HP LaserJet P1102w WIFI..

We have 4 laptops and 1 dekstop computer in our house, all using windows 7, this printer was installed on an old desktop that we dont use anymore, but we can still use it if needed.. we installed the printer on all of our computers via HP SMART INSTALL on our printers ip website. Everything was working fine until recently.
We tried printing and there was no response from our printer, later we checked if our printer was still connected to our internet, and we realized it still was, but in the page that the printer makes after you hold x button we noticed this..
Hp LaserJet Professional P1102W
AUTOTEST/DEVICE CONFIGURATION
everything seems fine until HP LASERJET PROFFESIONAL P1102W
IP.CONFIG=AUTO
SERVER DHCP/BOOTP=0.0.0.0
SERVER WINS=0.0.0.0
Then i see around 4 options on blank, then I can see my modem info
connection name, Activated, WEP etc..
I dont know how to start, but i need to fix it.. and Ideas?
Thanks!

If you're sure the wirelss light is on and it is still not connecting to the network, start with this:
Restore default wireless settings
1. Turn the product off.
2. Press and hold the wireless  button and the cancel  button, and then turn the product on.
3. Hold the buttons until all the lights blink in unison, and then release the buttons
If you still have a problem, turn off router, pc, and printer. Restart router and wait until the lights settle down, then restart printer, then pc.
If you still have a problem getting an IP to the printer, uninstall it from one of the PCs and reinstall it using the directions for a usb-assisted wireless connection.

    Hi BazzPatt,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand you are unable to setup the printer on the wireless network.
I will be happy to help you.
I would reset the printer first to clear out any previous network settings.
Turn the printer off, hold down the wireless button and cancel (x button) while turning the printer back on and don't release the two buttons until the printer stops making noise.
Print out a configuration report and make sure the SSID and IP address are cleared.
(hold down the x button and when the printer makes a noise let go)
After the reset, disconnect the routers power cable, wait 10 seconds, then reconnect the power cable.
    Wait till it's ready.
Since the software is already installed then I would setup the wireless again by connecting the printer by USB to the computer.
Then go to start, all programs, HP, Laserjet, wireless configuration wizard, follow the steps to setup the wireless. When finished remove the USB cable.
    Then try and print.

  • HP Laserjet P1102w Linux driver cannot find wireless device in printer

When using the (ubuntu 12.04) HP Device Manager to configure the HP Laserjet P1102w Wifi, The device is recognized, but when I go to step three by clicking next, I get this message: “Unable to locate wireless hardware on device”. As a result, when clicking on OK, the only option, I get the following message: “Unable to turn on wireless adapter”. I follow the directions but this is always the result. I only have linux computers here and it is a bummer that I have to borrow someones Window’s computer to set it up. I really do not want to have to keep doing that..... Can anyone help? and thanks in advance.

Thank you Advance23 for the reply, I installed using that link already, the problem is that, the software is Unable to locate the wireless hardware on the printer. I have used 3 computers and same result. If, however, i use a windows computer to get the wireless device working on the printer, i have success.. I had to barrow that computer, and since then have changed service providers and have to activate the wireless device in the printer again. i do not have a windows computer to complete the task at hand.
that aside, all of the other items in the device manager work fine, and as long as i use a usb cable, i can print. I do not buy this printer for that reason, however, I wanted a wireless printer in my home. So there we are... kind of stuck right now. wishing the software would do what it claims to do.

  • Wireless HP Laserjet P1102w cannot 'see' my WiFi/Wireless network

    Hi all,
I've been having some problems with my new HO Laserjet P1102w finding my WiFi network which is a Belkin N Wireless Modem/Router (PM01527ea/F5D8636-4).
Have followed the skimpy supplied instructions, which simply say to remove all the packaging, install the Toner cartridge, connect directly to my laptop & follow the instructions which appear when the enclosed CD is inserted.
All goes ok until it tries to connect to my WiFi Modem/Router. It correctly picks up the SSID & also manages to somehow obtain my WPA2-Personal key/pass-phrase (which is scary as I thought it secure!).
But then nothing. Any further progress fails to connect. Even the hallowed 'HP Print and Scan Doctor' util that i downloaded fails to see the WiFi, but the windows laptop & Apple iPads/iPhones can all see, connect & operate correctly.
Should I turn all the security off & try in plain text?
Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Ta,
    Simon Bond in the UK.

    Hi simonbond,
I understand the mobile devices will connect to the printer but the computer won't.
    Thank you for your reply.
I will be happy to help you with this.
Print out a configuration report and make sure the SSID and IP address are correct.
(hold down the x button and when the printer makes a noise let go)
If you have a valid IP address for the printer then try and access the embedded web server for the printer. Type the IP address into internet explorer address bar.
If it loads the printer's network page then the printer is on the network.
If it doesn't load then check the network name the computer is connected to.
Temporarily turn off any Antivirus sotware.
Power cycle the computer, printer and router.
Install the printer as a USB connection.
Then go to start, all programs, HP, Laserjet, wireless configuration wizard, follow the
steps to setup the wireless. Disconnect the USB when completed. Try printing now.
    Hope this helps.

