HP LJ P2015 ERROR: limitcheck OC: image

We have an HP LaserJet network printer which is accessed by several devices, principally a MacBook running OSX 10.7 and a MacPro running 10.6. Both computers have problems but they are different. It may be confusing but I will try to address them all in this one question, if you will forgive me.
MacPro 10.6.8 has no problem printing except from Mail. If I select a Mail message and ask for it to print, the printer's green light flashes briefly and then nothing happens. Not only does it not print but it stops anything else printing until I reboot everything. Just Mail, nothing else.
MacBook 10.7 manages to print fine except, occasionally, when we want to print some screen shot PNG files, we get a PostScript error: ERROR: limitcheck (and) OFFENDING COMMAND: image. This can be overcome by turning off Auto rotate and printing a landscape image across the width of a portrait page but this makes the images too small.
Is this just a memory problem? There is no information available from HP on the detailed setting up of the printer in the printer's web page (they refer you to a wizard which I do not have) and I wonder if I am not doing something I should in the setup. It would seem odd that it should be a memory issue as I print far larger images from the MacPro and it seems to me that the problem is peculiar to Lion and not a problem with Snow Leopard. The on board memory is 32MB and it says only 17.61MB is available.
The printer is connected directly to a Time Capsule by RJ45. The MacPro is wired to the Time Capsule but the MacBook speaks to it wirelessly. Am a bit stuck and any advice would be welcome.

Hi LilyLC (HTH),
Thanks for taking the trouble to provide such a well crafted answer. Sadly, I have done all the usual routine checks; the software and both Mail and HP drivers are all the latest versions. There is something very odd going on and I will try to flesh out the question, hopefully, without adding confusion!
MacPro with 10.6.8: Prints to the HP P2015N without any problems... except... solely this Mail problem which is more than simply not wanting to print anything directly from Mail. I have found that if I print a Mail message to PDF before trying to print to paper on the HP it still will not print it; it stops dead and the queue becomes blocked and nothing else will print until I have flushed the blockage. Re making the "printer" in prefs does not change this. The printer happily prints anything which does not originate in Mail, directly or indirectly.
MacBook with 10.7.5: Prints to the HP P2015N without any problems.... except... when printing screenshots which are not very large PNGs, opened in Preview. We quite like having PNGs and I have no problem printing PNGs from the MacPro. The way we can print screenshots from the MacBook is to print a landscape image to a portrait layout. If we print a landscape image to landscape paper it fails. Which is odd because I do not see that this changes the demand for memory, only toner... The paper size is A4 at all points, insofar as that is what the MacBook is sending and what the printer is expecting.
It is a strange conundrum in both cases and I am not yet sure which is the more irritating. I am going to update the OS on MacBook this weekend to 10.8, to see if that kicks some sense into it but the MacPro seems likely to stay on 10.6 indefinitely, being the last version to work properly without breaking stuff (Mail printing aside which I think arrived with the update from 10.6.3 to 10.6.8 though I could be imagining that).
If anyone else has an HP Laser printer exhibiting similar oddness I would welcome news that I am not on my own at least. Nothing HP does surprises, rarely is it good and I rejoice that my computer is not made by them.

    One thing I wonder: The PermanentId is allways the same but I can´t do anything here.

    Hi Ritam,
    For such issues, can you please create a new thread or directly email the author rather than dragging back up a very old thread, it is unlikely that the resolution would be the same as the database/application/etc releases would most probably be very different.
    For now I will close this thread as unanswered.

  • How do I fix an access rights error when launching Image Processor in Adobe Bridge CC?

    Often when I am working on files and want to batch process Jpegs for clients I get an error message from Image Processor.  It will state "I am unable to create a file in this folder.  Please check your access rights to this location ...."
    I have cleared cache and up'd my history levels.  I checked to make sure the files were not locked and read/write was enabled.  I am not sure why this error keeps occurring.  I am using Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 (2014.2.2 release) with Adobe Bridge CC (6.1.0.115)

    It's an endless circle.

    Seroiusly, always do a search before updating, http://discussions.apple.com/search.jspa?objID=f1201&search=Go&q=update+problem, NI is flaky at best IMHO, did you heck with them yet to see if a patch is available?
    Always wait a few weeks before updating, a reinstall is a headache, goodluck!

  • "Time machine error, The disk image cannot be mounted" What can I do??

