HP Laserjet Pro 100 MFP M175nw

Hi, I am having problems connecting the printer wirelessly to the MacBook Pro. I have downloaded the printer software and everything seems to be set up ok. In the System Preferences it reconises the printer and says the printer is ready or idol. But when it comes to printing out a document, once I have sent a document to print my laptop then says 'The printer is not connected' in the settings???
I have done a Wireless Nework Test Report from the printer. In the Diagnostics summary the network Name (SSID) says it has failed and unconfigured, but I do not know how to rectify this?
I'm having this problem with two MacBook Pro laptops. One is running on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 the other is running on OS X 10.8.2
Regards
Susanna

You could be having one of two problems, either the printer will not maintain a wireless connection or it just need to connect again.  I will post two documents in order then.  The first one explains how to set the printer back onto the network (I recommend using the USB cord for this process but there are multiple ways - see documentation).
--Installing the Product on the Network--
If you read through the document and find it doesn't directly address the problem, then I think this one will help you the most.
--Printer is Offline--
Both documents have instructions for both of your computers so they should be most helpful.  Let me know if you need any assistance with these.
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.

  • HP Laserjet Pro color MFP M175nw

Ok i am after a little help here. Had my printer runing perfect for the last 27 months. So i have made my own network at home and wanted to change the units ssid and make it seqcure with a password and use the WiFi setup.  This is one of those moments where i keep kicking myself for wanting to move it into another room as i have had faultless use of the printer untill now. Ive only gone and forgot the password to the 192.168 bit. Never needed it until now. So with not remembering it all, I got the install disc out and have tried everything, Even read up on printing straight from the printer the different settings. No joy. Took the software off it 3 times now and reinstalled it trying to reset the silly thing, Doing all this has left me with another issue now, I can not get all the drivers on the pc now, as in. I click start, look down the programs and finf HP click and go in to it, all that is in there now is update , lost the scanning drivers etc. Its now 1am and i have been on this all flipping day and i could do with a little help, Also sorry about my speeling and grammer
     Cheers Mark

Just bought this new a few day's ago and each page of print has about 20mm wide streak missing print running down the centre. what can I do to correct this problem? I have tried printing a cleaning page a couple of times and calibrating color from the Print Quality Menu also a couple of times but this has made no difference. I'm using a Premium quality paper for use in laserjet printer's. Could someone please advise me what I can do. Thanks in anticipation.

    Hi Watcher35,
I see that the new Laserjet Pro 100 MFP M175NW is missing print down the center of the pages, you have ran cleaning and color calibration but the issue is not resolved.
Would this be an accurate example of the issue: but with the "Bb" would be completely missing?
This HP document: Resolving Print Quality Issues may take you though some of the same steps you have already done, I suggest not skipping any steps.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here.

  • Want to print remotely to my HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw

    Hello! I have a
HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw printer in my office. It is connected to my wifi network from the office and i can use it from several laptops from office with no issue.
Now i want to be able to print and scan papers from my home pc also which is connected to my home wifi network.
I found there it is possible to print pages over internet. Except hpeprint option, how can i add printer from office to printer list from my home pc.
    Please help me.
    Thanks!

    Hi Tolick,
Thank you becoming a member of the HP Support community. I understand that you have an HP Laserjet 100 at your office and you would like to be able to print to it when you are at home.
Super_Dave is correct with the solution he gave you. I just wonder if you have set up the ePrint feature of your Laserjet yet and customized the ePrint email address?  If you have then using the ePrint software that you installed on your laptop should allow you to print to your office printer from home. The instructions on how to do this are in the HP ePrint Software User Guide on page 16 in the section titled "Use HP ePrint (Windows)".
If you haven't set up the ePrint feature of the printer I have included a two documents for your reference. The first one is how to get the claim code and the second is how to setup the customized ePrint email address. This may the step that is missing to make the ePrint software work for you.

  • HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw unable to communicate with product

    Hi guys,
I've had a HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw for 12months now and it has worked great over my wireless network. I recently upgraded from router from a 5 year old single band router to a late model dualband wireless N router.
Since i did this my HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw was unable to reconnect to my new network.
I have uninstalled the drivers and have tried reinstalling the drivers but each time (after I select Connect the Product/Coonect through wireless network, have tried both Yes retrieve the wirelss settings on my computer and No I will enter the wirelss settings manually) but no matter which I select the printer is installed successfully but then gets stuck at 15% and says cannont communicate with the product.
I have disabled my firewall during the installation and have only used the USB cable when the installation has asked me to do so.
The printer is visible in control panel but each time I do a test print or send something to the printer in the sys tray the print job is shown but nothing ever happens.
The installation will work fine if I install it via the directly connect to the computer using USB option.
If I do a test print fromt he printer itself by going into the network setting, network test it prints a page that says:
    Wireless On Pass
    Wirelss Working Pass
    Network Name SSID Found Fail
    Security Fail
Your HP printer cannot find your wirelss router. The WPA authentification method on your HP has changed fromt he default setting.
Is there anyway I can edit the SSID network name and password without having to do this install process?
This is really frustrating. Just spent 3 hours with HP support which got me know where (they were reading the script the supplied me) and then when I rebooted and went to go back to online chat support the website tells me their support is only available during business hours!
    Any help would be great

OK time to back up totally.   I need to make sure you are following the instructions in the user guide to install this printer.  Please start from scratch by uninstalling all software from your computer and outline every step to make sure it is correct.
You have to use the USB cable to set up the wireless connection.
Go here for the User Guide and all installation info.  Get your drivers and troubleshooting info here too.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5076465
The reason we have to start over is that you started the software installation when you changed your router.  You don't have to do this, but now we do.

  • HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw does not connect to wireless network

I recently upgraded my wireless network router. I had my HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw connected to the old wireless network router. The SSID is password protected (WPA2)
I need to connect the printer to the new wireless network router. However, neither the control panel nor blue wireless connection button provide any way for me to do this. The manual has not walked through a way to do this.
There really needs to be a simple, no-nonsense way to just connect the printer to the wireless network. How do I connect this printer to a new wireless network?

    Hi @shakayumi ,
I see that you are having issues configuring the printer on the new router. I would like to help.
    Restore the printer's network defaults.
    Touch the Setup button. (wrench)
    Select Network Setup Menu.
    Then select Restore Defaults.
Print out a configuration report to make sure the IP address is 0.0.0.0 and the SSID is cleared.
    Printing a Configuration Report.
Here are the directions for setting up the printer through the Wireless Direct to configure the printer over the network as Infrastructure.
Turn the Wireless Direct on the printer.
On the printer touch the setup button, (wrench) then select network setup menu, select wireless menu, select wireless direct and turn it on.
On the computer, in the bottom right corner click on the wireless icon and select the printer from the list to connect to. Then open Internet Explorer and type in the IP address (192.168.223.1) for the printer in the address bar.
This will load the embedded web server for the printer.
Select the networking tab, wireless on the left hand side.
Fill out all your network information, select infrastructure, select your network name, put in password and type of encryption. Apply settings.
Click on the wireless icon and connect back to your network name.
Print out a configuration report to make sure the IP address is valid. (192... or 10....)
Now create a new port, this will save you the time, instead of uninstalling and reinstalling the software.
Go to Start, Devices and Printers, right click the printer, go to Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.
Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.
Type in the proper IP address for the printer.
Make sure the printer is online.
    Test the printer.
If you are still having issues, then try this method:
If you have a Ethernet cable, connect it from the printer to the router.
Wait about a minute, print the configuration page to see if you get a IP address.
Then type the IP address into Internet Explorer's address bar to bring up the printer's web page.
Select the networking tab, wireless on the left hand side.
Fill out all your network information, select infrastructure, select your network name, put in password and type of encryption. Apply settings.
    Then disconnect the Ethernet cable.
Then wait a minute to see if you get a wireless light on the printer, print the configuration page and check the IP address again. Then type the IP address into Internet Explorer's address bar to bring up the printer's web page.
If the printer is back on the network, create a new port. Steps are listed above.
Make sure the printer is online.
    Try and print now.

  • HP Laserjet Pro 100 Color MFP M175nw installation issue

    Hello,
I have a problem installing my HP Laserjet Pro 100 Color MFP M175nw wirelessly. Back in time when I first installed it, it took me a few installations, but suddenly it was installed. Now after a lot of tries, I still get stuck at the part where the USB cable have to be used to pass the network details to the printer. It get stuck at 15% and after a while it gives the error that I have to connect my printer, although it is plugged and the installation initially continued.
When I put my cable, Win7 is also itself installing the printer, can that be the issue?
Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Laserjet pro 100 color mfp m175

We have a number of HP LaserJet Pro 100 Color MFP M175's in our school.  They are connected to the network via ethernet cable rather than wirelessly. A number of users print to them either from a Windows XP (running service pack 2) desktop or from a Windows 7 (newly built) laptop.  They were working fine for a few days and then all of a sudden they may have any of the following problems:
unsupported personality error printed at the top of a lot of pages (ie you may try and print one page but hundreds of pages come out with this error).
there may be an invalid driver error on the control panel on the printer
there may be weird alien-looking characters at the top of hundreds of blank pages
initially all of the printers had the driver installed that came with the printers, when we started getting the error, we then tried running the diagnostics doctor on the hp web site, which said all the drivers were valid.  We have also tried using the universal print driver from the HP support website, but still get the problem after a few days.  We can make all of the errors go away by re-installing any of the above drivers, but then the problem starts happening again after a few days. The server is Windows 2003R2 running service pack 2, we have tried installing the drivers on the server too, but they won't install. Another printer was set up this week in the school office which only has people printing from Windows 7 machines and doesn't have the error - this could be because it's too soon to happen yet, or maybe because there are no Windows XP machines printing to it? (It does print through the same server as the others)  Help would be greatly appreciated, we are a school and so can't afford to be wasting lots of paper, plus this is taking up all of our time rather than fixing other issues!  thanks in advance

Tammy, sounds like there could be a couple things that might cause this issue. The first of which is that the RJ45 cable you are using to connect the printer might have become corrupted. I would replace that cord and see if the issue remains.
Second, I want you to see about updating the firmware from this website :
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=5076465
If that still presents issues, you can use that same website to download the more recent drivers. I would uninstall the old version you have on the computer and then open that link and install the full feature software.
Let me know how that goes and I will get right back with you!
I hope you are having a wonderful week, and I hope that the weather where you are located is as beautiful there as it is here!

  • Scanner icon lost HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M177fw

HP Model:  HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M177fw
After "updating" drivers on my IMac my Scanner disappeared and I have not been able to Scan for over a month.  I just started a new business and this is debilitating!  Can anyone shed any light on this? I do have Yosemite and will unintall it to get my Scanner back if that's what it takes.  However, HP should "fix" this issue immediately; afterall, I spent close to $400 on this JetPrinter and am willing to return it.

    Hi @BertieBaby ,
I see that you are having issues with scanning after updating drivers on the Mac. I will certainly do my best to help you.

If you didn't, please download and install them from this link. HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M176/M177 Series Software.

    Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left.
Click Verify and then Repair Disk Permissions.
    Restart the computer..
    Reset the Printing System:
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Click the Apple icon and then click System Preferences.
    Click Printers & Scanners.
Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