  • Has anybody tried wifi printers HP LaserJet P1102w or Samsung ML-2165W on 10.8.1?

The subject says it all... I have found some experiences for both printers, but on 10.7 and below... Anything more recent?
    thanks

    Hi,
The HP Laserjet P1102w currently only supported via Wireless connection using AirPrint. Full Functionality should be available later.
Make sure to update the latest firmware of the printer to enable AirPrint and add the printer as you may find listed below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03425022&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en &os=219&product=4110396&sw_lang=
And the latest firmware can be found in here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=bi-95186-3 &cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=219&product=4110396&sw_lang=
Make sure the printer connected to the wireless network, the Blue light should appear as solid blue.
If the light is blinking the printer is disconnected from your network. Let me know and I will provide you the steps to connect it to the router.

  • HP LaserJet P1102w & Mountain Lion Wireless

I just bought  a brand new HP LaserJet P1102w and cannot connect it via wireless to my Mac at all. I'm running Mac OS 10.8 with the latest software updates. I have already downloaded and installed the latest software and firmware directly from the HP site. I cannot seem to configure the printer to work on wireless, although the HP website says it's supported with Mac OS 10.8.
When I go to System Preferences > Print & Scan > Options and Supplies... > Utility > Open Printer Utility > HTML Config... in order to try and connect it to my wifi network (running on a brand new Airport Express), all I get is the following:
This page contains the following errors:
error on line 6 at column 48: Entity 'nbsp' not defined
error on line 12 at column 8: Opening and ending tag mismatch: link line 0 and head
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

How am I supposed to use this wireless printer wirelessly? Your website says it's supported but when I have all the updated software and firmware on my printer and my computer, it doesn't work. I'm extremely disappointed in HP at the moment and hope you can provide a viable solution.
Mac OS 10.7 has been out for over a year-and-a-half and Mac OS 10.8 has been out for nearly 3 months now. It's ridiculous and disprespectful to your cutomers to not have proper drivers and firmware available to ensure your prodcut works as you say it should.
I look forward to your solution.

    Hi,
I sorry to hear about the problem you are facing, I truly hope this situation will get resolved shortly.
Please follow the steps below in order to bypass this situation and conect the printer to your router using a temporary direct connection:
    Turn the printer Off.
Press and hold both the wireless and the cancel  button, and then turn the product on.
Hold the buttons until all the lights blink in unison, and then release the buttons.
From the Mac, click the Wi-Fi icon and select Join Other network.
Click Show network and select the printer's SSID, it should include HP, P1102, Laserjet, etc.
If you're not sure which network name belongs to the printer, print a network configuration page by holding the Cancel button, it will be listed on the right side within the network information.
Allow 4-5 minutes till the ad-hoc connection will be fully established
Open Safari and click the Bookmarks icon (), then select Bonjour.
Double click the printer name, the EWS page appears.
Click the Networking tab, and then click Wireless from the list on the left.
Under Communication Mode , click Infrastructure , select your network SSID from the Available Network Names (SSID) list, and then click the >> button.
From the Security Mode pop-up menu under Authentication , click WEP or WPA/WPA2 . Your selection depends on which Wireless Security Protocol your network uses.
Note: if you aren't sure what security type is used, click the Wi-Fi icon on your MAc and select Open  Network Preferences. Select Wi-Fi and click Advanced, within the Wi-Fi type you should see your router name with its security type listed right next to it.
If your network does not have Wireless Security, leave the Security Mode set to Open System (No Authentication).
Type your WEP/WPA/WPA2 key in the appropriate field, and then click Apply
In the confirmation box, click OK , and then close Safari.
From the Mac, click the Wi-Fi icon and select Join Other network.
Click Show network and select your home network again, now both of the devices connected to your home network .
Open Print & scan, click the Plus button and add the printer listed as AirPrint.

  • Hp laserjet p1102w: wireless not working: unable to change to new network

I just moved and established a new wireless network to which I want to connect my printer.
I have followed instructions on HP's websites.  All goes well until I attempt to open "html config..." on the printer utility screen.  nothing happens after selecting "html config...".
printer works fine if connected via usb; doesnt work wirelessly from laptop, iphone or ipad.   I would like to continue to use the laserjet wirelessly.
    any suggestions are appreciated!

the wireless printing worked just fine from the laptop, my iphone and ipad while at my previous address where I shared a wifi with roommates.  I now have my own wifi via cable (tv) that has a different name than the previous wifi.

