HP Laserjet Pro M1217nfw, support for ePrint Home&Biz on Android devices

Got my new LaserJet Pro M1217nfw installed on my home (secure)wireless network and am printing wirelessly from 3 windows laptops.
Started trying to get my smartphones to connect and print to it. Droid X Verizon, running gingerbread latest Verizon update. Download ePrint and ePrint Home & Biz to it. Upgraded my printer to latest firmware and SmartInstall, got an EPrint email address assigned to it. Am able to ePrint from phone just fine, but Home & Biz does not print, it detects printer and says has printed the file, doc, or pic but nothing comes out on the printer. I see from your lists of supportted printers that it is not
supported on th 1217nfw. Is it planned to work on it in the future? Can you give my some hints or workarounds if it is possible to get Home and Biz to work?
I tried the Wireless Direct feature on the printer, but really don't understand its purpose, since the printer and my phone are both
connected to my local wireless network, why does the wireless direct use a different SSID and assigned a fixed IP address?
anyway disabled that feature.
Thanks for any help!

At this time ePrint Home&biz app is not supported on the HP Laserjet Pro M1217nfw. Other than ePrint using the printer emial address there isn't another solution with an Android device.

    Thank you for clarifying.
Dlink routers provide Multicasting support disabled by my erxperience.
Try the following steps and then check for any change:
Enter the router EWS page by typing its IP address.
From the top menu click Advanced.
From the left menu click Advanced Network.
Make sure the Multicast Streams checkbox is selected.
Click Save Settings to apply and reboot the router.
Make sure the devices have reconnected and check for any change,
If there still having issues, I would recommend you to update the latest firmware for your router:

  • HP ePrint Home & Biz failing to find Business Inkjet 1200 on wireless network

I am trying to set up printing from my phone over my local network to an HP printer.
I have downloaded the HP ePrint Home & Biz app onto a Samsung SII runningAndroid  v4.0.4 the app cannot find the HP Business Inkjet 1200 (C8156A) on the wireless network.
    1) The printer is functional and other devices can print to it
    2) The phone is able to conect wirelessly to the printer via a browser connection
    3) The printer is on a fixed IP number
    4) The BI 1200 is listed on the supported models page for ePrint Home & Biz app
    5) I have registered the app with ePrint but should be able to connect via the local wireless network
I tried to use the Connect Manually option but it is tring to get me to supply an ePrint e-mail address. Do I really have to register the printer on ePrint to get this app to work?
As someone else said why not have an app that just formats the print job and sends it to the local printer?

The app can actually do what you want and print over the local network.
It sounds like what you are doing is going to settings, and then manage eprinters, and trying to add the device there. This section is only for eprint capable devices, and allows you to print to them even when you are not at the same location.
Go back to the home screen of the app.
Select a photo or document from within the app.
Simply push on the area near the bottom of the screen that may show a printer, or if its never printed it may just have a down arrow.
From here you should be able to click on printer and choose your printer.
The above method will simply search the local network for supported devices, and does not require any registration of the app.

  • HELP! HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw MFP Wireless setup

I cannot set up my HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw MFP to print wirelessly. I do not have a router and bought this machine because I was told this printer was an easy ad hoc install. I have a MacBook that runs OS X 10.6.8.
4 hours later and I'm dying here! SO NOT HAPPY!
    Thanks in advance!

I just spent the last two days on this and have finally sorted it out. It actually isn't that hard to do but for some reason, no one has consolidated the information in one place!
First and foremost, make sure that you have all the latest and greatest firmware updates for your printer, your computer and your mobile devices.
Next, you need to connect your printer to your network via an ethernet cable, this is the only way to get in to the printer softare to configure it for your wireless network.
Navigate the printer menus on the keypad to Reports>Config Report and print this report. It will provide you with the IP adress and IPv4 address for the printer.
With the printer connected to your network and powered on, point your browser to the IP address of the printer. If this doen't work (it didn't for me) use the IPv4 address.
This will open the configuration panel for the printer and will let you configure the wireless for the printer so that it can join your wireless network. You will see various tabs across the top. Select network. Then along the left you will see wireless. Choose that. Now you should see a list of wireless networks available including your very own home network. Choose that one, enter your password and hit apply.
Disconnect the ethernet cable and you should be ready to Airprint from all devices. This worked for me, I can't imagine it won't work for all...then again...

  • HP ePrint Home&Biz for HP 2600n

Your page for the above Android app says, "Compatible with all smartphones and tablets that run Android 2.1 or later. Works with HP ePrint-enabled printers, legacy networkable printers and all-in-ones."
I'm trying to print on my HP Color LaserJet 2600n using the Android "HP ePrint Home&Biz" app on my Android smartphone / tablets (I have four!).
Each smartphone / tablet can immediately see the printer (which is connected via wired Ethernet to my home WiFi router) on my local LAN, by both printer name and DNS name.  When I attempt to print, the yellow "progress bar" advances across the screen, and I see network traffic between the smartphone or tablet and the printer, but then I get "Print job failure" on the tablet, and continuous network traffic (does not stop) on the WiFi router between the two devices, until I kill the Android "HP ePrint Home&Biz" app.  Further, the status panel and lights on the printer remain as if idle.
Note:  Android app "PhotoBot" prints, but only in B&W (!?!?!?), and I think the HP app is better in other respects as well (as soon as I can get it to print!!)
    Any ideas?

