HP LaserJet Professional P100 wireless printer Install

Hello,
I am trying to install this printer on a server (server 2008 x64) without much luck. It is currently installed on a clients machine by using the CD and printer cable. The printer is using a static IP as well. When trying to install the printer on the server, it appears to install fine by choosing the install local printer option, and then entering the IP under "local port". The driver I am using is found here (please note it's difficult to see which server version is which because the text is cut off).
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5076465&
I cannot seem to print without receiving an error. I can ping the printer and access the web interface but cannot print.
Please advise,
thank you

  • Color LaserJet 2605dn for wireless printing, it keeps printing the first page over & over

When I use my Color LaserJet 2605dn for wireless printing, it keeps printing the first page over & over again.  I have to cancel print job on the printer in order to stop it.   It works properly on the computer that is directly wired to it, but won't on any other computer that I try to print from.   I have had this problem for some time, but now have certain thing that I must print from this printer & can't do it wirelessly.  It doesn't seem to be my network, because I can print from all of the other computers onto other wireless printers I have in the office.
    Any advice would be appreciated!

  • LaserJet m1217nfw mfp - wireless printing keep failing / dropping off on Mac OS 10.7.5

I have installed my LaserJet m1217nfw mfp at least 4 times in the past month using my Mac that's running on OS 10.7.5. The first time was with the CD that came with the printer, and the last 3 times was with the latest software downloaded from HP.
Each time, the wireless printing is set up and works without problem (using these official HP instructions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48mLZoRjJm0). But a few days later, when I try to do the wireless printing again from the same Mac, it can't find the printer on the network. And nothing about the network or router has changed.
It's quite frustrating. I doubt installing it for the 5th time is going to solve the problem once and for all.
    Any ideas much appreciated!
    Thanks

    Hello SC_W,
The IP address can be fixed by going to Setup > Network Config > TCP/IP Config from the printer front panel.
Then select Manual and set the IP as manual.. I would using an higher value to avoid IP conflicts (e.g. if the current IP is 10.0.0.1, change only the last part to 10.0.0.20 so the address will remain and won't be used by other devices when the printer is powered off.)
Although I personally doubt it will help assigning a fixed IP as Mac OS X uses Bonjour hostname to communicate with the printer (which is fixed) and not athe IP address as Windows uses.
Additionally, as Apple products uses Bonjour, I could see some discussions on this matter for the Home Hub 3.0.
    Below is an example:
    https://community.bt.com/t5/Other-BB-Queries/HomeHub-3-Apple-Bonjour-not-working-for-AirPlay-AirPrin...
If setting a fixed IP does not help, try the folowing to isolate the problem and ensure if Multicast packets transfer may cause the issue:
From your Mac go to System Preferences > Print & Scan, click the Plus sign and then click the IP tab.
Select the HP Jetdirect Socket protocol and type the IP as the address value.
Add the printer, you will see an additional print queue listed as the IP address.
Keep using this queue for printing and let me know if you may se any difference for this print queue..

  • Help setting up a Laserjet P1102w for wireless printing on a Mac

I'm trying to setup a Laserjet P1102w on my Mac for wireless printing, but it's not working.  It will print fine using USB, but all the documentation for wireless setup is for Windows, not Mac.  if I connect the printer via USB to my Mac, how will it get an IP address from my wireless network?  Any help appreciated.

    Hi Staxofjoy,
Based on the information you provided, and comparing to another post regarding this issue (link below) - It sounds like you are running 10.7 (Lion).
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mac-Printing-and-Scanning/HP-Laserjet-P1102w-driver-for-Macbook-OS-X-Li...
Please go to the linked thread above, and look for the post by mikel1004 - he outlined the steps for connecting Adhoc to the printer very clearly.
Summary of what you will need to to:
    1. Reset Printer to Defaults
    2. Connect to printer via Adhoc from your Mac (This will disconnect you from your home wireless network)
    3. Access HTML Config, and configure the printer's wireless settings manually from there.
    4. Reconnect the Mac to the Home Network
    5. Add the printer to the print queue.
    Hope this helps

  • Laserjet 5P to wireless print server

I have Laserjet 5P. I want to connect to this wirelessly from my new HP laptop. Wireless print server (e.g. Netgear WGPS606) has only USB or ethernet sockets. Is it possible to connect 5P via an adaptor? Or is parallel port connection incompatible? I don't mind if print speed is reduced, just so long as I can make the connection. Please help.

