HP LaserJet P2055dn

Hi,
My problem is this: When printing to HP P2055dn (network printer) from pdf document and power point documents that have more pages (documents are not large in size), printer prints first two pages then stops (like he's having a tea break hehe) for about 2 sec and then prints 2-3 pages, then stops again for 2 sec, and then prints more pages and then stops for 2 sec and so on...I haven't tested it on other formats but i believe it would be the same result.
This is what I've tried so far:
1) Printing with PCL5,PCL6 and Universal drivers ==> Problem stays
2) Upgrading latest firmware ==> Problem stays
3) Reset all settings to manufactured ==> Problem stays
4) Printing directly trough USB ==> Problem stays
Did anybody had similar problem and knows the solution, or has any advice? Thanks
And one more question, why does document in size 2MB when printing, printer in Job Status - See what's printing shows that it has 10-15 MB and more?
When printing from Foxit PDF printer prints delayed as i mentioned in the post previously , but when printing same document from adobe reader 9 and X printer prints normaly. Also when printing document from Foxit PDF and Power Point  e.g document that has in size 300KB then in window  "Show whats printing" is shown much larger size ( e.g. 300KB becomes 3 MB). Can somebody explain why does printer spooler enlarges document in his memory so much when printing from Foxit PDF and Power Point. I've tested another printer HP CM1415fn, and similar problem occured, but this time printing pdf document (8 pages; 200 kb) from adobe reader x. The document size in "Show what's printing" windows has enlarged to 33 MB, and thus printer prints very very slow. Printers are installed on Server 2008 Standard.
Every help would be appriceated Thanks.

Anybody alive ?

  • I have a problem with HP laserJet P2055dn... Has anyone resolved this issue??

I have a problem with HP laserJet P2055dn...
Since I changed OX to Mavericks, my macpro does not connect to the HP printer (laserJet P2055dn)
Has anyone had this issue? Anyone resolved this??

How do you force the printer driver to reinsall?
I delete the printer and re-added, but nothing changes.
All the forums topics concerning driver updates reference the App Store, but I cannot find anything there.
Nor I can download the driver from the vendor website, as it also redirects me to the App Store, where nothing happens.
I am new to Mac, so the question may be a silly one.
    Thank you for your help.

  • Is there any way to print from the iPAD 3 to a HP LaserJet P2055dn? I called Applecare and was told I could not print to my wireless HP Printer.

I own a iPAD 3. It will not print to my wireless printer: a HP LaserJet P2055dn.  I called Applecare and they had no solution. I don't see such a basic function--printing--is not available.  Does anyone have a way to print from the iPAD 3 to a HP LaserJet P2055dn?

  • HP LaserJet P2055dn Printer won't print the last page of documents & envelope problem

My HP LaserJet P2055dn Printer won't print the last page of documents until i send another document, then it will print the last page of the previous document, but omit the last page of the current document.  I need to keep printing a blank page or any other page to get my previous documents completely printed.  Also, the envelopes print with large rectangular boxes on them and no address (I don't know if this is a result of the previous stated problem or not - it started happening at the same time) I use the envelope feature in Microsoft Word 2010.  I never used to have either of these problems - didn't make any changes to the system or add any software to the computer, so I know it's not that.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

This seems to be a commercial product. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!

  • HP LaserJet P2055dn and Printing from Adobe Reader

Everything prints just fine from my Mac Mini, EXCEPT:  for some strange reason PDF files that are opened via Adobe Reader are taking forever to print.  It's as if it's taking a break.  One page will finally print, then it stops and nothing happens for over 5 minutes.
The green light on my HP Laserjet is blinking which shows that it's planning on printing another page.  What is up with this?
Typically, in regards to Word, Excel files OR even when I print an email OR even a page from a website.... the printer starts immediately and knocks it out.... FAST!
But, when I go to print PDF files that are opened using Adobe Reader.... its like pulling teeth.
My software is OS X 10.8.2.
My printer is HP LaserJet P2055dn
PLEASE HELP!  THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS!

There's no printer setting for BITMAP.  However, I did find 2 settings that I changed.
    1.  In the PRINT window there was a drop down asking for document and markup.  I changed this to just document.
    2.  There was a checkbox that says:  PRINT AS IMAGE.  I clicked this.
NOW, it prints fast like all of my other stuff.  I'm not sure which of the above 2 items did the trick but it did.  Now I have to figure out how to set these as DEFAULT SETTINGS.
What do you use to open PDF files if not Adobe Reader?  Last week I moved Adobe Reader to the trash but none of my PDF files would open without it.
    I appreciate any comments suggestions.

