HP Laserjet Print Queue Stuck after completed

Hello, I am working with on a client of mine's brand new iMac, and everything is working good except when she prints to her HP Laserjet P2035, the job completes just fine, but sits in the queue for about 20-30 seconds before completing itself. At this point, she cannot print anything else until the queue says its completed. I have updated the HP driver to the newest one, as well as all other system updates. This is very frustrating for her, so I need to find a resolution quickly. Thanks!

  • CSCsx29696 - percentSUPQ-4-CPUHB_RECV_STARVE - receive queue stuck after throttling on 2960

Hello, I have a problem with Cisco Catalyst 2960 with IOS ver 12.2 (35)SE5.
4 years ago we purchased 10 Cisco Catalyst 2960 with IOS ver 12.2 (35)SE5 and now operating them.
After 4 years of normal working one of Cisco Catalyst 2960 became bad. After switching 2 computers to any FastEthernet interfaces in the console I see:
%SUPQ-4-CPUHB_RECV_STARVE: Still seeing receive queue stuck after throttling
%SUPQ-4-CPUHB_SLOW_TRANSMIT: CPU Heartbeat Tx buffer not returned
I tried to upgrade the IOS on the following: IOS Release 12.2(53)SE1, IOS Release 12.2(55)SE, IOS Release 12.2(55)SE9  but where was NO EFFECT.
Please, tell me what shell I do to fix this problem.
    Thank you.
    Technical engineer, Tischenko Kirill.

    Hello Tischenko,
    Trust you are doing great.
Have you tried configuring the workaround mentioned in the Bug CSCed03214
    <b>Workaround:</b>
    1) Configure the interface for full-duplex instead of half-duplex.
    2) Find the interface that is receiving 1-byte frames and correct the wiring and/or
    problem on the connected device.
    <b>Additional Information:</b>
To find the interface that is receiving 1-byte frames, use the command <b>show platform
    port-asic receive port-lockup</b>.
If an interface is configured for 10Mbps half-duplex, but shows non-zero and incrementing
<b>ifix</b> counters, reconfigure the interface and connected device for 10 Mbps
    full-duplex, or 100Mbps or 1000Mbps (any duplex).
If an interface is configured for 10Mbps full-duplex, 100Mbps or 1000Mbps (any duplex),
but shows non-zero and incrementing <b>ifix</b> counters, the connected interface
or wiring is likely the cause of the 1-byte frames.

    Mohit

It has auto-restarted time by time.
I have already replaced another switch but it has the same error.

  • Print Queue "Stopped" after restarting...

I'm having problems with a Print Queue that keeps reverting to "stopped". I'll restart it using either Printer set-up utility or Server Admin but when a job goes through it just stops again.
The printer is set up to print using IPP and is set to enforce quotas (not that that should stop the print queue anyway).

I've had problems with the print queues in 10.4.x not taking print jobs after the server is restarted. Do a port scan on the server to see if port 515 is open. If it isn't then try restarting the print service on the server. Port scan the server again and see if port 515 is open. If it is open now try printing. I also had problems with ipp printing so have reverted all my clients to LPR. Some client machines I have switched to direct ip printing to the printer. The print queues in 10.4.x haven't been very reliable. I hope this helps.

  • Auto-close print queue windows after my job finishes?

Whenever I print something, a window for the printer opens up showing me the current print queue. That's great. What's not-so-great is me having to keep on closing those windows after they open.
Is there a way for those windows to close themselves after my print job finishes?
    Thanks.

Thanks! (I haven't actually tested it yet, but I did bring the printer up in the dock and set the "Auto-Quit" function, so it at least seems plausible that it will work.)
Perhaps a new low in Apple UI design: an option -only- accessible via a Dock Menu?

  • Print Queue closing after initiating a print

    Hello,
I have a LaserJet 3030 connected via a network to OS X. When I initiate a print, the icon of the 3030 comes into my dock and the item does print. The issue is that the icon stays open and does not close automatically, exactly how it would work on a PC. I want the "Print Queue" to close automatically. Does anyone know how to change this?
    Thanks.

He's talking about the printer's icon in the dock, and I've found this setting to be less than entirely reliable; at least when dealing with HPs.

  • Printing queue stuck

I have AutoCAD 2006 and Adobe Pro X that I have been using for a couple of years.  For some strange reason, this past week I have not been able to create "pdf's" from my AutoCAD drawings..    I go to my AutoCAD drawing, select the print option, select Adobe PDF as my printer as always, and hit print.  It asks me what file to store the pdf in as always and I select the file to store the pdf in.  I hit save button, and it processes right across the screen as always..  However, NO pdf in my job file that I had specified..  I have done this a hundred times the same way with no problems until this past week.   Now if I go to start/ printers and devices/ and select the ADOBE printer, there are all of my drawings that I have tried to create this week in queue.  They show as "printed' but the note at the bottom of the screen says (10) prints in queue..   Typically once the drawings have processed they do not show up in the printer queue, but there they are as if they have not proceesed..   I went back and restarted my computer to see if that helped, I tried several other drawings and they all are sitting in "queue" in the Adobe printer..   Now I will note that I did try to create a pdf from my AutoCAD drawing directly "through Adobe" and I get a message saying that the file type is not supported..  But I have been doing these Adobe pdf creations for over 2 years..  Why now are they unsupported??   Not sure what has happened or if I have mistakenly hit or clicked on a wrong button or feature, but I need some help..  They seem to process to a point, but just don't make it to the file folder that I had selected.   Thanks