I too had this problem. I'm posting this because the technique described didn't work for me. This may help someone else. I could login to the print server's admin page through Safari using its IP address. However, I could not get a straight answer from Linksys "we don't get trained on Mac" on how to make it print. Here is what I did:
Problem: difficulty printing from an iMac (wireless Airport) to a USB printer connected to a Linksys WPS54G v2.0 print server:
Under the Apple Menu, go to System Preferences>Print & Fax
Click + to add a new printer
Select IP from the top list of printer types
Under Protocol select Internet Printing Protocol - IPP
Under Address type in the IP address of the print server (e.g. 192.168.1.12)
    Under Queue - leave blank
Under name - type in IP address of the print server (if not already filled in)
    Under Location - leave blank
Under Print Using - select "select a driver to use" and choose the make and model of the printer connected to the print server.
    Click Add
The printer should now be visible in the Print & Fax dialog box on the left hand side. Now test it by opening an application like TextEdit, type something and hit print. If the pages come out with little text or blank, you've got the wrong driver.
This worked for me, however I still don't have the functionality I had with printing from my PC based laptop (i.e. duplex, draft, normal, best, etc, B&w only). I'll probably find a way to do this later. For now I can at least be productive at work again.
    Cheers,
    Ralf

  • New HP wireless printer install gives me Error Code 43

I just bought the HP wireless and networking capable all-in-one printer, the C309 series (no indication of exact model number anywhere on the machine, but the maybe it's the C334, since that's near the serial number on the back.
I connected it to my wireless network with no troubles. I inserted the install disc into my macbook pro, and got past the installation, to the setup step when I got the news:
"The operation can't be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code -43)."
Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is here?

  • HP LaserJet 1320 through wireless print server

I'm trying to hook up an HP LaserJet 1320 through an old DP-311wireless print server. I can access the servier through IE when go to the servers IP address through Parallels, but if I go to the same address through Safari on the Mac side, I get a blank page (although I do get a popup asking for UID and passwd). I have been able to print to this printer - on this AirBook - using the same D-Link rint server - but I removed and reinstalled the printer to try to get the duplexer to work. Now I can't get the printer to work at all . . . bummer.
    Any thoughts?

Update - I have gotten the printer to work under Parallels once I assigned it to an LPR queue. Still no progress on the Mac side

  • HP LaserJet Professional CM1415fnw - eStorage print apps - Google Docs

    Hello HP,
Why there are only 10 apps available for my CM1415 multifunction printer. I would like to have eStorage app to work; Google docs or box.net and why not other apps like facebook too. The CM1415 has a beautiful 3" color touch screen but it has no use for this purpose -->why?. These apps are available to cheaper printer models too.
Google Docs app error message is "Not Available for this Printer" Is it coming to this printer in future?
    BR,
    Jarno

    Hello,
Thanks for the reply but you didn't answer to my question. I know how to change those apps, but the problem is not in that. The problem is that I bought the multifunction network machine so I could scan my documents to the internet but now I found out that it is not possible with my CM1415fnw multifunction network printer. It is sad, but cheaper Samsung and Canon can scan to at least network drive (and usb of course).
I found out that HP Finland doesn't know printers that are suitable to eStorage. So they cant help me. Who knows then if HP even doesn't know. Actually HP support first gave me instructions how to get it work but after few times double checks they said "sorry, no can do". I am not quite satisfied.
    I have these very "handy" apps;
    Web Sudoku
    WeatherNews
    DreamWorks...
    Disney
    HP Quick Forms
    Google Calendar (why this works?)
    Yahoo!
and F24 (news service in English, France and some other unknown language)
There are some other apps too  that I would like to have and I am confused that this price range multifunction machine (350-400 dollars) I cant have all the apps available.

  • HP Laserjet Pro P1102W not printing even though it's installed...