  • HP Laserjet P2055dn won't print pdf files

I have just hooked up a new iMac with Mac OS 10.9.5 and now my reliable HP Laserjet P2055dn won't print .pdf files anymore--it just hangs for hours. I am an academic and work 50% with pdf's.  I tried to download a new driver from the HP site for all MAC OS systems 10.7 and up, but the message when the download was finished opened up in a little box that reads: "ljp2055_Firmware_Upd Image not recognised."
I've unplugged, plugged back in, turned off, turned back on countless times. Don't know what else to try?
    Thank you.

  • HP LaserJet P2055dn prints PDF's inverted

    Hi,
I'm having a problem where PDFs are printing inverted from 10.6.1 from any of two new MacBook Pros or one MacBook Air in the office connected to a networked HP LaserJet P2055dn. The HP LaserJet P2055dn is connected to the computers wirelessly via a late model Apple Airport Extreme.
To reproduce the problem, I choose any PDF file where the background is white and the text is black and print from any of the above mentioned computers in the office and the output from the printer on paper is a black background with white text.
    I have tried:
    - Rebooting the computers, turning the printer on and off
    - Changing the color matching between in-printer, and any number of profiles on the computer
    - Saving the PDF in preview using a Quartz Filter for Black and White, Reduced File Size, Gray, etc
    - Printing from Adobe Reader
    - Changing the paper type in the print dialog box
    - Changing output resolution (600dpi, 1200dpi, etc)
    - Changing the output quality (draft, proof, etc)
    - Going through the options menu on the printer itself (no obvious related settings to be found)
I have tried this with PDFs created using Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500m (the primary source for PDFs around the office) as well as PDFs coming from the eFax on-line service (the other typical source for PDFs around the office). Color documents with black text on white backgrounds authored in Apple's Pages program print correctly with black text on white backgrounds.
If I import any of the problem PDFs into Photoshop (forcing me to choose a specific pixel resolution and pick a specific page) the resulting image prints correctly (black text on a white background).
I have tried printing problem PDFs using Preview, Adobe Reader and PDF Pen.
My first thought was to update the printer drivers, but HP's customer support site says that there are no driver downloads for this printer for Snow Leopard because Snow Leopard ships with the latest drivers.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
    Jeremy

I should note that these documents print normally on an LaserJet 1320n, and always have.
Furthermore, when viewed onscreen using Pages, they appear normal. Since what we do is "fill out" these forms using Pages, we put black text on the scanned image and then print it. The scanned image comes out in negative, while the text comes out black as intended. Net result: black text on a black background, just in case you didn't follow that.
So there's something screwy about the image itself and how the printer and/or driver handles it.
More data: this happens with multiple computers, all running the same version of the OS, all with the latest printer drivers. Only one of the computers has the Fujitsu software on it. The rest do not.
It happens consistently, each and every time the document is printed. It is not a random occurrence. But whether or not it happens in the first place does seem to be random. I.e., we cannot nail down which documents cause the problems and which do not. I am having a test run to see if OCR'ing the document using the FineText (or whatever it's called) OCR program solves the problem.
I'll also have a go at letting ColorSync "reduce the file size" to see if that does something to the image that helps us out.
Will post more as I find out more...

  • Hp laserjet p2055dn network problem

I am experiencing a problem getting my new hp laserjet p2055dn to work as a networked printer. I can print fine via usb. My girlfriend's laptop can print using printer sharing. But when I print via the router, the command arrives in the print queue, then just sits and sits and sits, sometimes eventually disappearing, but without leaving any error message.
I tried printing via the network (bonjour) using an old laptop running OS 10.5 and it printed with no problem.
I've installed the latest drivers from hp spec'd for 10.6.
It seems to me that this must be a problem with OS 10.6.4. Anyone else had this problem and found a way to resolve it?
Thanks in advance for any help!

You have this printer plugged into the router via ethernet?

  • HP Laserjet P2055dn and windows 8 PCL6 error

    Hello everyboby,
I have a network of two PCs and a networked HP Laserjet P2055dn. The PCs were in windows xp pro and everything go fine. I have changed their PCs with Hp Pro and windows 8 64bits as OS. Since the PCs are windows 8, both users have random PCL6 errors when they print. It does not occur everytime. I have updated the printer firmware to latest ==> same issue.
When i look at the printer configuration, i see that Laserjet P2055dn supports Pcll5e and ps but no PCL6. But on the HP site, for windows 8, there's only PCL5 and Ps driver !!! Anyway, i have tried each driver: PCL6, full software solution driver, Universal print ==> same issue.
Does anyboby has encounter this issue ? What is the solution ?
Thanks to everybody for interest, Sincerly yours, David from France

    AlarconDavid,

  • LaserJet P2055dn is not printing the last page

Hello! Our LaserJet P2055dn prints all pages in a multipage document but not the last one. When a new document is sent to the printer, it first prints the final page of the previous document, then the new document (again without the last page). If a one page document is printed, it works without a problem.
Anyone know how to solve this?

