Hp laserjet professional 1100w. cannot close paper tray. paper-stop not movable?

I managed to install and print but cannot close the paper tray.  There is a little paper-stop that prevents the paper tray from closing. Seems like it should be able to fold under or something.

  • Paper Tray , paper direction

We have   a client interested  in a small business laser printer. Typically this would be easy to find but the client needs to be sure that the paper in the papert ray  gets printed on the TOP side. They have checks to put into the printer, and these checks are 1,2,3 sequenced and are from top to bottom, FACE UP.    Do you know  there is ANY laser printers that the paper tray print on the top (face up) side?
and a manual tray option wont work as they have over 200 checks to print at a time.

    Hi BBraver,
I see you are trying to get your paper tray back in it's original position. Can you please let me know the Exact model of HP printer you are using?
I will watch for your reply, so we can begin troubleshooting!

  • Paper tray won't close

HP Color LaserJet CM2320nf MFP  printer:
So, I put more paper in the paper tray and closed the drawer as usual. Only the drawer will not close. I have looked inside to see if there is anything visible that would prevent it from closing. I see nothing.  Without paper, I can't print easily (just with a couple pieces of paper).  This is wierd. Has never happened before.
I have turned off and on the printer, not that that would help -- but the paper tray will still not slide into the printer.

  • Paper tray hp laserjet 1018

It should be simple.  I cannot close the paper tray of my HP LaserJet 1018 printer.   It is hinged and when I lift it, it moves about 30 degrees and stops.  I am afraid that if I force it any farther something will break.  How does it close?  It was close when I bought it.

  • Paper tray error message HP LaserJet 1102w

Recently my LaserJet 1102w stopped printing duplex; instead, after printing the first side it gives an error message :  Paper tray needs to be filled.
The paper tray is full, but I cannot get it to continue printing the other side, no matter what.  This has become a huge problem, even when printing single-sided jobs.
    Any ideas?
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
Once you place the printed pages back in the input tray, try opening and closing the top cartridge access door to rsume the print job and check if that prints the other side.
    Hope that helps,

  • Old HP Laser could Center paper in the tray (paper path), New Dell Laser B5460DN Cannot, How to Adjust?

Customer cannot center an odd card stock size in the paper path on Dell B5460DN
(whereas old HP Laserjet had a left and right width adjustment).
Dell can only push the card stock to the Left in the paper tray with the width guide.
Program which client is printing from cannot be adjusted to move the printable area.
Is there a software(driver?) adjustment, or PCL code,  that can remedy the situation?

  • LaserJet 1320nw: Selecting an alternate paper tray programmatically

    Howdy, y'all,
My question is more about coding than printer administration, but I thought that I'd begin by asking at this forum.
I'm working on the enhancement of an older client-server app that prints three copies of an invoice on color-coded paper. One of the users would like to keep the multi-colored sheets in the lower paper tray. Other users may run the same invoice listing on other HP LaserJets. If the <Esc> sequence that I send to the printer to select the lower tray is received by a LaserJet printer without a lower tray, what will the printer do?
I've read the PCL 5 Tech Ref, and in the Programming Hints section, HP writes that "if ... commands are not supported by the PCL device, they are ignored." Does that mean that printer will still print from the default tray if there's no alternate tray?
    Thanks kindly.

Thanks for your support-- you are correct Epson did not solve my problem. Over time, none of my several printing issues have been solved by Epson . Self-help and Forums have been my best solutions. Once Again I discovered the answer myself. The menu options have been moved around in Leopard compared to Tiger. In "EPSON PrintCD" you now go to Print..., choose Page Setup and unlike Tiger when you choose "US letter" under Paper Size, pulled down to US Letter, there is now a side menu that pops up and allows you to choose US letter(Manual Feed). This takes care of the CD printing problem. Though I haven't tried it as yet, I think that under this new "Paper Size" menu choosing "4x6 ( borderless)" will solve my borderless printing problem!
Sorry I can't shed any light on your particular issues

