HP LaserJet P1505n freezes when trying to connect.

I just got a new router this afternoon (a Linksys WRT1900AC), and suddenly, my LaserJet hates it.
As soon as the printer becomes online, it freezes. You can't print anything, nor do computers recognize it. I can see it on the network map, though.
When the printer is hooked up locally to my computer, everything works fine. Works fine on my old router (a Netgear N900). What's making this happen?
When you first start the printer up, everything is normal. The router picks it up, and gets it an IP address, no problem. Once the printer is done warming up, that's when it freezes. I can open the cover, and it'll still calibrate, but the lights on the front remain frozen. I can't print a test page either (by holding the check on the printer, and through Windows.)
Please help me. I already bought a new router, I don't want to buy another printer.

Hello computerdude100, welcome to the forums
I read through your post about the issues you have been having since changing your router to the Linksys WRT1900AC. From how you are describing it, the printer itself seems okay without the new router, as your previous router setup worked fine and a the local connection to your computer works fine. The hardware is proving out to be okay.
I do recommend contacting Linksys to see if they can configure the settings for you as it is not communicating with the printer.

  • Mac G4, OS X 10.4.11 freezes when trying to connect to server

    Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has advice on solving this issue:
One of the Macs in my small office is a G4, single processor, PowerPC, running OS X 10.4.11. It's a computer we only use from time to time. I needed to use it recently, and when I tried to connect to our server (Xserve, also OS X 10.4.11), using "apple-K", it froze when I selected the volumes to connect to. This has never happened before!
I checked that I had the correct IP address for the server. Could it be an ethernet ID problem? Maybe I need to run the software update? I'm a bit lost here :-/
    Thank you!

  • Ever since I downloaded ios7, my iPhone 4s keeps freezing when trying to connect to wifi. Help?

My iPhone 4s keeps freezing whenever I try to connect to wifi. It either won't even open wifi, and when it does, it'll freeze as soon as wifi is open. I can force quit the settings area, and it unfreezes the iPhone, but it doesn't fix the settings area, which is still frozen. I have come to points when I can connect to wifi, but it only lasts about 30 seconds before dropping the connection. This happens everywhere, even at home, when I'm right next to the router. What should I do?

Try resetting your settings. Settings > General > Reset.
I had this happen shortly after updating and it worked when I reset.
    Doesn't delete anything though.

  • HP LaserJet 1018 freezes when trying to print from Homegroup user

    1. I have recently upgraded the OS on my laptop cumputer to Windows 7 SP-1 Ultimate to make it compatible with my desktop.
    2. I run a ethernet/wireless network and I have 3 printers attached to the network:
    (a) an HP 1018 attached to my desktop and have no problems printing from it;
    (b) A  second HP 1018 attached to a printserver (Belkin Home Base Control Center (Software version 1.0.0. SKUPTP Driver 3.3.8.0). The Belkin Control Center is attached to my network wirelessly. I have no problem printinting through this printer from my desktop. Nor did I have problems printing through this printserver when my laptop was running Vista Ultimate SP3;
    (c) a Photosmart all-in-one C7280 printer attached to my network wirelessly. I have no problem printing from this printer either from my desktop OR my laptop regardless of operating system.
    3. When my laptop was running Windows Vista Ultimate and my desktop was on Windows 7, the laptop was able to print through my desktop to the  USB HP LaserJet 1018 as well as the HP LaserJet attached to the Belkin Home Base Control Center. At no time has my laptop had problems printing to the HP Photosmart printer.
4.When I upgraded my laptop's OS to Windows 7 SP1 and joined both the desktop and the laptop through homegroup networking, however, I have experienced the following problems:
    (a) When the laptop attempts to print through the USB-connected HP LAserJet attached to my desktop, the action is recognised by both computers i.e., one computer printer status indicates that the print job is spooling to the USB printer; the printer indicater on my desktop indicates that the printjob is printing. However, nothing gets printed and the job is suspended.
When I try to cancel the printjob, both print status indicators tells me that the file is being deleted. However, it remains in that state even after a restart of both my computers.
I am unable to cancel the job -and unable to print directly from my host desktop computer- until I physically delete the print device, turn off the printer and restart the computer.
    (b) The Belkin Home Base Center on my laptop recognises that the second HP laserJet printer is attached to it and will indicate the fact and ask me if I want to load the print driver. When I indicate yes, the laptop attempts to load the driver, but hangs up while doing so. When I cancel the request and proceed to load the print driver on my laptop directly, the device appears as "Unspecified" rather than a printer on my device manager and I am unable to print from either my laptop or my desktop. Again, I need to delete the devices from both my desktop and laptop and restart just so that I can print from my desktop.
    4. As indicated above, printing to and through my Photosmart C7280 wireless printer is fine whether I try from my desktop or laptop. Also,  I am able to use my Cannon LiDe 500F scanner, that is also attached to the Belkin Home Base Center from both the desktop and laptop.
    SUMMARY:
    1. HP LaserJet 1018 printers can be shared between a desktop running Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate and a laptop running Vista SP3 Ultimate on a local network.
    2. The Windows 7 desktop and the Vista laptop can both share an HP 1018 printer attached to a Belkin Home Base Center printserver
    3. When the laptop is upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate and joined to the desktop through Homegroup networking, the laptop can no longer print through the HP1018 printer attached to the desktop, and any attempts to do so will freeze the printer so that not even the desktop can use it unless the device is removed and restarted on the desktop.
    4. Both the desktop and laptop computers can communicate with the Belkin Home Base Center printserver and activate a Cannon scanner also attached to this printserver. The desktop can also print through a second HP 1018 printer attached to this printserver. However, when the laptop attempts to print through the printserver, the print job freezes on both the desktop and laptop computers.
    5. Regardless of operating system or method of being networked, both the desktop and the laptop are able to print through a Photosmart C7280 printer.
What appears to be the incompatibility between HP LaserJet 1018 printers and Homegroup networking, and how can it be resolved?

