HP LJ8000n unable to obtain IP address

We have an old LaserJet 8000n that is unable to obtain an IP address. It has been working for the last 10 or so years. In the last two weeks or so, the printer is unable to get an IP address. I did a cold reset and nothing happens. The printer is setup to use DHCP to obtain IP address. I did also tried putting the IP address in manually but that does not work either. Below is the JetDirect configuration page printout.
Any help/suggestion is much appreciated.

This seems to be a commercial product. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!
You can find the Commercial Laserjet board here:

  • SQL Cluster - Unable to obtain IP Address from System Center IP Pool

    Hi everyone,
we are trying to deploy a SQL cluster into a windows azure pack tenant cloud.
    Our azure pack environment contains:
    - 4X Hyper-V server in a failover cluster
    - 1X SCVMM server
    - multiple WAP server
    Steps we have done:
    -    Windows failover cluster is installed and configured successfully
    -    Quorum disk was configured successfully
    -    SQL server 2014 installation (via static IP) is successfully. But routing between the VMs is not possible.
    -    SQL server 2014 installation (via DHCP) fails at the end of the installation with following error:
-> We used DHCP to obtain an IP from the scvmm IP pool.

    Hi Darryl,
    thanks for your supply.
We don't have an DHCP in the Cloud. System Center DHCP is used for assigning IP addresses and routing inforamtion to the vms.
This works fine for assigning IP addresses to the vms.
At my current point of understanding network virtualisation with system Center, we do not have an alternative to this way of assigning IP addresses.
    Kind Regards

  • CIFS on OES2SP3 not registering as server on WINS server - Unable to obtain server list from CIFS server.

Running OES2P3 cifs on SLES10SP4. This server is on it's own subnet
connected via a router to the other subnets, with the rest of the
servers. Name resolution and CIFS file access does work, but browsing
does not work. I found that the server registers the workstation
service with the WINS server, but not the server service. Adding a a
static WINS entry enables netbios name resolution. But due to the
unability to obtain a server list from the CIFS server (a packet trace
shows, that the request for the server list from the OES CIFS server is
answered by the server with an unspecified server error) browsing does
    not work.
Is browsing supported by OES2 CIFS like it is in SAMBA or does it need
another server as browser to allow browsing to work?

Okay, then we have the same knowledge status in that area.
I'll try to open a SR on this question.

  • Unable to obtain task sequence from SCCM 2007

    Hi,
I have problem to deploy OS to one of my new model laptop due to no NIC driver in boot media CD. When running task sequence wizard, i encounter error " unable to find a valid network adapter driver" and I have google it and get the solution.
However the task sequence did not deploy to my new laptop in SCCM collection.
Step that i use to deploy OS for this new model
    1. Download new NIC driver into USB drive, load it during WinPE and able to obtain IP address
    2. Add the computer to SCCM deployment collection using tool "SCCM add Computer to Collection v.1.0.0.3" with new netbios name and i saw it inside the collection
3 Task sequence did not push to this new model and from SCCM server i unable to ping it , it display error
"Ping request could not find host xxxxxx. Please check the name and try again"
Is that the reason of the failed deployment?
    Regards,
    Chungb

did it obtain IP address from DHCP server? is DNS server address is configured in DHCP scope? can you ping using IP address?
if drivers are proper will suggest to update it in boot media & enable command line support to make it easy for deployment & troubleshooting.

  • Airespace Wireless Client periodically unable to obtain DHCP

I am experiencing a problem at a couple of customer sites. I have the WLC configured to point to a Microsoft DHCP server. Periodically, all of the clients will be unable to obtain a DHCP address. Currently, the only fix I have been able to come up with is to reboot the WLC. Obviously, this is not the desired solution. Has anybody experienced this problem and been able to permanently fix it?

The bug toolkit does not show that being fixed yet. However I have a workaround that might help. We have 5 4404 and 3 WISM and experienced the DHCP issue from time to time. Once the DHCP fails, the only way to remedy is a controller reboot.
I noticed the controllers "proxy" the DHCP request by default instead of an IP helper type relay. You can differentiate this by examining an IPCONFIG /ALL from a wireless client. In proxy mode you'll see the controller's virtual address as the DHCP server. In non proxy mode you will see the actual external DHCP server as the client's DHCP server. You can modify the proxy behavior with "config dhcp proxy disable". Now I'm not making any promises, but I've not had the DHCP issue since I made the change. It could have alleviated the issue or maybe I've just been lucky. It might be worth a try. Post back if this helps. No doubt many of us are having this issue.