    I ran the time machine. Then, "preparing backup" showed up for a long time. After that, a window pop out: "Time machine error, The disk image cannot be mounted" What is disk image? What can I do (I can't back up anything)
    P.S. I use time capsule for backup. there were no problem on connection

    I'm having the same issue. I do not have TC as my base station. It says right in the book that if you choose, you do not have to have it run as your router, just as a part of your existing wireless network. All software is up to date and I have already shortened the name of both my TC and TC disc to 6 characters and no spaces! I've already spoken with someone today about this. He really didn't know. Have tried backing up both wirelessly and directly connecting with an Ethernet cord. I had to finally call because when I attempted to register the product to get online support, apple.com didn't recognize the serial number!!! The gentleman on the phone got it registered for me. I bought the TC from an official apple store and for whatever reason when he put in the serial number his computer said that this TC was so "old" I guess that there was technically "no support." That basically means that even though my parents just purchased this for me a week before Christmas, that it was made a year ago and the warranty is not good?? I need to do more research on that. Right now I am very unhappy about this. I am a firm apple user and have been for years, but this is frustrating.
    I had read somewhere else (not sure I've been searching apple for what seems like forever now) to make sure that the TC was showing up in "devices" of the Finder. Mine doesn't show up there, but rather in the "Network" window. Is this an issue? If it is, can anyone tell me how to fix that. I have Time Machine backing up to my TC, so I do not see why it would be.
    UPDATE: I just opened up my TC on the "Shared" section of the Finder window and deleted the old "sparsebundle" (I had no clue that anything had backed up way back at 3:30pm on Dec 29) and now I get a slightly new message: Time Machine Error: The backup disc image could not be created." So now the word "mounted" is replaced with "created." This error showed up a lot sooner than the original one. Ok, no clue. I am going to try to Change the Disc again, and try again. I will post another update.

  • Ovmtb modifyjeos error while creating image

    hello,
    i have a problem: my OS: OEL5u6
    i installed ovmtb without erros. now i want to create vm-image. but just an error occurs:
    log in ovmtb webinterface:
    Running command: modifyjeos -dir /opt/ovmtb/builds/project_6 -i EL53_i386_PVM_jeos -n dfdfd -mem 512 -cpu 1 -S 512 -I 1024
    Please wait while VM image is being instantiated...
    Depending on your system this can take a few minutes!
    Mounting VM image...
    Unmount VM image...
    ERROR: Serious internal error...
    Please collect all logs and file a SR!
    ERROR creating JeOS image files...
    so i open a cli and tried it manually:
    cli:
    [root@juri jeos]# modifyjeos -i EL52_i386_PVM_jeos -n juri -dir /jeos -S 512 -cpu 2 -mem 2048 -nogpg
    folder jeos exists with all permissions (chmod 777 jeos)
    but just an error:
    [root@juri jeos]# modifyjeos -i EL52_i386_PVM_jeos -n juri -dir /jeos -S 512 -cpu 2 -mem 2048 -nogpg
    Please wait while VM image is being instantiated...
    Depending on your system this can take a few minutes!

    Configuring SElinux for: permissive
    Unmount VM image...
    ERROR: Serious internal error...
    Please collect all logs and file a SR!
    ERROR creating JeOS image files...
    so i took a look into /var/log/modifyjeos.log
    modifyjeos.log
    modifyjeos version 1.1.0-2 starting
    Creating device maps for the VM image...
    Setting up local loopback device for 'System.img'...

    Call stack: ResizeImageFile main main
    Unmount VM image...
    Unmounting product images:
    Removing device maps ('', '')...
    ERROR creating JeOS image files...
    modifyjeos version 1.1.0-2 ending with exit code 1
    i also tried it with different parameter e.g.
    [root@juri jeos]# modifyjeos -i EL55_i386_PVM_jeos -n juri -T 10240 -mem 2048 -cpu 2 -nogpg
    but same result:serious internal error
    i dont know what to do? can anybody help me?
    thanks in advance
    kind regards
    juri

    Hi,
    due to this line: "Call error: ResizeImageFile 'System.img' '512' '0' 'Benutzt' '516853760'" I assume your OS you installed ovmtb on is running in German. Correct?
    If that is so, I can imagine that maybe the modifyjeos command may have problems with the language settings.
    How is you LANG variable set?
    Try setting it to LANG=en_US.UTF-8 and try again.
    Otherwise I fear you shoudl try with an english installed OS.
    Regards
    Sebastian

  • Netinstall error: There was an error creating the image

    I am using Mac OS X Server 10.4.11 and trying to create a NetInstall Image using the System Image Utility 10.4.11. The .dmg image that I am using is a Mac OS X 10.5.6 version. After completing all the steps in Sys Image Itil it iteventually gives me the following error: There was an error creating the image.
    And indicates: error creating image and when I use this NetInstall image the client goes in an eternal reboot.
    It is very frusterating since I was able to make a netinstall image using a dmg from a Mac OS X 10.4 version and I was able to do a complete successful Netinstall. Anybody knows why and how to solve this error.

