HP MediaSmart Connect x280n & MP4 Container Audio

PC Server OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
Codecs: Nothing other than installed with Win7 out of the box - all online updates up to date
PC Server: HP Entertainment Laptop HP-DV6-6105TX
Extender:  HP MediaSmart Connect x280n (Firmware: D2.0.105.080613.C3)
Connection: Hardwired - Tuning Bar Graph @ 100% HDTV Support
Problem:
MP4 Container files will not play AAC suported audio along with video within Media Center
I am no expert on containers and codecs but the supported specs indicate the file specs are supported on the x280n.
ffprobe = Stream #0:1(eng): Audio: aac (mp4a / 0x6134706D), 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 124 kb/s (default)
Supported CODECS: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=uk&lc=en&docname=c01473471
Troubleshooting:
The mp4 files WILL play video & audio in everything locally on the PC Server including:
Media Player 12 (12.0.7601.18150)
Media Center 6.1 (Windows 7)
CyberLink - PowerDVD10 (pre-installed by HP)
The mp4 files WILL play video & audio perfectly locally on the x280n Extender including:
HP Explorer Interface - Videos from local Personal Media Drive
HP Explorer Interface - Videos from network share NAS drive
HP Explorer Interface - Videos shared from PC/Laptop Server
The mp4 files WILL NOT play audio at all locally on the x280n Extender from:
Media Center 6.1 (Windows 7) - Extender Mode
The AVI, WMV, WTV and .ts container files WILL all play video & audio locally on the x280n Extender from:
Media Center 6.1 (Windows 7) - Extender Mode
I would really appreciate a point in the right direction. I have not started installing third party codecs and transcoders when I don't understand most of the settings. The MP4 files play fine locally on the extender outside of Media Center so playback is supported by the physical hardware.
Thanks
Regards,
Mark

I am in the same boat trying to understand this thing. I wanted to try it out and now I am starting to wonder what did i get myself into. I think the only track that would play is mp3.

HP MediaSmart Connect x280n AC Adapter HELP PLEASE!
Please someone tell me where I can get an AC for this unit and if not, please tell me the part number of this AC Adapter if you own one of these please? I have iterally looked for over 15 hours the past 2 days and called HP only to be passed on from department to department with not one clue as to this part number or where I can obtain an adapter for my unit. I found only 2 on ebay that had visible markings on the AC in the pics but could make out neither of their text.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you ever get an answer to this question?
I'm about to be in the same situation, and have been trawling the web to try to find a specification for the power supply.
I can see that the unit requires 19V at 22W, but that's all.
I don't know the size of the DC connector that is required.
    Thanks!

  • Premiere CS4 & AME 4.1 MP4 container does not keep bitrate settings

I am having a hard time trying to export my video to H.264 MP4 container using CBR 436kbit for video and 64kbit for audio.
AME is always resetting the bitrate to 3mbps. I have tried all the workarounds on this forum and they don't work.
I am running fully updated Premiere CS4 and AME on Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
PLEASE SOMEONE POST A WORKING SOLUTION TO THIS ANNOYING PROBLEM.
    Thanks a million.

I have found a working solution.
    Thanks to Jeff:
It's a bug.  Switch to VBR temporarily, then set your target bit rate.  When you switch back to CBR it should stick.

I get "kernel Panic" the moment I'm connecting an external (m-audio) audio drive

I believe m-audio installs some kexts (drivers) so my guess is it's what's causing your KP's.
Maybe you have an incompatible version or the stuff just plain doesn't work in lion.

  • Export XAVC-S in  MP4 Container

I want to create a video in 4K to play it on a Samsung 4K TV.
The TV is able to play XAVC-S coded 4K movies but unfortunatly not if I export it in 4K H.264.
How can I export XAVC-S in MP4 Container with Premiere Pro CC 2014?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Frank,
The only way to export XAVC is to use the MXF OP1a with an XAVC-Intra preset. Would that work?
    Thanks,