  • Ipod freezes when trying to connect usb to itunes

It seems i have lost all my music on my 2 year old 5g ipod. Nothing shows up under artist/songs/etc, but in the settings it shows my 60gb ipod having 52gbs used (correct for the amount of music i have had loaded up until this point.
Now when I try to connect my ipod to my imac, I can see the device on my desktop, and can even access the drive, but as soon as I try to open itunes the program freezes up, and i have to disconnect my usb connection (unable to dismount the correct way).
So, im trying to find a solution where i can reset my ipod to its newborn factory fresh iteration. I cant do it through itunes because the ipod doesnt mount properly. Is there a hard reset somewhere? Not a reboot, but a factory fresh reset.
Thanks so much for your help. These boards are so helpful!

    Hi
Chicken of the VNC has to be installed on all computers you wish to use VNC on. The application itself, although good, does have a tendency to crash and display the problems you describe. I know Chicken of the VNC free but if you want full VNC capability that does not give you problems on the mac platform then you cant do worse than Apple Remote Desktop.

  • Wireless Printer keep freezing when trying to connect to network

I have a HP Officejet Pro L7780 All In One and it keeps freezing whenever I try to connect it to the network via Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer control panel. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software but it asks for me to connect my network through Wireless Setup Wizard which I can't do. Please help me. This is urgent. Can you please try and use layman (simple) terms when replying as my knowledge on printers and laptops are not that great.

Hi @Zo_e178 , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you are experiencing connectivity issues.  I would like to help!
I would recommend performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would then recommend this document on Wireless printing center Troubleshooting Issues.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Zen Touch freezing when trying to connect to USB 2.0 Help plea

I have a strange problem with my Creative Zen Touch 20GB. It freezes everytime when I try to connect it to my USB2.0 controller PCI card. After that I have to disconnect the player and push the reset-button. On my USB . onboard-controller the player works fine, but it's not a problem with the PCI-Card I guess, because any other device like USB2.0 external hard dri'ves and USB-sticks work fine with it.
I have Windows 98 SE installed on my computer.
Can anyone help me out with that problem please?

i had the same problem. drove me nuts............for 6 months. then I got crazy and tried sanding the usb plug ( the male end that fits into player itself. ...............Botabing.....it worked , stays connected now.
May work for you too! oh I used 400 grit sand paper

  • PST Files freezing when trying to connect to them

We are having a major issue with our .PST files.   We are using Configuration Manager 2012 to deploy a new Windows 7 x86 image to all of our machines.   The OSD works and it installs Windows 7 and many apps, one of which is Office 2010.
Once we have a new image we then engage the end user who uses that machine.  We restore some of their data and we reattach their Outlook to their .PST file(s) which we store on their U: drive.  At our company the HOME DRIVE is always U:
When we try to load the .PST file from the U: drive it will freeze and locks up the system.  Nothing works to kill the process either.  Not TaskMan not even TaskKill from a command line.  We have to Hard Boot the system.
But if we copy the .PST file locally and try to attach to it everything works perfect.  No issues.
And the really difficult part is the U: drive and freezing is inconsistent.  Some users can load up their .PST from the U: drive and some can't.  And the size of the .PST file does not seem to matter either.  some can open a 5GB file while
others freeze on a 400MB file.
We have upgraded machines to Office 2010 SP2 and that did not fix the issue.
What would cause this behavior?  It is a show stopper and I have to resolve this ASAP so any help would be awesome!!

