HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125nw

Hello All,
I have a problem using HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125nw from the network.
Printer works fine from WinXP, WinVista, and one Win7 but from some Win7 laptops it is impossible to use it.
On the issued laptops we have Win7 x64. Drivers install fine, no errors, printer status is displayed correctly, web page of the printer is available, but all printer jobs are going nowhere. Ussually without any message on the laptops nor on the printer. Sometimes with message, that job cannot be printed. Just after installation sometimes it is possible to print test page, but after laptops restart jobs are going into vanish.
Laptops and printer are connected by cable into the same switch.
I tried to find out what is the difference between config in computers with problems and the one which prints correctly but nothing seems to differ.  Port has the same IP, type, data format, speed, SNMP settings.
Meanwhile I found  HP Print and Scan Doctor troubleshooting software. I tested the printer connection - works fine, test page printed, but after it printing from WordPad go into vanish as previously?
Any suggestions... Please?
Kind regards
Gabriel

Hi GabrielG,
Thanks for providing that information.
Restart the printer.
Temporarily turn off any Firewalls, then test the printer again.
Are you using your own manual Static IP address or the one that was assigned to the printer?
Did you try connecting the Ethernet cable directly to the router and run the Add Printer Wizard and try printing again on the Computers that weren't printing?
I would try restoring the printer defaults if you are using your own manual IP.
Use the assigned IPv4 address and run the add printer wizard to test the non printing computers. Just to rule out a network issue.
Print a configuration page to get the printer's IPv4 address.
Printing a Configuration Report.
Try and access the Embedded Web Server for the printer.
Type the IP address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)
Did it load the page?
Find out what the computer is showing for the printer's IP by doing the following:
Go to Start, Devices and Printers, right click the printer, go to Printer Properties, select Ports tab, click Configure Port.
If they don't match then close the configure port window and click Create a Port and follow the wizard.
Type in the proper IPv4 address.
Make sure the printer is online.
Did they match?
If you created the new IP, test the printer or continue to the next step please.
Check the IPv4 address on the computer.
Go to Start, type run in the search box, type in cmd, then type ipconfig.
Check the IPv4 address.
Now check the IPv4 address for the printer.
Do the first 3 sets of numbers match?
Try and ping the printer.
In the same window, type ping printers IP address (space between ping and IP address)
What are the results?
Connect the printer by a USB cable and test the printer on the non working computers if the issue persists. This way we can rule out a network or software issue. Something might be interfering on the computer with the printing.
Are the computers setup for Admin Rights?
Let me know the outcome.
Thank You.

    Hi @Lorenzetti,
I see that you are having issues scanning from the HP Utility tool. I can help you with this today.
Did you download and install the drivers?
HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125/M126/M127/M128 Series Software.
Can you scan from the HP Scan Software?
How to Scan: OS X v10.9.
Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. The Airprint driver might be installed instead of the Printer's driver. (usually defaults to Airprint)
Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen should show the name.
If the printer name shows Airprint, then that is the Apple drivers. Delete it and add the printer name back in from the list. Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in.
    Try again.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!

  • HP Laserjet PRO MFP M125nw; scanner is not located wirelessly

Product name: HP Laserjet PRO MFP M125nw
Operating system: Windows 8.1 64 bit
This is a new MFP that I installed today. The printer works fine wirelessly but the scanner is not located wirelessly - it is found only with the USB connection. I get the following error message when I try to use the scanner wirelessly:
'The HP LJ M125126 Scan was not found'.
I have done the following to troubleshoot:
Uninstalled and reinstalled from the CD.
Uninstalled and re-installed the full drivers from the HP website.
Also tried the HP print and scan doctor. This says the full software solution is not installed on this computer and asks me to install the full soft ware solution which i had already done - step 2 - prior to using the scan doctor. I still keep getting the same error message.
I would be most grateful for your help please.
    Many thanks.
    Kind regards
    SSUN

    Hi @SSUN ,
I see that you are unable to scan over the wireless network, but you can scan by a USB connection. I would like to help.
Since you can scan by a USB connection, the software and drivers should be installed properly. There shouldn't be any issues with the Wia either.
Temporarily turn off the Antivirus Software. Just to make sure it isn't interfering.
If you are still having issues then check that the scanning ports on the router to make sure that they are open. You can contact the router company to check and open these ports 9220/9500/427 on the router.
What scanning software are you using?
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a great day!

    Hello,
May I kindly ask if there is a download location for the HP Scan Software for the HP LaserJet Pro MFP m125nw as the unit didn't come with a CD.

