Hi,
Is the printer connected via USB or through the Wireless network?
If you may use a wireless network connection be sure to temporarly plug a USB for the update as listed on the update instructions:

  • Laserjet p1102w fails to install

At first this printer(HP Laserjet 1102W)  was great, installed and everything was fine. Then we moved and Centurylink changed my router.  First my IPAD wouldn't hook up but we fixed that by changing the router "channel' to 11.  Well now, I can't even get the printer to install on my computer (I know the router doesn't have anything to do with the computer intallation failure).
So, anyway, running Windows 7, 64 bit, have started and restarted, booted and rebooted computer and printer, reset network endpoints on printer, uninstalled the previous versions of the printer.  used the CD, not used the CD, gone to the website and got the software directly off the web- nope- still won't install.  Goes through the whole process and then I get a pop up that says Printer intallation failed.  No printer was installed.
Usually I just have issues with getting it connected wireless but TODAY I can't even get it installed!  This has never been an issue before.  I have also even turned my Firewall off in case it was blocking something (like it was before during the wireless installation) but Nope, not the answer!
I really need to get some stuff printed.  Even if I have to use the midevil USB cord!
    Any help is appreciated!

I see you are having an installation issue with your Laserjet P1102w.  I am guessing that this printer was installed previously on this computer, but now you need to reinstall to connect the printer back to your new network.  Is this correct?
If so, have you gone through the process of uninstalling the previously installed software already?  If so, then I would advise checking the Print Server Properties of the PC to ensure the driver has been removed for the printer.  This can hang up many printer installations.
Click on the Start menu of the Windows 7 PC
Select the Devices and Printers folder
Click on any of the available printers in the list
Click on the option for Print Server Properties at the top of the window
    Select the Drivers tab
Delete any drivers remaining for the P1102w in the list
Once the printer has been completely removed and software uninstalled, then I would download the latest drivers from the HP website and re-install.  Click the link below to access the downloads page for Windows 7 and the P1102w.

  • HP LaserJet P1102w Fails to Connect Wirelessly

I am having difficulty connecting my MacBook Pro retina to my HP LaserJet P1102w printer. It works wonderfully when I have it connected via USB, but I can't get it to see my computer.
I've tried all of the installation suggestions on the site here, but nothing has worked. I've printed off a "Self Test / Device Configuration" page. It says that my wireless is "Enabled," my communication mode is "Infrastructure," my SSID is set to my personal SSID, and that it has an authentication of "WPA/WPA2."
Whenever I go into Printers & Scanners in my system settings and try to add the new, wireless printer, I am only given an option of USB. The Bonjour version of my printer is not available. If I disconnect from USB, the printer goes offline. Yet, despite all of this, the blue, wireless light remains on the whole time like it's connected.
    I have a Belkin router Model F5D7234-4 V4. I am running OS X 10.9.3 on a 15" MacBook Pro with Retina display.
If anyone else has had this same sort of problem, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a lot!

  • Ipod touch 4 failing to update software

I have an ipod touch 4th gen. and I am trying to update to version 5.  It connects for 2 hours downloading but as soon as it "updates -  processing file" I get the message "network connection timed out.  Make sure network settings are correct" and the ipod switches off.   I am using a laptop and vista, and I have been able to download in the past with other things and the connection doesn't time out.  How do I get the software updated?  I have no idea whether it is the computer or the ipod and simply don't know what to check.  Please help - my teenage daughter is desperate for it to be updated!

I have suddenly discovered how to reply to you, Illaass.  Thank you very much - it worked.  I disabled the antivirus and firewall software and it downloaded the software without any problem.

  • Iphone 4 failed to update software, now stuck in recovery mode?

itunes asked me to update the phone software, it downloaded on the laptop but when i looked at my phone it had the plug into itunes picture, ive held down lock and pressed the menu button but this didnt work
    pleaseeee help me

Disconnect it from the computer's USB cord. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message.  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Then you can restore your phone:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

  • Failed to update software

About once a week we get a message wehn we turn on the tv that there is a software update available.  The message on the screen has options to update or cancel.  My remote will not let me do either.  Thankfully the update disappears after a few minutes so I can see the screen.  What is going on?  What can I do to update the software?  Can I do it manually or can I opt to an automatic update?

This is most likely a message from your TV, not Verizon (check your TV manual for on-screen messages).  Verizon pushes their updates to all subscribers in an area (VHO) at once.  And no you can't optr out since their software has to be uniform across the area or lots of things wouldn't work.