    Hi,
What kind of drive are we talking about here? Is U: drive a shared network drive?
One thing you should note is PST files were never designed to be a network based solution. Using Pst file over the network might cause unexpected issues.

  • My ipad freezes when trying to connect to WIFI.  It say i am connected, but can't access sites

I am using the Wifi in my house and I am connected.  The IPad 3 freezes.  My phone which is an I phone 4 works fine on the wifi.
    What shold I do

You can try clearing Safari and see if that fixes the problem.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data or Cache. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • System freeze when trying to connect to wireless PEAP network

This is reproducible everytime. May I know which logs I may find to debug this, and also any possible solutions?
    Thanks!

    Solution - don't know
    Logs: in /var/logs
    kernel.log, dmesg.log, messages.log, everything.log, possibly daemon.log (contents may overlap between these)
If problem is with X: Xorg.0.log.old
    If you use wicd: /var/logs/wicd/wicd.log
There has been a fairly widespread problem the past 2-3 months with untraceable system freezes (screen goes black, keyboard & mouse freeze, requires hard reset) that probably involve a kernel panic (flashing CAPS & Scroll Lock LED's) but nothing is found in the logs.  Search this forum, e.g. for "freeze".  Example of one thread: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=88594
I've been experiencing this for >2 months, and sometimes suspect that in my case it comes from wlan (using WPA/PSK) which frequently disassociates and then reassociates but I find nothing in the logs.  Maddening!

  • Keep getting sync service error when trying to connect my iphone 5S.

Keep getting sync service error when trying to connect my iphone 5S. It freezes itunes and I can't do anything else. I see that there is an update for my phone and I need to back up, upload new apps, etc before installing. I plug my phone in and get this error every time. I am using a Win 7 SP1

    Howdy Susie48825,
It sounds like you are getting an error that mentions the sync services when you connect your phone to your computer and so you cannot sync your device. I would use the troubleshooting from the following article that  mentions an error regardign the sync services named:
iTunes for Windows: "Unable to load data class" or "Unable to load provider data" sync services alert
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2690
    Start with these steps:
    1. Check that iTunes is up-to-date
Ensure that you have updated to the latest version of iTunes.
    2. Reset Sync History
Resetting your Sync History is a simple step which may resolve some syncing issues. If this works, iTunes will prompt to Merge or Replace the information on your device when you next attempt to sync. To reset your Sync History:
    Disconnect your device.
    Open iTunes.
From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
    Click the Devices tab.
Click the Reset Sync History button, and then reconnect your device.
If this resolves the issue, and you know all of your contacts, calendars, bookmarks and notes are on your computer:
Reset the Sync History again using the steps above.
Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" select Contacts or Calendars.
    Click Apply.
If the issue persists, and you know all your contacts, calendars, bookmarks and notes are on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
Remove all of the contact and calendar information from Outlook.
Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" make sure Contacts and Calendars are not selected.
    Click Apply.
There are additional steps to use in the article if needed, but these will get you started.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • TS1717 iTunes freezes when trying to import a CD

    Please help!
My iTunes freezes when trying to import a CD
This also happens in safe mode
My driver is up to date

We had the same issue. Backtracking, it turned out that it began after our techie updated our home network - for whatever reason, the main computer no longer holds the LAN settings properly after being restarted.
It's an easy fix (until he gets back from the west coast and can fix it permanently): after I boot the computer each day, I open IE, go to "tools" - "internet options" - "connections" - "LAN settings" - check "automatically detect" and uncheck "use proxy server."
Once I do that, CDDB comes up wonderfully and imports all the data I need.

  • ITunes freezes when trying to access "burning" tab in advanced preferences

iTunes freezes when trying to access "burning" tab in advanced preferences and also when attempting to hit burn cd button in lower left corner.

Thank you SO much!!! This is Exactly the problem I was having. I have spent untold hours in the last couple of days trying to resolve not only iTunes freezing up, but my network connectivity went bust as well. I like Blink so I'm undecided about whether to uninstall it yet, so I just disabled all of its firewall settings, and presto!... I can not only get my CD/DVD player to read and burn CD's, but iTunes and my computer remain functional. I got my computer to reconnect to the internet by doing a System Restore at a point prior to my trying to burn a CD. Thanks again so much. You saved my entire week!
