• HP Pavilion Mini Model Number Confusion?

I've recently purchased an HP Pavilion Mini 300-030na desktop - at least I think that's what I've purhcased as I'm really not sure now. There seems to be some discrepancy over the model of the unit which I'm hoping someone can help me clear up. At the moment here's what I'm seeing: On the physical unit itself:Model: 300-0xx
Product No: 797767-001 In the BIOS/System Info/HP Support Assistant:Model: 300-0xx
Product No: 797767#001 On the product description at the store/on the store's website:Model: 300-030na On a sticker on the side of the box:Product No: L0W06EA The issue here is that HP Support Assistant thinks the model is "300-0xx" which returns a picture of a Compaq Laptop. Also, searching for support for "300-0xx" returns three HP Compaq laptops to choose from which is definitely NOT what this PC is. Lastly, when attempting to check my warranty status using the info HP Support Assistant holds, the process fails. And yet when purchasing the product from John Lewis, the model is clearly stated as 300-030na. So I'm super confused. What actually is it? Is it a 300-0xx or a 300-030na? Also what is the correct Product No from above too? Is there a way to correct the information in the BIOS/HP Support Assistant if the information is incorrect? I'm comfortable with BIOS flashing, but am unsure which tools to use to get the job done.

im not sure what to do next - can anyone help?
im running OSX 10.7.4

Hi There,
I have had the exact same issue but with a projector.
The issue lies with Mountian Lion 10.8.2.
I tried many a combination with no luck to get HDMI working.
Took my mac into the apple store and came to the conclusion it was the software, so I asked them to install 10.8 onto it (this is destructive so a backup is a must)
Bought my macbook home and voila, now displaying through my projector.
There is a small graphics update after 10.8.1 which seems to be the cause.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

• How Do I Determine Mac Mini G4 Model Number?

I just acquired a Mac Mini G4 and would like to know what model I have. Can anyone please tell me how to do this? he prefix of the serial number does not look like the model numbers I found on this site.
TIA,
Michael

Thank you for this information. I don't know if it works yet. I read on this site that one can determine the exact model number from the EMC# which in this case is 2026. Where can I look up this EMC#?
Best regards,

• Can i ask for the model number of the ipad air/mini retina which is warranty in VietNam ??

Hi
i want to ask for some model of the ipad Air/mini retina that could be warranty in Vietnam ?
i did call to the apple center in vn but they refused to provide the model number that will have warranty support
thanks

You can ask, but only Apple can decide how to address your complaint.
If the problems are related to each other it would seem reasonable to request a complete replacement, but no one here can speak on Apple's behalf.

• What is the exact model number of a Mac Mini-mid 2011 Server?

My Mac Mini Server apple tells me is a Mid-2011. I saw somewhere the Mac Mini models have "5" as the starting number in a 3 or 4 digit model number. Why is apple unable to give an exact model # of this "Mid-2011" model. Appreciate somebody to give an answer to this seeming "mystery". Thank you.

Unclear on whether you are asking about the model identifier (Macmini5,3) or the Apple part number (MC936LL/A).
The model identifier can be found in "System Information". The Apple part number can be found on the serial number plate attached to the chassis.

Hi,
It's probably because your Model No. comes with various customizable options so it's probably best to search using the Product No. instead as this should more accurately identify your machine.
The Recovery Media that will be sent to you from HP will contain all the original software that was bundled with your notebook - a quick link to the Software and Drivers available to download is below.

• How do I find the model number of a MacBook

A friend of mine has a MacBook that won't start up. How do I find the model number of her MacBook? A number like MBXXXLL/A or MAXXXLL/A.

HI,
Do you meant he serial number? If so, click the Apple Menu  then click: About This Mac. You will see Mac O S X. Under that click where you see: Version 10.x.x, then click one more time to see the serial number.
You can also view this information by launching the System Profiler (Applications/Utilties)
On the left under Contents select Hardware. The serial number will be displayed on the right.
Just out of curiosity, how is knowing the serial number going to help trouble shoot this MacBook ??

• Help with Ram & a Model number.

Hi,
Trying to purchase some additional RAM for my daughters iMac on the stealth. I have the model number #A1174 and the basics - like it's a 20", 2.0GHZ, and that it came with 512 MB installed - can anyone tell me by looking at the model number if this is one of the new Intel Duo Core machines? I want to be sure and order the correct RAM.
thanks!
-todd

For the money, right now there are tons of the 512MB modules of 667MHz SO-DIMM memory being offered on eBay by individual owners who are upgrading their Intel-based iMacs, MacBooks, MacBook Pros and minis, any of which RAM will work in your iMac. Due to the quantity being offered, one can be purchased for a fraction of the amount as new, usually no more than $35 total, including shipping. Many of them have even been removed prior to ever being used.
There are not too many similar 1GB modules available, although some MacBook Pro owners of the new Core 2 Duo are replacing one of two of their base 1GB modules with a 2GB module (the result being 3GB of memory). Those modules will work problem free in a Core Duo.
For quick purchase of best quality, in fact, one of the best current prices appears to be a sale price with free shipping from one of the four main memory suppliers to Apple - U.S. based Micron, whose fully owned subsidiary Crucial retails their memory to the public at crucial.com. I just checked and their # CT500622 is 132.29 plus sales tax. You get a warrranty, which isn't the case with an eBay purchase. I've bought a lot from both of the sources I've recommended, and haven't had a problem with either, so haven't yet needed a warranty.

• X-FI FATAL1TY : Wrong model number on my c

I noticed that the Model number on my X-Fi fatalty card's PCB does not correspond to the model numbers published on this site. The X-Fi should have the model number SB0466 but on mine it reads SB0460, which corresponds to the X-Fi platinum or Extreme music edition. The I/O dri've is ok and the packaging is definately the Fatalty edition.
Has anyone else found this with their Fatalty card?

Does this mean that the wrong card was packaged

Is their another way to determine that model number by reading a chip identifier (not the drivers) by software or any other way to determine that the card is actually a Fatalty model.

Hope somebody can help or enlighten me, and thanks when you do. :manhappy:
I have copied the info below from http://ask.europe.creative.com/wweng...List_Audio.htm

Sound Blaster X-Fi I/O Dri've SB0250

Okay guys, i have read much about samsung chips:
>Also if its a Music or plat card the mem chip will be a Samsung chi, its located directly above the X-FI chip
But my Xtreme Music has no Sasmsung chip on it its a Hynix Chip. The Sticker says 0460, wo what card
is mine?
Here is a picture of this card:
http://www.k8we.com/?q=gallery&g2_vi...geViewsIndex=2
Not a good picture, but good enough to see the hynix chip and the sticker.
Please Help!
Does this mean:
hy57V660ET-6
which means:HY=HYnix57=SdramV = Voltage 3,3V6= Density 6M6= Organization x6 = 2Banks0 = Low Voltage TTLE = 6th Generation ChipT = TSOP Package-6= 66MHz
I think density is 6 million bits = 2MB.
Not all X-FIs have a "Samsung" Chip!

• HP mini model differences? Basic buyer info missing -- please help

Ok, so I want a gray or black model in the UK, and it's narrowed down on the HP website to:
HP Mini 210-4160ea PC (B1E15EA) 320 pounds
HP Mini 210-4120ea PC (A9E61EA) 270 pounds
HP Mini 210-4120sa PC (A7R29EA) 249 pounds
Problem is the technical specifications for them are identical. What is the difference? Searching the internets leads to lots of different contradicting information about missing bluetooth / microphone jacks / integrated wifi...
Seriously, not putting this basic info is ridiculous. Shame on you HP!
Someone please help me out!!