Hello everyone. I'm relatively new to Arch, especially new with configuring cups. I just bought an HP LaserJet Pro p1102w wireless printer. I set it up on my dads laptop via plugging it into the usb and it automatically ran the setup program and I selected to set the printer up for wifi printing. All went well and the printer works now wirelessly from his computer (Windows 7). I've been working at getting this printer to actually print without error but it refuses.
I'm trying to print from leafpad, just a simple text file with little in it other than "linux test print" in the file. The print queue states "Processing - Not connected?" then it fails and gives me the option to "diagnose" the issue. So I click Diagnose. Then it pops up with a message stating that the "print server not exporting printers". It tells me to enable  the "Publish shared printers connected to this system" through the printing administration panel which is in Gnome apparenetly (I'm in XFCE) under System>Administration>Printing from the main menu. In XFCE there is no such area.
    I have cups version 1.5.0-1
    hplip 3.11.7-2
What else should I do? Apparently the printer was installed successfully. I tried installing it and selecting the HPlip driver which installed fine but wouldn't print. Then I removed that one and installed it using the Apple driver (airprint?) and it won't print either.
I've tried searching for help but all I find is that it will work with hiplip installed... It isn't working with that installed.
I can't access the cups server via a browser. Is that the problem? I've opened the cups config page but I don't understand it and it says allow, deny under localhost or ugh i dont know, something about which users can access the server. Should I remove the "deny"??
Please help me if you can. I'm totally lost and have no idea what to do to get this printer working on my installation of arch. Arch is fully updated as of a few days ago.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I can't access the cups server via a browser. Is that the problem?
    Absolutely.
If you are starting cupsd from DAEMONS in rc.conf is it starting correctly or failing?   If your not you should be.  if it failing does start manually work?
if it's running you should be able to access via browser.  localhost:631

  • Hp laserjet p1102w won't print within cloud server

Please help! I have an HP LaserJet P1102w desktop printer connected via USB. It has worked fine until about a week ago when I had to have my computer wiped and the operating system reinstalled. I have Windows 7 64 bit OS. I reinstalled the printer, driver, and updated the firmware. It prints test pages and configuration pages just fine, as well as anything directly from my PC. This is an office computer connected directly to a private network using a cloud based server. I cannot print anything from within the cloud to my printer! I have looked through all of the forums and help sites and our IT people cannot assist me as this particular printer is on a list of hardware that they do not work with. As I mentioned, before the reinstallation it printed fine from the network, but now it doesn't seem to make the connection and I don't know what else to try, please help!

Hi , Thanks for posting in the HP Forums, and welcome!  +I not sure I understand exactly how you are trying to print, but as this printer is wireless, I think having it connected wirelessly to your network rather than USB to a single computer, might make all the difference. I'd recommend trying the steps in this document to configure your printer wirelessly:HP LaserJet Pro P1102w - Wireless Printer Setup You'll also want to make sure your web services is enabled on the printer. 1. Print a Network Configuration Page.2. Type the IP address that shows up on your configuration page into the address bar of your browser on your computer.3. Click the tab at the top that says Web Services.4. You will have either a Setup or Enable button, click this. Hope this helps!

  • HP P1102w Wireless Printer will not pair with a Motorola SBG6782-AC Wireless Cable Modem Gateway

I previously had AT&T U-verse Internet using an Arris IPDSL NVG510 Wireless Modem Gateway.  My HP Laptop running Windows 8.1 and the HP LasrJet Pro P1102w Wireless Prnter routinely  & automatically connected to the NVG510 Wireless Network  without any problems over the past two years, and the wireless Printer worked without problems. I recently replaced the AT&T U-verse Internet connection with a 25 Mbs Comcast Xfinity Intrnet connection, using a Motorola Arris SURFboard SBG6782-AC Wireless Cable Modem Gateway.   My HP Laptop running Win 8.1 Pro connects to the Network and accesses the Internet with no problems what-so-ever;  However,  the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w wireless Printer does connect to the Wireless network and I cannot Print at all from my laptop. I have tried all the P1102w Wireless Printer Setup suggestions from the HP Printer Support Site, but to no avail.  I have also updated the Printer Firmware and Loaded the latest Full Product Installation & Driver Software.  I have tried and re-tried these suggestions over the last two days, but with no luck. I would greatly appreciately any help from the  experts  in this Forum.  to get the printer to work wirelessly, since we also  wirelessly print to this printer from  IPads and other wireless laptops.