  • HP Laserjet p1102w and airprint

i have a HP Laserjet p1102w (which supports airprint), it's on the same wifi network as my ipad2 ( os 5.0.1), however whenever i try to print from my ipad, it says no printer found, any suggestions?

Seems long to me, but itmwould, depend on the size ofmthe update, network speed, yada yada.  I am tryingnto remember the steps, when i did mine, and i just cant.  At some point you probably have to turn the printer off, so it can reboot.  When it looks like it is done, it should, say so on the panel.
Worst case, when you are tired of waiting, reboot the printer, and see if it now shows up on your padmwhen you try to print.  If not, simply trymthe firmware update again.

  • IPad 2 to hp laserjet p1102w via airprint.

I wish to print to my hp laserjet p1102w, but my ipad says no airprint printers are available. I am on wifi and everything else works. The hp is working fine.

There are two issues to make this work. One, as you have discussed, you need to upgrade the firmware so the printer is truely ready to handle AirPrint. But there's a second issue that I'm stuck on. How do you get the printer on the wireless network? If you have a wireless router that supports WPS, it's apparently easy, but Apple's routers don't support WPS because it is not considered to be a secure network protocol, despite claims to the contrary.
Apple supports WPA2, which rocks in terms of wireless security, but each device that connects needs to provide the WPA2 password in order to join the network, and guess what? Printers don't have an interface through which you can send a password. My Nintendo Wii does. My iPad does. My iPod Touch Does. All my Macs do, but my wireless printer doesn't.
So, my wireless printer is connected via Ethernet to my Apple Time Capsule and it prints fine from all my Macs, but no go for AirPrint from my iOS5 devices.
    <sad face>
And buying a newer printer wouldn't help because none of them connect to WPA2 networks.
    <sad face>
So, if you CAN print at home via AirPrint, you might as well prepare yourself to have your wireless network hacked by your teenaged neighbor. It's only a matter of time.

  • My HP Laserjet P1102W is used over the internet

Tonight my printer started to print. Not my work. Somebody printed over the internet.
Printer is HP Laserjet P1102W and it's connected to my WiFi and it is shared locally.
So how can it be that someone, from tens of kilometres away can accidetly print his work with my printer?
How can I secure that printer that this will never happen again.

Hi K-PAX, welcome to the HP Forums. Have you configured your printer with HP ePrint? HP ePrint will enable you to print from anywhere in the world if you have an internet connection. If you do use it, you can set your account up with restrictive printing. If you do not use it, you can probably disable Web Services. Let me know if you use HP ePrint or not. • HP LaserJet p1102w with Mac OS X10.6.8 HTML config issue

    Hello,
I have been using this printer for a few years now and have moved house a few times and successfully updated the wireless settings on the printer through HTML config. Lately, in printer utilities the HTML config button does not show up where it is meant to.
I have installed / uninstalled the latest firmware, software drivers, printers and made sure they were platform specific.
    This is really annoying.
Is there old software available for download? it was working fine until the recent update - which I did so I could use the eprint features.
    Best regards
    Costas
    Printer:
    HP LaserJet p1102w, Firmware datacode = 20130213
    Computer:
    Macbook white, late 2008 model: 2.4Ghz Core2Duo, 4G RAM with OS X 10.6.8

From the name of the printer, it looks like you have it installed through a USB connection.
Here is what I would. First go into “System Preferences” and then select either  “Print & Scan” or "Print & Fax".
Right click (or control + click) on the rectangle listing your printers and then select “Reset Printing System”.
NOTE: This will delete all printers.
After you have reset the printing system, let's make sure you have the most recent HP driver package installed.
You can download it here: http://support.apple.com/downloads/DL907/en_US/HPPrinterDrivers2.14.dmg
Once you have downloaded the driver package and completed the installation, go into your print settings under System Preferences > Print & Scan. To add the printer, click the plus (+) sign. You should see your printer listed here. If not, click "Add Printer or Scanner." Click the name of your printer and then click "Use:” box.  Make sure that says the name of your printer and not AirPrint. Next make sure that the printer "Kind:" is set to Bonjour or Bonjour Multifunction. Click "Add" down in the bottom right hand corner.
This will add your printer back using the most recent HP print driver available through Apple. Let me know if this helps resolve your issue or not. If it doesn't, let me know I will see what else I can do.
    Best of luck,
    Kyle