If you created a LPD printer queue, then you may not have specified the correct queue name. Some print controllers, especially Fiery, require a specific queue name for LPD. In the case of the Fiery's, you need a queue name of print and it must be entered in lower case.
Another suggestion is to use HP Jetdirect-Socket instead of LPD. This is known as RAW Port 9100 on Windows print queues. With Jetdirect-Socket, you simply need to enter the IP address of the printer. No queue name is required (it is locked to 9100). Then you can select the print model in the Print Using menu and Add the queue.

  • HP Color Laserjet printer stopped working after 10.4.10 upgrade

I upgraded other night to 10.4.10 and I'm now unable to print to my USB connected HP Color Laserjet 3500 printer. Anyone have any idea what might be the cause and how to fix it?
FYI, I already tried reinstalling the driver and fix the permission but no luck.

  • Mail Message Restore Stuck after completing a full system restore

I just completed a full system restore on my Macbook Pro using the "Restore From Backups" function. Upon the first boot up, I was greeted with a "Mail Message Import" Dialog Box asking to import my messages. It began importing alot of my folders but then became stuck on the "Deleted Messages" folder with 4500 out of 7000 messages already imported. The progress bar sits and never moves and the Time remaining amount begins to increase and increase. I have the option to cancel and if I do cancel and attempt to open Mail again, then I must complete the process over again. Ultimately becoming stuck at the same point of the import process each time.
    FYI
I have 5 email accounts set up (one iMap) on this machine.
Where is this being imported from?
Can I point it to another backup directory?
    Any Help is much appreciated.

There may be more than one bug that causes this symptom.  It may be worthwhile to work with the TAC on your symptom to understand the root cause of the condition.

  • Print queue blocking sleep

Lots of folks have reported problems (both here and in the MacBook Pro community) getting their Macs to sleep. I had a similar problem with my 13" MacBook Pro (Mid 2010) under OS X 10.7.2 and also 10.7.3, but only when my MBP was connected to AC power. Then I found a comment by hoongern that I try using the Terminal command "pmset -g assertions" to see what was preventing sleep. Sure enough, under AC power I saw this line:
    PreventSystemSleep named: "org.cups.cupsd"
but no such line when on battery power.
That's when I remembered that I'd left a job in the print queue that never completed because the printer was offline. As soon as I deleted that pending print job, then all was well and my MBP will now sleep properly, with or without AC power.

    Matt,
Do the jobs that hang seem to be application specific?  That is, do Safari or Firefox print jobs hang most of the time but jobs from Preview never hang?
    No, all types hang.
... try setting up another printer but use the standard USB connection rather than USBTB .....
manifold additional problems occur without usbtb. I think that usbtb is essential for a parallel to USB connection for some printers. I'm pretty sure that is what usbtb is specifically meant for.
Has a prior version of the Gutenprint drivers worked properly on your machine before.
Actually, I now recall that when I upgraded to OS 10.4, some time ago, I initially used the Gutenprint (or I think actually Gimprint) that is supplied with that OS. As I stated above, that had many many problems and is why I put on usbtb. BTW: The Gutenprint web site is very obscure in stating the need for usbtb with some printers. I needed to do much searching on that site before I found the existence of usbtb and that it offered a possible solution for problems experienced by some printers with a parallel to USB connection. I then remembered that I had it installed along with Gimprint when I had been running OS 10.3. As I recall, printing was working quite well back then. Actually, I had been using Gimprint before it became included with Mac OS, and had always needed usbtb. I'm thinking that I might try going back to an earlier version of Gutenprint or Gimprint. Though, I think I'm first going to run this issue thru the Gimprint Forum.
You might ask why I'm struggling with this older Printer. The fact is that this printer will print up to 16" width (and about any length if on banner paper). There is no other printer available with this capacity and in this price range ($500.00) ... AND, it prints beautifully, once the print job is underway. AND, I detest throwing out good things if I can get them to work. Our Earth is suffering from thrown out stuff.
    Many thanks,
    Jimm

  • Print jobs stuck in queue using P4015n LaserJet

I setup a P4015n LaserJet printer for one of my clients using the RJ45 connection from the printer. My client has 4 computers 2 Windows 7 64 bit systems, 1 Windows 7 32 bit system and 1 Windows XP 32 bit system.  I set the network ip address, subnet mask and default gateway manually on the printer. Sometimes printing from the Windows 7 64 bit systems the jobs get stuck in the queue and you have to delete them before you can print again. The other 2 computers do not have any issues printing and they where setup using the drivers from the CD. I downloaded the latest PCL 6 drivers for the Windows 7 64 bit systems.  Looking for some suggestions.
    Thanks

