HP Laserjet Pro 200 printing random rectangles in the middle of images

My HP Laserjet Pro 200 color printer is printing random rectangles in the middle of certain images. It doesn't do it all the time, usually it's with any images that are grey, blue, green or brown. I installed brand new HP compatable cartridges and the issue is still happening. I've shut down the printer and restarted it, I've ran the test page and it comes out perfect! Please help.  Heather Whittle

This seems to be a commercial product. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!

I keep getting the low memory message.  Then it won't print.  I've tried some solutions on this page and elsewhere on the web and nothing works.  Frankly, this is complete **bleep**.  HP clearly knows that many people are having this problem, yet they do nothing except offer more and more fanciful crapola "solutions."  We don't have all day to change out every driver and find this firmware and that software and this webpage.  WE JUST WANT A **bleep**ING PRINTER THAT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello , Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! I see you are trying to print to your HP Laserjet Pro 200 but you are getting a 'Low memory' error message.  After some research I was able to find this possible solution by fellow Community member @AuntieEm: Re: LaserJet CP1525nw says "Memory Low" and will not print Let me know the outcome, I will watch for your reply.

  • HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw. The fax forwarding feature no longer will forward a fax.

I am using the HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw.  Is it possible to forward the fax as a email instead of printing it out?  The current fax forwarding feature only supports forwarding to another fax number but not email.  If fax forwarding to email is not support, is there any other solution?

Hi @Albert1024 ,  I understand that you aren't able to forward the faxes. I can help you today.
You can only forward that faxes from the printer to the fax number.
Check to make sure the Fax Forwarding didn't get turned off and it is still showing the correct fax number.
    1.  From the Home screen, touch the Fax button.
    2. Touch the Fax Menu button.
    3. Touch the Receive Options button.
    4. Touch the Forward Fax button, and touch the On button.
    5. Use the keypad to enter the fax-forwarding number, and then touch the OK button.
    Turn off the Private Receive.
    1.  From the Home screen, touch the Setup button.
    2. Touch the Fax Setup menu.
    3. Touch the Advanced Setup menu.
    4. Scroll to and touch the Private Receive button, and then touch the Off button.
Clear out the saved faxes, to make sure this isn't causing any issues.
Go to Setup on the printer, Services, Fax Service and select Clear Saved Faxes.
Update the printer's firmware. HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw Drivers.
If you are still having issues, we can try a full reset on the printer.

  • Which inf file to use for HP LaserJet Pro 200 color m251nw, when updating the driver?

My printer is LaserJet Pro 200 color Printer M251nw. I visited the support page and found there is a newer driver.
    Driver (61.117.01.15301)
Currently my driver version is 61.117.1.11493. I want to upgrade the driver.
After downloading and unzipping the files into the folder, I found there are 3 inf files in the folder:
    hpcm251u.inf
    hpcm251c.inf
    hpbuio70l.inf
So which one should I install? I am disappointed at the lack of information and inconvenience in upgrading the driver.

    Hi CJKim,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are trying to update the driver and are not sure which .inf to choose.
I will be happy to help you.
Since it is running through the add printer wizard you can select any one of the .inf files you listed

  • HP Laserjet Pro 200 Printer Not Responding Wirelessly to Macbook Pro 13 Using Mavericks OS

My printer has worked fine wirelessly since upgrading to Mavericks in Jan 2014.   Last week my printer stopped responding both wirelessly and with the cable.  I can print wirelessly from my I-Phone and I-Pad.  I have reset the printers (deleted them) and reinstalled the printer software (downloaded software for Mavericks), and now the printer and scanner functions work only with the cable installed.  I can once again print wirelessly using my I-Phone and I-Pad, but not from my MacBook.  I am connected to the same network, and I am able to access the Internet and have all other network functionality, I just can't get the Mac to recognize the printer over the network.  During setup, it doesn't even recognize the printer over the network.  Any insight would be appreciated.  Thanks.