  • OSX 10.8.5 cannot detect LaserJet P2055DN (worked previously for several years, now won't)

I have a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion) and a wireless network conencted through a D-Link DIR-655 router, which has the cable modem connected to the WAN port and the printer connected to a LAN port.
I cannot add my HP Laserjet P2055DN as a printer, either wirelessly with the printer connected to the router, or directly to the MacBooks's ethernet port. There are no error messages: the printer just does not appear as a choice in system settings\print & scan.
I deleted the printer and tried to restore it in the System Preferences, but it's not on the network. I have tried resetting the printer. I have reset both modem and router. I have powered everything up and down in various sequences. I ran network diagnostics. Nothing enables the printer to be detected.
I have checked for a driver among the downloads available from HP, but the 2055DN support page links to Apple SU. I cannot download any newer drivers from Apple. Without seeing the printer on the network, I cannot choose the driver that's already installed.
When I turn the printer on, there is the green light, and no error messages. I previously reset the printer to it's default configurations, but that knocked it off the network for our Windows 7 PC in our other office as well.
How can I get the printer to show up on my network so I can choose it on the MacBook? Thank you.

  • HP Laserjet P2055dn prints the word JOB first

I have installed  HP Laserjet P2055dn as a local printer. But when I print a document, it prints the word 'JOB' first before printing my document. I wanted to know how to stop this option. Thank you in advance.

Yes and No. Yes, its fixed but not me. The printer resolved itself. (I don't know how). The last thing I remember is that after setting the default paper size (A4), I tried printing without changing the paper size in the printer settings, I left it as default, hit the print button, then voila! It's fixed! no more "JOB" on the first printed paper. I hope will someone will help us soon. It's been a while.

  • Disk Image for Firmware Update Utility for LaserJet p2055dn is corrupted

Yep.  Not sure what happened with that one. I have submitted the issue to the software team.  Hopefully I can get a copy that works out to you soon. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Update to my previous post: HP confirms that their Firmware Update Utility is broken, but there is another way to update the firmware on a LaserJet P2055dn using a Mac running OS X, and here it is. HP tech support walked me through this procedure and it worked for me: Getting the printer ready: ensure that the LaserJet P2055dn is connected to your computer and make it the default printer. In System Preferences / Printers and Scanners, find your HP LaserJet P2055dn, select it, Click “Open Print Queue” and on the Printer menu, choose “Make Default.” On that same menu, choose “Print Test Page” and verify that the page prints.Using your Web browser, go to the following page on the HP website and click the “Download” button. Don’t worry that the page says it’s for Windows Vista. The file you’re about to download is for your HP LaserJet printer and doesn’t care what kind of computer you use to install it. Here’s the link:
    http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ja-143142-1#tab1
When it finishes downloading, go to your downloads folder and find the file HP_LaserJet_P2055dn_20141201_build155964.rfu
(note: you'll probably get a “Preparing for HP separation” message;. Just click OK)In your Applications/Utilities folder, find Terminal, and open it. In the Terminal window, type lp (space) but don’t press “return” yet. Drag and drop the above file from your finder window into the Terminal window. Then press “return”Watch the LCD display on your printer. It should go through several steps, beginning with “erasing” and finally saying “ready.”Go back to the printer’s “Print Queue” window and print another test page. If the test page prints properly, congratulations. You've done it!

  • Why HP Laserjet P2055dn doesn't works after Mac OS upgrade to OS X 10.9 Mavericks?

I upgraded my Mac OS to OS X 10.9 Mavericks, and now my printer HP Laserjet P2055dn will not print correctly. The data arrives the printer, but the print is not readable. Where can I download updated drivers from HP for this model? Or fix this problem?
    Thanks,
    Anderson Camillo

It says in this document that the Fax driver (HP LaserJet M1530 MFP Series. Fax) is available:
OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download
Try resetting the Printing system, which forces OS X to re-find available drivers, both on Apple servers and already installed:
OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system
I don't have that printer, but it looks like you have to add ( + ) it twice (one for fax) in Print & Scan prefs.
