Is there a cleaning sheet option for the HP LaserJet P3005X? I can't seem to find it in the menu of options. Thanks...

LaserJet P3005 Intermitent printing issue

Hi there,
We have a LaserJet P3005 on a local LAN which receives print jobs from Windows XP users/ Word 2003 and also print jobs from SAP.
What we have noticed is that from time to time some pages output with a lot of the characters on the page squeezed a lot closer to together, almost overlapping, making it all unreadable and in courier font (original font is something else).
Most of the time this doesnt happen. The printer outputs approx 600 pages per day
Any pointers on this one appreciated!

Hi guys, the solution to all your problems (I have the same printer) is:
1. Go to system preferences, printers & scanners
2. Delete the current Laserjet 2100 printer using the minus sign below the list of printers
3. Use the plus sign to add the printer again but this time:
4. Name the printer what you like, location as well or leave that blank
5. In the "Use" field, choose "Generic PCL Printer"
whats going on is:
- the HP driver is only valid for OS X 10.7 as the latest os it supports
- the driver does default to PostScript level 2 which is what the printer has
- mavericks is attempting to send the printer postscript level 3 which the printer can't understand, the printer is too old
- I can't find a way of forcing mavericks to use postscript level 2, even if choosing the "Generic Postscript Printer" driver
LImitations of the generic PCL driver is that you can only get it to do a max of 600 DPI, so graphics will look yuck if you're used to 1200DPI.

Why no 8 pages per sheet option?

The standard Mac Print - Layout - Pages per Sheet drop down offers 1,2,4,6,9 & 16 pages per sheet. Why is there no 8 pages per sheet option? This seems a bizarre omission. In a world of ISO 'A' paper sizes, it is easy to scale any binary power number of sheets onto, say, A4 for printing. 1,2,4 and 16 are offered - what has Apple got against 8? Does anyone know if/how I might add 8 as an option?

N-Up Printing
The -o number-up=value option selects N-Up printing. N-Up printing places multiple document pages on a single printed page. CUPS supports 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, and 16-Up formats; the default format is 1-Up:
lp -o number-up=1 filename lp -o number-up=2 filename lp -o number-up=4 filename lpr -o number-up=16 filename

HP LaserJet p3005 prints black pages

I have a problem with a HP laserJet p3005 it prints always black pages (like this) i install a new toner cartridge but i still have the same problem.
Please help me to troubleshoot my problem.

Looks like a high voltage power supply issue with the black only. Since the laser/scanner on this model uses 1 motor for 2 colors that would eliminate the laser/scanner. Repair by a repair shop may cost more than the printer. Only suggestion I can give to is do a google search for the service manual and download it. Look for instructions for the removal of the high voltage ps and remove it and then put it back in. There is always the possibility one of the connectors has become loose and is causing the issue. Contact Sheet Option Missing

Can anyone think of a reason why neither my Photoshop CS4 nor my Bridge CS4 has the Contact Sheet option under Automate (PS) or Tools (Bridge).
I'm using an Intel MacBook.
The option on my IMac G5.

For windows, one can use the Organizer to print contact sheets

HP LaserJet M2727 No Scan Option

Hello, we setup a HP as and AD printer, however, once installed there is no scan option avaible. We have a mixed Windows XP and Windows 7 environment. Any ideas which driver will work or does something different need to be done to allow the users to scan.

HP LaserJet 1300 - No Finishing options for double-sided manual printing

I connected my HP Laserjet 1300 printer to my iMac and installed the drivers but I do not have the same capability I had with Windows XP. I do not have the Preferences options to select "Print On Both Sides (Manually). Actually, I do not have access to the Printer Preferences screens with the Tabs - Advanced, Paper/Quality, Finishing, Effects. Are these capabilities available on the Mac?

I plan to keep the iMac. I ordered the new software CD for my LaserJet printer. I just don't know all the option clicks that are there. I called Apple Care and found out about the small box with the triangle that pulls down more printer options.
I really would rather not use Boot Camp. I plan to migrate completely to the Mac world. I started migrating my few Publisher docs to Pages. I just found flip4mac. I just have to accept the steep learning curve for about 1 month or so.
I'm going to mark this resolved at this time.

HP Laserjet 4+ Separation Sheet

I have a Laserjet 4+. The Separation Sheet (not the Separation Pad) is missing. The HP part # of the sheet is RB1-2149-000. This is on the MP Plate. It is part 19B on the MP Plate parts blowup in the Service Manual. This is nothing more than a small piece of felt that is on the MP Plate. It is in on the MP Plate in front of and below the MP Separation Pad and MP Paper Pickup Roller. The part is no longer available. The places that do claim to have it want $100.00 for it. Feeding the paper via the MP for the most part still works reliably without the pad. Sometimes it will feed more than one sheet of paper. Pickup Roller and Separation Pad are new. I tried just cutting a piece of felt and putting it on the MP Plate but then I really start having multiple paper feed problems. The pad is recessed down in the MP Plate. I dont really know how high I should make the pad above the surface of the MP plate. I made the pad even with the top of the MP Plate. One would think that you would make it that height. so the paper could be fed over it. What could one do. The printer works great other than the pad is missing. What could I put their instead? Not put anything there? Any help getting a pad or what I could do will be appreciated.

Clean-Ups: Perform clean-ups when you generate or import profiles. Generated profiles that no longer exist are deleted. Regular clean-ups are particularly important if you transport your roles and profiles frequently, as this helps to solve possible inconsistencies quickly.

Laserjet P3005dn network configuration options missing from I/O menu

I acquired a Laserjet P3005dn that should be networkable, and has an Ethernet port in the back, but when turned on, there is no network configuration in the menu. From the menu, I choose Configure Device, I/O. The only option is "I/O Timeout". The "Embedded Jetdirect" option is not there.
I tried to do a cold reset, but it made no difference. Can this be fixed?

Why no Contact Sheet options in Bridge from CS5.5 UK

I have searched and searched, but could find nothing on this issue. I tried to call Adobe Support, but they said I had to pay as we have a volume license! We've only had the product 2 weeks!
Anyway, in Bridge you used to be able to select the Ouput module and have options for making a PDF contact sheet. I get nothing. I thought perhaps it was a corrupt installation, so I tried another Mac, but the same thing. I thought perhaps it was the vesion of CS5.5 (Design Standard) so I tried another Mac with Web Premium. Same thing. I vaguely remember reading something about some modules don't work for all localized versions yet, but I couldn't verify that anywhere.
If anyone could shed some light on this I would be really grateful.

You mean that you have bought different Suites and installed them on all you Macs and they all have the same issue? Are you working on files on a server or standalone?
Normally the advice would be to restart Bridge holding down option key and reset preferences, even combined with deleting the Bridge plist file but when it are different install disks on different Macs that is not likely to solve the problem.
Have you already contacted your software supplier?