  • Standard paper tray on Color LaserJet 3600n

We have a Color LaserJet 3600 which had a problem with the standard paper tray being stuck.  Couldn't get it out until we were able to get inside the machine and push down on the metal plate that pushes the paper up when the drawer is in the printer.  After we got it out we found a small plastic piece broken on the end of the right side of the metal plate that sticks through the plastic side of the paper tray (see image).  Does anyone know where I can get this plastic piece without having to purchase the entire tray?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Typically these small pieces on the paper trays, such as this one, are unavailable by themselves. One can check the HP Parts Store to see if the parts is available, but most likely one will have to get the tray as a single unit.
    Hope this helps.

  • Cannot get my ph400 m401 printer to recoginize 3rd paper tray

Installed laserjet 400 m401 with 3rd paper tray but printer won't recoginize tray?

You will need to go into your printer and devices folder > right click on the printer > click printer properties > go to the device settings tab > look at installable options.
If tray 3 is on your printer use the pull down tab for automatic configuration and update now. Tray 3 should become avaialable.

  • Printing 4x6 photos on HP Laserjet 4630. photo paper tray not working?

I am trying to print 4x6 photos on glossy paper.  My printer has a photo paper tray in addition to a standard letter tray.  When I specify 4x6 borderless glossy paper in the print parameters, the printer keeps pulling from the standard paper tray instead of the photo tray on top of the printer.  This has worked for me in the past, but I haven't used it in a long time.  What must I be doing wrong?

    Hey. I'm a photographer with the C4280.
This printer takes care of 8.5 x 11's pretty much perfectly. But 4 x 6 not for me on iPhoto or Photoshop.
So what I did was I set up a pages document with a blank template, set at 4 x 6 inches.
I dragged rulers about .25inches in and threw in the photo set at 4 x 6 ratio. So... most photos are 4 x 6, just resize it to fit in the rulers.
I've noticed in most occasions it cuts off the top of the photo document when laid out in portrait.
What I do is a hit command p, select the printer but choose under the drop box that says "layout" i hit borderless printing, and a selectable box will show up saying "print borderless" and i just clicked it.
on the document though you might want to make the opacity 10% to save ink. you have to trouble shoot the exact place to set and drag up or down the photo. but once you get it, its reliable the duration the document is open and the printer is on.
i know its kind of pointless for one, but i had a shoot with live printing on the spot with this printer and its great. you can add texts boxes and put those perfectly where you want (once you set the picture so its set) and throw in another picture and really customize the 4 x 6.
i printed a postcard with the writing already in it. just had to mail it no writing involved.
you also need iwork 08 or 09. i have 08 but im sure 09 works. so if you save the pages doc as a template you can just drag in the image file into where the old image is and print that way.
command p, choose borderless printing in the drop box and click print borderless. it should work.
email me for a copy of my pages document. [email protected]
i promise though, with canon or epson 4 x 6 print paper, its pretty amazing. almost comparable to my prints from my printer.
    or you can fit 12 3.5 x 2inch (business card sized) pics on an 8.5 x 11.

  • Wrong automatic paper tray selection in HP LaserJet M3035 printer.

    Hello,
I have a printer (this one http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06b/18972-18972-3328064-12004-3328083-2512333-2512337-3435... ) shared in Active Directory by several users (running Windows XP machines). The thing is that no matter how many times I try to set the source paper tray to a specific one, it seems it doesnt apply/store the changes, and it comes back to Auto tray selection  (and it always selects tray #1, which is the one im trying to avoid), causing an issue which needs to be solved by hand.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    1. Go into your SETUP MENU on your printer.
    2. Choose PREFERENCES
    3. Choose DEFAULT TRAY.
Try it and let me know what happens, thanks.

  • PAPER TRAY SUCKS. CANNOT PRINT OUT PHOTOS, TRAY ONLY ACCEPTS PAPER FROM BOTTOM TRAY. GRRRR.