  • Importing AVCHD video in .mp4 container from Samsung camcorder

    Hello anyone and everyone,
I recently purchased a new Samsung camcorder (Model: HMX-H100N) and wish to use Premier Pro CS4 to edit the resulting video. The camcorder records video to an SDHC card in 1080i avc1 in an .mp4 container (the exact specifications as shown in GSpot and MediaInfo below) which when I attempt to import into premiere a green square is displayed. I have tried several AVCHD 1080i as well as HDV 1080i presets none of which have resulted in anything other than the green square or "Format Not Supported" error messages. I'm running Windows 7 (x86) OS and have several codecs (filters) installed including ffdshow, CoreAVC, DivX 7 as well as the built in Microsoft DTV-DVD filter and the MainConcept (adobe2) H264/AVC decoder. During normal playback of the .mp4 file Windows Meida Player seems to use the built in Microsoft DTV filter and playback is flawless, I would assume that Premier is attempting to use the MainConcept filter which seems to be unable to decode the files. Any help is appreciated.

I have bought a Samsung HMX-H100NM for my son, and we have had the hardest time importing the video cilps in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Here is what I found so far:
    - If you check the video size on the "green square clips", it's completely bogus. It might be set to  4x13 instead of 1920x1080 for example.
    - There was a firmware update for the HMX-100N on the Samsung web site in late December 2009.  As of January 17, 2010, it is not there aymore.  I was told at the end of December 2009 that there would be a new firmware upgrade in January 2010, so maybe a new version is coming soon.
    - After upgrading the firmware (I'm not sure exactly what happened with the old firmware installed, except that importing didn't work at all), I find that I'm able to import some clips if I set the camera resolution to "fine" or "superfine".  The other resolution still gives me clips that I cannot import. When a clip import is successful, I can play the vide. However, if I save the project and reopen it, I will get "green squares" in lieu of some of the good clips. Rebooting the computer and reopening the same project might give me a different set of bad clips. I have reported this as a bug.
    - Just for the heck of it, we tried importing the same video clips in Adobe Premiere Elements and that worked just fine.
    In summary:
    1. Try setting your video resolution to "fine" or "super fine" in camera.
    2. Try using Adobe Premiere Elements.
    3. Pray that we get a fix in Premiere Pro soon.
    4. I'm looking for recommendation for a different video camera that will work "out of the box"

  • How would one convert Word files containing audio to a PC?

I'm not sure if it's possible, but how could I convert Word files that contain audio from a Mac laptop to a PC laptop? I really would appreciate any help, as I truly need these files for academic reasons. Thank you

    Hi, theocularone -
    Welcome to Apple's Discussions.
This particular forum is set aside for users of OS 9. Since you are using a MacBook Pro, you can not be using OS 9 (OS 9 is not usable with any Intel-processor Mac).
You would probably get a faster, more directed response if you reposted your question in the appropriate OSX forum. Depending upon which version of OSX you are using, you can access those here -

  • When Viewing Adobe Connect Training, why are Audio/Video out of synch

I am a new Captivate 5.5 user and I have been using the Adobe Connect Training material to come up to speed on the product. However, I have noticed that when viewing presentations in Connect, over time, the audio and video eventually are completely out of synch. What is being discussed (in the audio) has nothing to do with what is being shown on the screen. This happens on all Connect Training videos.  I have a high-speed Internet connection and I never have problems with streaming content from other sources such as YouTube, etc.  What am I doing wrong?

Dang, though it was worth a shot.
Now, one user here, Jim Simon, uses similar, and has worked out a percentage that he adjusts the remote mic's material to fit with his camera. Cannot recall exactly now, but it seems that he alters the Audio by a factor of about 104%. My memory is cloudy on the exact figure, and Jim seems to be on extended holiday. Not sure now, if he uses the Rate Stretch, or runs his mic's audio through Audition. Sorry that the memory is so fuzzy now.
Good luck, and maybe Jim will show up with his exact figures, to give you a starting point.

  • Why does my computer keep trying to connect to a bluetooth audio device that doesn't exist?

For some reason, whenever I have my bluetooth on to use my Magic Mouse, every six minutes or so I get an error saying that my bluetooth is having issues connecting to a bluetooth audio device. I do have a Bluetooth Audio device, but it stays at home and is only on when I am watching movies. This happens all the time, even when I am at work, and even when I tell it to stop using the device.
    My kernel.log reads the following:
kernel[0]: IOAudioStream[0xffffff8015766a00]::clipIfNecessary() - Error: attempting to clip to a position more than one buffer ahead of last clip position (1,450)->(2,654).
         kernel[0]: IOAudioStream[0xffffff8015766a00]::clipIfNecessary() - adjusting clipped position to (2,450)
Does anyone know what is going on?

