HP LASERJET SERVICE and WINDOWS 7 PRO CRASH

My windows 7 pro 64bit will lock up every so often and when I restart and run the Windows reliability monitor  there's always a critical error "HP Laserjet Service" which stopped working right at the same time as  the crash.
In msconfig/services the box is checked and the status is stopped.
That critical error message is always the only one listed by the way.
Printer is the P1102W and I'm only using the wifi.
Printer always works fine.
Appreciate any suggestions.

Hi aelumley , Sorry to hear you are still having issues. After reinstalling the printer, the icon is now grayed out.
Did you try turning the Laserjet Services in the Startup items back on again to see if that would fix this issue?
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
I would run the Microsoft Fix It Tool to see if it will help.
Diagnose and repair Windows File and Folder Problems automatically.
Sfc /scannow will inspect all of the important Windows files on your computer, including Windows DLL files. If System File Checker finds an issue with any of these protected files, it will replace it.
How To Use SFC /Scannow to Repair Windows System Files.
If you have another computer, install the printer on it to see if you have the same results.
Please let me know the outcome.
Thank You.

  • Diff b/w Web service and window service

What is the difference between web service and window service, whether the both are same or not, Give some explain about that each one and give some examples also.

An XML Web service is a component that implements program
logic and provides functionality for diseparate
applications. These applications use standard protocols,
such as HTTP, XML, and SOAP, to access the functionality.
XML Web services use XML-based messaging to send and
receive data, which enables heterogeneous applications to
interoperate with each other. You can use XML Web services
to integrate applications that are written in different
programming languages and deployed on different platforms.
In addition, you can deploy XML Web services within an
intranet as well as on the Internet. While the Internet
brings users closer to organizations, XML Web services
allow organizations to integrate their applications.
A Windows service starts much before any user logs in to
the system (if it has been setup to start at boot up
process). A Windows service can also be setup in such a way
that it requires a user to start it manually ? the ultimate
    customization!
Windows services run as background processes. These
applications do not have a user interface, which makes them
ideal for tasks that do not require any user interaction.
You can install a Windows service on any server or computer
that is running Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows NT.
You can also specify a Windows service to run in the
security context of a specific user account that is
different from the logged on user account or the default
computer account. For example, you can create a Windows
service to monitor performance counter data and react to
    threshold values in a database.

  • Windows Server Essentials Storage Service and Windows Server Essentials Email Service eating memory

    Hi
I have Windows Server 2012 R2 with Essentials Role installed. I have integrated server with Azure AD, Office 365 and Intune using the Essentials Dashboard integration tools.
I can see that Windows Server Essentials Storage Service and Windows Server Essentials Email Service are eating much of server memory. What are these services for and why they use a lot of memory? Specially I am wondering about the Email Service. What is
it for? Server dont handle email in any way so what is this service for? I tried to google it but found nothing.

    Hi
    I have 6GB of memory.
When I check from Resource Monitor, for Essentials Storage Service, Commit Set is 4G and Working Set is 1,8G.
Email Service Commit is about 1,8G and Working Set is just below 1G.
So these two services are reserving almost all the memory.
Memory is about 85-90% in use all the time, whether it be night or day.
Server have about 12 users and at the office there is about 2-6 person at the time. Link between server and office is 100M. There are no other services installed but the basic ones. We use server for AD (O365 integration) and file shares. Traffic in File
Shares are not big. They are more kind of an warehouse that in busy day-to-day use.
This server is about couple of months old and it has been like this since it was fired up.
I dont know what to look for from Event Logs and Process Monitor dont give me anything useful.

  • HP Laserjet P2055dn and windows 8 PCL6 error

    Hello everyboby,
I have a network of two PCs and a networked HP Laserjet P2055dn. The PCs were in windows xp pro and everything go fine. I have changed their PCs with Hp Pro and windows 8 64bits as OS. Since the PCs are windows 8, both users have random PCL6 errors when they print. It does not occur everytime. I have updated the printer firmware to latest ==> same issue.
When i look at the printer configuration, i see that Laserjet P2055dn supports Pcll5e and ps but no PCL6. But on the HP site, for windows 8, there's only PCL5 and Ps driver !!! Anyway, i have tried each driver: PCL6, full software solution driver, Universal print ==> same issue.
Does anyboby has encounter this issue ? What is the solution ?
Thanks to everybody for interest, Sincerly yours, David from France

    AlarconDavid,
I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial printer. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/ .

  • HP LaserJet 1018 and Windows 8.1

    Hello,
I was trying to select the "Print directly to the Printer" option under my 1018's printer properties, but I keep getting the following:
    "Printer Properties
Printer settings could not be saved
    The specified datatype is invalid"
Can anyone instruct me as to how to fix this?  Please let me know ASAP.  Thanks!

    Hello Candi_970,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see that when you try to set the printer setting "Print directly to the Printer" for the Laserjet 1018 on Windows 8.1, but it will not allow it.
You could try running the Print and Scan Dr on the computer. This will not allow you to set the "Print directly to the Printer" setting, but it could fix a driver or software issue the is preventing it.
Let me know if this has helped.

  • Final cut 5.1.2 and mac pro crashes when rendering

i have just switched to the new mac pro and have all the new and latest updates and i'm running the final cut crossgrade.when i select a sequence to be rendered and select render all and both it gets to about 50% and final cut crashes.is anyone having the same problem?