My BRAND NEW (One week from delivery) no longer prints out photos.  It printed out photos several times but 3 days' ago it stopped.
The paper tray is malfunctioning.  Each time I try to print out a photo (remember, it's been done several times until a few days' ago) THE TRAY WILL NOT ACCEPT PAPER FROM THE TOP TRAY!!
SELECTED PHOTOS PRINT OUT ON PAPER FROM BOTTOM TRAY ONLY!!   MY INK AND PAPER IS BEING WASTED AND SEVERAL OTHER POSTERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE HP 6520!
Is one of those infamous 2-hr. long marathon phone calls to Tech Support in India the ONLY way one can sensibly have an HP issue resolved?
    This is ridiculous!

  • Officejet Pro 8600 Plus ...paper TRAY wont close all the way?

My Officejet Pro 8600 Plus paper tray will not return to the proper position. This has happened TWICE now, and always about 3 weeks into using it...
I returned the first printer and replaced it with the same because we love the features and ease of use. But now,  AGAIN??
I tried printing with it hanging out this time..it will print, but ....COME ON!  It makes it real hard to pull out the tray that my paper lays on after printing!
I called HP support the first time, he couldnt help me. Just said replace it.  There has to be something I can do a button or something?  I cant see it..does anyone else know?

    Zadora wrote:
Unofrtunately useless information. By trial and error I have found the only way to replace the tray is to lift the entire printer from the front at about a 20 degree angle and then the tray slides in. Very defective design. Never buy another HP.
It is possible you have a defective unit, I would suggest you Contact HP for service.
It may not be any consolation for you, but the tray works fine on my Officejet 8600 Pro Plus.

  • "HP laserjet professional utility" does not work in osx 10 (Yosemite)

All the major functions of this printer work fine in Yosemite, but not the "HP laserjet professional utility"The driver shown in System Preferences/Printer for my Laserjet P1606dn is version 6.9 (I am unable to knowif this is the version provided by the latest HP printer update, which was installed via the App Store.) I note this exact issue was raised for OSX7 in November 2014, but for a diiferent model printer.  My printer is on my local wifi network, and that earlier case seemed to invove a direct USB connection. The solution offered in that thread, 4694464,may not be applicable now, so I seek advice In the panel for my 1606dn within System Preferences/Printer offers a button to launch the "HP Professional Utility", but when clicked an app launches called the "HP Professional Utility" but then nothing.  I am trying to access the printer controls that will keep it from turning itself off when idle, and the documentation says the "HP Professional Utility" will allow that change. Please advise

Hey , Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here. I see that you are having some issues with adjusting the power save mode settings on your Laserjet P1606dn. I can help with that. First make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. If the printer is connected with an ethernet cable to a router then you may be able to do this instead:On the printer hold down the button that looks like a sheet of paper with an arrow on it for about ten seconds. This should print out a report. On your Mac open a browser and enter the printer's IP Address in your Address bar exactly as it appears on the page. When you are finished click on enter/return.This will open the printer's Embedded Web Server. In here you may be able to find some options to adjust the power save settings. If the above does not work then this troubleshooting may assist you with the utility:Go to Applications, and if you have it open the Hewlett-Packard folder.Run HP Uninstaller to remove any existing software from you system. On the Mac go to the Apple icon and Sytem Preferences.Open Printers and Scanners.Hold down the Command key and click on the picture of your printer on the left.Click on Reset Printing System.Go to Applications and Utilities.Open Disk Utility.Click on Macintosh HD on the left.Click on Verify Disk Permissions. This should take about ten minutes.Click on Repair Disk Permissions. This should take about ten minutes.Restart your Mac.Plug in the USB cable between the printer and the router.Check for Product Updates on your Mac.Try running the tool again. If this resolves everything please let others know by clicking on Accept as Solution below my post.
I hope this helps and I hope you have a great day!
