HP Mini 110 keeps freezing!

Question

My wife and I both recently purchased an HP Mini 110 from the same retailer.  After about a 2-3 minutes of sitting idle, the screen will freeze.  The cursor will still move but that's all.  This is happening on both computers.  The only way to fix it is a manual restart and that's getting really old.  These are almost brand new computers. There's no dust clogging the vents and there hasn't been a ton of extra software installed.  Please help.

maybe my earlier answer was on the right track but I wrote to customer support and got a more thorough answer.
I could not repeat the steps for the keyboard and mouse though because I did not see the same options when I clicked on them.  Well the mouse didn't freeze so maybe that's ok.

According to the description provided by you, it seems that the issue has occurred due to some power management settings.
In response to your issue, I would request you to please follow the below steps:
Change the settings for power management.
Change the settings for power management in device manager.
Change the settings for power management.
1.        Click on start.
2.        Go to control panel.
3.        Double click on power options icon.
4.        Now select Never from the drop down for ‘Turn off Monitor’, Turn off hard disks’ and ‘system standby’.
5.        Now click on Hibernate tab on top of the window.
6.        Remove the check mark from ‘enable hibernate’ if it is marked.
7.        Click on Apply and Ok.
Change the settings for power management in device manager.
1.        Click on Start.
2.        Right click on My Computer.
3.        Click on Properties.
4.        A window will pop up.
5.        Click on Hardware tab.
6.        Click on Device manager tab to get the device manager window.
7.        Now click on the plus sign beside the Network adapters.
8.        Right click on the network adapter and click on the properties.
9.        A new window will pop up.
10.     Click on Power management tab.
11.     Check mark on the option available for ‘Allow this device to wake the computer.’
Please repeat the same steps for keyboard and mouse also. You just need to select the keyboard and mouse in the device manager window and follow the same steps to manage the power options.