Hi , I see that you are having issues connecting the printer to the new router. I would like to help you. I would reset the printer first to clear out any previous network settings.
Turn the printer off, hold down the wireless button and cancel (x button) while turning the printer back on and don't release the two buttons until the printer stops making noise. Print out a configuration report and make sure the SSID and IP address are cleared.
Printing a Configuration Page. If the network name has any spaces or special characters, the printer may not recognize it. The printer is only capable of sending/receiving in the 2.4 ghz band. If it is set to 5 GHZ network you may need to change to 2.4 ghz. (rename the 5 ghz or shut it off)
The WPA key setting needs to be on AES to work correctly not TKIP.Multi casting needs to be turned on.
Firewall on router has to have open ports for printer.
If you have Mac Filtering you need to give printer hardware address from Configuration page. You might need to contact your router company for further assistance to check those settings. Try running the Wireless Configuration Wizard from the HP software to configure the printer over the network. If you appreciate my efforts, please click the 'Thumbs up' button below. If you have any issues, please let me know what steps you have taken and the results. Thank You.

    Installing an HP network printer

  • HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer "Ready" for wireless printing, but gives "error -- printing" message

This P1102w printer was configured for wireless printing from two computers (WinXP and Win7), both with a network sharing designation, and all functions worked perfectly:
Printing from the WinXP computer directly, and from a networked Win2K computer as a guest.
Printing from the Win7 computer directly, and from a networked Win2K computer as a guest.
Windows Printer Test Pages were printed from both installed computers, showing correct computer names, the printer name, Port names (IP addresses), Data format (IMF), Driver information, etc.
Several days later (after new boots), the WinXP computer showed printer status as being "Ready", along with the correct printer "Type" (HP LaserJet Professional P1102w), "Where" (IP address), and "Comment" (network printing).  When a print job was submitted from Microsoft Word, the control-panel printer window first showed the message "printing", and then the message "error -- printing".  Nothing was printed.  The same results occurred when a print job was sent to the WinXP computer from the networked Win2K computer.  HP’s troubleshooting routine did not identify the error, its cause, or what can be done about it.
Successful printing continued, as before, from the Win7 computer directly, and from the networked Win2K computer to the Win7 computer as a guest.
The printer’s blue “i” network indicator lamp is lit, and all three computers continue to communicate through the hub to each other and to the Internet.
HP’s printer installation program was executed on the WinXP computer, using the “fix” option, but nothing changed.  The installation program was executed again on the WinXP computer, using the “new install” option (without removing the existing P1102w installation); the “browse” function saw the network, but no printers were found, and the installation could not be completed.
This is very perplexing.  Any suggestions?
PS:  The same problem occurred once before, and it was fixed by resetting factory defaults on the printer, hard wiring the printer to the WinXP computer through a USB cable, re-installing the printer’s wireless settings from HP’s installation disk, and repeating all of the networking and sharing setups on all three computers.  This is a lot of work that is not worth repeating, because the successful results have not been permanent.

    To:  Neonskeleton,
Thanks for your response -- especially because you are an HP employee!
My Win2k machine does not use HP software, nor communicate to the HP printer.  (HP did not write a Win2k driver for the P1102w -- and evidently no one else has done this, either.)  My WinXP and Win7 machines use their HP drivers to send print jobs to the P1102w wirelessly, and both machines have the P1102w set up as a shared printer.  Then, when I connect to those machines as a "guest" and submit a print job to those machines, those machines receive the print job and then communicate with the printer using the proper installed printer drivers.
Everything worked great with this configuration, until suddenly the printer was no longer responsive to ANY jobs coming from the WinXP machine, even though there was a "printer ready" indication on the WinXP machine, and even though the printer responded perfectly to print jobs coming from the Win7 machine.
When I tried to "fix" the WinXP setup by running HP's setup program on CD, nothing changed.  Then, when I tried to reinstall the WinXP setup for wireless printing, the program insisted that I reset THE PRINTER'S factory defaults and proceed using a USB cable -- even though I wanted to simply ADD the computer for wireless communication to an existing networked printer!  I would conclude that something screwed up the printer's inner settings (maybe an unsolicited and invisible HP update sent to my printer from the Internet?).
As I mentioned in my original post, I went through this process once before, reinstalled everything on all machines, and all was well.  Until THE SAME non-recognition problem surfaced again!
I do not want to spend any more time on this.  I went to Staples and bought a second P1102w printer (it is a nice little machine that uses a xerographic cartridge, rather than costly inkjet cartridges that frequently plug up).  I'll use a USB cable for the connection, rather than the installed wireless feature, and set up the P1102w as a shared printer.  I expect that all of my other computers will be able to link as a "guest" through the wireless hub and be able to print.
    Thanks again.