    Hi P3scott,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see by your post that you are unable to get the printer recognized on the Mac through the wireless network.
I will be happy to help you.
Try and ping the printer on the Mac.
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, then click applications, then Network Utilities.
(you can go to the finder and type in Network Utilities)
Click on PING from the bar at the top of the window.
Enter the IP Address of the printer and click Ping.
Did you get any replies back?
If you are not able to add the printer by the default button from the printers and scanners window then you need to make sure the router supports bonjour packets and can do multicasting. You can contact your router company.
The router might have just had a update causing this issue.
Since the Mac is not seeing the printer automatically then you could try manually adding the IP address in.
You can add the printer as a IP Protocal to see if it will work.
Go to the Apple, system preferences, printers and scanner, (some systems print and fax) click the  + button, then select the IP icon across the top, type in the printer's IP address, select jet direct below and then apply the settings.
What is the full name and product number of your printer? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
    (m251 or the m276)
    Hope this helps.

  • LaserJet Pro 200 Color MFP - Print a page, can't scan until you reboot

Brand new LaserJet Pro 200, print a page from a Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10. Prints perfectly.Print as many pages as you wish, perfectly prints.Try to scan:Either from the Flatbed or auto feederEither from the on board display or from your PCEither from Adobe or some other PDF solutionThe scan will come out with vertical lines throughout the page. Reboot the scanner.Try again:Either from the Flatbed or auto feederEither from the on board display or from your PCEither from Adobe or some other PDF sThe scan will be perfect. Again, doesn't make a difference on the OS, where the scan call is from, or how you scan. Any print leads to a bad scan. The printer has the latest flash and all workstations are using the latest scanner drivers.Any ideas?

Hi , Thanks for getting back to me! It's not abnormal to see some print quality issues once your toner is lower that 20%. Were you able to complete the steps in the document that I sent? Is there any cyan on the print quality printout at all? If not, it could be a defective toner cartridge. I would suggest contacting HP Support to inquire about a replacement if it is a Genuine HP toner cartridge.**Fill in the model number and the form to receive a case number for quicker assistance. If a replacement toner cartridge does not resolve the issue, then it's possible that the printer may need to be serviced. Hope this helps! Thanks again for posting, and have a great day.

  • 49 Service Error - Turn Off then On - LaserJet Pro 200 M276nw

I was adding to another post for a different printer but didn't want anyone with MY printer to MISS this problem.
***UPDATE*** (at least for my LaserJet Pro 200 M276nw)
I have found the root cause but will need further assistance from someone at HP to "solve" this one....
My new M276nw keeps throwing a 49 Service Error, chat support yielded alot of power off, power on, wait, try again blah blah blah, fuser problems blah blah. 10 minutes of forum searching put me onto possible wireless networking issues with other printers and SSID's. Anyway after returning one printer to Staples and having the problem come up again on a another brand new one....Tried Forum searching & Tada! at least I got to find a root cause.
I have a D-Link DIR-825 wireless router. It has dual band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz).
Normally I have both enabled for the myriad of devices that people have these days in my home.
I updated the firmware to the latest update (20121026) then restarted.
Received the 49 Service Error shortly after restart.
Then I disabled both bands to test each wireless band independently.
The printer acted normally so I decided to enable each band seperately.
When I enable the 2.4 GHz band in the router, the printer immediately throws a 49 Service Error.
I tested this several times (5 to be exact) and each time during the router reboot the printer indicated the error.
So I left the 2.4 GHz band disabled and went on to the 5 GHz band.
I enabled the 5 GHz band 3 times and disabled it and found no effect on the printer (at least within a 5 minute window).
So now I'm left with only a single band wireless router or a printer that likes to restart itself every 20 minutes or so.
There is probably a setting (or 2) that can be tweaked in either the router or the printer that can prevent this (I hope).
I just need to find the right HP person............
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