  • HP Laserjet PRO MFP M125nw; Wireless Driver installation problem in Win 8.1

Product name : HP Laserjet PRO MFP M125nw, product nr CZ173A
US Operating system: Dual Boot:   Win Vista home premium (32 bit) / Win 8.1 pro (32 bit)
The printer was installed under Vista in September 2014 and was and still is wireless printing and scanning without a problem.
Recently I tried to install the printer (wireless) under Win 8.1 and I downloaded the latest Full Feature software from HP.nl.
During installation the software installation package could not find the printer and installation was aborted.
I ran the printer self test / Configuration. The network Info and product info sheets were without  errors. A ping to the IP address of the printer was without a loss. The firewall indicated that HP software is accepted.
Off course I read everything on HP about this problem I followed every advice and repeatedly gave it a try. I even installed the usb cable solution ( USB was working ok) followed by your change connection instructions, but all in vain.
To my surprise HP was able to find my printer when I checked on http:// www.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpsupport/index.pl. However the printer was found in my local network as a HP Laserjet Pro M1132 multifunctional printer with product nr stars 3NW-01 which is not correct, however the found serie nr. of CNB7G3RC78 was correct.
The print and scan doctor made some changes to the software and after that I was able to print wirelessly, however the Scan doctor button did not react at all and using the program was not possible further. Starting the program again gave the same result.
Conclusion:       In Vista: HP wireless print and HP wireless Scan is working fine
In Win 8.1: HP wireless print is OK, HP wireless Scan cannot be installed !????
In Win 8.1: Windows Printer driver and Win Fax& Scan driver both wireless working ok
Remark: Reading the display is difficult in dim lit areas. The on / off button is brightly lit and this light should be used to enlighten the display instead.
A solution for the scanning problem would be appreciated.
    Kind regards

Hi @JWAH , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're experiencing driver issues. I'd like to help!
I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125/126 Series Full Software and Drivers.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • LaserJet Pro MFP M125nw again Refusing to print Documents

Hi Gemini, Good to hear from you again. I have found that applications that either didn't work after the upgrade or were un-installed by it could all be made good by re-installing the application. The only exceptions are the LaserJet and Photoviewer, the latter being nowhere to be seen! For the LaserJet I downloaded and reinstalled the software from the HP site (can't remember whether I un-installed the software direcly or not before hand - life has been hectic for days getting everything to work) and also updated the printer firmware. When the problem first occured in May I surmised that a Microsoft update was the cause of the problem (confirmed by your solution) and so it's happened again after this upgrade! What I don't understand is why some things print and others don't as I have zero expertise in the encoding methods used by  the applications for printing. Even some text prints work - from Notepad, the test print from the software installation and diagnostics from HP AiO software. The test print from Devices and Printers does not work. The results from both my laptops are identical (ASUS G73 and Lenovo E440), both on Win 10 Pro. Incidentally the Microsoft forum was unable to help last time and I don't hold out much hope from them this time. All the best.

Help!!! The problem I posted back in May and which Gemini02 skillfully resolved has now returned. All was well with printing from my two Windows 7 laptops (one on Pro, the other on Ultimate) but on updating both within the last two days to Windows 10 Pro then wham! The symptoms are exactly as before: 1. WordPerfect X7 (the latest version) and QuatroPro X7 will print a document containing a picture (say clipart), but not if it contains any typed text. 2. Excel 2010 similarly, but Word 2010 will not print anything. Neither will WordPad. 3. Notepad prints text! 4. Lotus 1-2-3 Release 9 and Lotus WordPro print a picture but not text. 5. Acrobat Reader will print any .pdf document. 6. The scanner works fine, and so does printing to a Canon InkJet. Both printers are on Wi-Fi. The solution proposed by Gemini02 was to set User Account Control to "Never notify" and this worked fine until Windows 10...... Does anyone have any other solution? My guess is that it is embedded somewhere in security tied in with the different transmission methods of the different programs and document types. Many thanks in anticipation!

  • LaserJet Pro MFP M125nw - Scan to app All-in-One Remote does not work

    Hi gurus,
Basically I have pruchased that super-printer and I am now trying to achieve scan to my mobile devices.
I have one iPad 2 on iOS 7, on 2 Android devices (smaller tablet and phone) both running Kitkat 4.4.2
I am trying to submit a scan from all these devices and retrieve the output within my mobile devices, actually this is fairly described here and concerns accurately my printer model :  http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02486319&tmp_task=useCategory&cc=us&destPage=pr...
    Unfortunately, What happens :
    - From my iPad, the AiO app states that my printer is not compatible with the application !!
    - From my 2 Android devices, the All-in-One Remote app will work fine, except the scan feature as nothing happens (well, when tapping either 'Preview' or 'Scan' button in the Scan section, I see a 'Cancel' button during 0,1 second and I am back to that scan section)
Any one could help please ???