  • Wi-Fi Obtaining IP address

Having a bit of a problem with my new Galaxy Tab.
I was able to connect onto my home Wi-Fi right out of the box.. no  problems..
But the next day, I turned the Tab back on and was unable to re-connect to my wi-fi.
It kept cycling from scanning for netwoks, it would find mine and say obtaining IP address then say disconnecting and it keeps going over and over... I found that I have to unplug and re-plug in my wireless router to get it to connect again..
Almost like it is not forgetting the old IP address from the day before...
I am NOT using a static IP and static IP is UNchecked in my setup.

Dont know if Samsung or anyone ever fixed this issue..but here is what I just stumbled upon.
My tab, like many others out here was having the problem where all of a sudden, you would get the obtaining IP address message and just get stuck there....
Stick with me on this one..... As I digress..
I, like others was tired of the fact that I could not delete all messages or empty my pop3 mail trash with just one push of a button as the mail client that comes with the tab does not have the ability to select all messages and then just hit delete...
I downloaded a new mail client from the android market (mail droid) as this program lets you delete multiple messages in one shot instead of one at a time....  Well... I love the program AND get this.. the obtaining IP address error that we have been getting has gone away...    Just to be sure, I uninstalled my new maildroid program and tried the default one provided with the tab and the error was back... Re-installed my new maildroid program again and problem solved again...
So.. it seems that the mail client provided with the tab is what is causing the tab to hang up when obtaining the IP address...

Assuming you have these accounts set up in Mail, open preferences and under Accounts tab, edit the SMTP outgoing server list. Do you have a .mac address in the list? If so, delete it.
    Are you using iCloud?
For the troubled account, select the correct SMTP server for that account in the box and check the box to use only that server with that account.

    Hi jennys8380407,
Can you please elaborate on what you mean by "unable to obtain a receipt"? Are you not able to see the invoices for your payments? Or are you unable to print them? It sounds like you have followed the steps outlined here: Print a payment receipt or invoice | Creative Cloud--can you tell me what you do see when you look at the subscriptions listed on your account?

Hello, I am getting the same error under different circumstances. No clicking is involved. What I need to know is what causes the error? Anyone know?
And levi_h - the end users of applets often get impatient when they don't see immediate results and will click and click and click and click, thinking that somehow they are helping the situation. You may feel they deserve to be punished, but the powers that be who are the customers who will deploy our applets don't feel that way at all, and they are the ones that pay our salaries and allow us to be sheltered, clothed, fed and send our kids to college!

    Hi Mahendra,
In the logistics tab if you select bill to and **** to drop down, you will get the addresses defined in the master.
and they will get pulled in PO screen.
some times it happens that they do not get pulled into the transaction screens.
Are you experiencing this in every transaction screen ?
    Try setting default address.

    hi,
I run the folowing command "start_oc4j.bat" to start Oc4j.
    It starts successfully.
Then I start "BPEL PM Server".
    I get the following error,
"Error starting ORMI-Server. Unable to bind socket: Address already in use: JVM_Bind".
I understand the above errror because both of them are trying to bind to the same port. And both of them are trying to start ORMI server. Can some one suggest how to get rid of this problem.
I tried giving different port numbers for them, but that did not work. Let me know, how to over come this problem.
    with regards

You may have another OC4J running on your computer.
You should change the port number in the file config/rmi.xml.

  • Unable to Obtain a Connection to Hyperion Essbase from Planning Application

    Dear All,
    I have installed FDM+Foundation+HFM+Essbase+Planning 11.1.1.3 (Tomcat)
I have stacked with the following problem:
when I try to open my data form, I am getting
“Unable to obtain a connection to Hyperion Essbase. If this problem persists, please contact your administrator”
Validate Database Connection & Validate Essbase Connection are successful throw Manage Data Source menu

Data Form is valid (verified in Preview screen in Data Form wizard)
Can somebody help me with it?
    Best Regards,
    Siarhei

    Thanks, John
    Summary
    Symptoms
When attempting to connect to Hyperion Planning as the admin user, the following error occurs:
Unable to obtain a connection to Hyperion Essbase. If the problem persists, please contact your administrator'
    Cause
Hyperion Planning web accesses the application by making a connection to the Planning metadata in the relational repository (via Relational repository settings) and also to Essbase via the datasource settings.
Any Essbase connection issues indicate problems with the Essbase settings in the datasource or are related to the Essbase server.
    Solution
    - Edit the datasource via the Configuration Utility.
    - Test the Essbase connection and make sure that the user used to make the connection is valid and has admin rights to Essbase.
    - Restart the Hyperion Planning service once the Essbase user has been given the correct access rights.
    - Login to the Essbase Administration Services (EAS) console and right click on the Essbase server name node -> Refresh security from Shared Services
    - Expand the applications node (under the Essbase server name node) and check that there is an application with exactly the same name as the Planning application.
Note: Go to section 'manually recreating a Planning application in Hyperion Essbase, if the Planning application is missing in the above step.
    - Login to the application in Hyperion Planning web.
Manually recreating a Planning application in Essbase:
    - Login to the EAS console as admin (the Essbase user used by admin must have Essbase administrator rights)
    - Go to Essbase servers -> your Essbase server name -> right click on applications -> Create application -> Using Block Storage and enter the exact Hyperion Planning Application name then click on ok.
Note: The above step will only create the application shell without the databases.
    - Login to the application in Hyperion Planning web as admin and go to Administration menu -> Manage Database -> select database and filters (to create filter access to Essbase) and Refresh (refresh will also recreate the databases if they don't exist)