I really wish I could help but I am afraid this is a bit beyond my level of comprehension.  What I took from this was, you have to turn off the duel band feature to get the printer to work without that error message, correct?  The User Guide may help you but when I tried to read it my mind was blown away by just how many settings could be adjusted to fit your needs.  No need to do anything troulbeshooting-wise just yet.  All I need for you to do is look at page 137 on how to set sleep delay and auto power down functions and page 132 for link and duplex settings and let me know if you think it could be something to do with these.
As far as a setting within the router, I do not know.  I did find another user guide with very technical information in it. The Software Technical Reference hinted to bi-directional printing which basically turns off or on the print spooler if the printer was so big it was using up network resources but I am not sure of that at all (see Page 59 for an example). Page 89 and on is a brief introduction to the embedded web server but really these are just definitions, nothing new to report there.
This website hints that it may be a firmware error. Lastly, the only other thing I can offer as you have probably seen it yourself is another HP forum thread regarding your exact error.  I know I won't be of much assistance but some hopefully is better than none. I'm just glad it works partially.  Let me know if I can answer any questions for you but this is just a step out of my league. Good luck!
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.

  • HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw Wireless option is gone!!!

I have a HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw.  The blue lit wireless icon used to stay on steady and all was fine for quite a while, then the Blue icon would start flashing like it lost it connection to the wireless router.  I would just recycle the power on the printer and let it reboot.  Usually it would connect with the router again but, it's been getting worse lately.  I figured I would try to the latest firmware to the printer as maybe there was a clitch with the original firmware.........Well, now I get no blue wireless icon and the wireless menu disappeared from the touch screen.  I tried to access the wireless settings in the web browser, the program said "this product does not support wireless connectivity.......WHAT?!!!!!  I tried a "cold reset" on the printer to clear everything and still have no wireless option.  I suppose its going to stick with the same firmware that was last installed.  I did notice that the printer lists itself with an "N" at the end of the model # on any printed report instead of the "NW" its supposed to be.  I did download the printer firmware from the Pro 200 color MFP M276nw support page.  it's acting like it now has the firmware for the non-wireless version of this printer.   This is the firmware I used
    file name:
    M276_colorMFP_Series_FW_Update-20140521.exe [1/1, 14.32M]
.  Any Ideas how to fix this?  Seems like this is the wrong firmware for this printer.  Everything else appears to work ok.
    Bob

****UPDATE****  After running a few copies through the printer the wireless feature showed up again.  The printed reports started to show this printer with the "NW" at the end of the model number instead of just the "N".   After a few minutes it all went away again.  Seeing the correct model number show up for a few minutes made me believe the correct printer firmware is installed.  To make this a short story, I ordered the wireless PCA assy (Small internal wireless circuit board, HP part #1150-7940) and replaced it.  It's been working great for the past few days( since the board was replaced).   Apparently,  if the system does not see a working wireless board it defaults to the non-wireless model number and the wireless option disappears from the menu screen.  The other thing is there apparently is no fault code that covers this type of failure.....frustrating, to say the least.  I will update if this is not the fix but, it looks like I got it!
    Thanks!!!!!!!
    Bob

  • HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw - No Embedded Web Server (Port 80 not even showing open)

The embedded web server on our LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw is not responding and a port scan of the printer shows that port 80 is not open. We have power cycled the printer and that did not resolve the issue.
Is there a way to check the status of the embedded web  server through the control panel on the printer?
Are there any other steps we can take to restore the embedded web server?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello csandrews68,
I see you have an LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw that the Embedded Web Server will not load, port 80 shows as closed.
I suggest restoring the network defaults on the printer:
From the home screen on the printer push Setup (wrench and gear icon)
Go to and select Network Setup
    Push Restore Defaults
With defaults restored, connect the printer back to the network and try to load the EWS.
Let me know if that helped.