  • How to Print Labels? - HP LaserJet P1102W

I'm close to pulling my hair out here.  I recently purchased a LaserJet P1102W as a replacement for my LaserJet 1022n that finally gave out.  I am trying to print Avery file labels (template 5066).  I am using the old file document, I simply need to reprint.  So, I open the file and select 'Print' and then hit 'OK'.  On my old model, the Attention light would blink red until I hit what I guess is the ok/accept button (I think it was the button with the triangle and the ! inside, but I can't be sure now) - it would then send the print job for the labels though, allowing me to put the label sheet in first and then it would feed that through from the main tray.
With this new model, I follow exactly the same steps but I can't get the document to print. Hitting the Power button on this unit only turns it off.  Hitting the Cancel button deletes the document from the queue and it won't print.
I just spent nearly an hour and a half with HP Live Tech Support and they can't seem to give me a straight answer.  They're telling me they need remote access to fix the issue or they need me to delete and reinstall my drivers.  One thing the techs are sure of is that it is not a hardware issue, simply user error.  Even though I repeated the steps that I took and they say that everything is correct.  I was also told to "please the paper", whatever that means.
I was hoping that I could find a fellow user of the P1102w here, or at least someone knowledgable who isn't reading from a book.  It just feels like there's a step missing somewhere once I bring up the Print menu.  Do I need to manually change a setting or direct it to pull from a certain tray? I'm just trying to do everything possible before I actually uninstall/reinstall the drivers.  Also, all the software is current, no updates needed.
Someone please help!  I'm losing it...or I've already lost it maybe.  lol
Thanks in advance for any sanity that you might be able to bring.

I realize this is an old thread, but it came up as one of the first Google search results and there was no solution.
I was having this problem too.  The problem ended up being that I had turned off the status messages in the printer setup.  When I turned the status messages back on, a window pops up when I try to print a label.  I click "Continue" and it pulls the label from the manual feed.

  • Hp laserjet p1102w won't print within cloud server

Please help! I have an HP LaserJet P1102w desktop printer connected via USB. It has worked fine until about a week ago when I had to have my computer wiped and the operating system reinstalled. I have Windows 7 64 bit OS. I reinstalled the printer, driver, and updated the firmware. It prints test pages and configuration pages just fine, as well as anything directly from my PC. This is an office computer connected directly to a private network using a cloud based server. I cannot print anything from within the cloud to my printer! I have looked through all of the forums and help sites and our IT people cannot assist me as this particular printer is on a list of hardware that they do not work with. As I mentioned, before the reinstallation it printed fine from the network, but now it doesn't seem to make the connection and I don't know what else to try, please help!

Hi , Thanks for posting in the HP Forums, and welcome!  +I not sure I understand exactly how you are trying to print, but as this printer is wireless, I think having it connected wirelessly to your network rather than USB to a single computer, might make all the difference. I'd recommend trying the steps in this document to configure your printer wirelessly:HP LaserJet Pro P1102w - Wireless Printer Setup You'll also want to make sure your web services is enabled on the printer. 1. Print a Network Configuration Page.2. Type the IP address that shows up on your configuration page into the address bar of your browser on your computer.3. Click the tab at the top that says Web Services.4. You will have either a Setup or Enable button, click this. Hope this helps!

  • Just upgraded to mountain lion and my HP Laserjet p1102W won't connect

Just upgraded to mountain lion and my HP Laserjet p1102W to print (worked fine via USB with Snow Leopard; I never had set it up wirelessly, though had wanted to do so.)  HP site said if printer worked with Snow Leopard nothing would need to be done; update of drivers would be automatic within Mountain Lion upgrade.  No such luck.  My Macbook Pro and HP Printer are not talking to each other.  HELP, please!
    I have a Macbook pro.
When I tried to print, I was told to get new drivers from HP.  HP site says what I wrote above, that I need do nothing if printer worked with Snow Leapord.  Also read that a new HP Laserjet would need to be connected only via Airprint.  So, I have deleted the printer from the print queue, thinking that might help, but I can't find how to install it via Airprint??  After deleting the printer and having no luck with connecting wirelessly, I tried plugging in USB from printer to MacBook pro, too, thinking maybe that would help, but there is no recognition at all.
    What am I missing???
    Thanks!

Airprint is for IOS devices and thus has no relevance to this issue.
Connect the printer to your Wireless Network and use Bonjour to detect nd connect it.
That's wrong. AirPrint is not just for iOS devices. Since HP doesn't provide drivers for this printer, they say to use AirPrint:

  • Can't install driver for HP laserjet p1102w

I have a HP laserjet p1102w installed on my network wirelessly. It was working fine, but then I had to set up the network anew.
Now I can't get it to work on one of our macbooks. The other one works fine, they both run 10.7.5
I tried to remove the printer from the list and install the driver again from scratch. I downloaded the newest driver from HP, installed it, and upgraded the printer firmware (using the other laptop). When i click the + in the printer list, the printer shows up, and then i get the message to configure it, saying that the software is available from Apple. It seems to download, and then says the software is not available at this point, telling me to get the newest software from the printer manufacturer. Which is what I did in the first place.
I tried this several times, also tried repairing permissions, that didn't help.
Does anyone have any ideas? Would greatly appreciate help, have spent a few hours trying to figure this out to no avail.