Make sure the device isn't selected in the Sound preference pane.

  • "The selected file does not contain audio media ..."

I'm using Premiere Pro CC in Windows 7. A week ago I created a project using media from an external hard drive. I opened the project today to make changes to it, and a number of the .MTS files show up as missing. When I click on "Link Media" and locate the file -- which shows up as being on the external drive -- I get the following error message: "The selected file does not contain audio media used by clip references in one or more sequences. These audio clip references will be deleted, and cannot be undone. Do you want to continue?" I have canceled out of it because I do not want to damage my project irreparably, but I'm trying to determine the best course of action in re-linking these clips that are essential to the project. (I did apply a Left Fill to all the audio in the project, but I don't know if that would cause a problem, or if it did, how I could remove that effect. I've tried to re-link with several previous autosave versions of the project, only to get the same result.)

  • IChat won't send written messages...but will connect to do an audio chat...

I'm not sure what happened, but my iChat just stopped sending text-based messages. I can log on, click on a person, and type a message, but it won't send. I can, however, connect and do an audio chat. Has anyone had this happen before??

    Hi,
    Next Bit.
In iChat > Preferences > Accounts then the Server Settings tab, what is the Login port currently in use ?
For AIM Logins this is normally 5190 by default. We post about changing it to 443
Is SSL an Option for you and is it Selected ?
Try it deselected if you have it (iChat 5) - you need to be logged out to make changes.
iChat logs in on port 5190 on the TCP Protocol with any Buddy list that accesses the AIM Service.
It also uses this same port but on the UDP Protocol for File Sending, Direct IMs (Those with Pica and Files sent in them) and group chats. Some Buddy list Feedback is also on UDP.
Changing the Login port separates the dual use.
If the AIM SSL server goes down iChat needs a manual reset to get it to work again.
If changing either of those does not produce any changes then try Deleting the Account/Screen Name from iChat then Re-adding it again.
You will not lose your Buddy List as it is held at the server end.

  • 2 X-Fi Surround 5.1 connected to one laptop, audio console only supports one?

M2 X-Fi Surround 5. connected to one laptop, audio console only supports one? Hi,
for multi room audio purposes I connected two USB X-Fi Surround 5. to a laptop. Windows detects the two sound cards correctly and via Winamp I can have both of them play simultaniously different music, which is great.
However, I can't seem to be able to make a selection between the two sound cards in Creative's audio console. I can only select one card, and of course, the sound settings only apply to that one card. How can I access the other card for sound settings such as 3D and crystalizer ?
The sound card selection menu allows me to choose between :
    - Windows Standard audio
    - SB X-Fi surround 5.
    - X-Fi surround 5. Line / Mic in
    - X-Fi surround 5. What U hear
I tried reinstalling the sound drivers as suggested elsewhere, but that doesn't seem to help.
    Many thanks in advance !
    Kind regards,
    Cooled Spirit.

QRe: 2 X-Fi Surround 5. connected to one laptop, audio console only supports one?B Thanks, but that doesn't help, as soon as I unplug, the settings are "lost". It's the software that stores the settings, not the hardware.
My theory so far is, that this caused by?two identical?products : both have exactly the same?device name in Windows. I can imagine that when certain software tries to retrieve a list of available Creative?hardware, it might get confused when two identical names occur in the list, perhaps skipping one of the "duplicates". Windows device name is?provided either by the drivers or the hardware itself.
Of course, this is just a theory. Windows itself and software like Winamp seem to be able to handle this perfectly.
If I would have the technical know-how, I would try to rename the device name in Windows registry. Alas, the name appears at many places, I don't know which exact place to change the name, in order to obtain different device names. And that's assuming Creative software uses this...
    Kind regards,
    Cooled.

  • My ipod touch suddenly stopped charging when connected to my iHome audio system.

My iPod touch suddenly stopped charging when connected to my iHome audio.  I downloaded the newest update to iTunes and then when I plugged my iTouch into my iHome a message popped up that said the iPod touch was unable to charge on the device.

    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod and dock for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Contact iHome. Maybe there is a firmware update for the dock. Sometimes an iOS update breks compatibility. However, sometimes the following works
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