  • HP ePrint Home&Biz app not working. Print job failure:busy message appears on tablet

I have an HP Laserjet P1102W and am trying to print from a Viewsonic tablet (android OS) using the HP ePrint Home&Biz app.  I can send an email to the printer via the tablet and it prints the document with no problems.
I apologize in advance for the long message...
If I try and hit the PRINT key on the lower bar (which says 'HP Laserjet Professional P1102W (NPI7...host name), all that happens is blue & green LED's come on, green, blue flashes, green, blue flashes, green, blue flashes, then green and blue stay on steady.  Just before the blue and green come on steady at the end, the "print job failure:busy" message flashes on my tablet.
I assume the sequence of LED flashes is the HP printer receiving a print command 3 times and can not perform the task because the printer thinks it is busy.
After searching for this problem on the net, it would appear I am not the only person with this issue.  And yes, I have tried powering down my modem, printer, PC, and tablet and restarting all the above.  Not that the PC has anything to do with it, but I am desperate.
Does anyone have a viable working solution to this problem???

  • HP ePrint Home & Biz and HP3050 J610a and iPhone4

I realise that the HP3050 does not support eprint, I have however been able to connect my phone to the printer using HP ePrint Home & Biz app and scan a document,  when I turn the printer off then back on HP ePrint Home & Biz cannot see the printer.  I have tried the usual steps, power off printer and phone, power on phone then printer.  Unplug printer from wall etc, turn off bluetooth.  It seems to be random as well because sometimes it works other times it doesn't, lately I cannot get it to work.  Any ideas

    Hi RagDaz,
I wanted to first check on something you said here, the ePrint Home and Biz will only scan from ePrint capable printers.
Do you have the J610 or the J611 printer?  The 3050 J610 does not support ePrint and the 3050A J611 does support ePrint and thus scanning from the ePrint Home and Biz app.
    On to the question.
The behavior  you are describing has a couple possible causes:
    1. Poor signal strength - When the signal is strong enough, it works.  When the signal weakens, it does not work.
If  you suspect you might be having signal strength problems, try moving the printer and router into the same room and placing them about 6 feet apart.
    2. Router problem - Some routers need to be restarted from time to time.  Try powering off the printer, router and iPhone.  Turn the router, iPhone and printer back on in that order.  Wait for about 1 minute between, making sure the router had enough time to finish booting up before turning the iPhone back on.
    3. When it does not work,  make sure the iPhone is attached to the right network.

  • Hp eprint home&biz app cannot find my hp officejet 100 mobile printer please advise?

I own a vizio tablet and a HP Officejet 100 mobile printer!  I downloaded your Hp eprint home&biz app so I could print from my tablet and the download went will,  I also registered via email.  I went to print a form and your app could not locate my printer?  Please advise,
                                   Chuck

    Hi Chuck,
HP ePrint Home & Biz only provide print capabilities over wired or wireless (802.11) network connection, Bluetooth connection is not supported as well the specific model is not supported by the app.
Can I print from the HP ePrint mobile app using USB or Bluetooth?
No. You can only print directly to supported HP printers on a local wireless network.

    Hello Noddy1964,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398
Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
    Tap and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Update your device to the latest version of software.

  • Adobe files not printing text to HP Laserjet Pro CP1525nw via HP ePrint

    Hi
I have two HP Laserjet Pro CP1525nw printers setup with HP ePrint. When this was first installed it worked. I can send attachments to both printers successfully. My issue is when I send a pdf with both text and images included the images print but the text does not. Some of the original text is underlined, the lines show up but the text that is underlined does not. I end up with a printed version with images in the correct locations and black lines running horizontally accross the page which is the underlining for the missing text. Can anyone assist with this.
I have tested this from multiple email addresses and recieve the same error. The adobe file prints fine to another printer.

Are the PDF attachments being sent also crated with Adobe? IF the PDF attachments were not created through that program the ability for them to print cannot be guaranteed.  What is the main email client that you are sending the attachment from?

  • HP LaserJet Pro P1102w offline for win xp

    Hi!
    My problem is that:

I tried to disconnect printer and pc, I tried to disinstall and to reinstall all software and some new installing but xp never recognise printer in wifi. When I connect printer with usb became online also if configure printer connection in wifi. I'm sure that I installed printer via wifi, not usb. If i use my smartphone, printer is ok and print correctly. I tried to restore all xp services.  I can't format pc because I've some sensitive software .
    Help me please.
    Thank you very much
    Andreas

    Hi @Andreas89 ,
I see by your post that the printer is showing offline when trying to print through the wireless network, but you can print with the Smart Phone and you can access the printer's Embedded Web Server by the IP address. I will certainly do my best to help you.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
If you are still having issues, check the IP address on the computer to make sure it matches the printer's IP address.
Go to Start, Control Panel, Printers and Faxed, right click the printer, go to Printer Properties, select the Ports tab, click on Configure Port.
If they don't match then close the configure port window and click create a port and follow the wizard.
Type in the proper IPv4 address.
Make sure the printer is online.
    Test the printer.
I have provided this document to setup a Static IP address for the printer, to prevent this from happening in the future.
Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection.
Go to Solution four: Assign your printer a static IP address under the Windows link.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