Ok the problem happened on one of the 32 bit computers so it is not a 64 bit issue.  Still looking for some suggestions.
    Thanks

  • Printing to Airport Express connected Laserjet 1012 very slow after update to 10.6.8

After updating a pair of computers that we have here to 10.6.8, printing to our Airport Express connected HP LaserJet 1012 has become incredibly slow. I timed it and it is taking 2:30 to print a blank page, whereas printing the same blank page under 10.6.7 (on an external drive connected to the same MacBook Pro) happens within 2 seconds. One thing that I have noticed is that when I bring up the HP Printer Queue the computer says 'connecting to printer' for 20 - 30 seconds, then sits at 50% complete on the printing for some time - anyone else running into similar problems?

Because I am not experiencing the same issue I have not needed to apply the CNET article. But just to be clear, did you follow the instructions to the letter?
If you did and it's still not working then you can begin narrowing down where the problem is by following some basic trouble shooting steps. First thing I'd try is creating a new user account (call it TEST ACCOUNT) and leave it alone, then try printing from that account. If it works then you know it's a software issue in your normal user account. If it still doesn't work then what I'd do is:
    1. Download 10.6.8 Combo Update at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
    2. Disconnect all peripherals (including the printer)
    3. Backup using both Time Machine and/or a Bootable Clone using SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner
    4. Restart from the Bootable Clone or the Snow Leopard install discs.
         a) choose language
         b) Click Utililities Menu
         c) Disk Utility
         d) highlight the internal HD and the First Aid tab
         e) Repair Disk Permissions, Verify Disk & Repair Disk.
         f) exit Disk Utility and restart in Safe Mode
    5. Install the Combo Update
    6. Restart normally and test the system
    7. Begin connecting peripherals one by one and testing each.

  • Network Print Jobs Stuck in Queue

    Hello,
I have, perhaps, the most frustrating problem on the planet.  In my home network, I have a HP Color LaserJet 2600n connected to my main PC, with 2 other PC's on the network.  All 3 run Windows 7.  Printing from my main PC works fine, but if I try to print over the network, the print job always gets stuck in the queue.  I can see it stuck in the queue on my main PC, but I can't do anything about it.  I can't delete it, nothing.  If I restart the spooler, then it magically prints and clears the queue, but it's annoying to have to do that all the time.  I've reinstalled the drivers several times to no avail.  Tips?
    RPGillespie

I have a similar problem, I have a directly connected 1300 and a network P3015. The 1300 is connected via USB, the 3015 is connected by RJ45 cable right to the router. Both printers have their print queues get stuck, but only from my HP Pavilion Elite HPE running HP-installed Windows 7. All the other machines in the office can use the 3015 printer perfectly well. One is an older Pavilion using XP-Pro, another is a Dell using XP-Pro and the third is a Lenovo laptop using Windows 7. All our toners are not refills (seems like a stupid suggestion that the toner cartridge could cause a queue to lock up). The problem is definitely between my machine and the HP printers. I have a Brother printer and a couple of Seiko/Epson printers that all work perfectly fine.
Rebooting several times a day is getting old.

  • Clear Print Queue HP P1102w LaserJet

After printing to my wireless HP P1102w LaserJet, the print queue does not clear/empty.  So, when I print, again, the printer does not respond because there are queued docs to print, yet.  I can physically delete the queue, but this is cumbersome.  And, I am not the only user of the printer. It took forever to get the proper drivers loaded by using Apple Update.  Finally, the printer prints, whether using wireless or Wi-Fi. But, the document remains in the queue. Any ideas?  Or, is this an HP problem?

I just went through this myself. It is basically as fede says. You need cups installed and running, and hplip installed. Some of the printers require a plugin (like my LaserJet 1018), and that may be why you get the message 'filter failed'. I got it too.
You have to run hp-setup to get the plugin BUT hp-setup won't run properly without a /usr/bin/python symlinked to python2.7 . Either create that symlink or as fede says, if you already have one that points to python3, delete that symlink and create a new one pointing to python2.7, and then run hp-setup. It will run fine and your printer should work.
On my other computer I have Ubuntu 12.10 and I noticed they have /usr/bin/python symlinked to python2.7 as a standard, that's why hp-setup ran correctly on it the first time. When I did a basic install of Arch recently it only installed python2, but there was no symlink of python -> python2.7 included in the package. If you install python3 (also known as python), you get the symlink of python -> python3. It's all a bit confusing, but I think if we only have python2 installed it might be a good idea to include the symlink python -> python2.7 in the package. Seems to me this confusion has been going on for a couple of years? I think I will leave my symlink python -> python2.7 in place.