  • Laserjet Pro 200 m276n fax not answering when in sleep mode

    Hi,
We just bought a new Laserjet Pro 200 MFP M276n. When the device goes to sleep mode, it doens't recognise any incoming fax call. When the device is on, and someone tries to send us a fax, the device recognises the call, answers and receives the fax.
We tried to update the firmware to the latest version but we still have the same problem.
We use the original HP cables to connect the device to the line and when we tried to replace the device with a telephone cord, the phone rang normally. So I believe the problem is somehow on when the device is in sleep mode
    Can anyone help us?
    Thanks

    Hi @Fedias,
I understand that when the printer goes into sleep mode, it doesn't wake up to receive a fax. I can help you with this.
Check the settings for the Wake Events on the printer.
Go to setup, System Setup, Energy Settings, Auto Power Down, Wake Events, arrow down and select Fax Ring.
This should wake up the printer when a fax comes through.

  • LaserJet Pro 200 color mfp m276 Printing issues

I have had this printer for about a year now.  Now it has started printing solid black lines across the page I am printing, whether it be from my computer or a fax.  I can run the cleaning process from the printer and its fine for a few hours and then back to the solid black lines.  It gets so bad there is more ink on the paper than white when it does this.  Have tried everything I can think  of to cure this to no avail.  I am running hp cartridges and just plain white paper.  Any ideas as to how to fix this.  These lines are thick lines, just not _____ but are about 1 " wide each.
I really need help with this really soon or I will have to replace it with another brand.  I use this in my office and can't have important faxes coming across with all these lines so I can't read it.  I posted this Saturday and still waiting for someone to respond.

    Hi @RandallRaley ,
I understand that when printing, you are getting solid black lines across the paper and now on the back of the paper. You are using HP cartridges, plain paper and have ran the cleanings with the same result. I can help you today.
Try another type of 20lb -24lb plain paper to see if you have the same results.
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Update the printer's firmware. HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw Drivers.
Select your operating system, click next, click the link for firmware.
    Try printing again.
If the issue persists, follow the steps for aligning and cleaning the toners, printing a Print Quality page, inspecting the toner for damage, checking the paper and driver settings to see if this will resolve the issue.

What kind of paper are you using?
What is the weight of the paper?
Was there any black on the toner?

    Hello revlib,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Turning off the Wireless Direct on the LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw should have disabled the SSID from broadcasting. Since disabling from the front display did not resolve, let us try from the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
To access the EWS you need to enter the I.P address for the M251nw into the address bar of your web browser. The I.P address can be collected by touching Setup ()> Reports> Network Summary.
Once in the EWS, click Network> Wireless Direct Setup> select Off and Apply.
Let me know if this has help

    Hi @nocastaway,
I see by your post that you can't print multiple copies. I can help you with this.
From the application your printing from, go to File, Print, Number of copies select 2. Uncheck Collate. You can now change the number of copies. Collate should now stay unchecked.
Try printing the multiple page document again.
You might have to disable all the startup items, to see if there is another program causing this issue.
How to use MSCONFIG. Click on the Startup tab and disable all.
    Test the printer.
Then go back in and enable all from the Startup tab.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor if you are still having issues. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?

  • Issue Printing One or Two Checks on HP LaserJet Pro 200 MFP M276nw

I just purchased an HP LaserJet Pro 200 MFP M276nw which replaces an HP Color LaserJet 2605dn.
I've run into an issue printing checkes from Quicken when I print less than a full sheet (one or two) checks.
With my old printer, I used the manual feed for a partial sheet.
Since the new printer does not have a manual feed, I have to put the partial sheet in the paper tray.
It seems one of two things happen:
    1) Sometimes the printer will print the partial page but then displays an error message which says something like "Unexpected paper size, load letter."
It then re-prints the partial page on the next sheet of paper.
    2) Othertimes, it prints the partial page without the error message, but then feeds the next sheet of paper throught the printer.
In either case the next page contains the next three checks, so it's either wasting checks or printing on the wrong check numbers.
Any suggestions on how to avoid these issues would be appreciated.

    Me too.
I've been using an alternate printer for printing the checks, but I'd rather get rid of the old one. (The HP Laser Pro 200 takes up a lot of space!)
KC, Seems like you've been waiting for an answer for a VERY long time.  I'm not going to hold my breath.