  • LaserJet P1102w Firmware Failed to Update

I have tried several times to update the firmware for my wireless printer. Each time I try, I get an error message stating that the Firmware Failed to Update. • Laserjet P1102w - unable to connect and update wireless settings

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I have a laserjet P1102w, which was working beautifully on my wireless home network. I recently changed the network configuration and router. I need to update my IP address in the printer settings.
I am running on Windows 7, and when I connect to the printer with a USB cable, the computer recognizes the printer but it does not appear in the control panel. I have updated all the software (and flash) successfully on the printer, and still nothing.
I tried this on 3 different computers, still the auto-run software does not appear, nor am I able to access the printer software. I've changed the cable and nothing.... Thanks for your suggestions.

  • HP Laserjet p1102w - after firmware upgrade / Smart Install update - down to 1MB free memory

    Hello,
I have a Laserjet p1102w running off a laptop with Windows 7 64-bit. Just bought the printer this month.
After updating the firmware to 20120814 version and updating the SmartInstall update utility for the 20120814 version as well, I am now down to 1 MB free memory (out of 8MB originally). [Another LJ p1102w updated prior to these updates has 3MB free memory.]
Because I have 1MB free memory, the printer is almost a brick. It can print simple text based pages - however, printing any page with a graphic or a PDF file will cause the printer to take forever to receive data - essentially preventing printing a page on  my new printer (while printing the same page instantaneously on my older nonupdated p1102w).
Is there any way to fix this problem, given there is no memory upgrade option? Otherwise, this printer is a brick.
Thank you in advance for a reply - especially from HP.

    Hi cyskim,
Did you tried turning the printer off and on after updating the firmware? This should clear its memory, including any memory may affected during the firmware upgrade proccess .

  • Will there be an update to the HP LaserJet P1102w enabling it to accept HP TouchPad print jobs?

I have 4 HP TouchPads and they cannot print to the P1102w because of the character protocol being used.

    Hi CyberCDR,
The Laserjet P1102w has a firmware update that will enable ePrint. you could use this method and simply email your print jobs to your printer. I am unaware of any further support for the Touchpad specifically.

hope you can find the sloution that will slove this problem
    thanyou

Sorry to hear that the software update failed. Unfortunately, it sounds like you need to perform a software repair on your phone via Bridge for Mac.
Wait to connect the phone via USB cable to your Mac > In Bridge for Mac, click at Xperia > Repair Xperia device > Continue > Select your device.
Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to reinstall the software and complete the repair. Do not connect your phone until this guide tells you when and how to connect it.
Note that the phone should be powered off while doing this repair. Disconnect the phone from any kind of power source and hold down the ON/OFF + volume up(+) button for 5-10 seconds and you should force a shutdown.

You would have to purchase a retail Leopard installer DVD. Since they are difficult to find you may need to search on eBay, Amazon.com, and Google to find a suitable copy.
If you have an Intel iMac, then you may want to consider upgrading to Snow Leopard which you can purchase at any Apple retailer for $29.00 versus the minimum price of $129.00 for Leopard.
    Leopard System requirements
You must have a Macintosh computer with:
an Intel processor or a PowerPC G4 (867 MHz or faster) or G5 processor
    a DVD drive >built-in FireWire
at least 512 MB of RAM (additional RAM is recommended for development purposes)
a built-in display or a display connected to an Apple-supplied video card supported by your computer
at least 9 GB of disk space available, or 12 GB of disk space if you install the developer tools
    Snow Leopard General requirements
Mac computer with an Intel processor
    1GB of memory
    5GB of available disk space
    DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
And, you could also upgrade to Lion by purchasing the Apple USB Lion flash drive installer for $69.00.
    Lion System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)

  • Nokia 7370 "Updating Software Failed"

    Hi,
I tried several times to update the software of my 7370 but after the NSU tells me that there is new software available and after its download the NSU starts updating but after a while it says "Updating Software failed" and asks me if I want to retry but with no results.
    Can anyone help me please?
I tried with the phone in charge and I had no internet connection problems.
    Thanks in advance

did u follow all the steps as mentioned in the guide? (phone on general profile, sim card inserted etc)
if it still didnt work, maybe there is some installed software interfering with the update? reset your phone to original state (*#7370#) which will delete all contacts etc and restore to factory settings and then try the update again
if it still refuses to work, take it to your nearest nokia service center