  • HP Laserjet pro mfp m125nw not printing on windows 7

I have attempting to install this printer on my Windows 7 PC both as a wireless printer and as a straight USB connection .
    with wireless turned off.
Although the implementation always appears to execute successfully I am not able to print from the PC.
No errors are displayed and when doing a test print the print output appears for a split second in the printer's print queue and almost immediately is deleted and disappears.
I have turned the firewalls off (Norton 360 and Windows Defender) while doing all this but still no success.
I have run a variety of printer diagnostics (Windows Fixit, HP Print and Scan Doctor) and they all indicate everything is setup correctly.
I then attempted to install on a 2nd PC with Windows 8. This successfully installed 1st time and have now installed both as a wireless networked printer and as a USB standalone connection and everything works fine without any problems.
I don't understand why I can't successfully install on my PC with Windows 7 - in particular as a standalone USB connection.
Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

    Hi @DavidJS ,
I see that you are experiencing issues printing from the Windows 7 computer over a wireless connection and USB connection, but the Windows 8 computer is working. I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.
Clear the Spool folder and restart the Print Spooler.  How to Clear Current Print Queue In Windows Vista & Windows 7.
    Try printing again.
Try these steps for printing over the wireless network.
    I would power cycle everything.
Turn the printer and computer off.
Disconnect the power cable on the router for 10 seconds, then reconnect the power cable again.
Turn the computer on, then the printer.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Print out a configuration page to find out what the printer's IPv4 address is.
Check the port showing on the computer, to make sure it matches.
From Devices and Printers, right click the printer and left click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.
Click on configure port to view the IP address.
If the IP address doesn't match then create a new port with the new IP address.
    Close the configure port window.
Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.
Type in the proper IP address for the printer.
Make sure the printer is online.
    Test the printer.

    Hi @Martin1982,
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions, I do appreciate it.
Please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer.  The steps can be found in the Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection document.  It is Solution Three.  For the Primary DNS Server please use 209.244.0.3 and for the Alternate DNS server please use 209.244.0.4.  These are Level3’s public DNS servers.

  • LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw ePrint failures

We bought this printer several months ago.  My boss wanted a printer that could be printed to remotely.  I advised him to get one of the many Google Cloud Print ready printers out on the market, but the salesman at where ever he purchased this printer, told him the LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw was Google Cloud Print ready and that it also offered this amazing feature called HP ePrint.  The salesman was only half wrong.  Technically any printer is google cloud ready (at least in this braindead of a salesman's standards), as you just need to have it connected to a PC.  However, any notion that this printer is an ePrint printer is an outright lie.
So that I don't get bombarded with the normal responses from the "HP Experts," let me list all of the steps I've done:
First, few days I dealt with customer support.  Yes, dealt, as they were rude and ultimately had no information.  Even after the ticket got "escalated," the advanced tech support still had little to add.  I followed all of the steps for troubleshooting on the support pages as well as the forums.  I've changed to static ip's, google dns servers, power cycled all the devices, did a full printer system restore to bring it back to "out of the box" shape in terms of settings/firmware, tried wired/wireless/usb connections, changed routers, opened ports, disabled and reenabled web services, tried all of the above through the browser with direct ip settings prompts, updated firmware, and I'm sure countless other steps that I honestly don't even want to remember.
I was told the web services e-mail given contains the claim code needed for www.hpconnected.com.  When inserting it as required when adding a device, you'll get Unexpected Error unless it's feeling frisky, and then it gives the Invalid Claim Code prompt.  Let's not forget that when I originally signed up, it was hpeprint.com, and when signing in, they took you on the wonderful whirlwind of a redirects from it to hpconnected and back, never getting past the sign in process.
Eventually, I put this printer far far away from me.  Flash forward several months, and I've done all of the above and then some on top of updating to the latest firmware (which I had hoped would solve this issue finally).  Nothing.
When enabling web services, no information page is printed.  When trying to manually do so, we just sit and spin on the Connecting... screen on the LCD.  If I try to do anything related to the web services features, I get the same result, except in the lovely times it changes to Unable to connect to server.. etc.
Outside of the ePrint issues, this device is really nice.  But it is in no shape or form, an ePrint printer.  Fact is, if I wanted this printer without the ePrint functions, I could have saved money I'm sure.
While searching today for possible new solutions on the forums, I see the following thread:
Eprint on HP LaserJet Pro M127fw
An "HP Expert" advises this kid to use google cloud print, which although comical, is enraging.  This device has, and still is, being marketed as an HP ePrint featured printer.  You can see on the official HP website it's listed:
    HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw
or see the picture below. But as this other HP webpage shows, this printer is not listed as having these features:
    HP Web-Connected Printers
If anyone has any useful advice, or can get me in touch with the Experts of all "HP Experts," I would love you to my dying breath.  But more than anything, I really just want to know if this printer has, or ever will, have these features available. Because having it promoted on the boxes, in stores, on the websites, even having the LCD show settings for these features is nothing less than infuriating.