    Hi
    Mount the .dmg and launch SIU. If it's a valid image it should appear sandwiched between Sources and Workflows. Same process for a client mac connected via firewire or a bootable Installer Disk. Click on it and select NetInstall or NetBoot depending on what you want. You should be presented with Apple's EULA, click Yes/OK and save it to the appropriate folder assuming you've done the necessary in Server Admin. The Admin Manual is actually not too bad:
    http://images.apple.com/server/macosx/docs/SystemImaging_and_SW_Update_Adminv10.5.pdf
    No need to worry about index numbers either as it does it all for you. It's actually a lot easier than 10.4. Bear in mind if you want to customize the image you have to do it at this stage. You can't go back and edit/customize the nbi once it's created.
    You might want to consult the other documentation available for 10.5 Server here:
    http://www.apple.com/server/macosx/resources/

  • Failed (why else would I post). Error creating an image of Drive D:, rc = 2. Return Code -2147467259 0x80004005. "Not enough storage is available to process this command".

    Seems a common set of Return Codes to post so apologies that's not specific.
    To me appears the issue is related to the "Not enough storage is available to process this command" log entry. Looked into it and some SCCM 2007 issues that were related to too many sessions to the site server, but even after rebooting my MDT server
    I get the same issue.
    The server I am attempting to capture has a 60gb VHD with around 30gb actually used. The MDT Server has over 100GB free space.

  • Error message "unsupported image format" over red screen

    Working my way through a project making corrections to a series of jpegs, when the image preview disappears and turns red with the error message "unsupported image format" in small print over the top, the thumbnail is fine and I know the image to be fine. Move on to the next 2-3 images all with the same message and then the App hangs.
    Force quit and relaunch Aperture and the images are ok again.
    I am assuming that the previews are corrupting and causing this. Oh the app has been hanging intermittently throughout he day, I have trashed both the pref's and the App support folder, but still I get the spinning beach ball.
    Any thoughts?
    Tony

    I just noticed a similar problem. But for me it seems to be only for images referenced from my iPhoto library. I have not seen it yet on images imported directly into Aperture. If I click on a folder of images they appear fine at first, but if I just leave it displaying the first image after a few seconds the image disappears and displays the "unsupported image format" message over a red screen. Or it may display a random icon from somewhere in the application. And then the preview images start changing. Sometimes they change to what looks like system or application icons (arrow, the ratings "star", a printer icon, etc.)

  • Error draw an image on canvas

    Hello! In this code, the drawImage method is returning false. If the same code is run as a desktop application using the main method the error does not happen.
    Who knows why?
    public class AppJavaTV implements Xlet{
        private XletContext context;
        private Container container;
        private SCanvas canvas;
        public void initXlet(XletContext arg0) throws XletStateChangeException {
            context = arg0;
            container = TVContainer.getRootContainer(arg0);
            canvas = new SCanvas();
            canvas.setLocation(0, 0);
            canvas.setSize(container.getSize());
            canvas.setBackground(Color.white);
            container.add(canvas);
            container.setVisible(true);
        public void startXlet() throws XletStateChangeException {}
        public void pauseXlet() {}
        public void destroyXlet(boolean arg0) throws XletStateChangeException {}
        public static void main(String argv[]) {
            Frame frame = new Frame();
            frame.setLayout(new BorderLayout());
            frame.add("Center", new SCanvas());
            frame.resize(400, 400);
            frame.show();
    public class SCanvas extends Canvas{
        Image img = null;
        public SCanvas(){
            MediaTracker media = new MediaTracker(this);
            img = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().createImage("/Image.jpg");
            media.addImage(img, 0);
            try {
                media.waitForID(0);
            } catch (Exception e) {}
        @Override
        public void paint(Graphics graphics){
            graphics.setColor(Color.blue);
            graphics.drawRect(0, 0, 50, 50);
            graphics.setColor(Color.black);
            if(!graphics.drawImage(img, 200, 200, this))
                graphics.drawString("Error on draw image", 200, 200);
    }

    That is because you are using Canvas and Container objects. That objects are not used on the DTV environment. You should use the ones adapted to it, the ones contained in org.havi.ui, like HContainer, HScreen...
    Remember tha java.awt is not used (except for some classes) and the equivalent elements are under org.havi.ui
