivers (PCL5 etc), link speeds on the printer, RAW processor, Port types, and so on, but can't find the right combination..
I should mention that we are using the exact same ethernet cord as the old Brother printer. Also, the HP is set to a Static IP.
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    Eric

I had this exact problem. I've had the printer for about a month and it was very fast at first. I really like the printer, especially the duplex ability. Over the past week or so it became excruciatingly slow. I just finished downloading the new firmware and drivers but before installing them something made me check the Ethernet cable which is plugged into my Airport Extreme 802.11n Gigabit router. It was loose and partially pulled out so I plugged it back in all the way and the printer went back to printing the way it is supposed to.
You might want to give this a try. Perhaps try another Ethernet cable or direct connection via USB if that doesn't work.

  • HP Color LaserJet MFP M570dw and HP Web Services

    Hi,
I have a HP Color LaserJet MFP M570dw printer and have tried to enable the HP Web Services, but without success.
My printer is configured on a fixed ip-address, with a default gateway and of course with static DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).
Every time when I try to enable the Web Services feature I get the error message "Connection error. Check your internet connection.".
My internet connection is working fine and the printer is able to communicate thru the firewall fine too. When I do some tracing I see the printer communicating to the public ip-address "23.21.172.122" but there is no response comming back. So I assume the problem is external and not related to my internal configuration. I have tested this with a fully opened firewall (allowing all communications from my LAN to the Internet) with exactly the same results. There is no answer comming back from the ip "23.21.172.122".
Also I can't find the HP Color LaserJet MFP M570dw printer in the supported HP ePrint printerlist.
The 400-series is supported, the 500-serie is not mentioned.
But since the webinterface of my HP Color LaserJet MFP M570dw printer is giving me the HP Web Services configuration page, I asumed this type would be supported too...
Does anyone have a clue how to get ePrint working on the HP Color LaserJet MFP M570dw printer?
Is there anyone who got the HP Web Services working on a HP Color LaserJet MFP M570dw printer?
    Kind regards,
    Rene.

    Hi Rene,
Have you tried updating its firmware version?
The latest firmware should improve the web services connectivity and may help resolving such an issue:
    http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdDetails/?sp4ts.oid=5210913&sp...
Also be sure to follow its steps which may help resolving a connection issue:
    • Improvements made for connecting to HP Web Services.
NOTE: After updating from firmware datecode 20121002 to firmware datecode 20121019, if a connection to HP's Web Services cannot be established a Security Reset should be performed. Use the following steps to perform a Security Reset.
    1. At the printer's touch screen control panel press the wrench & gear icon (Setup menu) at the top of the touch screen.
    2. Using the scroll arrows on the right side, scroll until Network Setup appears then press Network Setup.
    3. In the Network Setup menu select Security
    4. Using the scroll arrows on the right side, scroll until Reset All Security appears and then press Reset All Security. Allow the reset to complete before attempting to connect to HP's Web Services.

  • HP LaserJet Pro M127fn - fax sending problem - busy status all time

everytime i try to print via word or other app and choose the fax printer from the program, it opens the wizzard to enter options and number but then it gets into a busy loop, spooling etc,  and I cannot send it.
why?  the machine was working fine when i firt bought it 2 weeks ago.
from the machine itself it's working  but from the computer choosing the printer it does not.  the same with other PC from same workgroup.
i tried uninstalling and deleting the printers as well but the problem keeps on.
windows 7 on all machines connected via ethernet

Thanks for providing the screen shot georgi0.
Since you can't do the system restore, check and remove any recent Windows Updates, to see if that will fix this issue.
Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.
In the left pane, click View update history.
Do you have full Admin Rights on the computer?
With that error you are getting, I would restart the Print Spooler on the computer to see if it helps.
Click Start (), type services.msc in the Start Search box, and then press Enter.
Double click on Print Spooler in the list.
Click on Stop and then Start.
Close that window and restart the computer.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it.
It might show a issue with the software installed.
Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
Check the Devices and Printers folder to see if you have a icon for the fax and the printer icon.
How does it list the printer name and fax? (LaserJet Pro M127fn/fax or Universal PCL 6)
Follow the steps in this document to get to the device manager to check for the printer entries. See if you have any conflicts for the fax driver. Also check devices and printers, to see if there is a icon for the fax.
How do I get into Windows Device Manager?
Then go to View, Show Hidden Devices. Check through the list for the printer entries. You might have to click on all the + signs to check under the headings. Open Printers, it should list the printer name and fax there and possibly under Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Look for anything with a ! mark on it. Right click and update the device.
If it isn't listed then go to Action across the top of the screen and Scan for hardware changes.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
How was the printer entries listed?
Please let me know the results.
    Thank You.

  • Manual for HP LaserJet MFP M476

I'm trying to find the HP LaserJet MFP M476 manual of instructions (I am trying to learn how to duplex and print envelopes). Can someone offer me a link to the manual for this printer?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

The M476 User Guide manual can be found at http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c03820385-4.pdf
Unfortunately, in common with the guides for many of the current generation of LaserJet printers, the manual offers only very basic instructions on loading paper trays.
It doesn't mention anything about whether or not special considerations apply to loading 'sided' paper (such as Letterhead, or Prepunched), and whether or not these are different for Simplex and Duplex print jobs.
The only reference to envelopes appears to be :
"Do not print envelopes, labels, or unsupported sizes of paper from tray 2. Print these types of
    paper only from tray 1."