I don't know if it is a trend or a series of isolated system specific issues but, in the last few days I've been reading here on the forum of a number of problems posted by users of the new MacPros. The only thing that seems to connect them is; the problems seem intermittent and when subjected to a testing methodology, do not reappear.
With the available information there is no way to say whether they are the result of user and/or workflow error, minimally compromised material, random system nonsense or what .... but, I remember a series of similar issues (Macs NEVER have problems ...) with the then new G5 2.7ghz machines. Perhaps they were just over-clocked and were not stable but that relationship has me wondering.
I haven't been tracking whether these random issues show up with the 2.66 or 3.0 pros but it might bear watching.

  • Macbook and Macbook Pros crashing in certain wifi areas?

    Hi all,
I have friends who's Macbooks and Macbook Pros (Snow Leopard 10.6.x) crash as soon as they enter into certain wifi hot spots. They attend the University of Lethbridge. They always crash when their airport cards connect to the guest wifi connection at the school. I thought it was just lack of maintenance but it's not. I was looking at MBP's that came right out of the box. This is common to all macbooks from about 2009 and up. I have yet to try out the MBP's with thunderbolt but so far many of them are giving the grey screen of death.
Some people also get random signal dropouts when they are in residence.
I'm on a macbook 2006 10.5.8 and have never had any problems.
Any suggestions on how I can help them out?

Upgrade to 10.6.7. Most likely they are running afoul of a bug where the Mac can KP if certain MCS rates are turned off.

  • Windows Deployment Services and Surface Pro 2

The issue I am seeing is when trying load the Windows Boot Manager, before selecting a boot image. The boot manager is loading in the lower 1/4 of the screen. It will not move past this loading screen and seeing how it is not displaying correctly, I cannot
see if there is an error. I am guessing this is a WDS server setting, we are running 2008 R2. However, I don't know what step this would be. It is before the boot image is loaded and I do not think this is a part of Windows PE.
    (see below)
    Thanks.

    check here: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:IP/DHCP_Server
you will probably need to use these:
    Sub-menu: /ip dhcp-server network
next-server (this may need to be set to the ip address of your WDS, so that your RouterBoard performs a referral to your WDS)
[this may be the only thing you need, if all your computers are on the same subnetwork]
otherwise you might need to explore these:
boot-file-name (not sure about this one)
dhcp-option (the usual options needed are option 66 and option 67)
    EDIT: this may help you:

  • Laserjet 6P and Windows 8.1 Driver

The Laserjet 6P is not in the Printer list in Windows 8.1 and I don't see it as a supported OS at HP.com.  Does anyone know a driver in Windows 8.1 that I can use for my old, but sturdy Laserjet 6P?

My Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit system has built-in drivers for this printer model:
I don't know whether the drivers are present on a fresh Windows install; they may only have appeared in the list after the Windows Update button was clicked on the above Add Printers dialogue, then waiting (perhaps for several minutes) whilst additional drivers were downloaded, and the list repopulated.

  • Hp color laserjet 2025 and windows 7

    Subject
I have two hp color laserjets.  Toolbox cannot be installed with windows 7 pro.  Toolbox worked well with windows xp pro. How can I determine amount of remaining color toner and other necessary information without toolbox.  There is no toolbox upgrade on the hp website.

The product you have seems to be a commercial printer. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!
You may find the Commercial Laserjet board here.

  • LaserJet 2200 and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit - a mutual disagreement society?

In upgrading my XP Professional system to Windows 7, I've got a real problem linking to my LaserJet 2200d printer. The store that did the upgrade mistakenly upgraded to 32-bit Windows 7, but the printer worked fine. In doing the proper upgrade to 64-bit 7 Pro, a problem arose - nothing prints and the data light on the Laserjet 2200 does not even flash. Observables:
    1. I've tried all the 64-bit drivers published from Microsoft via Windows Update and from HP. Nothing works, including the universal printer driver and regressing to the 32-bit driver.
    2. The printer shows as installed, but with a yellow, triangular warning sign, yet there are no details on the problem or suggested fixes.
    3. Windows Troubleshooter doesn't fix the problem.
    4. I thought to uninstall all the drivers and start fresh, but links to HP's driver uninstaller yield a "page no longer available" error message.
I use this printer as my workhorse - sure would appreciate some help. I'm a nontechie, so step-by-step instructions would be very helpful. Thanks!

  • Networked Laserjet 5MP and Windows 8

Is there any way to print to a networked Laserjet 5MP (networked via an ethernet connection) using Windows 8?  I have Windows 8 Pro and work exclusively on the desktop side of the OS.
When I run the HP Printer Install Wizard, it discovers my printer, but informs me there are no drivers for it.  Is there any workaround for this?  My 5MP is still working like a champ, so I'd rather not have to purchase a new one just because there are no drivers for it on Windows 8.

I'm running Windows 8.1 (rather than Windows 8), and this has a built-in driver available for HP LaserJet 5MP, so i suspoect that Windows 8 will also have a built-in driver.
You may need to click the Windows Update button in the Add Printer dialogue (and then wait, perhaps several minutes, until the drivers are downloaded, and the list is repopulated) before the driver becomes available.