    Hi sunrotor,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see that you have had some issues with setting up the ePrint feature of your Laserjet Pro MFP M127fw printer.
Thank you for the very detailed post of things that you have tried. I had a customer who was able to connect with the ePrint servers when using a Level 3 Communications DNS server when trying to connect with their Laserjet Pro M125nw printer. I have included About.com’s list of Free & Public DNS Servers which the Level3 is the first one listed. Please try setting a manual IP address and manual DNS server for the printer using the Level3 servers instead of the public Google DNS servers.
I have also included a post by @VisionAiry that lists all the Incoming and Outgoing Printer Ports. Please ensure that the ports are available for using ePrint.
Please let me know how it goes.

    Hello @ Averus89,
    Welcome to the HP forum.
I understand you have done quite a lot to resolve your M176n and its connection to the ePrint service.
I would like to help you with this issue.
If the printer is not printing the web services info sheet, or allowing you to add it to HP Connected, I
    would set a manual DNS.
I wont go into great detail about setting this up. From your post, I feel you know your way around the printer and your network. If I am mistaken, let me know. I will go into detail.
    The DNS to try is:
    Primary: 209.244.0.3
    Secondary: 209.244.0.4
Set the DNS then try printing the web services info page again.
Let me know if this helps.

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw - PostScript support?

    Hi,
I'm looking to purchase a new printer/scanner/copier(/fax is a nice to have, but not mandatory), and I'm deciding between the following models:
HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw
HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw
PostScript support is important for me, and I know that the 175 has this.  However, I'm not sure about the 177, even after digging through several web pages and documents.  Here's what I found:
    - The main specs page for the 177 says that it supports "PCLm".  I'm not familiar with this PCL variant, so I don't know how it compares to PCL5 or PCL6, etc.  I was unable to find more information on "PCLm".
    - The "Software Included" section of Page 2 of the PDF datasheet for the 177 mentions "HP PostScript" driver.  This is the only place where I've seen any potential indication that the 177 supports PostScript.  This section also mentions a "PCLmS" driver.  I could not find any further information on "PCLmS".
    - The  for User Guide the 177 only mentions PostScript in a section that refers to ePrint.  However, it does not imply that the 177 itself supports PostScript.
    - The Product Specifications page (in the Support section of the HP site) for the 177 has a "Printing Specifications" section which lists only "PCL3 GUI" next to "Device languages".
I'm guessing that the 177 does not support PostScript, but does anyone have any more definitive information?  Also, is there a description of PCLm / PCLmS somewhere?
    Thanks!

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw fax to pc

I have just bought this printer and want to msend faxes to my pc.  I was told by PC world that it had this function.  So far I cant find it can anyone help.  Many thanks

Hi ,  I would be happy to help shed some light on the issue your are having with trying to setup this Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw to receive your faxes on your PC.  I have looked into this further for you, and I'm pretty sure this model doesn't support receiving faxes on your PC. You can double check to make sure I haven't missed it in the  COLOR LASERJET PRO MFP M177 User Guide.
I did however locate a different model, where in the manual does provide instructions on how to set this feature up but it is a black only printer. Its the LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw (again black only, no colour.)
Step 5 (Optional): Configure settings for receiving digital faxes (Windows) The product can save incoming digital faxes to a computer folder. Use the HP Digital Fax Setup Wizard to configure the settings. This feature is available only for Windows. 1. Click Start, and then click Programs. 2. Click HP, click the name of the product, and then click Digital Fax Setup Wizard. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure the settings.  HP also has this feature available on it's HP Officejet Pro 8610/8620/8630 e-All-in-One Printers, which are Colour Inkjets. Some of the commerical products also support this feature but I'm unsure of which ones. I would really suggest contacting HP Shopping for more information on these models.  Hopefully this has answered your questions, and please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.   Thanks,