  • Unable to obtain inventory from some XP PC's

I am unable to obtain version 7.5 inventory info from a handful of XP PC's. I believe it's something to do with this WifName registry entry which is blank on a PC where I cannot obtain inventory.
I have uninstalled the 7.5 client, deleted the registry contents as it leaves them there, deleted the Asset Management firectory from within program files as it doesn't completely uninstall the directory either, and re-installed from scratch. After the new installation the WifName registry entry is still blank.
I am runing the command manually "cclient.exe scannow:edit". This all works on my PC logged on as me but not on another Pc logged on as me. This rules out the Asset Management server, policies, rights to the registry etc which have all been suggested as problms in previous posts.
The ZAM Client and Collector have full access privileges to the ZAM
portion of the Program Files directory as well as to their own portion of
    the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tally Systems
    Corp.\TSCensus\CollectionClient.
The ZAM collection client is set in the services to run as a local
    system account on ALL PC's.
I believe I need to know why this entry is blank to fix the problem.
Secondly, when I run the Setup.exe program to install the client, it asks for my Server name from which it populates cps.ini like so:-
    [CollectionServer]
    Insight
    [CollectionClient]
    InBoxCC
however when I run the .msi that I found today, it doesn't ask for any info and the cps.ini file looks like this:-
    [CollectionServer]
    [CollectionClient]
    Is this significant?
My colw32.log file also contains the message "failed to get WIF path", all the time on the PC that fails but only sometimes on my PC.
    Thanks
    Lenny

Found out what the problem was. The Windows firewall was switched on for the PC's that didn't work.

Error: Logon rejected for  Unable to obtain Terminal Server User Configuration. Error: Not enough resources are available to complete this operation.
The problem is that the SharePoint server will
function just fine for a week or so and then suddenly when a new user tries
to log on they get an error message indicating that not enough resources areavailable to
log them on and also user will to credential prompt while accessing share point site .

    Hi,
According to the error message, please use performance monitor to diagnose if it is a memory-related bottleneck and you can use the counters of the memory part in the article below:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2008.08.pulse.aspx
In addition, it may be due to thousands of open connections to the server are in a TIME_WAIT state. You can run "netstat -an" command on the affected server and client. If you see mutiple connections in the TIME_WAIT state, you can follow the article
to increase the number of TCP/IP connections:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee377084(v=bts.70).aspx
Furthermore, if you are running windows server 2003, please make sure that you have installed the KB 948496 and stop all services that you don't need.
    Best regards,
    Susie

  • Unable to obtain WAN IP

I just bought my Airport Extreme base station, plugged it in and got a flashing amber light before I changed any settings. Went into the utility and changed the set-up and security settings to match my old Linksys, but I still have the “no WAN IP” error. I have basic DSL, no PPPoE or anything fancy. I plugged my WAN cable back into the Linksys and was back online is mere seconds. I upgraded the AEBS firmware to 7.1 and the admin utility to 5.1. On my Broadmax Technology DSL modem, the LAN light flashes when the Airport is plugged in, but the same light is steady when the Linksys is plugged in.
I tried the extended power down, but I have the same results. I was able to get online if I give my AEBS a static IP and plug it into the Linksys router (which still gets an WAN IP instantly). If I plug directly the AEBS into the DSL modem, I am unable to get an address from the DHCP server.
I have seen other post with similar issues and I tried the fixes with no help. The most common theme was to add MAC address, but that did not apply to my situation.
Is anybody else able to browse their network, but unable to get a WAN IP address?
17" MacBookPro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Broadmax Technology DSL modem

I know this might appear excessive, but I suggest you try the following...
    Modem/Router Power ReCycling
    - Power-off the DSL/Cable modem, Internet Router, & computer(s). (Wait at least 30 minutes. If possible, leave the modem off overnight.)
    - Power-on the DSL/Cable modem; Wait at least 30 minutes.
    - Power-on the Internet Router; Wait at least 5 minutes.
    - Power-on the computer(s)
